July 2017 This week we had a visit from Mike & Jeanine Jones (Hill Street) our Western Australia selling agents from Mandurah; it prompted me to wonder how long some of our people have been with our business. I think since 1991 we have only had two helpers in WA - the first being Kevin Jamieson who was warned off us by one of the major publishers so he dropped off, and then Mike & Jeanine joined us all those years ago - perhaps 20 years. They were the franchisees of Angus & Robertson in Mandurah and left that business to get more deeply immersed in the book trade. They have seen great change over the years. Mike still does his famous road trips to the Kimberley and then weaving his way back to Mandurah. Thank you Mike & Jeanine. I spent the first week of the month in New Zealand and among the booksellers in the North Island. I also had coffee with Paul Greenberg and Joan Roulston at their home in Palmerston North. Paul has had some health problems and it was nice to catch up with him and Joan. You may remember Paul was the National Sales Manager at Wiley some years ago - he is a legend in the New Zealand Book Trade. Best wishes Paul. Books - this industry is so brutally competitive and why should it be different to any other consumer nondurable market? In order to get a better collected vision of how strong our book offering is for the year I have been building our ‘sort of’ Publication program - same as what a major publisher would work with except ours spans so many publishers. I am of the opinion that many books are equal, it is simply that the doyen publishers get top billing sometimes. We work to achieve a monthly new title release which suits many publishers, the books and booksellers - but not always. Our ‘Super’ lead title for August is ‘The Prince and the Assassin’ by Steve Harris. Steve has a great newspaper pedigree and his first work was the bestseller ‘Solomon’s Noose - The Hangman of Hobart Town’. The new book has really caught my interest and we will be urging it onto the shelves for the best sellers. Customer experiences; I had the misfortune to do my international departure to New Zealand out of Melbourne Airport. I think it is a worse consumer experience than Sydney International. I don’t typically spend my spare time at a DFO, nor am I attracted to fast food outlets or $2.00 Shops - this is what typifies our Melbourne International Airport. Ugly, tawdry; I had a customer feedback form so I used it. I won’t go into the boarding debacle where the aged, the frail and parents with children were treated like animals; Horrible.
Words from the Wise So what does a bookshop offer? A world without ugly, tawdry, - Yes. I went to Unity in Auckland and it was such a warming consumer experience - expansive range, people browsing, buying, staff feedback to questions - a wellrun business. The worry was then in one of the major stores a customer said to the shop assistant ‘really - it has to come from overseas’! The NZ market has had many suppliers pull out over the years and the books simply are not on the ground over there. Will the same happen in Australia? Sure - why won’t it; we simply have to focus on local publishing from all publishers. Point is that, as businesses, while we are able to supply consumers we should be enhancing our selling messages to give shoppers the feeling that we are part of their world - global, not regional, and smile when we talk about expanded data bases - and the ability you source from millions of books. Don’t hold back. We’re not owed local stock holding of foreign published books by major companies - it is performed as it is currently profitable for those businesses.. Once the profit is squeezed the availability dries up. Consumers don’t care about the business of profitability - they still want the ‘right here, right now ‘experience; which we can all offer if we use better supply databases. Focus on locally published and enable air freight supply chain to take care of overseas long tail product. By the way, can we ordain that we don’t have any more 17 day months - it is quite hard to trade for only 17 work days and then cover costs for 4 full weeks of rent and overheads. Maybe my landlords will cut me a deal on those months where we have so many Public Holidays! Best wishes Dennis Jones BTW - I did write to my local member and federal member about possible Government favouritism to Amazon. Just see what Canberra are going to ‘loan - donate’ to Aldani to rip up our land again. Hardly an act of innovation is it? And then the foreign owners of the Port of Melbourne wanting a bigger infrastructure to enable more imports to generate more usage of their Port of Melbourne investment. Read a book.

