LA PRIMA SFIDA DELLA STAGIONE CIK-FIA IN ITALIA

THE FIRST RACE OF THE CIK-FIA SEASON IN ITALY

The best practice session time in KZ at Sarno’s Circuito Internazionale Napoli was recorded by Simo Puhakka (Kosmic-Vortex-Bridgestone), although Paolo De Conto (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone) trailed by just 2 thousandths of a second! Puhakka also came out on top in the heats, followed by Antony Abbasse (Sodi-TM Racing-Bridgestone), De Conto and the two Pex brothers, Jorrit and Stan. However, in the Final, contact during the initial laps between Puhakka and Abbasse allowed Jorrit Pex (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone) to leap in front, before seeing Paolo De Conto take the lead and finish the race in first place. Second place went to Patrik Hajek (Kosmic-Vortex-Bridgestone), ahead of Bas Lammers (Sodi-TM Racing-Bridgestone), who climbed through the field from tenth position. Stan Pex (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone) finished fourth, while Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K-TM RacingBridgestone) managed fifth.

In the OK, Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic-Vortex-LeCont) recorded the fastest lap in practice, 38 thousandths ahead of Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont). Pourchaire continued to prove the fastest in the heats, but was now challenged by Clément Novalak, along with Karol Basz, Bulantsev again and David Vidales (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont). The Final immediately favoured Pourchaire, with Novalak in second place and that was how they finished. Third place went to Vidales, who managed to overtake Basz in the closing stages. Sami Taoufik (FA KartVortex-LeCont) finished fifth.

The fastest in OK-Junior was Kas Haverkort with a 19 thousandths of a second advantage over teammate Gabriel Bortoleto, both driving CRG-TM Racing-Vega karts. However, there were many drivers vying for victory, with Jonny Edgar (Exprit Racing-TM-Vega) and the two Ricky Flynn drivers, Zak O’Sullivan and Harry Thompson, in FA Kart -Vortex-Vega karts, trailing Bortoleto in the heats. Edgar immediately took control in the Final and went on to win, while Bortoleto managed to finish in second place thanks to fighting his way back up the field after initially dropping down a few positions. Third place went to O’Neill Muth (Zanardi-Parilla-Vega), who completed an impressive comeback, while Thompson finished fourth ahead of O’Sullivan.
