Dear Princess Owner/Enthusiast Welcome to My Princess, the official magazine for Princess Motor Yacht Sales and its dealer partners from around Europe and the Mediterranean. In this edition we shine our spotlight on the Princess 75. She was launched this time last year, so with a full year under her belt, we thought it was perfect timing for a detailed review and as always, some stunning interior and exterior photography. As this is our Winter edition, we bring you news of our forthcoming Winter Boat Shows - your chance to escape the Winter gloom and start looking forward to next season. We have included a preview of the Princess S60 which launches in London next month. If you really want to experience the elegance of this beautiful S Class yacht, come and pay us a visit on the Princess stand. We would love to see you. For Princess Motor Yacht Sales, 2016 has been another successful year. In spite of some of the recent bumps in the market, yacht sales are still very strong and we already have a healthy forward order book for 2017. As you know, Princess has always been prolific in its new model development. This year we were lucky enough to witness the launch of four new models, including the Princess 30M which stole the show in Southampton. So far 2017 looks set to continue in the same vein. You can be reassured that there will be plenty of activity during the year, and some interesting surprises as the season progresses. Watch this space… The yachting calendar never ceases, and winter can be particularly tricky. If you are closing down your yacht for the winter months, don’t forget you can contact our aftercare department. They can advise on what work needs to be done to ensure your boat won’t suffer while not in use. The team are all busy right now with winter works, so if you haven’t done so already, wherever you are yachting, give them a call. We have just launched our new look website – www.princess.co.uk, and you’ll find the contact details for any of our departments right there.
It’s not where you go, it’s who you go with. Bentayga. Be Extraordinary.
On behalf of all of us at Princess Motor Yacht Sales, may I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

