Imagine walking into the SURC Ballroom on Valentines Day instead of going out for an expensive dinner. As you step inside, you’re hit with a vibe as strong as lightning; the atmosphere is vibrant and inviting. You feel at ease knowing everyone else here is looking for the same thing; it could be that you find a new best friend or meet someone special. In a crowd of a hundred Wildcats, it is the perfect time to bottle up the nervousness and seize the opportunity to join a speed-friending activity.

Rumor has it that Cupid will be flying around as the special guest. Make sure to ask about the deep, hard-hitting stuff: What's your favorite color? Where did you grow up? What’s your major? Are you team Edward or Jacob? Exchange social media handles and make plans for a second date with your new friends after spending the evening getting to know them.

The V-Day Soiree is the best way to celebrate the day of love. You would be letting Cupid down if you didn’t attend. Relish in the love-themed décor, upbeat music and free snacks that will have you dying for another taste. You will walk out of the ballroom with countless memories, new friends and a satisfied sweet tooth.

So, whether you come alone to explore your odds at speed friending or come with a special person that makes your heart beat like the rain — everyone is welcome! This is the perfect opportunity for Wildcats to come together and celebrate their electric love!

The romcoms and candy will be waiting for you at home, so you can look forward to those as your very own after party. Make some plans, dress to impress and join Campus Activities for this annual event happening Tuesday February 14 at 7 p.m. in the SURC Ballroom. It is free for all CWU students. The V-Day Soiree will feel like lightning in a bottle; you won’t be able to let go once you’ve got it.
