CANTENAC BROWN, A SCOTTISH ANCESTOR GRAND CRU CLASSÉ IN 1855 In the early nineteenth century, John-Lewis Brown (1769-1851) bought an estate in France, near Bordeaux and decided to build in the town of Cantenac an English Renaissance-style castle to remind him of his Scottish origins. His name will remain forever attached to this Grand Cru Classé. Surrounded by a remarkable English-style park, the property is since then one of the most original in Médoc. Since 2006, the Simon Halabi family has given new impetus to this great vineyard, managed by José Sanfins, with the ambition of taking it to the very highest level. www. cantenacbrown.com
