Today the majority of the programs are developed according to industry demands. PIM works closely with partners to ensure relevance to current and forecasted market trends, to better serve society and the needs of the future.

On 9 March 2007, PIM was founded initially as Panyapiwat Institute of Technology. The Faculty of Business Administration began offering a bachelor degree in Business Administration with three majors: modern trade management, food business management, and logistics management; and a p o s t - g ra d u a t e masters degree, within the same field.
PIM started offering Chinese programs at the master level and established the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
PIT was formerly changed to Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM). The Faculty of Business Administration begins administering bachelor degree programs through distance learning centers located in strategic cities throughout country.
The Faculty of Communication Arts was established while PIM’s first international work and study internship program was delivered in Osaka, Japan for business administration students.
PIM’s Roadmap was launched, announcing the Institute’s intent to be Thailand’s first corporate university. The Faculty of Management Sciences was established and was the first year that Business Chinese students spend internships in SouthWe s t U n i ve r s i ty , China under the 1+1+2 initiative.
2013 The Faculty of Innovative Agricultural Management (IAM) and the International College (IC) were established.
2014
2016
The 16-floor, energy efficient building, CP ALL Academy, was inaugurated and the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Food Business Management commenced operation. In 2014, 12 distance learning centers accepted students nationwide.
PIM’s first international bachelor degree program in international Modern Trade business Management (iMTM) b e g a n a cc e p t i n g students while PIM becomes host to the Netherlands’ Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Stenden Thailand, from where the Grand Tour is administered. International students from 18 countries make their home in PIM.
2015 The Faculty of Agro-Industry (AGI) was launched, under the auspices of ex p e r t s f ro m C P Food. An investment worth 40 million THB allowed the Institute to open the PIM Aviation Training Center (PIM Air).
2017 Early 2017 marked the launch of two much anticipated programs in Logistics and Transportation, Management and Robotics and Automation Engineering and the first day of classes for students enrolled in PIM Demonstration School (Satit PIM).
10 Years Old, 100 Years Strong
Ten years ago, CP made two pivotal decisions : The first is the decision to funnel the CP group’s100 year accumulation of industry experience to better use; and the second is to develop quality and qualified people to join Thailand’s workforce.
The combination of these two decisions is what has made Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) what it is today. PIM’s study model is the product of careful planning to incorporate classroom theories and real-work experience to equip our students with job-ready competencies. PIM’s tenth year is characterized by three elements; expansive
growth, diversified development, and qualitative accomplishments.
Qualitative Accomplishments
Diversified Development
An unprecedented increase, close to a twenty-fold increase, indicates PIM’s student body growth in numbers. Today, PIM is home to international students from 18 countries, offers 30 programs within 10 faculties, and hosts two colleges that deliver programs in English and Chinese. One of this year’s key achievements is the establishment of PIM Demonstration School (Satit PIM), a secondary level school under PIM’s Faculty of Education. PIM’s linkages and network now span the world, with over 500 partners within the academic and business sectors.
Programs at PIM are developed by working closely with industry partners, tailor making every course to ensure its relevance to the Institute’s goal to prepare graduates who are job-ready. Over the years, an array of programs across many disciplines have been redefined and are now offered as options for enrolment; such as robotics and automation engineering, aviation business management, business administration, several language programs, hotel and tourism, and agro industry .
Comparatively a young institution, PIM acknowledges that the road to recognition comes with many challenges. This is why the Institute pushes forward relentlessly, guided by CP, to continue to be one of the world’s leading corporate universities.
05 G l obal Connect 2017 |
Expansive Growth
Represented by excellence in business management and the academic achievements of the Institute’s faculty, students, and alumni, PIM has amassed a number of accolades and awards. A recent international competition in Seoul, South Korea, proved a group of PIM students - hailing from different programs - triumphant, by bringing back the platinum prize. Ninety-eight percent of PIM alumni are employed, with more than half receiving job offers upon graduation.

PIM Founder delivers special talk on strategy 18 February 2017 PIM founder and CP ALL Chairman of the Executive Committee, Mr. Korsak Chairasmisak delivered his annual special session on business strategy formulation, highlighted by the abstract strategy game invented in ancient China, named “Go”. The class was comprised of 30 students from 11 different countries. Mr. Korsak introduced four valuable strategies of the “Go” game on how to: expand territory, 2) protect assets, 3) implement defense techniques, and 4)
determine when to attack. He explained that the game “Go” mimics real life; wherein life, people have many battles to fight and are given limited resources and may need to consider current obligations. “With the right strategy, knowledge, and teamwork; anyone can easily survive the battlefield of both life and game. Go is not about winning the battle, but rather surviving the war. If you want to win, you also need to lose in order to learn how to win and survive on the battlefield”, he summarized.

The education system at PIM is quite different from other universities or institutes because studying is based on work too. I actually didn’t know anything about business! I appreciate how PIM organized many company visits so we can learn how they operate in real life. I felt that PIM also cared for our adjustment because they also toured us in many historical places, so we can understand Thai culture more. During classes, we have to do group activities and many presentations. Unlike other programs in my country, we have to do the internship every summer without any long break! The good thing is CP Group is one of the largest conglomerate companies in the world and PIM is the top leading ASEAN networking institute, so we have opportunities to choose internships based on our interest, other than the first year compulsory internship at 7-Eleven. The truth is I’m looking forward to my internship at 7-Eleven, I hope I can gather as much knowledge as I can because I know I can apply these skills if I choose to start my own business.