The engrossing real life story of how Queen Victoria's favourite son, Prince Alfred, undertook the most ambitious Royal tour, only for Australia's overwhelming joy of having the first Royal on its shores jolted by his decadent behaviour, then shocked by an attempted assassination by a man trained as a priest. The British Empire's youngest and most distant outpost found itself at the epicentre of a new crime and empirical fears about the first inter‐continental terrorist group, a conspiracy and a 'lone wolf '. In a resulting 'reign of terror' extraordinary steps were taken to safeguard security with laws on treason and sedition which even the Queen felt went too far, and the would‐be assassin was hastily executed in a miscarriage of justice led by opportunistic politicians. This is an extraordinary and atmospheric weaving of the stories ‐ some detailed for the first time ‐ of royal intrigue, sexual appetite, religious bigotry, patriotic vengeance, naked ambition, national security and moral panic. They are stories of royals, immigrants, archbishops, republicans and the founding fathers of Australia and issues that remain with us today. Drawing on Royal, British and Australian archives, the compelling narrative embraces a pivotal time in the evolution of Australia, and on the 150th anniversary reveals how a minute of madness rocked the country to its foundations, with a legacy which helped shape Australia's history and continues to influence and challenge us today.

Siren's Call is a tale of Yvette Wroby's two families: the family she was born into and the family that is the St Kilda Football Club. It's a story about the bond between Yvette and her mother Elfie, and a wider tale of how her mother's and father's families survived the Second World War to make a rich, fulfilling life in Australia; of how Yvette's many aunts and uncles and siblings made her who she is today. It's also a story about stories ‐ of how people in all walks of life across Australia came to cherish the red, white and black of the St Kilda Football Club or other clubs, of what life circumstances brought them to their football team. Yvette spends a year of weekends travelling the country to discover what has pulled her into that community, but returns to her mum during the week to sustain her through cancer treatments. In her busy life she handles the day‐ to‐day responsibilities of caring for her older children, her relatives and her community. Siren's Call is a love story about family and footy and those things that bring us all together.

The inaugural AFL Women's competition was a huge success. Although there were supporters who anticipated its impact, there were many who were surprised by the significance it had. Forty writers have come together to contribute to The Women's Footy Almanac 2017 which is a game by game account of the season which also includes essays about the what the 2017 AFLW season means to people, and why. This entertaining and insightful book is an account of sport in its social context. It is the story of football but also of football's impact on Australian life.

Crossing Continents with Top Deck, the travel revolution of the 70's-90's is a story through the eyes of a tour leader travelling overland between London and Sydney in the late 1970s. The heady days of the 1978 Afghan coup and the Iranian revolution were on the itinerary for adventure seeking colonials. The journey from Sydney to London crossing three continents and through 21 countries took 20 weeks. An adventure alternative for young Aussies and Kiwis getting to and from Europe, aboard Top Deck's alternative mode of travel in caravan style converted Bristol Lodekka double deck buses. The Top Deck Sydney to London tour described in this book, perhaps one of the lengthiest and most arduous of its time departed Sydney in March 1980. The first hop crossed Australia to Perth in two old Sydney era double decker buses with 30 passengers. A series of flights, trains, buses, ferries carried them to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Burma to Kathmandu. Guesthouses and budget hotels provided roofs over their heads. In Kathmandu this group grew to 60, where they boarded three double-deckers, Casper, Tadpoles and Dinger bound for London. The 1955 model Bristol Lodekkas fed and housed 20 passengers each from Nepal through India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Greece, Yugoslavia, Italy, France and to London over ten weeks suffering major breakdowns, collisions, illness and the US hostage crisis in Iran. This book is a page-turner, written in a humorous witty style and tells of the author's exciting adventures in 1978, 1979 and 1980 in Asia. The stories will interest: baby boomers and those who travelled in the camping tour 'boom time' of the 1970s. Travellers in general who want an exciting entertaining read, in particular those who experienced the 'hippy trail' between London and Kathmandu. This book provides an insight into the turmoil of Iran and Afghanistan from 1978 to 1980, an eyewitness account. Skroo Turner the founder of Top Deck and today's Flight Centre provides an introduction to these stories, his foresight has continued his travel revolution from those lumbering old buses to today's conglomerate, The Flight Centre Group.

