THEJewelry DROPS, an ever-evolving international editorial project, shines a spotlight on the excellence of the jewelry world and the extraordinary stories behind it. This flipbook immerses readers into the lives of 43 artists from over 25 countries, showcasing nearly 120 unique pieces. Through striking visuals and insightful descriptions, these creators unveil the stories and experiences that inspire their work, blending aesthetics with deep personal reflection.

In an era where digitalization strives to replicate human emotion, art and craftsmanship stand as authentic manifestations of human sentiment. They remind us that art and emotion are inseparable, inviting us to observe each piece of jewelry with curiosity and allowing our feelings to connect with those of the artist.

A recurring theme in these works is the artists’ journey back to their origins, contrasting with the fast pace of modern life. Their cultural heritage and personal histories are integral to their creations, leading us on a global voyage through diverse cultures and traditions. This is evident in the meticulous Japanese craftsmanship of Tomiko (Japan), the traditional turtle shell patterns by MANA (Japan), and the celebration of Italian-Egyptian heritage by Fine Jewelry Masterpieces (Australia). Other examples include inspiration from Quranic verses in Hidden Treasure’s work (Kuwait) and the elegant use of Arabic calligraphy in Lulwa Fine Jewelry’s designs (Kuwait/Dubai).

Alongside this reverence for heritage is an awareness that today’s creations will become tomorrow’s legacies. Laure Victoria Gaury’s (Switzerland) jewelry, designed as “poetic capsules” of stories and emotions, and Dalia’s (Croatia) pieces, which resonate deeply with the wearer, embody this. BARZAKH (United Arab Emirates) further explores the intersection of identity and experience, weaving together the past and present in its designs.

This cycle of evolution, where inheritance and legacy intertwine, is also expressed through the use of recycled materials. Kika lfb, upcycled micro macramé jewerly (Switzerland) breathes new life into worn jewelry, while La Loba che soffia nell’Anima di Barbara Cuniberti (Italy) transforms natural elements like driftwood, shells, and teeth into stunning pieces. Re...by Tony Drawbridge (New Zealand) goes even further, turning plastic and metal waste into wearable art.

In contrast to traditional craftsmanship passed down through generations, some artists embrace advanced technologies and techniques to push boundaries. W Van de Velde (Belgium) merges various disciplines with modern technology, while Hidden Treasure (Kuwait) and Paul Amey (Australia) blend classical goldsmithing with cutting-edge 3D printing to create something entirely new.

he inspiration for the creation of this masterpiece came from the leaf, an element that has long captured attention throughout various artistic periods. The aim was to evoke the feeling of a dense carpet of leaves, similar to those found on a tree-lined avenue in autumn, while still maintaining a sense of order and harmony. The bracelet was meticulously handcrafted, combining yellow gold leaves and white gold leaves adorned with diamonds, all connected by delicate yellow gold wires.

Aroval Gioielli is the coronation of Annalia’s intuition, creativity, and artisan expertise, developed through years of studying and working with master goldsmiths in Valenza. TAURORA BRACELET

he bracelet is one of the highlights of the Aurora collection. The name of the collection clearly refers to the aurora borealis. Much like the northern lights, all the pieces in the collection display a captivating play of colors and lights designed to mesmerize the viewer. Carmine achieved the craftsmanship of these pieces by using: natural multicolor sapphires to represent the full chromatic spectrum, diamonds to enhance brilliance, and rose gold to harmonize all the elements.

Based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, Barzakh is a genderless jewelry brand that aims to dissect and build upon the human element. It merges and blurs the lines between different aspects of existence, serving as a bridge that connects identities and experiences. Barzakh acts as a catalyst for examining spiritual, physical, and emotional influences. Through its designs, the brand creates an incubating space that simultaneously explores the connection and separation within the human experience.

METAMORPHOSIS SIGNET

The Metamorphosis Signet Ring from BARZAKH’s debut collection, ”Howling Through the Threshold”, symbolizes unbridled transformation. Its raw finish features bold carvings that intertwine across its surface, extending to the tusk-like tips. The intricate bridges and open spaces evoke unseen connections and subtle separations, reflecting the collection’s exploration of the intermediate state, existence, and liminality.

