12 LESSONS LEARNED FROM LISA ELDRIDGE Lisa Eldridge, makeup artist extraordinaire, has worked with every A-list celebrity under the sun, and makes the most useful and beautiful makeup tutorials. As of recently she is also the creative director of Lancôme makeup. I really don’t know how she does it all, but lucky for us she continues to create YouTube videos for us common folk and I want to mention a few of the things I’ve learned from my makeup idol. Ps. She has the most amazing style when it comes to her wardrobe and home. If you start googling her, you won’t be able to stop. I warned you. You’ll be on a steep Pinterest worthy spiral guaranteed! 1. Wash your brushes with conditioner When it comes to tools, treating your brushes properly will make a huge difference. You want to make sure you keep your brushes clean to prevent the spreading of bacteria. This doesn’t mean spending tons of money on fancy cleaners. If the world’s leading makeup artist says it’s ok to use conditioner - I’m game! In fact she said cheap conditioner is totally fine. Once you’re done washing your brushes, simply leave them over an edge to dry. 2. It’s ok to use your hands to apply makeup Sure, make sure your hands are clean, but you don’t always need a brush, a sponge, or a fancy shmancy “Beauty Blender”. Your fingers will work just fine! Since you already know how to use those you’ll be a pro at foundation application pronto. 3. You don’t need to apply foundation all over your face Once you find the perfect shade of foundation, which will blend seamlessly into your face, you don’t have to use it everywhere. You can apply foundation just in the middle of your face if that’s all you need. Keep in mind that you will need different foundations depending on the season - darker in the summer, lighter in the winter. 4. Use concealer around your mouth/ laugh lines This is a great tip! I used to think that concealer is only for your under-eyes but it ain’t so! Apply concealer anywhere you have a bit of redness to achieve a truly flawless complexion.

Use a clean kabuki brush to blend and remove the very top layer of your foundation for a more natural, less made-up look. 6. Applying foundation in daylight will yield the best results Not always an option, but if you can stand closer to your window in the morning and take advantage of natural light you’ll get best results. If it’s winter and it’s still dark when you’re doing your makeup...I’m sorry. I hear ya, and I feel your pain. 7. Bleach unwanted eyebrow hairs Rather than over-plucking, you can bleach unwanted eyebrow hairs. This is mostly applicable for the strays on top on your brows. If it’s your first time, make sure you’re not allergic first. Don’t do this right before a big event. Just in case. 8. Smokey eyes first, face later When creating a smokey eye, apply eye makeup first and face makeup second. This will give you a chance to pick up any eye shadow droppings and make sure the canvas is clean before you go ahead with foundation.
9. Look down when applying eyeliner When applying eyeliner, look down into a mirror to make getting close to your lashes easier. 10. Don’t rub! To remove eye make up, first place half a cotton pad under each eye, then put makeup remover on 2 cotton pads and just hold over your eyes gently pressing in. This way you’re not rubbing and irritating your eyes. The makeup will slowly detach, making it easier to wash off. 11. Stain, blot, blend, lipstick. For long lasting lip colour, stain your lips first with your lipstick, really pressing the colours into your lip. You don’t want excess at this point. Blend with a lip brush, blot your lips, outline, and then proceed with the second layer of your lipstick. 12. Smiling makes outlining your lips easier I always lose my natural lip line so I think this is good to know. Also keep in mind that you don’t need a lip pencil to outline your lips, a lip brush is perfect. If you are using a lip pencil make sure it’s the same colours or lighter than your lip colour. No one wants harsh 80’s lines. By watching her videos I get the feeling that Lisa knows absolutely everything about makeup, which is probably not far from the truth. The amazing thing about Lisa Eldridge though, is that she is relatable, and a great teacher. The end results are always achievable even if, at first, enviable. I love that she teaches you to forget about rules, and that no colour is off limits! Enjoy, experiment, and keep looking fabulous!

