Dear All Welcome to the second edition of the Power Electrics Inside Magazine. Designed to keep employees up to date on the information surround the company including staff stories and local interest. In this issue we focus on the Summer that is ahead of us by having a look at the hire department and the events which our rental fleet will be supplying temporary power to. In a year which hosts the Olympic games in the UK the summer promises to be a busy one. Along with looking ahead we also look at some news stories which have happening in the last three months. Blagging rights for football managerial skills once again goes to Leigh Preece for winning his second Power Electrics Premier League in a row. Page 12 features a season review along with all the results from the League and new Cup which was added this year with thanks to Derek Clew and Neil Broad for organising those. Throughout the magazine you will find various articles which centre around Power Electrics and our workforce. We are always in need for stories and open to suggestions, so please email leighg@powerelectrics. com or pop to the marketing department for any suggestions/news.

More Power to Petersfield A Huge lorry-bourne generator kept electricity flowing in Peterfield while engineers worked on upgrading a town centre sub-station. The generator, one of the biggest of its kind, arrived from Bristol in the early hours of last Thursday morning and was parked outside the Festival Hall. Scottish and Southern Power engineers connected its power cables to the nearby sub-station and the diesel generator kept the town centre powered while the improvements were carried out, A power company spokesman said: “The work was an upgrade, so that in future if there is a power cut we can re-route power to homes much more quickly then we can now. “The generator supplied power to Petersfield town centre and nearby homes. The work was scheduled to last a day and as I understand it, it has now finished.

Hire Department enter the 2012 event season May marks the start of a busy summer for the Hire department with the event season hitting full flow. Along with year long contracts including WPD and BT, Power Electrics will supply generators to various events around the country ranging from flower shows to concerts. One new addition to this year’s event calendar is the AEGON Championships held at Queens Tennis Club from 11th June. Recognised as one of the top 10 tennis events in the world the tournament serves as an excellent warm up preparation for the Wimbledon Grand Slam. With the 2012 Olympic Games coming to London during the summer, event suppliers are already filling their order books fast due to the high demand. The effects of the 2012 Games will be wide spread with events such as Glastonbury having cancel their 2012 festival due to the amount of resources that London 2012 will absorb from suppliers. Badminton washed out
In conjunction with FG Wilson and Perkins, Power Electrics recently held a seminar in London entitled ‘Diesel Standby Power - The Future’. The seminar focused on a range of subjects including current and future emissions legislation, improving generator performance and generator control systems and remote communications. The seminar proved to be a success with the sales department with new leads and contacts gained in the London area.
The 2012 Badminton Horse Trials were cancelled in early May due to heavy rain and flooding. Power Electrics regularly supplies the event with generators and this year was no exception with generators being pulled out before the event was due to start. Serving as a trail event for the London Olympics the event site was not safe for participants or spectators. Event Director Hugh Thomas said: “The recent exceptional rainfall has left the group at Badminton totally waterlogged and partially flooded with further rain expected.”

Customer Feedback
The training course met my requirements fully - took the veil of mystery surrounding generators away Just a quick thank-you to you and your team for what turned out to be an amazing Gold Cup. I think the majority of the changes made worked (with a few minor adjustments) and the event ran as smoothly as I think possible. Good luck with Aintree Tim
Firstly, I thank you for the seminar yesterday, I found it very informative; in that it gave me great comfort levels with regard to strength and depth of Power Electrics and your relation with FG Wilson and Perkins.
I would certainly recommend Power Electrics Training courses. Thank you for your help, the staff are friendly, very knowledgeable and experienced.