PRINCESS 75 THE EPITOME OF LUXURY, THIS STUNNING MOTOR YACHT IS OFF THE CHARTS BOTH IN STYLE AND SUBSTANCE

Owner’s state room
The real clincher on the 75 is its main deck and in particular, the simply stunning saloon Dining area
Reviewing a 75ft yacht is like reviewing a five-star hotel – it’s unlikely to be anything other than very good. It may not be exactly to your taste, but the level of quality and feeling of luxury will be undeniable. So when you get to this size of boat, it’s the little things that make the difference; the things that make you stop and stare and coerce you into picking a particular brand over another. Princess is starting with an enviable blueprint in the excellent 72, which has been a wild success for the Plymouth yard. The 75 is far more than a tweaked version of its predecessor though, with a brand new and slightly modified version of the Olesinski deep-vee hull, separate access to a breathtaking master cabin and a far larger flybridge. However, the real clincher on the 75 is its main deck and in particular, the simply stunning saloon. Rarely have I been inside a saloon that so temptingly invites you to come on in, take the weight off and relax. The first thing you notice is the totally flat deck, which runs from the transom all the way to the companionway steps forward. Then you realise that this wonderful space is being amplified by the sheer amount of light cascading in from all sides. Take a look at the profiles of the 72 and 75 and you can see exactly why the effect is so impressive.
8 | MyPrincess
The windows on the 75 are truly gigantic and even with Princess’s styling lines running through them, natural light fires in from all angles. The near floor-to-ceiling window adjacent to the dinette is a tasty superyacht flourish that can be further enhanced by the option to have a cutout in the port bulwark.
BELOW DECKS
The stylish dining table is mounted on a track so it and the eight chairs can slide away from the window and into the middle of the companionway to give more space to those sitting next to the glass. The midships galley arrangement is carried over from the 72 and differs from the 68, which has the separate master cabin access but an aft galley layout. The midships galley is great for serving the table and it’s handy to be able to hide dishes behind the sliding glass partition that is familiar to a few of Princess’s flybridge models. If you prefer, it is possible to completely enclose the galley, which is likely to be an option chosen only by those who plan to have crew on a regular basis. They’ll be happy crew, too, because the crew cabin is genuinely lovely. I’ve written many times before that some crew cabins are plush enough to offer to guests but never has that been
truer than on the 75. It’s finished in the same tasteful walnut as the rest of the interior with two spacious berths and a lovely ensuite with a separate shower cubicle. There’s full standing headroom, natural light thanks to glazing in the transom and an opening port, plus a temporary berth in the lobby so you could sleep two extra guests and still have space for one crew member at a push. Going back to the saloon, and on top of the abundant space and natural light there are some fine details that are a joy to behold. The décor is as tasteful as they come, all done in house by Princess Design Studio. The pallet is neutral and calming but the use of materials adds sparkle, as do the gorgeous furniture pieces, the fabulous pebble-like coffee table and the handsome yet comfortable chairs at the dining table. And you know how usually, to access the storage beneath a sofa you need to lift cushions and a loose lid and all in all, it’s a right pain to get to? Not on the 75, which has drawers that pull out from the sofa base to reveal timber-lined storage bins, all mounted on soft-close runners. With all the space the saloon has to offer, it struck me that there’s more than enough room for an internal staircase that leads up to the flybridge. Granted, this dying design feature would totally change the workings of the interior, but there are
people who want to be able to access and communicate with the top deck from within the saloon. Forward of the galley you’re confronted by two staircases, one forward to the three rather lovely guest cabins and one that leads aft, past a window just above the waterline and into the full-beam master cabin – and what a cabin it is. I genuinely can’t see what Princess could do to improve it. The floor is flat all the way around, with plentiful headroom, two full-height hanging wardrobes, a settee to starboard and a desk and vanity area to port. It has a sumptuous mix of fabric, leather, matt walnut and highly polished lacquer and, of course, the signature singlepiece hull windows. That’s before you even get to the heads, decked out with marble counters, his ’n’ hers sinks and huge shower stall with its own square hull window. Guests won’t be moaning either, because even the twin cabin to port is amazingly spacious and comfortable with its own ensuite. The layout on the boat we tested comprised a double opposite, whose ensuite is also used as the day heads, and the pick of the guest accommodation forward in the form of the ensuite VIP cabin. You can’t play around too much with the layout here but if you want to use the boat for charter, you can have two twins with electric sliding berths to add to the versatility of the accommodation.

ON THE SURFACE There’s so much space on the flybridge you can choose between having a fixed sunpad and crane, a sunpad and wetbar or even a hot tub.
If it were a hotel, it would have six stars over the front door.
On deck, the biggest improvement over the boat this one replaces is the size and layout of the flybridge. So much space is there aft that you can choose between having a fixed sunpad and crane (like on the boat we were on), sunpad and wet-bar, or go for the full superyacht effect and opt for a hot tub. It’s the design of the helm and surrounding area that I really like though, with twin helm seats at a neat, well-designed helm with enough space around the chairs that occupants can come and go without disturbing each other. Flanking this area is a forward-facing bench that converts to a small sunpad to starboard and chaise longue to port. These two seating areas are a great focal point for everyone to cluster around when the boat is on the move and the view is second to none. In many ways I prefer the upper helm to the one below, though they’re both pretty spotless. The flybridge helm just fitted me a little better, allowing me to get that bit closer to the helm and feel more involved in the action; the plotters especially are a stretch at the lower helm. The lower helm looks great with classy, anti-glare materials and plenty of space to stow odds and ends. The difference between a 75ft yacht and a five-star hotel is that I’m yet to find a hotel fitted with a pair of MAN 1,800hp V12 diesel engines. There are also engine options from Caterpillar with either 1,622hp or 1,723hp and respective top speeds of 33 and 34 knots. Hardly shabby, but the MAN V12s feel like they have the power of the gods behind them. Barrel-chested waves of torque thrust the closeto 50-tonne 75 up to a top speed of 34.3 knots on test, and that was with an 88% fuel load on board. But as fun as it is to romp along at this speed (and terrifying when you look at the 691lph fuel usage) the point of these larger engines is more the variety of cruising they offer. With a pair of Sleipner fins fitted keeping the boat rock steady, you could legitimately cruise at 9 knots to give a cruising range of 2,100 miles, but it’s just as feasible to thunder along at 30 knots. There is a real sweet spot at 1,800rpm where good progress is being made at 24 knots, fuel is a punchy but not ridiculous 383lph and sounds levels are almost unbelievably quiet. At the helm, I measured just 60 dB(A) and only 1 dB(A) more, closer to the engines in the saloon. At those levels you can still whisper and hear each other, all the while travelling at nearly 25 knots. The tweaks to the Olesinski hull form mean that though the forward sections are still reasonably fine, the aft sections are slightly flatter to decrease planing time and hopefully boost fuel economy. In practice, the transition from displacement to planing is so smooth thanks to those monstrous engines, that it’s tricky to decipher whether it’s the engines doing the work or the hull. But, the combination is so refined, it doesn’t really matter. Handling is pretty ponderous but then it’s sort of supposed to be; the steering, though, is masterful. It’s beautifully weighted and direct with only a handful of turns needed to spin from lock to lock. The whole time, the Princess emblem stays stubbornly upright within the steering wheel hub, Rolls-Royce style.
VERDICT Here we have a boat with four stunning, spacious ensuite cabins, a spellbinding saloon, huge flybridge, fantastic engineroom, sumptuous design and detailing and barnstorming performance. Picking things for the yard to improve on is like critiquing the tone of Adele’s voice. If the list boils down to replacing some tacky air vents on the lower helm and extending the wind deflector on the upper helm because it gets a bit blowy at speed, listen out for a barrel bottom being scraped. The 75 Motor Yacht is an absolute masterpiece, a thoroughly worthy successor to the 72 and one of the best that Princess has ever made. If it were a hotel, it would have six stars over the front door. For more information visit www.princess.co.uk

