ow in its ninth edition, Artistar Jewels is a global, transversal project which aims to portray and explore the inspirations, concepts and

ideas of more than 220 artists and designers from all over the world. The goal of this volume is not simply to collect and present new creations; it is a journey inside the creative minds that have given life to exclusive wearable sculptures. Stories, sensations, places and emotions are enclosed within nearly 600 pieces of jewelry that can be contemplated in the prestigious setting of Palazzo Bovara in Milan during the Milano Jewelry Week. The event, accompanied by the Awarding Night, also includes the celebration of the 3 winners among the Artistar Jewels participants and the selection, by galleries and sponsors, of jewelry to display and promote in their showrooms. The judges are international jewelry experts who selected the best artists. MAD About Jewelry director Bryna Pomp, jeweler Alessio Boschi, jewelry consultant Muriel Piaser, Romanian National Jewelry Association Assamblage and Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana founder Guido Solari constituted the jury for this edition. All the jewelry pieces that can be admired by flipping through the pages of this book were carefully selected over the course of the year by a team of curators. The pieces chosen are filled with meaning and capable of expressing the essence of the artists who made them in all their facets. All of the jewelry you will see will be able to unleash the sources of inspiration and brilliance of the artists and take readers on a journey to discover the dedication and craftsmanship of the goldsmith’s art. You will see glimpses of nature, art and architecture, as well as glances of ancient history and details of artists’ travels and birthplaces.

The perfection and harmony of nature is often represented through the silhouettes of animals and the organic and elegant shapes of flower petals and leaves, while Greek gods, Etruscan culture, European painters, and Cubism are some of the contaminations that come from the art world. In the next few pages you will be transported directly into the different realities of emerging or established artists who, through their creations, have decided to tell their stories and their evocative vision of the world. From America to Asia, passing through Africa and Oceania and arriving in European countries and Italy, each of them brings along its own traditions and diverse cultural and social background, resulting in a narrative journey that peers deeply into the spirit of artistic jewelry.

ACQUA ACQUA Elena Orlova is a sculptor and designer of Russian origin, naturalized Italian. The fusion of two cultures, together with the design studio in Moscow and the sculpture studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa, give rise to the “ACQUA” brand. The goldsmith study in Valencia and gemmology at GIA, the internship at Bulgari in Valencia, the LVMH Masterclasses in Florence and Rome, further enrich the creative path. The “ACQUA” jewel is born from the artistic idea and the refined Italian craftsmanship.

ADA LOVE ADA LOVE Mariana Genoveze’s passion for exploration gave birth to Ada Love, a journey into the diverse world of materials like silver, gold, wax, and more recently, glass. This poetic endeavour seeks to expand the boundaries of contemporary jewellery, unravelling their inherent possibilities while preserving their distinctiveness. Mariana’s research focuses on the essence of form, devoid of superfluous words, embracing the true essence of each material with utmost respect for their unique characteristics.

Biomórfico The Biomórfico earring is crafted using blown glass techniques and really seems to have a life of its own, when heating a glass tube she never knows exactly what shape it will come out, regardless of her intention to control it. Its organic forms showcases vibrant swirls of purples, pinks, oranges and yellows within the translucent glass, thanks to silver and gold fuming, that adds an ethereal allure. Made with durable borosilicate glass, each piece is a unique wearable work of art.

Bolha Before learning how to blow glass, she already imagined the concept of the Bolha earring: a large glass bubble floating on the ears, light eight but powerful, with only a thin silver hoop to support it. Each bubble can have its own personality, sometimes a perfect bubble, sometimes smashed and other times more organic as if they were alive. Its ethereal colours are added by the magic of chemistry, gold and silver vaporized in flame creates shades of pink and yellow.

Her jewellery stands out through daring volumes and innovative surface finishes, offering one’s body an atypical jewellery wearability. In her work she uses platinum, gold, silver, gems, next to unconventional materials such as resin and Corian.

Viva Magenta Colours are an amazing phenomenon! This is the phrase with which this colourful collection started. Through it the artist wanted to show the alchemical power of colours. ARRO ARRO Nana is a Japanese jewellery designer. After gaining experience as designer for ISSEY MIYAKE and other Japanese fashion brands, she launched ARRO in 2017. All the pieces are embroidered using highly programmed machines and assembled by hand. The three-dimensional and colourful shapes are inspired by the plants and animals of an imaginary paradise in her mind. Very light embroidered jewellery gently fits on the wearer, and colourful colors bring a peaceful mind to the person wearing it.

Conch A ring made using a complex series of patterns. The main feature is the conch shell design, and the voluminous, lightweight, and textured fabric has been delicately embroidered. *The ring can be adjusted +/- roughly two sizes to fit the finger. *Gentleness should be used when adjusting the size. Also, repeatedly adjusting the size or bending and stretching with excessive force can break the ring or cause the plating to come loose, so careful use is recommended.

The idea to start the jewellery was given by the dog, that was digging in the backyard of the house, and the 2 year old son, who was finding colourful stones from that whole and putting them in his box saying those are his treasures/gemstones. At that time he was talking to his childhood friend whom he told about it and he thought it was a great idea to start making jewels with gemstones.