T he Sliver Earcuff from BARZAKH’s debut collection, “Howling Through the Threshold,” is an experimental exploration of dualities. This piece embodies BARZAKH’s philosophy, encouraging the wearer to embrace the metaphor of everyday reality and the fluid boundaries between the known and the unknown.

Christine Faulhaber has been designing high-quality, unique, and sustainable pieces of jewelry in her own studio. As a master goldsmith, she is passionate about exploring the history of jewelry making. She enjoys blending traditional and historical craftsmanship with modern techniques, combining metalwork with gemstones. Her personal goal is to stylishly highlight natural materials using minimalist and delicate precious metal elements, crafting extraordinary pieces of jewelry that stand out for their elegance and originality.

he design aims to transport the essence of the golden 1920s into the present. The circles at the top symbolize the growth of ideas, scattered through an open fan of rose gold, with delicate surface details created by the traditional craft of guilloché. The circles flying out of the fan represent the realization of those ideas. They converge in the opal, which, with its diverse patterns, breaks conventional norms and embodies a new spirit.

Diana M. Schuhmacher, born in Romania in 1978, worked for many years on projects related to the world of architecture. In 2020, she decided to turn her passion for jewelry into a full-time pursuit. Through her creations, she challenges the boundaries of imagination and design. Diana works with various metals, including silver, copper, bronze, and gold, often combining them with stones and other materials to craft unique and expressive pieces of jewelry.

In these chaotic times, where fake news dominates, the necklace symbolizes the act of disconnecting from reality and reconnecting with creativity. Made of brass, the cord dares to extend the wearer into uncharted territories of imagination.

A tie began its renowned journey in Croatia and spread across Europe in the 17th century. During the Thirty Years’ War, Croatian soldiers tied scarves around their necks as a distinctive symbol, a style known as ‘a la Croate’. Today, this elegant fashion accessory is recognized and worn worldwide. This exquisite necklace pays homage to the tie as a symbol of Croatia. Brass puzzles intertwine this story like the finest silk, captivating with its uniqueness, elegance, and the power of its details.

Dalia is a unique storyteller. At times subtle and gentle, at others direct and determined, her art is a constant interplay of contrasts. She experiments with diverse materials, crafting unconventional forms and deviating from standards with a clear determination to create an authentic body of work. Her jewelry embodies the poetry of the moment, drawing inspiration from nature, memories, and everyday life. Silver and Moonstone fuse together in a magical display of 420 floret rays, crafting the poetic essence of this necklace, one of Dalía’s standout creations. Her words echo the spirit behind the design: “Peace, warmth, flight, hopes, wishes... the list could go on, but it doesn’t even matter. Just look at it and feel.” She encourages others to be like a dandelion, surrendering to the wind, embracing detachment, and flying into the unknown, as this is the only path to growth.

This silver ring perfectly represents Dalia’s passion for storytelling without words, capturing the beauty of the motifs we often take for granted. ”With an open mind, open eyes, and an open heart.” Her stage is mysterious and serene, offering a much-needed escape from chaos. Crossing the bridge, one discovers that the most entertaining version of oneself is hard to resist. There, joy is abundant, filled with energy and mystery. ”And so, I smile!”

Brass is one of Dalia’s favorite materials for artistic expression. Its shiny surface always draws attention, and its malleability allows for playful exploration of shapes and motifs, as seen in this bracelet and earring set. This is a simple ”I love chocolate” story, told without a word, through a delectable brass-copper armband. Paired with candy-shaped earring, this piece guarantees a delightful sweetness overload, without any guilt.

M ilano: a tribute to the iconic architecture and timeless charm of the fashion capital. This antique silver-plated necklace captures the essence of Milan’s skyline with a pendant that beautifully interprets the aerial view of the famous Duomo. The pendant’s intricate details are enriched with 18 hand-set zircons that reflect light, much like the cathedral’s gleaming rooftops silhouetted against the city’s sky.

