Time to Spike up your Nails! As this winter shows us a darker, more scary face of fashion... Alexander McQueen
silver spikes HOW YOU DO IT Apply two coats of Gellak n째 26 Black Saint on all nails, following the standard application method. Cure for 6 minutes (the black pigments need more time to cure). Take off the spikes you need from the transparent sheet. Before use, make sure to clear the spikes from all remaining sticky residue with some Non Aceton Polish Remover on a cotton pad. Apply one coat of Gellak Shine & Protect on all nails. Do not cure. Bring the spikes into place using a Long Bended Tweezer. As long as the Gellak Shine & Protect is still wet, you can move the spikes into the position you want. Cure for 2 minutes.

1. Apply ProNails Nail Polish 327 Smokin’Grey on all nails and let dry well. 2. Use ProNails Gelinsky Stampart with ProNails Waterbased Striping Colour White lightly diluted with water. Stamp 2 large circles on the nail. 3-4. With ProNails Kolinksky Art Brush n° 0 design both crosses on the nails. 5. With ProNails Kolinsky Art Brush n° 0 and Propaint Fluo Yellow you add the colored touch into the crosses. 6. Finish the nails with the round medallion in the cross with Propaint Sunset using the same brush. 7. Protect the Propaint design with ProNails Seco Seco*. Finish off with Matt Touch if you want to obtain the matt look. *TIP: do not use Matt Touch directly over your Propaint design as this might affect the Propaint.

Apply Matt Touch on all nails and let them dry. Once the Matt Touch is completely dry, apply ProNails Gellak Shine & Protect there where you want to add the Mosaic Pearls pattern. Bring the Pearls one by one into place, using the Deco Tool Deluxe. This work requires a great deal of patience! As long as the Gellak Shine & Protect is still wet you can improve your Mosaic pearls pattern to perfection! Cure for 2 minutes. ProNails @Fashion Week Nothing is what it seems! Everyone knows that you’ll have to visit fashion week to find out all about the new trends for the upcoming season. In spring, the great designers present the IT-look for forthcoming winter, and in autumn, they don’t care about the cold and focus fully on their spring and summer collection. They’re always a step ahead. These days beauty trends get launched during fashion weeks too. The biggest brands in the industry for nails, hair and make-up come up with a completely new look, matching the designer’s collection. ProNails came up with a perfectly matching look for the nails! Belgian designer duo A.F. Vandevorst presented their impressive new winter collection during Paris Fashion Week on March the first. They worked with a color scheme in shades of grey: from ink black to off-white and everything in between. An occasional dash of deep purple is present, yet the main protagonists for this collection seemed to be the different rich textures and magnificent subtle paisley prints. The combination of various fabrics such as silk, leather, knitted wool and wonderful prints gets full attention due to the simplicity of the color palette.

For the nails we wanted that same sober but fashionable colour scheme and we searched quite a bit to find the right texture: a matt leather look! Truly a perfect match to this collection. We decided on ProNails Nail Polish n° 293 Patented Black and the new ProNails Nail Polish n° 327 Smokin’ Grey. Dark grey really is the latest vogue. At A.F. Vandevorst, we spotted almost exclusively different shades of grey. While other designers chose lots of anthracite shades as well. For lighter silhouettes we used the greyish nude ProNails Nail Polish n° 283 Urban Cool, topped off with our Matt Touch top coat, to get that same matt effect. Some of the models were given an exclusive look for their hands: their lower arms were entirely painted in a charcoal black. Combine this with the dark matt nails, and you’ll get something like wafer-thin black gloves. A sublime effect! In fashion today nothing really is what it seems. Apply 2 layers ProNails Gellak n° 71 Bianchissimo on all nails and cure for 2 minutes. Cover the entire nail with ProNails Nail Polish n° 215 Step Out Of The Dark and let dry well. Design a black spiral with ProNails Striping Colour Waterbased Black. 3. With ProNails Nail Art Brush Crystal 00 and ProNails Propaint Night fill the nails with mini dots following the design. 4. With ProNails Gelinksky Stampart Brush and ProNails Nail Polish n° 326 Indecent Indigo used in a very small quantity – stamp the colour lightly on the nails fading the colour down. 5. Add the white dots using Propaint Divine and the green dots with ProNails Nail Polish n° 325 Haunted green and the Deco Tool Deluxe. 6. Protect your ProNails Propaint and apply one coat of ProNails Gellak Shine & Protect. Cure for 2 minutes under the UV lamp.* 7. Yohann Antignac I’ve been working as a nail stylist for 8 years. After my education in ‘Fine Arts’, I graduated as a beautician. After 5 years of working in a beauty salon, I decided to start my own business called ‘YohannArt’. Since then, I’ve been working as a mobile nail technician in the Nancy area (France).
It’s great to be able to finally put a face to the names I’ve regularly seen in Naily News magazine and I got a taste of all the tips & tricks other nail stylists use. To feel their enthusiasm and passion is so inspiring… after a day like today it’s impossible to return home without new inspiration and ideas.
I’ve been educated by the ProNails brand from the very beginning and I look forward to their new products and trends every season. I mainly use the Perfection line for building and sculpting the nails, and for a perfect creative result I always turn to the Propaints. To get inspiration for Nail Art designs, I don’t always consult fashion or beauty; I look into illustrations, design and tattoos. My Nail Art style is more artistic and figurative, and less decorative.

