Arthakul – The Finance Club at WeSchool Bengaluru organized a round table on the topic “Careers in Finance and Beyond” on 7th December, 2019. WeSchool Alumni, who are presently working in large organizations were invited as panelists to share insights. Alumni who came for the event were: 1. Mr. Nisarg Kalyani 2. Ms. Antara Sengupta 3. Mr. Sayeesh 4. Mr. Tapas Kar 5. Mr. Nihal Dalvi 6. Mr. Sayi Krishna Sunder 7. Mr. Sailesh Supriye 8. Mr. Sabhayasachi Gosh
The event started with a presentation about the various career roles and opportunities in finance by students. The discussion started on a fun note by asking the panelists to share a funny incident from their MBA days. They then went on to share insights about their journey that started with MBA to where they are today, how was their job roles, what they learnt over the years. Audience asked questions such as what are the career opportunities in a particular field, how should they start preparing if they are interested in some particular kind of job role etc. These gave students useful insights.
Other important takeaways were never to think of any job as small or big, just be in it for learning. Know yourself and what role fits you the best and keep that as a target. In the end, the panelists were handed a token of our appreciation Dr. Vijay Kumar and the event was concluded by lunch.