BP_BARBARA BP_BARBARA PROVERBIO PROVERBIO BP was created in July 2005 in Venice; today it is based in Novara and has a single-brand store in Milan. Barbara, born in 1979 in Novara, attends Architecture in Venice, “stumbles on glass” and from here a love is born. She designs, draws and flame-crafts every piece of BP jewellery. BP is a hybrid between design and high craftsmanship, in constant balance between the two. BP jewels are conceived as fittings for the body and the body is seen as a terrain on which to experiment and design. They are glass dreams.

Allamanda Allamanda is an oversized necklace in mouth-blown glass modelled freehand without the aid of a mold. It is a necklace of resilience, representing the will to rise again, to climb exactly like an allamanda plant does, like a force that climbs driven by pure instinct, from within on a woman’s neck. It is a spiked bumper necklace. It was created in September 2022 without commercial intentions, from the sole need of the creator to give herself a voice.

Crepe Crepe is in blown glass, the evolution of “Bacla” necklace from 2020 that told a love story. It represents the fracture of certainties, it has a material skin with a raquelé effect, as if the glass pearl were to crack and a tear would come out, coloured and also of hope. The colour chosen for the tear is whale blue: a 2020 blend made in a period full of beauty. It is a necklace of hope: the hope that love will be reborn from tears.

DOMINIQUE AUDETTE DOMINIQUE AUDETTE She is a jeweller, jewellery designer, art historian and author of a book on jewellery design. She started to practice the trade in 1975 by working in various workshops in Quebec and continued with her own studio for several years, during which she exhibited in various fairs in Quebec. At the same time, she began a career teaching jewellery making, design, and history, which took up the majority of her time. She now focuses solely on creating her own jewels.

Istanbul She often draws inspiration from her travel memories. Here, the shape of the dome is reminiscent of the tales of the Arabian Nights of the countries of the Near East. The dome was carved and cast in silver. After assembling it on its base, she poured black resin for the arabesques of the dome and then poured a large mass of blue resin that she cut to achieve this effect. The base of the dome is covered with gold leaf.

Iceberg When spring finally arrives, the ice that melts on the rivers causes ice jams that pile up chaotically on the banks. We can only admire the beauty where we did not expect it and the ice reveals its turquoise blue color of the South Seas. A kind of respite while waiting for milder times. The exterior finish was inspired by the sharp breaks of the ice. The shy rays of early spring sunshine are represented here by the gold motif on the top of the ring.

GARDEN OF WIND GARDEN OF WIND Jaehee Jung, a Seoul-based Jeweller, graduated from Dongduk Women’s University with a major in digital artcraft. She later attained a master’s degree in metal craft. Jaehee’s creative poetry has long been an emotional outlet, with wind as her primary inspiration. By molding the lyrical language of the winds that consoled and uplifted her, she crafts jewellery that touches the hearts of wearers and viewers alike. Her works embody the beauty and solace found in the delicate embrace of the wind.

Wind In My Heart 95×90×60mm She wants to own it, but the wind stays with her for a while and as soon as they meet, they break up. The wind was reproduced as a permanent presence by making metal with strong durability. The wind from the outside passes, but the wind from the heart is shaped by shape, volume, and weight through imagination, and stays with us forever. And she expressed the lightness of the wind flying in the air with a metal net.

Windy Garden 145×70×45mm The stationary grass is close to a straight line, but when the wind blows, the grass crosses each other’s territory in a flexible curve. Enjoy the lively scenes and refreshing sounds created by dancing with the wind. In order to express the freshness of the grass, green enamel was applied to the end of the metal net to finish it, adding decorations. The repetition of the green dot creates a sense of rhythm in a formative way and gives a refreshing feeling.

GERMAN KABIRSKI GERMAN KABIRSKI German Kabirski is a contemporary designer, who aims to reinvent jewellery by offering bold statement accessories for people to express themselves rather than adorn. He sees no value in the traditional approach, which is all about demonstrating the owner’s wealth and social status. German Kabirski embraces freedom and individuality; values flaws and imperfections that make the best art pieces just as much as the human character.

Thoth Rough Ruby This designer silver ring breaks traditional jewelry rules by featuring natural rough rubies set in silver using the original German Kabirski-invented method. The designer incorporates unconventional materials, adding titanium mesh to the silver structure. German Kabirski is like a rebellious child of the jewelry world, defying jewelry norms with every twist and turn. Vice Versa First there were diamonds... This pair of nice elongated golden color kite shape diamonds Sergey has found recently. When he seen it at first time, he immediately imagined them in earrings. It was difficult to choose which side to hang them down and which side up. He had to come up with a mechanism for both options. It turned out two decorations in one: one version is more classic, and the second is more aggressive, gothic.

Chamomile You will not see standard shaped diamonds in this ring. In the center of the “Chamomile” ring there is an orange octagonal-shaped diamond, and the flower petals are assembled from three sets of ultra-precise step-cut diamonds, made according to Sergey’s designs. In the photo below you can see how elegantly the design of the petals is made and it is difficult to imagine how professionally the assembly work was done. This ring took first place at the main competition of Russian jewelry art - “Russia. XXI century”, conducted by the Gokhran of Russia and the Ministry of Culture.