1. Use Gellak n° 128 Château Margaux to design your French Manicure in a perfect oval smile. 2. Use ProNails Kolinsky Art Brush n°0 and apply ProNails Gellak n° 23 Chocolat Chips in a curled design. Make sure to create a 3D design on the nail! Cure for 1 minute. The gel must remain sticky! 3. Take your ProNails Nail Foil Solid Gold. Push it on the 3D design and remove it. You will notice that the Gold Foil will remain on the nail. 4. Take a little of the white glitters from the ProNails Glitter Tower Sparkles and place some glitters on the spot where you will place the pearlstone. 5. For the pearl stone in the middle of the nail spot: mix ProNails Unicum Clear with a little Propaint Neptunus and also ProNails Unicum Clear with Propaint Greengold in 2 different jars. 6. On top of this spot first place a drop of the mixture Unicum/Neptunus, followed by a smaller drop of Unicum/Greengold. Cure the entire drop for 2 minutes under the UV lamp. 7. Finish with your favourite gloss.

1. Use ProNails Gellak n° 71 Bianchissimo to design your French Manicure in a perfect oval smile. 2-4. Use ProNails Kolinsky Art Brush n°0 and ProNails Gellak n° 128 Château Margaux to design the squares. Do not make more than 4 squares at a time. Cure them for a few seconds before continuing to make the next squares. Finish all the nails the same way. 5. Now add some golden Mosaic Pearls on the 4 nails with the square designs. Lift up a pearl with your ProNails Deco Tool Deluxe. Wet the pearl in ProNails Gellak Shine & Protect and place it in between the squares. 6. On the natural part of the nail: Use ProNails Kolinsky Art Brush n°0 and apply ProNails Gellak n° 23 Chocolat Chips in a curled design. Make sure to create a 3D design on the nail! Cure for 1 minute. The gel must remain sticky! 7. Take your ProNails Nail Foil Solid Gold. Push it on the 3D design and remove it. You will notice that the Pronails Nail Foil Solid Gold will remain on the design. 8. 1. Apply ProNails Unicum Mask on all nails. 2. Take ProNails Gellak n° 125 Buckle Up Brown. Design with ProNails Kolinsky Art Brush n°0 your French Manicure in a perfect oval smile on all of your nails. Fill the French Manicure with the ProNails Graffiti Brush Medium. Apply 2 layers. Cure the first layer entirely for 2 minutes. The second layer only for 30 seconds. It has to remain sticky! 3. Now apply ProNails Solid Gold Nail Foil on this French area and very lightly press it on with a clean brush. Remove the foil gently. Covered parts and uncovered parts will appear. Now apply a Gloss coat of your choice on the entire nail and cure. 4. Make your design. With ProNails Kolinsky Art Brush n°0 and ProNails Gellak n° 124 Waiting For Tonight. Do not cure this layer entirely. It has to remain sticky! 5. Sprinkle ProNails Nail Art Dust over the ProNails Gellak n° 124 Waiting For Tonight, and cure under the UV lamp for 2 minutes. 6.
