A production line showed intelligent coding choices
Markem-Imaje showed visitors to its interpack stand the company’s latest developments to support the packaging industry that encompass smart codes, packaging intelligence and connected products – from manufacturing, through the supply chain to the end consumer.
Visitors were able to enjoy a production line demonstrating the latest within laser, continuous inkjet, thermal transfer overprinting, large character inkjet, and intelligent print and apply labelling systems. The inline printing demo is fully integrated and managed by Markem-Imaje’s Packaging Intelligence suite powered by CoLOS and prepared for supply chain traceability and engaging consumer experiences.
Markem also presented the latest within inkjet coding with its new, patented, Super Piezo Inkjet technology. This solution is capable of printing serialised 2D barcodes at high-speed on 3D surfaces. And this technology supports the manufacturing industry in implementing and complying with new regulatory requirements and standards such as the Food Safety Modernisation Act, Digital Product Passport and the GS1 Digital Link with serialised QR codes.
As well as its exhibition stand, this year, for the first time, Markem also co-sponsored the first of interpack’s seven SPOTLIGHT Themes & Trends talks on Logistics: Optimisation in Uncertain Times, on the opening day, where it delivered the keynote speech.
“Markem-Imaje has invested heavily in innovation in recent years with a well-balanced mix of printing technology and software solutions but also connected services like our IoT-powered MiVista range of self-support and helpdesk printer services,” explained Eric Barthélemy, VP global sales at Markem. “Our new offering opens up completely new doors for producers to be on top of regulations, protect their brands and keep the consumer safe.”