The Puffing Billy Railway is a genuine living museum, part of the original Victorian Railways branch line which operated for fifty three years between Upper Ferntree Gully and Gembrook. The quaint little train became in institution of the Dandenongs, and the closure of the line in 1954 caused a public outcry. The salvation and continuing operation of Australia's best‐loved steam train is one of the great Australian stories.
Author Information
Author/photographer Nick Anchen was born with railways in the blood. His father and great grandfather were both railwaymen, so many stories were passed down through the family. Eventually, Nick joined what was left of the Victorian Railways in 1999, becoming a driver on Melbourne’s suburban network. Over the years he heard many stories and yarns, told with great gusto by the drivers who had joined the job when the VR was a united system, with its own unique history and culture. Becoming a fireman on the Puffing Billy Railway added another dimension to his experience, and a taste of the steam days of old. The need to record Victoria’s railway and social history for posterity led Nick to begin a career in publishing, and his first book, Puffing Billy – Spirit of the Dandenongs, was released in 2007 and rapidly became a best-seller. The success of this publication resulted in the production of a series of high quality books on a range of topics, including railway and aviation history.

A Delicious Bunch is a unique book in that it includes flowers suited to growing in ALL our Australian climatic zones, including cool temperate and sub-tropical to tropical. A selection such as this is just not seen in any of the other books on edible flowers that typically cover English roses, primulas etc. It is written with gardeners and cooks of all abilities in mind. It is a lavish feast for the eyes and an inspiration for greenthumbs to grow organically and harvest for impressive results. It has a handy reference chart for flowering seasons for each flower. The recipes are easy enough that a modestly experienced cook could give them a go. All recipes are vegetarian and many are dairy and gluten free. A Delicious Bunch is a delight for the eyes and stomach. The photography is ‘stunning’ says the designer. 'The book is magnificent', says the manager of the Sydney Botanic Gardens Bookshop.

Poised between earth and heaven, the material and the spiritual, burial places are amongst the most important sites ever built. Man is the only animal that knows it is going to die and since the dawn of civilization he has made provision for a last resting place that would ensure that his memory lived on. In this endeavour he has been remarkably successful. The grand tombs and mausoleums of long dead rulers have withstood the ravages of the centuries. Down at the level of the common man, cemeteries are amongst the built landscape's most immutable elements. They rarely change, except to add more occupants. Great Burial Places explores twenty-two of the world's great burial places, from purpose built dynastic necropolises such as the Valley of the Kings in Egypt and the Ming Tombs in China to cemeteries such as Pere Lachaise in Paris and the Zentralfriedhof in Vienna where the most famous people of their age share a last resting place with tens of thousands of their undistinguished fellow citizens. For centuries, and especially during the Middle Ages, people have made pilgrimages to the tombs of kings and saints to venerate those who lie there. Today, a surprising number of people engage in tombstone tourism, as it is sometimes dismissively termed. Who goes to London without visiting Westminster Abbey, or to Paris without visiting Pere Lachaise, or to Rome without visiting St. Peter's Basilica? There is something irresistible about visiting the last resting places of the famous, about standing in the presence of genius, about making contact, albeit indirect, with those who have left their mark on the world. Great Burial Places will prove a delight to taphophiles as well as to general readers of enquiring mind who wish to explore some of the world's greatest architectural and cultural sites from a fresh perspective..

A woman's journey of spirit and strength and the impact of domestic violence. Based on a true story, set in Melbourne, this book spans fifty years from the 1940s to the end of the 20th century. The trauma of domestic violence, experienced during Jenny and David's childhood impacts the life choices both siblings make. David follows in his father's footsteps and Jenny enters into a dysfunctional marriage. Inspired by true events, it illustrates what happens is not as important as what we do about it. It highlights Jenny's strength and spirit and her inner journey while coming to terms with her past.
Author Information Born in Melbourne, Australia in the 1940’s, Jenny Yate’s middle-class family was dominated by domestic violence, which had a profound influence on her life choices. She left school at fifteen but returned to study in later life, gained her Higher School Certificate and enrolled in a writing course. Jenny never planned to write a book but her yearning for education led her to university. After she obtained her Bachelor of Arts majoring in Professional writing she completed her memoir, The Vine Bleeds.

