Paolo De Conto (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone) è arrivato a conquistare il suo terzo titolo Europeo CIKFIA, nel 2017 in KZ dominando la categoria con tre vittorie consecutive a Sarno, Genk e Le Mans, e poi ancora sul podio a Kristianstad con il terzo posto a sancire ufficialmente la conquista del Campionato Europeo KZ che l’aritmetica gli aveva già assicurato dopo le prime tre prove. Paolo De Conto aveva già vinto il Campionato Europeo nel 2011 in KZ1 e nel 2010 in KZ2. La maturità agonistica e la competitività espressa dal pilota italiano nel 2017 è stata ancora una volta di altissimo livello, in un crescendo di prestazioni che non hanno lasciato scampo agli avversari.

Paolo De Conto (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone) won his third KZ European CIK-FIA title in 2017, dominating the class thanks to three consecutive victories at Sarno, Genk and Le Mans, as well as a podium finish at Kristianstad, where third place officially secured the KZ European Championship that was already mathematically certain following the first three rounds. Paolo De Conto had already won the KZ1 and KZ2 European Championships in 2011 and 2010 respectively. The maturity and competitiveness demonstrated by the Italian driver in 2017 once again reached the highest levels, resulting in a crescendo of performances that gave his rivals no chance.

Il percorso vincente nel Campionato Europeo CIK-FIA di KZ2 per il pilota tedesco Leon Köhler, su Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone, si è concretizzato soprattutto grazie al podio conquistato nella prima prova di Genk e il quarto posto di Le Mans. Köhler è così riuscito a conquistare il Campionato Europeo di KZ2 grazie alla sua regolarità, senza tuttavia poter vantare vittorie. A Genk Köhler si è subito inserito fra i maggiori protagonisti conquistando la pole position, a cui ha fatto seguito il terzo posto in Finale. A Le Mans un quarto posto (diventato terzo ai fini del punteggio) lo ha lanciato fra i maggiori candidati al titolo, che ha fatto suo nella terza e conclusiva prova di Kristianstad dove ha potuto mantenere il comando in una classifica finale molto corta.

German Leon Köhler’s winning run in the KZ2 CIKFIA European Championship, at the wheel of a Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone kart, was built on the back of a podium finish in the first round at Genk and a fourth place at Le Mans. Köhler managed to take the KZ2 European Championship thanks to his consistency, without recording any outright victories. At Genk, Köhler soon established himself as one of the leading drivers by securing pole position, followed by finishing third in the Final. At Le Mans, fourth place (third in terms of points) placed him among the major candidates for the title, which he won in the third and final round at Kristianstad, where he managed to maintain his lead in the very tight final standings.

Il marocchino Sami Taoufik si è aggiudicato il Campionato Europeo della categoria OK ed è il primo pilota del suo Paese ad aver vinto un titolo internazionale CIK-FIA. Taoufik, su FA-Vortex-LeCont, oltre alla prima posizione nel Campionato Europeo si è anche aggiudicato il premio “Rookie of the Year” introdotto nel 2017 dalla CIK-FIA e riservato ai piloti fino a 16 anni di età. Taoufik è diventato Campione Europeo al suo esordio nella categoria OK, dopo essersi messo in luce nel 2016 nella Junior con il successo nella WSK Super Master Series e il quinto posto nel Campionato Europeo Junior. Nel 2017 si è laureato Campione Europeo grazie a un secondo posto a Le Mans, la vittoria in Finlandia che lo ha lanciato in testa alla classifica e ai piazzamenti ottenuti nella prima prova a Sarno e nell’ultima prova a Kristianstad.

Morocco’s Sami Taoufik won the OK European Championship at the wheel of a FA-VortexLeCont kart and became the first driver from his country to win an international CIK-FIA title. As well as winning the European Championship, Taoufik also won “Rookie of the Year”, an award introduced in 2017 by the CIK-FIA for drivers up to 16 years of age. Taoufik became European Champion in his OK debut season, after making a name for himself in the Junior class in 2016 by winning the WSK Super Master Series and finishing fifth in the Junior European Championship. He became 2017 European Champion thanks to a second place at Le Mans, a victory in Finland that placed him at the top of the overall standings and good results in the first round at Sarno and the last round at Kristianstad.
