ADRIA KARTING RACEWAY

La WSK Super Master Series prende il via ad Adria Karting Raceway sulla scia della WSK Champions Cup disputata nel weekend precedente sulla stessa pista, per il primo dei quattro classici appuntamenti della stagione 2017 che presenta un altro successo di adesioni con ben 250 piloti iscritti nelle quattro categorie KZ2, OK, OK-Junior e 60 Mini. Nella fornitura di pneumatici si inserisce la Bridgestone per le categorie KZ2 e OK, in affiancamento alla Vega che fornisce le categorie giovanili OK-Junior e Mini. Fra le novità dell’edizione 2017 il punteggio è assegnato anche al termine delle manches di qualificazione, oltre ai punti assegnati in Prefinale e in Finale, in modo da offrire ulteriori opportunità in classifica a chi conclude in maniera positiva la fase di qualificazione iniziale. Il punteggio come al solito sarà poi crescente nelle successive prove della WSK Super Master Series. Dopo il primo appuntamento di Adria del 5 Febbraio, gli altri tre round della stagione sono programmati in rapida sequenza a Castelletto (5 Marzo), La Conca (19 Marzo) e Sarno (9 Aprile).

The WSK Super Master Series kicked off at the Adria Karting Raceway, in the wake of the WSK Champions Cup held on the previous weekend at the same circuit, for the first of four traditional events in the 2017 season, which recorded yet another success thanks to the 250 drivers entered in the four KZ2, OK, OK-Junior and 60 Mini classes. Bridgestone joined Vega as a supplier of tyres for the KZ2 and OK, with the latter also providing tyres for the OK-Junior and Mini. One of the changes for the 2017 edition saw points also being awarded at the end of the qualifying heats, in addition to the points awarded in the Pre-final and the Final, so that drivers who did well in the initial qualifiers had an additional opportunity to improve their positions in the standings. As usual, the number of points increased in subsequent WSK Super Master Series rounds. Following the first event at Adria on 5 February, the other three rounds in the season were scheduled in quick succession at Castelletto (5 March), La Conca (19 March) and Sarno (19 April).

RECORD DEBUT FIGURES AT ADRIA

La WSK Super Master Series inizia con una presenza ad Adria di ben 243 piloti, provenienti da 33 Paesi e dai 5 Continenti, confermando ancora una volta il successo della serie organizzata da WSK Promotion. L’evento di Adria si apre con la pioggia, e in prova sono subito due finlandesi a mettersi in evidenza, in KZ2 è Simo Puhakka (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone) a segnare la pole position, e nella OK è Paavo Tonteri (Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone). Nella OKJunior è invece il russo Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) a staccare il miglior tempo in prova, mentre nella più piccola delle categorie, la Mini, fra gli 85 partecipanti di questa categoria il più veloce è il giovane italiano Gabriele Minì (Parolin-TM Racing-Vega).

Nelle manches, in KZ2 a svettare è Antony Abbasse (Sodi-TM Racing-Bridgestone), nella OK Lorenzo Travisanutto (Zanardi-Parilla-Bridgestone), nella OK-Junior Pavel Bulantsev (Tony KartVortex-Vega), nella Mini Gabriele Minì (Parolin-TM Racing-Vega).

In KZ2, dopo le due Prefinali vinte rispettivamente dai due portacolori di Sodikart, Antony Abbasse e Bas Lammers, la Finale volge subito a favore di Abbasse (Sodi-TM RacingBridgestone) che si impone con un buon vantaggio sul compagno di squadra Lammers, mentre il terzo gradino del podio lo ha ottenuto Jorrit Pex (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone). Nella lotta per il quarto posto ha avuto la meglio Patrik Hajek (Kosmic-Vortex-Bridgestone), mentre Matteo Zanchi (Wildkart-TM Racing-Bridgestone) ha concluso quinto davanti a Douglas Lundberg (Sodi-TM Racing-Bridgestone) grazie a 10 secondi di penalizzazione inflitti a quest’ultimo.

