September October 2009

Hello all and welcome to the September and October edition of the club news letter, half way through September already the summers has gone !well what summer we had, the good news for us is that the scientists say that the sun is moving into a seven year hot cycle, remember El ninio god for us, not so good for central America! We still have the rideouts every Monday, and when the rideouts finish we will still be meeting every other Monday, Pete Baten is looking into guest speakers, for the later part of the year, so if the first few months of the year were anything to go by it should be very good! On a final note I need some more input from you all, if you go somewhere interesting on a ride then take your camera and let the rest of us know, the next news letter will be at the end of October, so if you do anything let me know and I will get it in the next news letter Mark Hull Editor PMCC markhull@blueyonder.co.uk

Pete Statton`s Charity Ride this year was held on Saturday the 18th July, the weather wasn't that good, so what's new this year, but still 55 bikes braved the weather, which was a brilliant turn out, all thing considered. The Ladies from Jeremiahs Journey, were there to help with collecting the ÂŁ2.00 donation per person, and Sandy helped out by selling raffle tickets up at Lee Mill.

The group set off at 14:00 and set of for Tavistock Rugby club, via a great route that took in some fantastic scenery across Dartmoor National Park, on arrival at Tavistock Rugby Club the weather seemed to improve and some 13 tents appeared, for the overnight stay following the evenings entertainment, Sue and the BBQ crew got everybody fed, whilst Pete Batten got loads of photos, of the riders arriving at the Rugby club for the web site. The evenings entertainment was fantastic, it was the first time we have gone with a band, The Rock and Roll outlaws, but they were great, the atmosphere was brilliant, Pete Statton did the raffle and the charity auction, Raising even more money for Jeremiahs Journey.

Paul, Carol, Terri-Ann and Tonie-Marie would like to thank all PMCC members, their families and friends who have supported them on this rideout in our Steph's memory and which has raised an amazing ÂŁ800 for Jeremiahs Journey. We would also like to thank Mark Hull for suggesting it, and Pete Statton for organising the event, and the marshals who have proven once again to be invaluable, and ensuring the rideout went safely and well.

Sunday ride out to Castle Coombe Probike National Motorcycle Races Ten bikes set off fron Sainsburys car park at 07:15 on the dot, and headed off up the A38 and then onto the M5. Our first stop was at Sedgemoor services for Petrol and the call of nature, the next planed stop was for Breakfast at Morrisons at Cribbs Causeway, crap service took 45 mins to get out 10 all day breakfasts, we left Morrisons and back on to the M5 North and then off on to the M4 eastbound we exited at junction 18 in hindsight 17 would have been better. Feed Me Now

Only one incident on route a holdall strapped to bike came loose and was hanging off, the person responsible shall remain nameless ! We arrived at Castle Coombe all safe and well, we had a jolly good day, there were 14 races in all, including the Sound of Thunder class, and various club championship races in classes from 50cc to 1300cc and lots of old bikes racing, like G50, 7RS, Benelli 6, Kreidler 50 a very old thing but fab to see, and the best part of all was you could wander round the pits and talk to all of the riders, owners and mechanics

In all we had a good day out, and all got home safe and well! Mac
