Or ask someone to pick it up for you Rideouts The Club Monday rides have been down in numbers due to the dreaded weather, i have never known a summer as bad as this, we had a bad one 2 years ago but that was nothing compared to this one, it proved it on Monday 23rd July a sunny weekend and Monday we took over 40 bikes to the Crooklet inn on Bude beach a great ride and brilliant scenery across the coast, thanks to ride leader and marshals for a job well done...... PLYMOUTH MCC 4TH SUMMER PARTY The party was held on the 28th July and was well attended by club members. Sue once again made a fabulous chilli and I cooked the burgers and sausages which Steve sourced from a butcher in Tavistock .The Dj was a guy called Steve Nott who played some great music all night and a good time was had by all. Thanks go to Trevor, Sue and Steve PS and it stayed dry as you can see from picture 1

Our trip , myself Mac Jeff Snell, Goeff Willamson , & Mike Sargy had our trip over to Spain . We left from Plymouth on Sunday 24th June on the Pont –Aven, Brittany ferries Trip to North Spain Pecos de Europas Mountains Day 1 As we arrived in Spain the weather was great sunshine wall to wall , So onwards to POTES 68miles , part of the Pecos de Europas mountains. We arrived about 4pm got into our hostel great place bedroom was nice but as it had 4 beds it was quite a big room , but come night time , most of us were sound asleep , but the night chorus started up namely MIKE, GEOF ME ,poor old Jeff was not getting enough sleep , cus of our snoring & farting all night . Day 2 Next day we set off to see the mountains, Fuente de one of the highest mountains around , we got there fairly quickly so not to busy at the cable car that was only 15/20 miles to get there Cost about 15 euros , very nice ride up very steep and the views were stunning Day 3 From there we rode over & under mountains high & low, until we needed fuel, oopps nearest garage. 20 miles away in Riano , so off we rode into the hills &n far away, filled up the bikes at the lakes of Riano , had a coffee & a bite to eat . Back at POTES, our hostel, we had a walk along the village & there was a bar?? well the temptation was too great in we went , a few beers later , back to get showered & ready to go out for our meal , nice meal to only 11 euros with a beer 3 coarse meal as well . Next day was a bigy ride 320miles, we left at the crack of Dawn, 7am off into the mist of the Pecos mountains , heading to Santiago de Compistella were the pilgrims walk across Spain from France we arrived .there middle afternoon , one hellava job finding the hostel , but after a few heated ride rounds the city . I mean ? hot 30c bugger I was soaking wet With sweat so into our second hostel , smaller but did the job 4 bunks we had to let the old buggers stay on the lower bunks as they could not get up there, anyway it was great fun .We did a few trip around but as we got split up one day mike & me went a different way than Jeff & Goeff they ended up in Vigo , we were not very far from then but we came back had a shower & chilled out . we stayed 3 night s there . Day 6 Onto LUGO , 80 miles away the roads were so good it makes ours look crap !! well they are A small town very old but had a wall all around the old part , had coffee bite to eat & onwards to LEON 140 miles away , as I said the roads were brill hardly any traffic on the main roads . That’s afternoon we arrived at LEON fair sized city lots going on , as normal we got lost , mostly cus of one way streets , at last we found our hostel only 100yards away from were we thought it was anyway, booked in , had a shave shower, a light snooze & we were ready to hit the town. The best thing was that every time we ordered a beer we got free tapas , so we had to be carefull of the drinks + tapas = not very hungry , so we ate later on that night the carnival started , bands dancing gals all around the city & in the main square . Day 7 Ps you'll grin at this , as I was in front most of the time , as we were on our way back this day , we rode fairly slowly as we were looking to find the church built in the rockface, anyway I was out in front minding my own business , when I got this stabbing pain in my groin , shit as I wobbled all over the road with pain , I saw a bloody great bee stinging me , that hurt like hell , so as soon as I could pull over jumped of me bike undresses as fast as I could down to me pants looking to see what the hell stung me twas that bee , then the others were standing around wondering wat the hell I was doing , as it was so painful , they dint know I had been stung , gits just stood there making jokes about it the shits . Day 6 off to BURGOS 180 miles away we are staying 2 nights in BURGOS , and the hostel was brill . not so early start as Jeff has not had any sleep for 6 days , some gits snoring & farting all night , even had a pillow thrown on me bed one night .

Day 8 Next day off to PALENCIA just a day trip & back , very nice city but quiet, had coffee a bun or 2 , Ride back to Burgos , find a bar pint + tapas , then back to hostel shower & off out on the town , then we said lets ride into town get some food & see how its goes , , but the football frenzy had started all the Spanish were out dancing in the streets , so we looked for a bar , but next door was a shindig going on all night so we were told , but we were asked if we wanted to stay , but we had all rode our bikes up there so that was a no no , So back to our hostel very very nice place too good for us 4 really , had a few pints then bed time Day 9 off into Burgos city bloody big place that was but after a walk around we had lunch not brill but it filled the hole , then a bit more walking the back to were the bikes were & found a little bar had a coffee or whatever , then started back to the hostel . Day 10 off to Santander We rode the short way up about 140 miles, , thro the mountains on the way back we stopped a few times tea stops chill out as we were in no hurry to get to Santander, Mike & Jeff were way ahead of me & Geoff , but as we came thro a small village I spotted a Gardia Civile behind us so we had to keep to the speed limits as the others got further away the police stayed on our tails for 20mins but at last pulled off & we once again got up to speed as they say, We had planed to stay in Santander at least one day & the hostel was about 200 yards from the ferry Small but did the job no probs, as we walked about Santander we got to know were the bars & eating places were , you have to try these places , part of the holiday , but we stumbled on a bar cafĂŠ more or less in the train station , we could get a 3 coarse meal plus a bottle of red wine for 8.50 Euros, fantastic so yes we were in there morning noon & night , After exploring Santander , it was time for us to leave for home the ferry was to sail at 21.30 wed night to arrive Plymouth the following day Thursday 5th July , As you do we got talking to other bikers in the lines of bikers , & soon to find out that 3 bikers had not been able to ride there steeds home as they were in hospital , one had fell off on the bends triumph 675 broke his leg . 2nd rider hit an Audi on the bends broken arm + ribs airlifted to hospital , an the other had fell off in the mountains & broken his back lucky for him his legs were still working so , just to say to the would be fast boys who go ever to SPAIN , be careful as it can & generally does happen , they fall off . To sum it all up ( great ) hopefully planning another trip for next year . all the lads were great apart from poor Jeff lack of sleep snoring & farting all night , not me I must add twas the others , BON VOYAGE. PLYMOUTH MEGARIDE This years ride went fairly well on the day, with only a couple of things to iron out for next year but the hard work The Megaride’s postponement in June meant that every thing had to be re-printed at a huge cost. Numbers were well down again because of the weather. All finances will be published on the Megaride website very soon. We would like to say a huge thank you to all people that made the day go smoothly Thank you. PLYMOUTH MOTORCYCLE CLUB A.G.M The A.G.M will be held in January 2013 (exact date will be published later). You have not seen as many events or newsletters this year because of the lack of Committee members.