PRINCESS CHARTER
Explore the Cote D’Azur
OUR PICK GRASSE Pay a visit to the World’s perfume capital, and behold the endless fields of lavender that have become synonymous with the landscape of Provence. If you’ve got time, many of the perfumeries offer free tours of their factories. If not, pick up a bottle of perfume in picturesque Grasse and breathe in the heady scent of lavender.
Never Enough is berthed in the Cap D’Antibes, South of France. The area is one of the favourite destinations of the international Jet Set. It reaches from Saint Tropez and Cannes to the principality of Monaco, along a rugged coastline that’s broken only by long stretches of golden sand – some of the most glamorous beaches in the world. Nice Away from the glitz and glamour there’s still plenty of opportunity to escape the crowds and absorb the rich cultural heritage and picturesque landscape of the region. The verdant countryside is dotted with ancient chateaux and medieval villages that are unchanged through the decades, and offer wonderful exploring for those wanting peace and quiet. The French are passionate about food, and no more so than on the Cote D’Azur, where eating out is a way of life. There is an abundance of locally produced vegetables, fresh seafood and soups for which the area is famous. If you are eating on board, fresh produce can be bought daily at the local markets, alongside nut and olive breads dipped in olive oil.
MONACO No trip to the Cote D’Azur is complete (especially by yacht) without a visit to this tiny French Principality. Monaco is known the world over for its glamour, especially when the Grand Prix comes to town. If you are planning to be in Monaco for the Grand Prix, we will need to know well in advance as berths close by can be difficult to secure.
NICE Overlooking the azure waters of the Mediterranean, Nice is a fine balance of old and new, contrasting the winding streets of the Vielle Ville and its colourful shops and galleries, with the glitz and glamour of its many designer boutiques and fashion houses. Choose high octane retail therapy, or you can while away a few quiet hours at one of the many little cafes that line the narrow streets, and just let the world go by. Menton MENTON The town of Menton offers the same picture-postcard beauty of the better known coastal villages of the Cote D’Azur but without the visitors. Out of season, beaches are almost deserted, and there is space to stroll uninhibited through its streets and gardens. In February, the town comes alive with its Lemon Festival, a colourful celebration of Spring, with some impressive floats made almost entirely of oranges and lemons. Enjoying a cruise in this region of the West Mediterranean could be as easy as sitting down and letting us do the rest.