The “Daisy Azel” necklace is a delicate piece that embodies the natural beauty and elegance of contemporary design. Made from high-quality platinum-plated brass, it features a flower-shaped pendant formed by the letter “D” from Donzella, creating a harmonious and sophisticated interplay of shapes. At the heart of the flower, a hand-set blue zircon adds a captivating touch of color and brilliance, reflecting light in an enchanting way.

Growing up in Moscow, Elena discovered her true passion in studying literature and art, while also exploring modeling and sculpting, and experimenting with various materials. Under the guidance of some of the best Russian jewelers, she honed her craft. After relocating to Prague, she founded her own enterprise, Elenka Studio, a brand of exclusive designer statement jewels that perfectly complement both casual office styles and intimate cocktail looks. Each piece is unique, handmade, and exists as a singular creation.

he artist is captivated by metal’s ability to convey meaning, pushing it beyond mere superficial expression. The Natural Opal, being exceptionally fragile, possesses a mystical beauty and a starry night glow that demands a frame, one that is delicate yet firm. The gemstone dictates the form of the gold and silver, while guarding a secret that will only be unveiled to its rightful owner.

Eruanna means God’s Grace, symbolizing consciousness and loving free will. Reflecting on humanity’s evolution from nature’s struggles to civilization, it addresses modern society’s detachment from nature and reliance on mass industrial systems. This project aims to express gratitude for both nature and civilization, fostering understanding of our origins and promoting balance with the natural world. Its goal is to positively influence the human-nature relationship, reminding people of the importance of conscious living and reconnecting with Earth and God.

Honoring the mineral aspect of existence, from which all life emerged. Before life was organic, it was mineral. From the base of the chain, it is brought back to the divine through conscious appreciation and art. This is the original “La Tierra” piece, a ring the artist envisioned in its materials before it was ever forged, serving as a shrine to the mineral layer of being. Inspired by the “Great Chain of Being” cosmology, he developed the unique setting style, utilizing half domes, entirely on my own.

L ost in the underworld and enclosed in free-flowing metal, the bracelet symbolizes a celebration of personal freedom. Hidden within its imperfect form is a discovery, illustrated by golden threads connecting turquoise-like neurons. The design tells a story shaped by the mirrored expression of processed gemstones and the unique forms of metal, pieced together by human flaws. On the wrist, it becomes a master of thought and desire.

E xpanding from the original “La Tierra,” this piece serves as a shrine in honor of the mineral layer of being. Taken to its fullest expression, it features an array of minerals, each preserved in its natural state. Honoring the mineral aspect of existence, from which all life emerged, it reflects the idea that before life was organic, it was mineral. From the base of the chain, existence is brought back to the divine through conscious appreciation and art. The half-dome setting style is my own discovery and innovation.

SURREALIST EYE

T he ring from the Surrealism Collection line is inspired by Dalì’s art, reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The model was hand-molded in wax and created with the lost wax casting technique, partly combined with the electroforming technique. The ring is made of 925 silver, 18Kt gold plated and enamelled. In this collection, facial elements, such as the eyes, were chosen to reflect the most intimate emotions, fears and intentions.

ig, Bold, and Beautiful. Since childhood, she has always been captivated by the sparkling jewels of Swedish royalty. In 2010, she was completely mesmerized when she saw Crown Princess Victoria wearing the diamond epaulette earrings. So inspired by those earrings, she decided to create her own pair of statement earrings. Statement earrings make dressing up a simple outfit effortless. These earrings can be worn either as a pair or solo, depending on the desired look.

Federica Rossi was born in Arezzo to a family of textile entrepreneurs in the high fashion industry. After earning a law degree, she decided to join the family business. Over time, she developed the desire to create jewelry that could inspire dreams, an idea that took shape when she presented some of her designs, originally created as a passion, to international designers. This allowed her to start producing her first jewelry collections. The experience proved crucial for the creation of the Federica Rossi Jewels brand.

The ring from the Surrealism Collection is made of 925 silver, plated with 18kt gold, and enameled. It is a sculptural jewel where the boundary between art and jewelry is very thin, due to its intrinsic artistic meaning. The ring features elements such as the mouth, a symbol of the meeting between matter and spirit, food and air, as well as logos, feeling, and culture. The nose, linked to intuition and smell, the first sense connected to the mother, also represents the relationship with power, pride, and sexuality.

