Z U O Z road ahead: about 6h30m is how long the hike takes from Dürrboden to S-chanf. Swap the world of the mundane for the expanse of the dream-like Grisons mountain scenery as you wander uphill through the wildly romantic Dischma Valley towards the Scaletta pass which, at 2606m above sea level, is the highest point of the Via Valtellina. You should reach the top of the pass after about two hours. On the way down you’ll go through the Susauna valley, then along the mountain stream until Engadin. After about 3.5 hours you’ll reach La Resgia, from where you can take a bus from the Chapella bus-stop to Zuoz. If your walking feet aren’t already completely dead then you can add an extra stage to S-chanf (ca. 1h) or Zuoz (ca. 1.5h). At the Hotel Castell in Zuoz, you can relax for a few hours – the hotel’s own steam bath and a well-earned 4-course dinner await you.
