Graphic Design and Multimedia Art is a field of study built on ten years of working in an international design environment and the experience of moving educational and creative activity into the realm of the Internet, an intensive development of blended learning. Anticipating the growth of the design market for the Internet and Smart Environments, the Graphic Design and Multimedia Art programme prepares graduates to work for an international community which uses digital tools in extended reality, taking into account both real and virtual environments.
The programme is based on three components: humanism and theory (to understand the customs and principles of communication in a multicultural world), art and design (to learn how to solve design problems in extended reality) and computer science (to acquire knowledge and skills in the use of existing computer tools and techniques). Classes and workshops are taught by artists, designers and engineers
representing different nationalities, cultures and academic backgrounds. The scope of design problems considered goes beyond local level, providing an opportunity to see the role of the contemporary designer in the context of the global needs of civilisation. Selected projects, created in collaboration with representatives of various companies and institutions, are realised and implemented. This gives you the opportunity to test your skills during your studies.
The Graphic Design and Multimedia Art programme is all about practice and developing design/artistic skills through the use of modern applications to create visual works in 2D and 3D. Students work on different projects on a daily basis using Unity, Blender, Maya, TouchDesigner and Adobe cc software. Collaboration with our partners – various educational and cultural institutions – provides the opportunity to create attractive and unique visual, luminous, musical and interactive creations.

PJAIT BRANCH IN BYTOM
First courses at the Faculty of Information Technology at the PJA it branch in Bytom will start in the 2023/2024 academic year. The Faculty’s programme is modelled on the one implemented at its parent unit in Warsaw, which is highly rated by employers. What sets PJA it Bytom apart is the implementation of a modern, project-based learning method (PBL). It consists of students’ independent work, during a predetermined period of time, to solve a particular problem. This makes our students think outside the box and provides them with project management skills. This method also teaches students creative and critical thinking as well as gives them the courage to experiment in order to find an optimal and practical solutions to a problem. Such skills are extremely valued on the labour market, especially in the era of the upcoming Industry 4.0.
The topics implemented as part of PBL are initiated by the Faculty’s partners in the business community. As part of the projects carried out from the first year of study, students learn about practical software engineering methodologies. This knowledge, though required in the industry, is usually neglected by more theory-oriented study programmes. The ability to choose PBL topics reinforces the student's commitment and allows for the practical use of acquired theoretical knowledge. By participating in project-based learning, students practice setting goals, phasing tasks as well as communication and cooperation. The main learning outcomes of projects carried out by our students are: use of programming languages, development of teamwork skills as well as leadership qualities.
Faculty of Information Technology at PJA it Bytom offers full-time and part-time studies. Both full-time and part-time mode consists of 7 semesters. After the second year of study, students choose from a vast range of specialisations according to their interests.
A practice-oriented profile of PJA it Bytom is grounded in the project-based learning method. It became possible thanks to unique equipment and laboratory facilities of the Research and Development Centre (c BR) located in the same building. The c BR has been operating since 2015, carrying
out, in collaboration with other research units, hospitals and entrepreneurs, a number of innovative projects concerning, for example: autonomous drone swarms, video data acquisition and analysis in facial recognition process or posture and gait analysis in the diagnosis of movement disorders.

An additional advantage of this class is the obligation to take an Oriental language course. Students can also participate in events promoting Japanese culture organised by the High School and the Academy.
Students of the Arts and Computer Science class discover both theory and artistic practice. They learn the secrets of the style and technique of masters from the past and try their hand at classical painting and sculpting. Finally, students combine their experience with the classics with the possibilities offered by new computer technologies and thus they enter the world of modern art, which provides an artist with unlimited possibilities.
