Temple Parks & Recreation works diligently to provide citizens with clean, attractive, and well maintained areas. Due to the large number of parks in Temple, it is difficult to keep each park in top condition at all times. We are very thankful for all the help from our wonderful community members and organizations that help us maintain and enhance our parks! Adopt-A-Park groups help inform parks staff of issues or wants for their park and also organize park work days, clean up, plant trees and plants,
and complete other projects to help maintain or enhance their parks.

Sign of the Times: The Great American Political Poster, 1844–2012 December 15, 2017 - January 19, 2018 The hardworking American political poster has been hiding in plain sight, attempting to catch our eye and capture our vote through the use of visual language. Explore the art of the political poster with the most exciting and rarely seen posters created in the last 170 years, from Presidents Polk to Obama, and many in between. Russell Lee Photographs January 27 - March 10, 2018 Photographs by Texas’s renowned documentary photographer Russell Lee - The exhibit offers a rare glimpse into the remarkable images he produced in 1935 and 1936 when he first took up a camera and goes on to highlight the vast body of important work that Lee produced from 1947 through 1977.
Patios, Pools, & the Invention of the American Back Yard March 17 - May 26, 2018 On loan from the Smithsonian, the exhibit features period photographs, retro advertisements, pop culture references, and influential landscape designs. From the beauty of postwar garden design to the history of the rise of the suburbs and the environmental movement, the exhibition is a nostalgic, fascinating look back.

ART IN THE PARK PROGRAM!
The Temple Parks Foundation Art in the Park Program is a community effort to connect our park system and public areas with visual arts. Sculptures adorn neighborhood parks, community byways, and local businesses to remind our citizens young and old to enjoy their environment and stay young at heart. Donations of any size accumulate and allow the Foundation to purchase additional pieces of art as funds become available. The Art in the Park Program is another great way to memorialize a parent, child, or grandparent in the community which we celebrate.
MEMORIAL TREE PROGRAM: Honor, Celebrate, Memorialize! The City of Temple Parks & Recreation Department maintains 60+ parks and recreation areas, totaling more than 700 acres. The Memorial Tree Program is your opportunity to pay a long-lasting tribute to an individual or occasion by planting a tree in his or her honor. At the same time, your donation will enhance your favorite park and support the Temple Parks Foundation. Commemorate a graduation, birth, passing, wedding, anniversary or any special recognition. For more information call 254-298-5690 for details!
FOUNDATION MISSION The mission of the Temple Parks Foundation is to increase awareness, quality and usability of parks and green space by expanding the resources made available to our city parks to enhance community health and cohesiveness. Working to make Temple the most livable, beautifully connected community in Texas. 42