SEPTEMBER 2016
BOAT SHOW IN PICTURES
Southampton Boat Show Mayflower Marina 16 - 25 September
Held at the Mayflower Marina in Southampton from 16th – 25th September. The Southampton Boat Show offered a fun-filled day out as well as a feast of products and equipment for the dedicated boater. While the yachting world held its breath post-Brexit, there was no sign of any slowdown, judging by the numbers of visitors who came to see Princess. In the Princess display, there were 12 models in all from across the range, with debuts from the Princess 75, Princess V58, and the Princess 30M, as well as the Princess 49, which was revealed for the first time ever in the UK. It was the Princess 30M that stole the show. This stunning 100ft superyacht was by far the largest boat on the water and a worthy exemplar of Princess craftsmanship and design, down to the smallest detail. As the newest Princess model on display, the Princess 49 proved as popular with visitors as anticipated. This all-new Flybridge yacht offers exceptional space, yet with the ease of handling associated with her IPS pod drive system.

OUR DEALER PARTNER: PRINCESS YACHTS MENORCA
5 Reasons To Cruise Menorca In 2017 1
The Stunning Coastline Characterised by white sandy beaches, turquoise blue waters and nestled amongst pretty pine trees, Menorca’s calas offer some of the most beautiful anchorages anywhere in Spain. With many calas both free of building development and only accessible by boat, it is easy to find a safe and tranquil spot to drop anchor and spend the day, or overnight on-board, even in the height of summer. Some of our favourite spots include Isla de Colom, Cala Mitjana, Cala de Algaiarens, Cala Macarella and Cala Trebalúger

The Cami de Cavalls Literally meaning “Path of Horses”, the Cami de Cavalls is an ancient path of 186km that encircles the island. Since its full restoration in 2011 the path attracts many avid walkers and is a great way to discover the stunning and diverse scenery of Menorca’s coastline. Its route has been divided into 20 different stages, from 5-14km, which range in difficulty from an easy stroll to a more challenging hike. An ideal way to spend a day on terra firma.
Menorca’s Fiestas Menorca loves a celebration and in summer, there is a traditional horse fiesta almost every week as each of the towns of the island celebrate their own patron saint. The Menorcan horse is central to all of the summer fiestas and a cavalcade of riders (known locally as “Caixers”), parade through the town on black stallions and then perform the thrilling “Jaleo”, where each horse rises up on its rear legs to loud and lively music. The Jaleo is not seen anywhere else in the world and provides a heady experience of local culture that should not be missed by any visitor to the

Fabulous Food and Restaurants Caldereta de Langosta (or lobster stew) is the dish to try when visiting Menorca. Fornells, a pretty village in the north of the island, is famous for its calderetas and the restaurants here offer some of the best in Menorca. As a sheltered port providing visitor berths, buoys, fuel and provisioning, Fornells is also a great cruising stop-off point. For good dining, visitors are spoilt for choice with some excellent restaurants offering contemporary, first-class cuisine. For a special occasion, one of our top picks would be the restaurant at Torralbenc. Torralbenc is a traditional Menorcan farm that has been renovated into luxury accommodation. The restaurant is open to guests every evening during the summer and the best tables can be found on the terrace overlooking the Torralbenc vineyards. The restaurant offers modern Mediterranean cuisine, using only local and seasonal products, and the restaurant prides itself on its flawless service (www.torralbenc.com). Another favourite amongst boat owners who know the island well is Pan y Vino. A charming rural restaurant run by a husband and wife team

