CONFIDENT KIDS TODAY, ENGAGED ADULTS TOMORROW

After School Program At the Westside Community Center School Age Child Care, Ages 5-12

Children absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, we believe time well spent in a fun, safe and supportive environment before and after school is a primary building block for quality of life and future success of children. Children feel connected at the Y where they can make friends and learn how to be their best with the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We promote positive self-esteem, life skills, teamwork, leadership, creativity and educational support. Each day after school, the Y will welcome children to a safe and fun environment where they will have plenty of opportunity to learn, grow and thrive throughout their academic year. Our daily routine will focus upon these core areas:

1. Welcome & Attendance 2. Character Counts 3. Academic Support 4. Reading Enrichment 5. Healthy Living Physical Activity 6. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) 7. Global Learning 8 Leadership

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region recognizes that exceptional, caring adults are essential to the healthy development of children. Our staff exceeds state licensing requirements for experience and training. All staff are required to pass a state and national background check before hired and references are extensively checked. Additionally, all staff are First Aid/CPR certified, making YMCA school-age programs the standard in safety and quality.