As a member of the Pussycat Dolls, Jessica Sutta— for the m o s t part—never got the opportunity to showcase her talent as a vocalist. Lead Doll Nicole Scherzinger was given the spotlight while the other girls were relegated to playing the unofficial roles of her back-up dancers. The group disbanded in 2010, but Sutta has made up for lost time by being front and centre in her solo career and on the charts. Sutta is currently featured as a guest vocalist on the Dave Audé song, Gonna Get U, a recent number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play. The collaboration should be familiar to dance music aficionados, especially those who soaked the ‘90s anthems. The song is a reworking of the 1992 hit, I’m Gonna Get You by Bizarre Inc. But this is not the first time that Audé and Sutta peaked at number 1 on that chart. She was also featured on his 2007 smash, Make It Last. Sutta has built up a great chemistry with the producer, DJ and remixer who acted as a sort of mentor early on in her career. “I have been working with Dave for many years now and he really developed me as an artist in the beginning,” reflected Sutta about their relationship. “That was
a great achievement—to get our second number 1 together.“ But the singer, songwriter, dancer and actress is more than capable of getting by without a little help from her friends. Her first official solo single, Show Me, was number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs in 2011. If you are keeping score, then you may want to take note of the fact that Sutta is the first and only ex-Pussycat Doll member to reach number 1 on any chart. No small feat for a woman who came out of a group where Scherzinger was heralded as the one to watch. In the video for Gonna Get You, Sutta shows off a new short and sassy haircut, which is a far cry from the cascading tresses that she had become known for sporting. “It was time,” she said of the new ‘do. “I felt like I’ve grown into a completely different and stronger woman, and I just felt the need to shed some skin. It was liberating because I wasn’t hiding behind hair anymore. Hair is very important to a woman and to actually cut it—that’s exciting and thrilling and worth it for sure.“ Sutta also shows off her playful side in the video. The edgier dance moves coupled with an all-black ensemble and Doc Martens, makes for a more assertive woman who seems to be carving out her independence. ”I like the direction I’m going choreography-wise,” she explained. “It is a little rougher and has a hip hop
element to it. It’s still sexy and it still makes you feel good, but I feel like it’s time to be more bad ass.” Now that she is flying solo, Sutta has put a lot of effort into developing her voice. “My voice has grown through learning how to really sing and perfecting it as much as I can in my own style,” she said. ”I have been able to have my own voice as well. It has been an amazing journey in the last five years.” Sutta’s long-awaited solo CD, Feline Resurrection, is slated to be released this year, but don’t let the title fool you—this is not the Pussycat Dolls 2.0. “Feline Resurrection represents when a pussycat dies and it comes back to life and I believe that really signifies where I am in my life today,” said Sutta. “I’ve grown so much in the last five years and I’ve gotten even stronger in the last two years. And I believe that this record is a reflection of my growth and life now.”

hese Epic Blend Lip Balm samples came at the perfect time because my lips were constantly chapped, dry, and were actually hurting from the lack of moisture. Let me get right to it and tell you that these are AWESOME!! Why? Well first of all this is the ingredient list: Yes, all of the ingredients are pronounceable and include sunflower seed oil, beeswax, coconut oil, hemp seed oil, and cocoa butter. And to boot these are also petroleum-free, gluten-free, non-GMO and cruelty-free. It feels good knowing that you aren’t putting harmful chemicals on your lips. But moreover, this product actually works! Aside from the pretty packaging and amazing ingredients, it does what it promises to: “Smooth Lips Without the Greasies”. As soon as you apply this lip balm you’re on your way to healthier, smoother, non-flaky lips. Prior to trying Epic Blend I was using another natural lip balm by a pretty big brand (don’t want to bash anyone so I’ll withhold the name), and I found that my lips felt great literally for about 5 seconds after I applied the balm.
After that the moisture dissipated and it didn’t actually heal my lips. I found myself applying and reapplying that balm because I was dependent on that blissful 5 second period, but never experienced results. That’s why I was so happy with Epic Blend - not only do you lips feel great immediately after application, but also for a prolonged period thereafter. The moisture seeps into your lips, and although you feel they continued hydration your lips won’t feel greasy… which is awesome! So all in all, I’m really ecstatic to announce that my lips are finally healed!!! They are no longer flaky and dry but are smooth and healthy. She claims he cheated on her with Geri Halliwell aka Ginger Spice, and the woman who would go to be his future wife, Rebecca Romijn. ‘I was being two-timed for one of the lesser Spices?’ Rancic writes (via Page Six), claiming that when she confronted the ‘Stand by Me’ actor, he admitted the indiscretion with as ‘much emotion as the customer-service representative who tells you your bags missed the flight.’ The pair got back together in 2004 and apparently even discussed marriage, until Rancic says O’Connell’s wandering eye flared up again at the Maxim’s 100
Hottest Women party. ‘Little did I know he was in the VIP area, talking up Rebecca [Romijn]. Even if the person is a jerk, it always reminds me of someone being unable to let go of their past. Were I Guiliana, I would not have even bothered giving Jerry space in my book. But the bigger concern here is that Giuliana should have let the relationship die when Jerry