“Bold enough to make a statement, simple enough to wear with anything.” Camilla Frisälv, born in Stockholm, Sweden, is a fine jewellery designer known for creating big, bold, and beautiful pieces. She started her brand after purchasing the most stunning pavé ring she had ever seen as a birthday gift for herself. Her sense of style and love for jewels continue to inspire her. Every piece is a work of art, crafted in Stockholm from the earth’s raw treasures, with love and attention to detail.

T imeless Elegance. Jewelry designers have long drawn inspiration from the starry night sky. In ancient Egypt, stars symbolized the gods and their control over the universe. Stars have remained popular motifs among women during the Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian eras. She found inspiration in the movie “The Young Victoria,” starring Emily Blunt. To her, stars represent hope, dreams, and the pursuit of one’s aspirations.

Faith Jewels, led by Founder and Creative Director Faith Hilda, creates jewelry masterpieces through artistic design. With a background in architecture and fine arts, Faith designs narrative-driven jewels by collaborating closely with clients to capture their unique stories and emotions. She views jewelry as a form of ephemeral architecture, a sculpted expression of beauty that deepens the connection between the wearer and the piece. Each creation reflects a harmonious blend of personal narrative and artistic vision.

T he Cloud Ring captures the essence of ethereal cloudscapes, featuring a rare Madagascan sapphire, selected for its exceptional color purity and clarity. Hand-carved mother of pearl tablets enhance its luminosity, with soft flashes of blue, green, and purple across their surface, reminiscent of sunlight filtering through clouds. Delicate diamond-frosted edges symbolize life’s ”silver linings.” Balanced on a movable axis, the clouds can gently shift in two directions, inviting the wearer to interact and play.

T o complement the Rainbow Ring, Faith designed a matching pair of earrings that embody the same elegance and innovation. These stunning earrings feature a shorter arc of three petals, each meticulously crafted to mirror the pinwheel motif of the ring and adorned with over 400 natural white diamonds. A delicate ombré gradient flows through the colored titanium, transitioning seamlessly from one hue to the next, adding an extra layer of sophistication and technical brilliance to the design.

Pendant | 18Kt Yellow Gold, Aryiani Wood Bukhor, Oud Oil, Arabic Gum

T raditionally, burning Bukhor before wearing jewelry is common during special occasions. A 3D print was used to create a mold from the Bukhor mixture to fabricate the brooch. As it burns away, it reveals a two-sided coin pendant, created through 3D printing and cast in 18K gold. Inspired by the Quran, the first side features a verse from Surat Ibrahim (Verse 7), meaning “If you are grateful, God will increase His favors upon you.” The second side reads “Thank God,” inscribed in Arabic Thuluth calligraphy and adorned with 96 wheat motifs.

Giovanni Aliotta hails from a historic Sicilian family that has been involved in the goldsmith sector since 1920. His passion for design has earned him numerous accolades in prestigious international competitions, including being a world finalist in the 2006 Tahitian Pearl Trophy International with his BlackFire brooch. As Art Director of lui Protodesign srl, he oversees various projects in the luxury, art, and fashion sectors, working with established brands and special clients.

Kuwaiti designer Hawraa AlMaqseed has created two pieces of Hidden Jewelry, offering a unique experience that integrates modern digital modeling and fabrication methods. She is the founder of INDSOPH Company and the Aich jewelry brand. With an MFA in Industrial Design, Hawraa has been designing jewelry since 2008. Specializing in industrial design, jewelry, and 3D printing, her work focuses on advanced design and innovative manufacturing, pushing the boundaries of traditional jewelry-making techniques.

The Bukhor Bangle conceals an 18K gold chain inside. A 3D-printed mold was used to fabricate the bangle. The chain consists of 24 wheat motifs, and together with the pendant, totals 120 wheat motifs, all created through 3D printing and cast in gold. The wheat design is inspired by Verse 261 of Surat Al-Baqarah, which means, ”The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of wheat, and God multiplies His reward and prosperity.”