From the 1860s to the late 1960s over 150,000 boys and girls "volunteered" to migrate from the United Kingdom to many colonies of the then British Empire, including Australia. The abolition of the slave trade in 1803 and the eventual emancipation of individual slaves in the 1830s had left the colonies with a shortage of labour to be partially filled by these children. This diaspora of children rivalled the number of convicts sent to Australia. We were the unwanted generations; many of us were bastards/illegitimate by birth and/or from the lowest echelons of society. It was all quite "normal" and accepted practice; we were surplus to requirements. Once we were put into institutions we became "fillii nullius" the children of no one, to be done with as the authorities saw fit. Each of us has a story to tell; this is my story.
Author Message
It is my hope that people who read this book will be far more mindful of children, as children are not things or possessions, they are simply little people. World peace will never be attained until we adults learn to love and nurture our offspring no matter what colour, creed, or nationality, and to show respect for people who think and look different to ourselves. A reciprocation of understanding by all people is the key to enable all children to attain an education and adulthood in a world of peace. Dr Barnardo was the person who established Dr Barnardo’s Homes in England in the latter half of the 1800s. Many thousands of Dr Barnardo’s children were emigrated principally to Canada and Australia; some were sent to other parts of the British Empire. Barnardos, is now the trading name of Dr Barnardo’s Homes. To avoid confusion and for brevity’s sake, Barnardos is used exclusively throughout this book. To give immediacy and freshness I have used a raconteur style and have consciously avoided the cleverness’s of the “Gargoyles and Curlicues,” which seem to have become the template for many modern writers today. This plain speaking necessitates revealing more of myself than at times I feel comfortable with; however, the truth will out in one form or another. It should be kept in mind that my brothers and I never saw my father and much of the information was only gained and put into perspective after November 2001. It was only then through the intervention of the International Social Service organisation that we found we had four brothers, two sisters and a step mother, all of whom got lost somehow when we three brothers “volunteered” to emigrate to Australia. This is a book based upon the author's own experiences of synchronistic events and dreams over seventy years, from which he carved out his own path, philosophy, self‐reliance and responsibility. This led him to understand life's infinite possibilities and abundance - should we take the time to contemplate one's inner journey with gratitude and compassion for all sentient beings, with redemption even for what appears to be the most vile one can imagine... By taking stock of daily events, one realises he or she is in the right lane travelling in the right direction on life's highway. The transit stops being just inner peace and happiness, the destination beyond our wildest imagination.

"Brink is a map of Jill Jones' limbic system. Operating near the edge of instinct, it commutes back to a pre‐dawn as it siphons out prehistoric attraction into the network of her poetic formula. Jones electrifies our neurological subways and encourages us to get lost in her epic desire. We alight Brink as better lovers. It's that good." Kent MacCarter "Jill Jones' poems combine alert self‐questioning intelligence with springy openness. Who else can give line breaks and caesurae such electric charge? Self‐creating things, thing‐creating selves, her poems keep at the brink of themselves, now and now and now, shaking off commodities and fixed ideas, improvising with elan." Lisa Gorton "Brink gives us poetry of extremity and interface, composed from the complex matter of the world in language grown subtle and strong by experience. This is Jill Jones' 'dreamy epic' of lapses and clues, her 'book of consummations', in which thought is harder, address more powerful, and existence more beguiling than ever before." Nicholas Jose
Author Information Jill Jones was born in Sydney and currently lives in Adelaide. Her most recent books include Breaking the Days, which won the Whitmore Press Manuscript Prize in 2014, The Beautiful Anxiety which won the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Poetry in 2015, and the chapbook, The Leaves Are My Sisters. Her poems have been widely published in journals and anthologies in Australia as well as internationally and many have been translated into languages such as Chinese, Dutch, French, Italian, Czech, Macedonian and Spanish. In late 2014 she was poet‐in‐residence at Stockholm University. She is a member of the J.M. Coetzee Centre for Creative Practice, University of Adelaide.

July 2017 Propelled by a deep sense of connection to this country, Steven Nowakowski has managed to carve a path with large format photography, a career enabling him to remain in tune with where his heart lies. Steven's inspiration has long been drawn from true wilderness photographers, Tasmanians Peter Dombrovskis and Olegas Truchanas. Dombrovskis and Truchanas were men not only magnificently talented behind the lens but of whom also carried a quiet, yet incredibly powerful message behind their work. Similarly, their vision at the time was to utilise the printed image to highlight the immeasurable vulnerability of a region they loved dearly, places vastly unknown and unseen by most. Indeed it was the compelling Dombrovskis photograph of Rock Island Bend that touched the conscious mind of the country during the campaign to save Tasmania’s Franklin River in the early 80’s from being dammed. All of Steven Nowakowski’s large format photography remains the work of film; to him there is nothing quite the same. Not only does the understanding of such a camera slow one down and force you to fall in tune with your surroundings, but just as importantly it is the detail, sharpness and vibrancy of the finished product that is something still unachievable by the digital camera.

