Action from The Women’s Nations Cup Final
England defeated in Final 8-2 win for Argentina Three teams, USA, England and Argentina, took part in The Women’s Nations Cup tournament, which was played in an eight chukka, 4½ minute format and included two 10 goal players (Hazel Jackson and Lía Salvo) and six players who had taken part in The V HSBC Women’s Argentine Open. The first day of play on Monday 13 December saw England narrowly defeat USA, 8½-7, while the second day of action saw a 9½-6 win for Argentina against USA,
which meant it was Argentina vs England in the Final on Thursday 16 December Final in Palermo. On the day of the Final, Lia Salvo led her Argentine side with strong defence combined with an impressive offense, which saw England only able to score from two penalties, while Milagros Sánchez was the top goal scorer of the tournament with 10 goals; it has been a strong season for Sánchez who was also the top goal scorer of The V HSBC