Nella OK, protagonisti assoluti alla fine si sono rivelati Ulysse De Pauw (Kosmic-ParillaBridgestone) e Lorenzo Travisanutto (Zanardi-Parilla-Bridgestone), ovvero i due rispettivi vincitori delle due Prefinali che poi si sono sfidati per il successo in Finale insieme a Martins Victor (Kosmic-Parilla-Bridgestone) e Karol Basz. Sul traguardo De Pauw ha preceduto Victor e Travisanutto, con Basz quarto, ma per una penalizzazione di 10 secondi inflitta sia a Victor che a Basz, Travisanutto guadagna il secondo posto, con David Vidales (Tony Kart-VortexBridgestone) terzo davanti a Justas Jonusis (DR-Parilla-Bridgestone). Martins e Basz vengono classificati al quinto e sesto posto.

Nella OK-Junior dopo le Prefinali andate a Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) e a Leonardo Marseglia (Zanardi-Parilla-Vega), un incidente a inizio gara lancia in testa Andrea Rosso (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) che si è poi aggiudicato il successo finale su Jack Doohan (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega) e Ilya Morozov (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega).

Nella 60 Mini, i due compagni del Team CRG Gamoto e rispettivi vincitori delle due Prefinali, Alfio Spina e Luca Giardelli, si sono rivelati protagonisti anche in Finale, con Spina vincitore su Giardelli, mentre il terzo posto è andato ancora a un terzo pilota del team Gamoto, Adam Putera, tutti con CRG-TM Racing-Vega. Al quarto e quinto posto hanno concluso Federico Albanese (Righetti Ridolfi-TM Racing-Vega) e Andrea Antonelli (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega). The WSK Super Master Series began with 243 drivers from 33 countries and 5 continents competing at Adria, providing confirmation once more of the success of the series organised by WSK Promotion. The event at Adria began under the rain and the first practice session immediately saw two Finns come to the fore as Simo Puhakka (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone) took pole position in the KZ2 and Paavo Tonteri (Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone) recording the fastest time in the OK. Russia’s Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) posted the best time in the OK-Junior, while in the Mini the fastest of the 85 participants was young Italian Gabriele Minì (Parolin-TM Racing-Vega).

In the heats, Antony Abbasse (Sodi-TM Racing-Bridgestone) led the field in the KZ2, Lorenzo Travisanutto (Zanardi-Parilla- Bridgestone) in the OK, Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart-Vortex- Vega) in the OK-Junior, Gabriele Minì (Parolin-TM Racing-Vega) in the Mini.

After the two Pre-finals in the KZ2 won respectively by the two Sodikart drivers, Antony Abbasse and Bas Lammers, the Final immediately favoured Abbasse (Sodi-TM RacingBridgestone), who finished comfortably ahead of his teammate Lammers, while third spot on the podium went to Jorrit Pex (CRG-TM Racing-Bridgestone). The battle for fourth place was won by Patrik Hajek (Kosmic-Vortex-Bridgestone), while Matteo Zanchi (Wildkart-TM RacingBridgestone) finished fifth ahead of Douglas Lundberg (Sodi-TM Racing-Bridgestone) thanks to a 10 second penalty awarded to the latter.

Ulysse De Pauw (Kosmic-Parilla-Bridgestone) and Lorenzo Travisanutto (ZanardiParilla-Bridgestone), the two respective winners of the two Pre-finals, starred in the OK, competing against Martins Victor (Kosmic-Parilla-Bridgestone) and Karol Basz for victory in the Final. De Pauw crossed the finish line ahead of Victor and Travisanutto, with Basz in fourth, but 10 second penalties awarded to both Victor and Basz saw Travisanutto promoted to second place, followed by David Vidales (Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone) up to third ahead of Justas Jonus (DR-Parilla-Bridgestone). Martins and Basz finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

The Pre-finals of the OK-Junior were won by Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) and Leonardo Marseglia (Zanardi-Parilla-Vega), while an accident at the start of the race allowed Andrea Rosso (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) to take the lead and win the Final ahead of Jack Doohan (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega) and Ilya Morozov (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega).

In the 60 Mini, the two Team CRG Gamoto teammates and respective winners of the two Pre-finals, Alfio Spina and Luca Giardelli, also starred in the Final, with Spina finishing ahead of Giardelli, while third place went to a third driver from the Gamoto team, Adam Putera, all in CRG-TM Racing-Vega karts. Fourth and fifth places went to Federico Albanese (Righetti RidolfiTM Racing-Vega) and Andrea Antonelli (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega).