OWNER’S STORY
John Boyle The Long Way Home How many London based professionals trudging to work and back every day dream of giving it all up for a quiet life in the country? After qualifying as a solicitor in nineteen eighty and following two years of commercial law in the city, John Boyle certainly shared that dream. But unlike most, he actually did something about it. John moved to Cornwall and set up his own law firm, operating as a criminal lawyer. ‘You wouldn’t think there would be much demand for a criminal lawyer in sleepy Cornwall’ says John, ‘but you’d be surprised. Cornwall has its own challenges, including some of the biggest drugs importation cases in the UK’. It wasn’t long before John found himself with a thriving business, helped in no small part by being one of a small handful of lawyers in Cornwall at the time trained and qualified to represent in the Crown Court. And there you might expect the story to end - escape from the rat race, thriving business, happy ever after. But for John, it was just the beginning of an incredible career transformation.
‘A friend of mine lives in the Cayman Islands and I’d visit him quite regularly. With business going well, I treated myself to an underwater video camera. It was just for a bit of fun really, but there was a firm in Penzance that made surf videos. In their studio we edited “Caymania”, which I thought might sell a few video copies through magazines. But television stations showed an interest – my first sale was to Cyprus TV for $250; and then, to my amazement, National Geographic bought rights to the film! This was back in the days before big budget BBC productions, and with hindsight National Geographic would buy anything back then that featured coral reefs and sharks. But at the time I was blown away’. Not long after that, a documentary John made in Costa Rica sold to Discovery.
from below the surface to broaden his cinematic reach. ‘We’ve made tourism films, worked on the election campaign for the President of the Seychelles, and we’ve shot two videos for pop icon Katrina And The Waves’. His next project is seeking out remains of WW2 in the jungles of Papua New Guinea. John has even produced a film about the Somali pirates, and written a fascinating book about the experience, ‘Blood Ransom: Stories From The Front Line In The War Against Somali Pirates’. He’s also filmed in Cuba, creating ‘Castro’s Secret Reef’, a movie about what was once Fidel Castro’s personal diving playground,
“...to my amazement, National Geographic first film “Caymania” sold bought rights to the film!” Johns better than he predicted Flushed with his success, John started filming and selling more. ‘Between 1990 and 2000 I was running the law firm and making documentaries - mostly underwater’. In 2000 John decided to switch to full time film production and sold the law firm. ‘I earn a tenth of the money but I’m ten times happier’ he jokes. Based in an attic studio in Porthleven on the south coast of Cornwall, Shark Bay Films, John’s company, has produced over thirty underwater films that have sold to television stations worldwide and won multiple international awards. But like a massively speeded up story of evolution, John has emerged
There’s an aquatic theme to most of John’s work, and it extends even to his leisure time. ‘I’ve had boats ever since moving to Cornwall’ explains John. ‘I started with a small dory, but my first proper boat was a Sealine S28. It was when I upgraded to a Sealine S34 that I started to consider combining my pleasure boating with my film production work’. The result was a hugely popular series in Motor Boats Monthly magazine supported by YouTube videos, detailing a round Britain cruise called ‘The Great Motor Boat Tour’. A year later, buoyed by its success, John did the same again, but this time he headed across the Bay of Biscay to Northern Spain. ‘Our mission was simply to go

Thinking about buying a boat?
much further than people normally do with this sort of boat - to have an aim rather than just burning fuel’. With a burgeoning passion for long distance cruising, John decided to upgrade again, this time to Princess. ‘I saw a V39 in Southampton purely by chance. I fell in love with it on sight, and kept wandering back for another look’. A sea trial with Princess Motor Yacht Sales in Plymouth followed. ‘Richard Clarke looked after us brilliantly, but we couldn’t quite get to the figure I needed on a new boat’. However all was not lost; a little while later John spotted a one year old V39 in Mallorca and a deal was struck. All that remained was to get that boat back to Falmouth, which for most people would be a simple case of shipping it back. But as you’ve probably gathered by now, John is not ‘most people’. ‘There was only one way that boat was coming home - we’d sail it back, and we’d make a film and a magazine feature in the process’. The result was called ‘The Long Way Home’, serialised in Motor Boat & Yachting and again, published on YouTube. And it was no straight delivery run. ‘When we got to Gibraltar I realised that we were less than ten miles from North Africa. It would have been rude not to…’ One of John’s favourite photos is of his V39 moored in Morocco with a camel tethered to it.