Hunted is the Prey, is Donovan Hoult's latest book. The ruthless climb of Winton Springer, an itinerant shearer picked up on an outback Queensland road by Sam Carlin, the owner of a struggling oil and gas exploration company. Uneducated, but highly intelligent, Springer resorts to unscrupulous blackmail, theft and murder as he manipulates himself into seizing total control as the company evolves. He ruthlessly exploits and plans the ultimate destruction of people who know too much of his dealings, and he of theirs, in the take-no-prisoners arena of stock-market manipulation and finance. His world starts to implode when Carlin reveals years later he has a daughter and son from a previous marriage still living in America. The son does not appear to be a threat, but the daughter who is enticed by her father to join the company in Australia. She falls for Springer who realises his position in the company is under threat. Marty Carlin is a highly experienced oil executive. She is ambitious and demanding, and it soon becomes obvious to Springer she is ultimately going to assume the reins of the company. He decides to marry her, but during their honeymoon Marty realises she has unwittingly discovered one of her husband's criminal actions. She dies during a mysterious scuba diving accident on the Barrier Reef. In a drunken scene at her wake, her brother Alexander accuses Springer of her murder. He severs his ties with his father and flies back to the States, only to return some years later to witness his father's dying hours. He becomes aware of Springer's involvement in his father's condition. In the meantime, his father has married his nurse following an earlier stroke - a much younger woman Springer immediately identifies from his past. She poses an ambitious and dangerous threat. A novel where nothing stands in the way of greed and power.

Anna Fergusson runs a lab researching Huntington's disease at a prestigious Boston university. When her long‐standing grant is pulled unexpectedly, Anna finally faces the truth: she's 49, virtually friendless, single, and worse, her research has been sub‐par for years. With no jobs readily available, Anna takes a leap and agrees to spend a year monitoring a remote campsite on Turtle Island in Australia's Great Barrier Reef. What could be better for an introvert with shattered self‐esteem than a quiet year in paradise? As she settles in, Anna opens her heart for the first time in decades‐to new challenges, to new friendships, even to a new love with Tom, the charming, younger turtle tagger she sometimes assists. But opening one's heart leaves one vulnerable, and Anna comes to realize that love is as fragile as happiness, and that both are a choice. A DROP IN THE OCEAN is a deeply moving novel about second chances and last hopes, about loving and letting go, and about the power in self‐discovery. Author Information Jenni Ogden grew up in a country town in the South Island of New Zealand, in a home bursting with books and music. Armed with NZ and Australian university degrees in zoology and psychology, she took up a postdoctoral fellowship at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked with H.M., the most famous amnesiac in history, before returning to an academic position at Auckland University. There, she immersed herself in clinical psychology and neuropsychology, as well as traveling extensively and writing about her patients’ moving stories in two books, Fractured Minds: A Case-Study Approach to Clinical Neuropsychology and Trouble In Mind: Stories from a Neuropsychologist’s Casebook. Jenni has had a love affair with the Great Barrier Reef since her twenties, when she spent summers on a coral cay rather like Turtle Island, tagging sea turtles. Ogden and her husband now live off-grid on a spectacular island off the coast of NZ, with winters spent traveling and at their second home in tropical Far North Queensland. When she is not writing or traveling, Jenni can be found on the beach - always with a book - or spending time with her family. Phone: 03 9762 9100 | Fax 03 9762 9200 Email: orders@dennisjones.com.au

Dreams mean nothing unless you have the courage to pursue them. Luke Miggs wants more than what small‐town life can offer ‐ the grind of chores on the family farm, playing footy, and drinks with friends. Like maybe doing something about his crush on Amanda Hunt, a barmaid at the local who's smart, funny, and ambitious. Or playing footy in the big league. At eighteen, it can't be too late, can it? There's the Ravens, at least, although the team's little more than battlers. If only they could take their footy seriously, like the reigning champions, the Little Reach Scorpions. Under their tyrannical coach, Claude Rankin, the Scorpions have dominated the competition for ten years. It seems nothing will be different this season. But when Adam Pride emerges from the night and tells the Ravens he wants to play for them, everything begins to change. Pride is a story of friendship and bonds and coming of age, and how the choices of our past can come back to shape our future.

