Videx launches door entry video monitor
2N Indoor View upgraded to provide surveillance Designed for high-end residential projects, the 2N Indoor View now plays a dual role as a surveillance device and a control panel for complex home automation systems. 2N’s new firmware allows up to four IP cameras to be connected to the answering unit. These IP cameras do not even need to be connected to the intercom – they only need to be in the same local network as the answering unit. In this way, the resident can use the 2N Indoor View’s 7” colour touchscreen display inside their home to see what is going on in the hallway, behind the house or in the garage. Photos can be taken from each intercom call – including missed calls. Imagine, for example, that there has been a spate of burglaries in your area and you are worried about burglars trying the intercom to see if anyone is at home. The 2N Indoor View now automatically captures snapshots from each call – including missed calls – and adds them to the call log. The unit takes more than one picture in case the person at the door has turned sideways or had their hand in front of the camera at the key moment. The unit can also act as the home automation control panel: HTTP commands can now be sent from the 2N Indoor View, meaning that it is possible to control home automation functions – such as turning on the lights, opening the blinds and calling the lift –

Optex ads functionality to Redscan Pro OPTEX has launched a new firmware update for its REDSCAN PRO LiDAR Series, featuring a number of additional features that further enhance the sensors’ functionality. The ONVIF compliant REDSCAN Pro series – which includes two models, the RLS-3060V with a range up to 30x60m and the RLS50100V up to 50x100m – provides highly accurate detection outdoor and indoor, without any ‘gaps’ or the detection reliability ‘fading’ with range. The upgraded firmware features dynamic event filtering, which allows for alerts to be configured to meet specific detection criteria or logic. Alarms can be raised based on the sequence of zone detection, such as a target entering a specific zone first then a second one. It allows to filter events and focus on what really matters to the security team. In another scenario, for instance in a logistics or warehouse environment, an intelligent logic can be created based on the height of vehicles positioned by the loading bays. Delivery lorries or trucks entering the detection zones would not trigger any alarms, but smaller vehicles such as vans or cars would trigger the system. A series of new modes have been added to the REDSCAN PRO panoramic assistance camera module. To help adapt to further applications and to varying privacy restrictions,

High quality video security images can help the evening economy flourish All urban landscapes have areas that are better avoided at night. However, sometimes opting to take a long way round instead of crossing a railway pedestrian bridge can add precious time to a journey.
T
here are also parts of a city where we find nightclubs, bars, Casinos and other ‘after dark entertainment,’ or even 24 hours gyms, that rely on functioning effectively and safely at night to continue their trade. Nighttime or evening economy means more than just people going to a bar or club. It’s also about having a safe environment that respects those who work late shifts or want to quietly and safely roam the streets as well as those who like to go out in the evening. How could citizens feel more reassured when transiting areas that might be a bit of a security ‘blind spot’? Can night vision cameras be as clear as daylight ones? A good starting point is to use a security camera that can effectively and clearly record images even when the lighting conditions are not ideal. The footage could be needed to ascertain what might have happened in the case of an incident. Blurred and black and