The return trip, like most of John’s adventures, was not without excitement. ‘A couple of times we found ourselves in some seriously challenging conditions, but the boat was a revelation, massively impressive. It might have been a little scary at times, but it never felt unsafe’. Since then John and his Princess have featured in ‘Secret Cornwall’ for Motor Boat & Yachting, complete with some superb aerial footage of both boat and scenery (again, you’ll find it on YouTube). And more recently he’s been on another amazing adventure for MBY, to be published soon. ‘I can’t say too much about this one as it’s not been published yet’ smiles John, ‘suffice to say, I can’t imagine there are that many Princess V39s that have visited both Africa and the Arctic Circle…’

“Such a facility housing four luxury marques in one location will be a huge attraction”
Rybrook Bristol IS OPEN
Richard Clarke, Sales Manager of Princess Motor Yacht Sales South West
A Princess V48 Open made a surprise appearance at the launch of Rybrook’s brand new Specialist Cars Showroom in September.
Rybrook is the sister company of Princess Motor Yacht Sales, so the inclusion of a Princess as part of the evening’s celebrations was an exciting addition for the 400 plus guests in attendance. Work started on the new facility back in October 2015. It now offers a prime selection of new and pre-owned vehicles from each of the four marques, as well as a Specialist Cars showroom, which displays used vehicles from other high specification prestige marques. The location is truly impressive. It features a single entrance and vast lobby area, customer lounge, car handover suite, as well as a ten bay workshop and parking for over 40 cars.
The event took place on Thursday 22nd September to mark the opening of the Cribb’s Causeway facility. The new showroom will allow customers in the South West to experience four of the most prestigious automotive brands in the world; Bentley, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Rolls Royce, all in one exceptional location.
While guests roved from showroom to showroom enjoying the very best of these four automotive brands, a step into the state-of-the art Rybrook Workshop provided a unique party vibe followed by a final move outside into the world of Princess, where the V48 Open awaited, resplendent under her electric blue canopy.
Situated just minutes away from the M5 Rybrook Specialist Cars, Bristol is well placed for customers visiting from around the region, so the partnership that has already been forged between Rybrook and Princess Motor Yacht Sales, South West, is set to grow. Richard Clarke, Sales Manager of Princess Motor Yacht Sales South West commented: “We are extremely excited about Rybrook Specialist Cars, Bristol. Many of our customers in the South West are already car enthusiasts, so it goes without saying that having such a facility housing four luxury marques in one location will be a huge attraction. We are also hoping that one or two Rybrook customers may just take to yachting! They experienced a small taste of Princess at the launch in September, so we will certainly be looking to create a number of joint activities for both Rybrook and Princess customers in the future.”

PRINCESS NEWS
Princess Driving Mallorca Rally As an official round of the FAIB Rally Championship Series, the quality of entries was of the highest level, with some very serious machinery pitched against each other.
For the first time ever, Princess Motor Yacht Sales were sponsors of the prestigious Driving Mallorca Rally – a ten stage rally around the fabulous roads and beautiful scenery of Mallorca.
The event took place from the 28th-29th October. After formal scrutineering on Friday evening, it was a very early start at the Rally HQ in the Port of Palma, when a huge variety of cars lined up to take 10 closed road stages over 350km of gruelling driving across the island. And we really were treated to some outstanding examples of competition machinery. Icons included a Lancia Stratos, Mitsubishi Evo, and examples from Renault, Peugeot, Porsche and Ford. As well as the competition categories, the inclusion of a ‘Parade’ class enabled owners of street legal cars to take part as well; albeit at a more sedate pace!

and even an AC Cobra and Ford Mustang. The stages took in the Coll De Sa Creu, Calvia, Es Capdella and Andratx in the morning. Sinuous mountain roads with endless hairpins and full of potential hazards. The afternoon moved into the centre of the island with fast sweeping sectors around Lloseta, alara Sencelles and Algaida. Some of these roads had never been closed for rallying before, which made it even more exciting! The day ended where it had started – back in Palma where the results were calculated, and prizes were handed out by our very own Julian Milatz, representing Princess. It was a hugely successful event that was enjoyed by everyone who took part – definitely one to look out for next year.
A wide range of cars took advantage of this amazing opportunity. Take the nimble little Lotus Elan, a Jaguar E-Type V12, the sublime Alfa Romeo 4C

