A match made in heaven and the perfect way to celebrate the 35th year anniversary of Supercross BMX is with your next pair of Vans. The Supercross BMX x Vans collaboration comes at a perfect time of year as BMX fans begin to look towards the National BMX Hall of Fame, the Grand Nationals, and track banquets where you want to look your best.
The 2025 Rayce line is here! Fly Racing has continually combined tech and art into their kits, and in
2025, the new line of BMX Racing kits gets that same treatment. With Black and Grey for stealth or tie-dye to stand out, each one of these kits brings a vibe perfect for whatever type of riding session you’re looking for. As full kits fly off
the shelves, we’re excited to see the new looks teams around the sport create based off the 2025 line of Fly Racing Rayce kits. Expect to see new looks across the gate as these new kits hit the shelves.
CLIMBING THE LADDER
A National Series regular is on a mission to see the top of the sport. Sawyer Sides from Memphis, TN, has found a new passion inside the world of BMX and it comes from his hunger to win. Fixated on the process, Sides is bringing his track and gym sessions to a new level and the work is showing as he ticks off the little goals that add up to a great BMX Career.

THE ANSWER CHOKEHOLD
The new news from Florida comes to the BMX world looking to grab a Chokehold on the stem market. Made from CNC’d 6061-T6 aluminum, this Answer BMX top load stem brings the Answer reliability, with options for all, to bike shops across the country.
With their smallest, 37mm – 9.2 oz, and largest, 65mm –12.0 oz, keep an eye out for the Chokehold at your next big race weekend.
THE NORTH DAKOTA DEBUT
Traveling up to beautiful Grand Forks, ND, the BMX Family was greeted with a warm welcome throughout the entire town. From the track to downtown, the city and local businesses were all in as the Red River Nationals enjoyed their visit to “The Place of Excellence”.
While the race itself saw smaller numbers compared to the rest of the series, the Northern states came to play and made an action packed race environment with amazing post race memories to ignite the, “When are we coming back,” questions.
Our answer? As soon as possible, but that decision might be a little above the magazine staff’s pay grade.

IT ALL CAME DOWN TO THIS FORTY EIGHT RACERS COMPETING FOR SIX MEDALS AT THE PARIS GAMES.
THE WORLD WATCHED AS SIX NEW OLYMPIC MEDALISTS WERE ADDED TO THE HISTORY BOOKS OF THE THIRTY THIRD OLYMPIAD.
Words by: Justin Wahl | Photos by: SW Pix
he most exhilarating BMX race wowed the crowd under the French roof, and Gold was on the line for two of the 16 racers lined up across the Olympic Final’s gate. With dominating gates throughout the two days of racing, the racers on top of the 2024 Olympic Podiums entered Paris as favorites and left the venue as BMX legends.
MEN’S OLYMPIC FINAL
The man who’s won almost everything completed his trophy case with GOLD. Starting the Olympic final in gate one, Joris Daudet hit the holeshot out of the first turn and used the French crowd’s atmosphere to charge to the finish line as the newest Men’s Olympic Champion. The celebration began, and as Joris turned around to greet the French fans, he found his French Connection teammates with three French flags over the finish line reading 1-2-3.
A full podium sweep brought the Frenchman back onto the track to celebrate what can only be described as a goose-bump-inducing moment. After four Olympic Games and 14 years of chasing his Golden Dream, Joris Daudet is officially a Gold Medalist in BMX Racing, and he did it with his teammates, Sylvain Andre and Romain Mahieu!
WOMEN’S OLYMPIC FINAL
Undefeated through the qualifying rounds and facing seven fast and hungry Women of BMX, Saya Sakakibara was determined to finish on top. Chasing down the kink with clean air around her, Sakakibara led the race from the first straight and didn’t back down until she met her fan club at the end of the finish line run corral.
From almost leaving the sport entirely to winning Olympic Gold at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Saya Sakakibara will be forever remembered as the Aussie who, through it all, kept her eyes on claiming the Olympic dream.
The monstrous first round that brought BMX fans to their TV’s with a little extra excitment floated down the second straight to kick off the Olympic racing for Paris 2024.
ABOVE: The 2020 Olympic Champion, Bethany Shriever, leads into the first turn, winning one of her many laps going into the Women Final.
LEFT: In his Olympic debut, Kam Larsen led some laps ahead of the future Olympic Silver Medalist and the fast cast of racers.

