LETTER FROM OUR LEADERSHIP Spring! My favorite time of year with the promise of what's to come... Spring into Summer. Perhaps this year, the transition of Spring into Summer will be more joyous than usual. After a year with hardly any of our dearly loved events, there are signs that some events will be returning to the Plateau this year. In our next issue of Collection, we will post a full calendar of events, but here's what's planned at the time of writing. In conjunction with the Village Green, Landmark is sponsoring the Joy Garden Tour slated for the evening of Friday, July 16 with a full weekend of events (July 17-18). All the details will be available soon so mark your calendars now for this popular event. Other confirmed events: Friday and Saturday outdoor concerts in Highlands are scheduled to start May 22 through October 31 as well as July 4th fireworks and concert. Sapphire Valley is also starting their Concert on the Slopes starting June 29 as well as several arts and crafts festivals throughout the season. One of the recent blogs on our website is entitled "The Pros and Cons of Living in NC" which started me thinking about the pros and cons of living on the Plateau. Other than the winter dragging on a little bit longer than you want it to and longing for those green shoots to start sprouting, there really isn't much to complain about. But in what seems like a matter of just a few days, we're in full green and you wonder how the transition happened so quickly. That's nature for you. There are many small pleasures that nature has to offer such as native flowers, wildlife, including birdsong, the ever-changing weather, the space and network of friends, family and neighbors. Together they account for a big part of why we love living here. The pandemic has allowed me to have staycation time (in addition to keeping me very busy as Landmark wrapped up another banner year in real estate) spending time with my beloved dogs - more about Landmark Dogs in our next issue. What should I bring? Your toothbrushes and personal care items. Landmark Vacation Rentals prides itself on its professional laundry service which provides bed linens and bathroom towels. A starter kit is in the home when you arrive that includes coffee, dish soap, dishwasher pods, a scrubbing sponge, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap.
