Having a long overdue shopping spree in the fine city of Norwich? Here are our favourite places to get a caffeine fix.

Strangers

A staple in the city for over a decade, Strangers has not one but three locations throughout Norwich in which to fuel up, including a roastery where you can buy bags of coffee beans for your machine at home. Sit in and choose from a variety of beans and blends (plus a delectable selection of sausage rolls and cakes), or take your order away in one of their iconic biodegradable cups.

Little Red Roaster

Serving up fine coffee in our fine city since 2002, The Little Red Roaster is so popular it has two locations. The Norwich Lanes shop offers freshly brewed bevvies and a tasty selection of treats, sandwiches and toasties. Or, if you’re at the market, visit their stall on Row B and get a takeaway coffee to sip on as you browse.

DO YOUR BIT Take part in the world’s biggest coffee morning this month on the 24 September to help fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support. Whether you host your own or pop along to one happening locally, every little helps for this fantastic cause. Visit: coffee.macmillan.org.uk

Alchemista

Step into the quirky steam punk interior and enjoy a coffee like no other. Alchemista are creators of ‘coffee potions’ and serve a range of speciality coffees inspired by their travels in South East Asia and beyond. There’s also the more traditional offerings, alongside freshly prepared artisan sandwiches and afternoon teas. If you’re after something a little stronger, they also have a selection of delicious coffee cocktails.

Kofra

Ethically-sourced beans from all over the world come together at this vibrant coffee shop. Kofra’s ethos is that a quality experience is as important as the coffee, so you’re guaranteed to get a warm welcome and friendly service. With four sites across the city serving drinks, coffee beans, snacks and, in the case of the shop on Upper St Giles, natural wines and deli produce, you’re never far away from the company’s community spirit.

Bread Source

Ok, yes, it’s technically a bakery first and a coffee house second, but is there any better accompaniment to a good cup of Joe than some artisan breads and pastries? What’s more, they have an allyou-can-eat toast offer (plus coffee) for those who are eating in, as well as some of the best sausage rolls around.
