DEAR CAMP FAMILIES, This opportunity you are giving your child is something that they will cherish forever. The ability for your camper to just be themselves in a safe and supporting environment is a gift that, while they may not realize it today, has the power to shape who they are for their future. Camp is a community where children are able to develop life skills and friendships, build their independence, try new activities, and gain confidence that will perpetuate into their adulthood. I have been in the camping industry for my entire professional career, and am absolutely a believer in what camp can do for children and their families. We sincerely look forward to meeting your child this summer, sharing our love for the outdoors, and helping your camper experience all of the opportunities YMCA Camp Shady Brook has to offer. Happy Camping,
Sonny Adkins Executive Director, YMCA Camp Shady Brook
