Transforming Ways Achieving Value cv
by Leah A. Cervantes
Change for the sake of change is pointless. You change because you want to achieve something of greater value. Transformation for the sake of transformation is meaningless. Transformation in lifework ways entail giving. It is offering something of us for the sake of getting something of greater worth for us. You give in order to gain. And they say, there is no gain without pain. So yes, you are reading my thoughts. Transformation in a lot of instances is sacrificial. There will be struggles, heartaches and discomforts but one thing ‘transformers” like us do is embrace the process of transformation as equally as we embrace the goal of transformation.
1.
FOCUS ON THE GOAL. Again, we are transforming our ways because we want to achieve value. We know we can still stretch ourselves, we can still “transform our ways.” And we know “achieving value” as a transformational goal is something worth pursuing.
2.
ANTICIPATE A NOT-SO-EASY-ROAD. All good things take time and they take effort. It is a high road. We know this for a fact, a walk or a ride uphill is more difficult than a journey downhill. If you have driven up to Baguio from Manila, you know that your engine works more driving to Baguio than from Baguio. In transformation, expect to be exhausted. Expect to get in conflict with some colleagues because there will be more opportunities to communicate. And when people in the organization decided to engage in communication, expect disagreements. However, persevere! Take heart. Disagreements when dealt with properly are healthy ways in pursuing alignment.
3.
COMMUNICATE. You have a team that has your back. They want to know where you are in your transformation journey. Let them know your successes and fallings. I tell you, you are going to have both. You may be knowledgeable and skillful. You may be wise and prudent but you can not make it alone. Everybody needs someone. When we revisited our core values and incorporated Innovation. We did not just do it because it seems to be the trend or it sounds good but because we really want to DEVELOP & IMPROVE. Innovation is both development and improvement. And any organization relies on its people for development and improvement. So we are transforming our ways in order to achieve value so we can develop and improve. And we will not be able to realize it without hearing from employees. Speak up! Do not be benchwarmers on meetings. Send that email and participate in surveys and attend focused-group discussions/meetings when you get to be invited, talk to your Supervisors. Tell us your experiences and learnings. Communicate.

Let me suggest five ways to embrace transformation:
Wow I do not snap on that matter anymore
Imagine significant decrease in losses last month My team improved on out turn-around-time
Whew Finally I am 85% of target
I checked on that report thoroughly
I have become patient with him or her
I am noticeably excelling I listen more
No lates in January 4.
I affirm my subordinates more ENJOY AND CELEBRATE MILESTONES Oftentimes we are so focused on the destination, we forgot to enjoy the journey. Find reasons to enjoy and celebrate. And you will be amazed how you will never run out of them. Enjoy the ride. Celebrate your wins.
5.
PRAY You could either admit this or not? But don’t we just want to be around intelligent people? By intelligent, I mean those who have greater/special knowledge and know how, when, and where to apply the knowledge. I just attended a weekend conference two weeks ago with some of our leaders and staff and there are just speakers that after their talks, you will say “Oh that is brilliant.” Or you are reading this book and you just said to yourself, “Amazing, I never thought of that.” Or when you were a student, you chose this class because of the Professor. Even though you know he/she is a tough one and stingy in giving grades. In the office, in the community, we just want to be around intelligent people.
THE MOST INTELLIGENT PERSON
THE ALL WISE GOD
Some-Knowing
All-knowing
Know “some-hows” to apply “some-knowledge”
Know the “all-hows” to apply “all-knowledge”
Not guaranteed because operating in an imperfect position (place, power, circumstance) WITH LIMITED CONTROL
Guaranteed because operating in a perfect position (place, power, circumstance) WITH FULL CONTROL
The most intelligent person on earth is no comparison to the All-Wise God. God is All-Wise, you can trust Him. He is All-Wise that makes Him Incomprehensible for men. Meaning, He is beyond human knowledge, beyond time, beyond space, beyond our imagination and perception. God is beyond all human dimensions or measurements. The road to transformation, even though we have a roadmap will definitely still surprise us. But nothing can surprise the All-Wise God. And nothing can keep you from His love. He died and rose from the dead for you. And when you place your faith on Him, on Jesus the Son of God, you get yourself a direct, uninterrupted line to the All-Sovereign, All-Wise and All-Powerful God. He is a prayer away. Change is good! Live with Significance One of the captivating topic that impressed me in #IDC2018 is Christ and the CEO. It speaks to my heart like God is telling me that I’m the CEO or steward of His entrustments and a measure of influence. Professionally or personally we all experience hardships. In the midst of challenges, self doubts and setbacks in life, pain tells us what is real but it also points us with more real and personal God in every circumstances.
Let our satisfaction come from believing that He has many special and creative ways to bless us beyond our expectations. There is no greater feeling than knowing that God has got your back. Be amaze and stand ablaze. You are created with significance, make an impact. "My God, How Great Thou Art” - Marilou Escaner
What struck me is that, we should not pray with our eyes on difficulties. But rather pray, talk to our Maker, with both heart and eyes focusing on Jesus. Hardship shapes our character, mold us in better form and lead us to our Potter. Let Him replace the pursuit of happiness with real joy. More than the title the world can tag you, we are stewards of such influence — as a daughter or son, a parent, a friend, a leader or a colleague. Live with a purpose and significance!

Unchanging God "Be still, and know that I am God..." Psalm 46:10 The IDC had reminded me that the God who promised Abraham descendants as many as the stars in the sky, the God who divided the Red Sea, is the same almighty God that we have right now. We can always rely on Him as He stays true to His promises. - Joseph Magcamit
Attending IDC is truly an eye opener for me. It made me realise that life will always challenge you, but we have our greater God who is faithful to us. Having the right path is not the easiest one but it is worth taking the journey.

I have been in Apple Service Center from different parts of the world such as Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, and Australia and never have I seen an Apple Specialist/Genius so dedicated to his job.