Yuqing is a jeweler from China and the creative director of the family-inherited brand Holiturns, as well as the founder of WU U. She graduated from the MA Jewellery & Metal program at the Royal College of Art in the UK. Yuqing’s approach to jewelry challenges traditional concepts of commercial jewelry. She believes that the charm of jewelry should not be confined to precious materials. As an independent form of artistic expression, jewelry should be pure, open, and self-expressive.

Yuqing shaped the design using two sections of bamboo to create an upward trend. By controlling the shape of the bamboo poles, the hard texture is captured. The color is represented by tsavorite, the green gemstone that most closely resembles bamboo.

In this accelerated, technology-driven capitalist society, it symbolizes a return to asceticism, nostalgia, and primal power. The piece evokes the image of a mysterious object found on the beach, reminiscent of Aladdin’s magic lamp, summoning the hidden desires and emotions within the viewer, calling forth the deep, instinctual rhythm of the human heart.

WEATHERING SERIES II

Ring | Silver, Gold Palladium, Pyrite

The work combines the geometry of minerals with wave-like soft curves, symbolizing the interplay between two forms of time: ”weathering” and “crystallization,” as well as the contrast between “soft” and “tough” in nature. The question of how one carries the traces of time finds its answer here. The loose texture of weathering and the rigid texture of pyrite evoke the two forces time imposes on the world, further extending and spreading them through the wearing and winding of the human body.

ow does one witness the passage of time? How does one carry the traces it leaves? The growth cycle of minerals is incredibly long, often taking millions of years to form crystals. These minerals have silently observed the rise and fall of human dynasties, only emerging through mining. Crystallization requires time, as does weathering. Fullness and loss, abundance and scarcity, follow a cyclical pattern. This is all that exists in the world, governed by the natural laws of time’s passage.

BCHRYSALIS

Ring | Silver, Gold Palladium, Baroque pearl

reaking the cocoon, turning into a butterfly. When residing in the cocoon, Chrysalis symbolizes vast potential, a state of readiness for metamorphosis. The ecological process of growing from pupa to butterfly is abstracted by simulating the shape of butterfly wings in metal and using pearls as a metaphor for the pupa. Two different forms of time are expressed simultaneously, revealing the symbolic meaning of “Chrysalis” as a representation of “new birth” and the promise of a bright future.

Spring evokes a sense of renewal, with yellow and red aloe flowers blooming on seed-covered stems and warm winds sweeping across the Mediterranean. Repurposed heirloom gemstones are set to “float” above the curved band, showcasing their vibrant colors. Handcrafted modern filigree, made from impossibly thin recycled gold thread, gracefully rises to a comfortable point. This flamboyant contemporary design blends with meticulous craftsmanship, capturing the optimism and abundance of spring.

AL ANDALUZ

Earrings | Yellow Gold 18Kt, Enamel

T

he south holds a special place, with its delicious food, sun, architecture, and people. These earrings draw inspiration from Moorish architecture, specifically the decorations at Bab Mansour, a gateway in Meknes, Morocco. The geometric pattern of the ceramic wall tiles was transformed into an organic shape. Naturally, color plays an important role. The vibrant hues were achieved through enameling in white, yellow, blue, and green. Appropriately, they were named Al Andaluz, honoring the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Tara’s sophisticated luxury jewellery captures a fragment of each clients’ soul, transforming their emotions and memories into unique wearable sculptures. Her statement designs have a “wow” factor, often concealing exclusive symbolism known only to the wearer. An award-winning goldsmith, Tara’s artistry empowers her to innovatively handcraft these opulent sustainable jewels, skilfully weaving “eleven-like” filigree, colourful gemstones and enamel into the DNA of her curvaceous creations.

ove is a feeling jewelry designers have sought to capture for millennia, yet few have drawn inspiration from a bulbous plant in the Arabian Desert. The vibrant flowers of the desert rose, however, serve as the perfect symbol of the overwhelming joy felt by a man whose love agrees to move to Dubai. Silver flecks, embedded in vivid enamel, highlight a flawless diamond, all encased in a frame of intricate filigree. A truly personal token of his deep affection.

