Located in the Star Points Building, the Barley Wellness Center offers state-of-the-art equipment, fitness classes and an indoor pool and spa. Trained staff will help you develop a personalized fitness program. Open 24 hours, with staff available Mon. - Fri., 6 a.m. - 4 p.m. Pool hours: Mon. - Fri., 8 - 11:30 a.m.

Fit For Life focuses on balance, strength and flexibility to help increase your strength and stability for a better quality of life.

Senior Yoga

Our instructor, Claudia, will guide you through a gentle half-hour yoga session of seated and standing poses focused on strength, relaxation, balance and flexibility.

Tuesday & Thursday 9 - 9:45 a.m. Designed to work your entire body, this class will benefit individuals who are looking for an active cardiovascular workout with intervals of strength, flexibility and range-of-motion exercises.

Walking Group

Tuesday & Thursday 11 - 11:30 a.m. Assembly Room

Our wellness staff will warm you up and cool you down with various exercises before and after a short walk. Join neighbors and friends for good music and conversation, all while contributing to a healthy, active lifestyle.

Stretching

Our instructor, Nikki, will guide you through gentle stretches to improve flexibility and balance and increase range of motion, making it easier to perform everyday tasks.

The Nationality Rooms were designed to represent and celebrate the cultures of various ethnic groups that settled in Allegheny County. The 31 Nationality Rooms located on the first and third floors of the Cathedral of Learning are a community space where visitors are invited to experience the rich heritage of the communities who inspired and supported their creation. The rooms are also used as university classrooms, giving students the opportunity to engage in learning in a unique setting that helps them explore the historic diversity of the Pittsburgh region. “The Drowsy Chaperone” is a musical based on a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. It is a parody of an American musical comedy of the 1920s.