The book reads like a recipe, each 'method' using natural resources which need to be nurtured and sustained. Using cooking terms, it's a fun way to look at solutions to 'greening' the planet.
I Can Sing a Rainbow is illustrated with Kim Toft's original silk paintings, the book follows the lyrics of Arthur Hamilton's song 'I Can Sing a Rainbow' as it introduces the underwater colours of the ocean.
Educational information on each page, listed as a 'Helpful Hint', looks directly at the conservation measures which can be implemented i.e. reforestation, wise water usage, ocean management, solar and wind power. Additional info in the back looks at each resource more closely.
This book is also an introduction to understanding colour theory with brilliant images on silk. As always Kim's books are both educational and beautiful and are timeless in their environmental message.
Features: - Stunning hand painted silk illustrations. - Stunning fold out ending. - Child friendly extension information. - Educational topic: sustainability, environmental studies. - Excellent book to start follow-up investigation into sustainable energies.

From thirsty dogs to old horses to pesky seagulls and fishy tales; from family squabbles to sports day races and flooded creeks; from letting loose on a skateboard to dancing amongst the trees: these wonderful poems are full of joy, humour and keen observation and will entertain and amuse a whole new generation of young readers. This new edition of Max Fatchen's much‐loved classic of children's poetry features an introduction by award‐winning children's author Janeen Brian and lively cover and internal illustrations by Kathy Creamer.
Author Information Max Fatchen (1920-2012) was a children’s writer and journalist who spent his childhood on the family farm in the Adelaide Plains of South Australia. Entering journalism as a teenage copy boy, he later served in the Australian Army and Air Force during World War II and after the war worked for the News and the Advertiser, covering stories both in Australia and overseas. His first children’s book, The River Kings, was published in 1966. He published more than 20 books over his career, including poetry collections, novels and picture books, and also collaborated with other authors on joint projects. Many of Max’s books were published internationally as well as in Australia, won many awards, and three of his novels were made into a TV series. A popular and respected author, Max Fatchen was also awarded the Order of Australia, the Advance Australia Award for Literature, the Walkley Award for Journalism, the South Australian Great Award for Literature and the Centenary of Federation Medal. Children carry a huge seed of love and acceptance, which gives them the power to create a new and wonderful world. Nothing can come into reality without the thought of it first. I’ve designed this book to open our children’s minds through the use of imagination to lead them to new possibilities, thus empowering them, which through a mass vibration empowers us all. This is a visual feast of graphic art, created to show a reality past the norm, to stimulate our senses and awaken many more. Along with a verity of questions, that asks the reader to query our reality.
Author Information Bobbie Richardson grew up in a little town called Kaiapoi, just out of Christchurch, New Zealand. She is a creator who excelled as an Author/Illustrator and Singer/Songwriter. Moving to Australia in 1998 she has had an unusual life due to her ability to tap into the unseen. Her journey has taken her through many exciting synchronistic events, by following visions which are very real to her, they have lead her to truths of new realities and answered many BIG questions. Eventually she was led to work with an Elder from America who showed her even greater potentials, this then led Bobbie to ask, “What is the potential of humanity”. The wisdom she acquired over the next few years compelled her to write and illustrate this book and others, including a song to unite all, which can be found on Youtube.

Three Australian nine‐year olds from different immigrant backgrounds form a Secret Society they call The Threefold Cord, to do good such as helping an old lady. When they rescue a tortured cat, they stumble on a crime gang that traffics costly cats and smuggles rare red diamonds, led by the enigmatic and quite monstrously fearsome Dr Vandersluys, the tall, pale stranger who always wears sunglasses and dresses in black. Through their unity, courage and resourcefulness (and helped by an Aboriginal elder), the three succeed in saving themselves, overcoming evil and helping others. The story is thrilling and funny and full of unexpected twists and turns and mysterious characters.
Author Information Howard Goldenberg is a writer, a reader and a doctor. He is the author of the highly successful memoir, My Father’s Compass (Hybrid, 2007) and Raft (Hybrid 2009), an intimate and candid account of his work as a doctor in dozens of remote indigenous communities, over many years. He also published a fictional story entitled Carrots and Jaffas (Hybrid, 2014).