TECH TALK

Underwater lights are nothing new of course, and colour changing lights have been on the market for a little while. But this latest version from Lumishore brings something extra to the party. A 1.5 inch controller links to the lights via wi-fi, avoiding the need to integrate network control into your boat’s wiring. Allowing full spectrum colour change for limitless colour options, and the ability to pre-program cycles, speeds, sweeps, modes and brightness, the SMX152 offers unprecedented control. You can even link to them from your iPhone via the Lumi-App.

VOLVO PENTA GLASS COCKPIT
ULTRA MARINE - ULTRA ANCHOR AND FLIP SWIVEL An anchor is an anchor surely? Well, not when it’s the new Ultra anchor. For a start, it’s crafted from 316 stainless steel and hand polished, so it looks fantastic. But it’s what it does that is most impressive. Available in sizes from 5kg to 360kg, the key to the Ultra Anchor is weight distribution. So the tip is lead filled but the shank is hollow, meaning it always hits the seabed in the optimum position for quick setting. Side wing plates stabilise the anchor and help it dig deep in the event of lateral drag while the ‘foul bar’ (that slim bar on the front) avoids the chain wrapping itself around the anchor. Finally, a flip swivel ensures that the anchor ‘self-rights’ on recovery to always slot into your stem head roller the right way up.
MASTERVOLT CHARGEMASTER PLUS: Battery charging might not be the sexiest of accessories, but it’s arguably one of the most useful, given the amount of equipment now reliant on a reliable power supply. The new ChargeMaster PLUS is all about simplification and system adaptability. So it can integrate battery switches, charge twelve volt batteries in a twenty four volt system without requiring extra components, priority charge the most depleted batteries, handle worldwide AC voltages and frequencies whilst resisting large voltage fluctuations and high temperatures and link to your engine alternators when underway.
Ever sat at a waterside bar looking at your boat and wondering whether you should raise your hydraulic bimini or close your sunroof? Well, if you’re within thirty metres and have the Makeswitch control module installed then you can do all of this from within an app on your smartphone without leaving your seat. More Sangria please, barkeep!
Glass cockpit is a system of complete integration for all of your electronics into touch screens, from engine telemetry to navigation information such as your chart plotter and radar, right through to even hi fi control. Key to the Glass Cockpit system is customisability. For a start, there are a wide variety of screen sizes from seven to twenty four inch, so you can max out your helm station real estate. But what’s really cunning is the ability to easily adjust the layout to suit your priorities and requirements. You can even save your layouts in menu form, so you might have a cruising layout for out at sea that majors on chart plotter and engine instrumentation. But upon entering port another pre-select might switch priority to your echo sounder, zoom your chart in and engage exterior cameras. It’s totally programmable.

Tell us a little about BHIB? BHIB is a very well established Chartered Insurance Broker based in the UK with offices in Leicester and Northampton. That Chartered status is very important as it’s basically the ‘gold standard’ for insurance brokers, the benchmark of professional excellence and integrity.
What are the key benefits? There are many benefits to the ‘Prestige’ policy. Key features include five million pounds third party indemnity, replacement vessel cover, skipper or crewed charter cover, no policy excess whilst in a ‘secure marine berth’ or ‘total loss’, personal accident cover, cover for personal effects, cover for valuables, and so forth. It basically extends cover to include most items of concern for larger motor yachts.

Based in Northampton, the original home of Princess Motor Yacht Sales, the link between BHIB Insurance Brokers and Princess Motor Yacht Sales goes way back to the latter’s inception more than fifty years ago. Building on the strength and solid foundation of that relationship, the two companies have created the perfect insurance product for Princess yacht owners called Princess Protect.