But if she wasn’t willing to pay him a $30 million divorce settlement, Nick figured he may as well approach Simon & Schuster and write his tell-all, presumably about what a harrowing experience it was being married to Mariah. I hate to use a big word like “blackmail,” but I will. Telling Mariah,
“Give me $30 million or else” is manipulation at its finest. What’s worse is that they have children. Nick’s so intent on being paid that he’s willing to smear the mother of his kids. As for Mariah, I’m glad she’s not saying a word. She’s staying completely above the fray. Were I her, Nick’s threats (or promises) to write his little sob story wouldn’t make me flinch. Let him show the world how worthless he is. If the public wants to pay to hear his nonsense, let them line his pockets. Far be it from Mariah to waste a dime on this fool. ANNA KENDRICK has expressed her disdain after learning her pal MAE WHITMAN has been replaced in the upcoming INDEPENDENCE DAY sequel. Former child star Whitman portrayed First Daughter Patricia Whitmore in the 1996 alien blockbuster, but she won’t be reprising the part for director Roland Emmerich’s follow-up. Maika Monroe was announced as the latest cast member - she will romance new leading man Liam Hemsworth in the sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Whitman didn’t even make the shortlist for the sci-fi action film. Outraged fans took to Twitter to blast the decision, and Kendrick was among the angry critics. The actress, who worked with Whitman on 2010 movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, tweeted, “What the actual f**k? (Whitman) is talented as hell, and JUST proved she can carry a film. Actress TRACEE ELLIS ROSS hated her onscreen TV husband ANTHONY ANDERSON when they first met 15 years ago, because he was a little too honest and unfiltered. The couple play husband and wife on U.S. comedy Black-ish, but Ross admits she really didn't like the guy who was destined to play her significant other when they met while co-hosting the Vibe Awards. She explains, "At the time I did not know Anthony. Now I know that Anthony has a heart of gold (but) it's also covered with shards of glass... I was experiencing a shard of glass." And during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Anderson reminded his co-star just how unfiltered he can be when he asked her if she farted onstage when they were hosting the Vibe Awards together. A shocked Ross responded, "Oh my God... There was a smell, he thought he heard a sound; he's got voices in his head... and he said it in front (of the audience)... I was offended and I didn't think it was nice and I got upset and then there were other things that had occurred after that." But Ross didn’t let her past experiences with her TV husband wreck their chemistry on the set of Black-ish. She adds, “I don’t hold grudges... but I do remember things.”

A sequel to DENZEL WASHINGTON’s hit 2014 action film THE EQUALIZER is in the works. The big screen adaptation of the hit 1980s TV series of the same name raked in almost $200 million at the global box office last year (14), and now Sony executives have greenlighted a follow-up.The Equalizer follow-up will be the Oscar winner’s first-ever sequel.

ASHTON KUTCHER’s practical joke show PUNK’D is heading back to TV. The programme, which featured the movie star playing pranks on celebrities, ran from 2003 to 2007 on MTV and enjoyed a revival special in 2012, but now bosses at U.S. cable network BET are hoping to pick up the show.It isn’t known if Kutcher will be part of the latest revival. It’s not the only big reality TV show BET bosses are hoping will win them big ratings this year (15) - they’ve also recruited Kelly Rowland to front a new singing competition.