Tineke began her training as a goldsmith with no intention of turning it into a profession. At the time, she was working as an occupational therapist but wanted to recreate her lost wedding ring, and that led to a new path. Since 2007, she has been designing her own jewelry. Her studio, GoldLAb, is located in Roeselare, Belgium, where she now works alongside her daughter Zoë, who is also a goldsmith. Together, they aim to create unique pieces that make every individual shine.

SECOND SKIN

Bracelet | Silver 925

The first version of this bracelet was crafted in leather, which inspired the name Second Skin. Some leather bracelets were even gifted by the Flemish government to foreign politicians visiting Flanders. This silver version was created to showcase how the choice of material can drastically transform a design. Although the silver version is notably heavier than the leather one, it retains its lightness in spirit, maintaining both its playful nature and wearability.

Vânia Ladeira, a Brazilian artist, has been crafting jewelry for 25 years. Graduating in Jewelry and Arts Design, she founded a brand synonymous with innovation and personality. Her art is guided by a simple, evocative philosophy: jewelry that tells stories. In each design, there is a dialogue between the artist and the material, an alchemical process that draws from memories and feelings. In her studio, she forges handcrafted jewelry that transforms dreams into tangible forms.

The handcrafted millerighe finish with crossed stripes is studded with tsavorite garnets in a star setting. The central stone, a hexagonal mint peridot, is surrounded by diamonds. The base features hexagonal shapes, alternating openwork and blind cells that emphasize the polish, in contrast with the satin effect above. The central concept evokes a vibrant firmament of stars surrounding and heralding a dominant central star, shining brightly in the galaxy with its unique color.

T he central gem is a rare Indicolite cat’s eye cabochon, creating a captivating line of light along the stone, accentuated by the deep central crack, almost splitting the ring in half with its force. The lines, both soft and strict, are emphasized by the polish. From the side, the stone’s profile resembles the precious dome of a Middle Eastern-style basilica, symbolizing the receptacle of intense and spiritually elevated energies.

The jewel is composed of the following materials: an electronic recording module, plexiglass, and stainless steel. The project consists of two modules, one featuring a female voice and the other a male voice, both introducing themselves. The first ring, called Emmake, represents an international dancer, while the second, Ollike, represents an underground photographer. The rings are nearly identical, differing only in the voice. This project is a collaboration that merges different artistic disciplines.

Van de Velde Willy began as a musician and always sought to combine different disciplines. This curiosity led him to explore and practice various fields. With current technology, the possibility of creating a mix or fusion of these disciplines has become more accessible. He finds it fascinating to work not only on a large scale but also on smaller projects, such as his jewelry. Since the early 1980s, he has been recycling materials, as well as sounds and images, to fuel his creative process.

The ring is crafted from wood sourced from a fruit box in France, featuring a built-in electronic light module. The base is made of plexiglass. The light module can be programmed with various texts and angles from which the text is displayed. This ring, along with the two others, Ollike and Emmake, was created for an exhibition during the design week in Venice. The intriguing aspect of this piece lies in the combination of disposable packaging (the wooden box) with a high-tech light module.

Yiting Weng is a jewellery designer who enjoys exploring the role that jewellery plays in everyday life. For her, jewellery serves as a medium of expression, a visual representation of people’s inner emotions, and a tool for individuals to communicate with the outside world. She believes that jewellery, as a medium, inevitably influences the formation of ideas. She continually seeks to explore what jewellery, as a form of expression, can contribute to the development of a creative concept.

he Subconsciousness Jewellery Collection is inspired by the unconscious actions people perform in their daily lives. Each piece is designed to be both functional and playful, encouraging individuals to interact with their subconscious behaviors in a light-hearted yet meaningful manner. Made from metal and silicone, this piece connects to involuntary hand movements. The wearer can relieve stress by pressing the silicone surface, making it both an aesthetic and practical accessory.

The body of the brooch is made of sponge, offering the wearer a soft, easily kneaded texture. It can be worn on any part of the garment, not just the chest, serving as both a decorative piece and a tool for relaxation. The Subconsciousness jewelry collection is designed to inspire wearers to connect with their subconscious desires and emotions, using jewelry as a means of self-expression and exploration, merging aesthetics with personal introspection.