Bringing the sport of BMX Freestyle to its second Olympic Games, the 2024 Paris field of riders saw defending medalists, and Olympic rookies take to the course with all eyes on the thrilling start of Olympic BMX. After the Olympic Qualifier series locked in the names and countries to be represented in Paris, the favorites were spotted, and the crowd surrounding the course reacted in electric fashion.
Through the Women’s competition, China catapulted to the top of the leaderboard as Deng Yawen pulled out every trick from her bag with a first-trick double tailwhip over the box jump, finishing the run with a 92.60 and the 2024 Olympic Gold Medal. Joining Yawen on the Paris podium, Perris Benegas boosted her way to a 90.20, slotting between China’s Yawen and Australia’s Natalya Diehm.
Ready for their chances to take Gold, the Men’s competition lit up right away, with Argentina’s Jose Terres Gil bringing a gold medal run to the broadcast in one go. The pressure was on in the leader spot early as the Brit Kieran Reilly and France’s Anthony JeanJean looked like gold medal contenders. Ultimately, the French rider capped the bottom of the podium, Reilly climbed the opposite side with a silver, and the Argentinian joined Logan Martin in the Gold Medal section of the BMX history books.

COBB COUNTY BMX / JUNE 2024
Words & Photos by: Justin Wahl
It’s a beautiful weekend on the USA BMX National Tour when we get to return to Margieville, USA. In a land of fast racers and fun times, the national stage brings an adrenaline-infused atmosphere ready to ignite the Dixieland Nationals. Coming to sacred land for the three-day race weekend, racers and spectators knew they were in for another action-packed time with Margie Hatfield.
Shifted from the normal May timeslot to the June Father’s Day weekend, the Dixieland Nationals saw an unexpected decline in motos from years prior, but with the same heavy hitters filling the motos, putting quality racing on the headline for the weekend.
Kicking the gate down on her home turf, Alexis Alden, the 2023 National No.1 Amateur Girl found a familiar top spot through the Dixieland Nationals. Double-A taking a double-double via the Women’s Pro/ Am and 17-20x Women’s action reminded us why she rocks the black plate/skinny digit and why a win in Margieville is so coveted. Bringing in the traveling speed to their backyard, track locals fought hard all weekend long to keep the wins local, while racers from across the country fought just as hard to take them away.
The Amateur classes filed into the staging chutes and looked up onto the peak of the starting hill to see a traveling pro readying his race legs along with them. In for the day, Joey Leto got down to business around Cobb County BMX. Showing his competitors in the Men’s Pro/Am classes the fast lane, Leto satisfied his racing itch just enough to keep him ready for the upcoming Pro Series stop.
Watching Leto snap out of the gate ignited the need for speed throughout the three days of racing, which included big battles on the horizon. Boosting above the competition in 7-8 Open, Ace Novy charged to the SYNDYT first turn and came out on the top spot with his name being called at the line for the Friday/Sunday doubles with Luke “Speed Train” Peaper, adding coal to his engine and steaming his way to the Saturday 8x win.
With a change to the Cobb County BMX second straight, racers were forced to overcome and adapt to the new transitions challenging the field. As out of staters tried to find their fast lines, bringing a big battle between Lily Ashley and Camryn Searfoss in 13-14 Girls Cruiser. Ashley jumps on the inside while Searfoss swings outside. The two met in turn two during Saturday’s main event, with Searfoss going low and bumping Ashley over the white line; Diamond Lil found a crack in the door and pushed her way back to the lead with the inside of turn three.
The Rockstars were out in force, especially the new Profile Racing rider Remy “The Rockstar” Sessa, who took home the clean sweep in 9x Girls. While Sessa held it down for the Profile posse, Rockstar/RIFT/ Tangent’s Chris Felker held it down with one hand.
After a crash down the first straight on Friday, the bobblehead brought out the lifting strap to keep his right hand on the bars. Strapped to the bike and determined to take a win away from the stacked class, Felker powered down for an eclectic grit- powered win.
ON THE POINT: From first jump sends to holeshot laps, Ace Novy brought hardware and style points home from Georgia.
RAW RACEFACE: Chasing his spot in the main, James Johnson brought out his race face to help him around Cobb County BMX.
DIXIELAND NATIONALS
CHARLIE’S RACERS: Lily Ashley and Riley Jordan joined forces before their female Pro/Am laps.

“Live timing on the track has elevated my personal training and racing over the years. It provides insight and gives you real time data to track, allowing you to make informed decisions in training and now on race day. Bringing in Sqorz timing to USA BMX events will be both fun and functional for racers to elevate their performance.”

GRAND PRIX BMX / JUNE 2024
Words & Photos by:
Justin Wahl
BAM! Gates Down Right Now: Just a year after the passing of the BMX Legend, Grand Prix welcomes the BMX family to their dirt paradise to experience Titletown and celebrate the legacy that can still be felt around Mike Redman’s World Famous Grand Prix BMX.
As racers rolled into the fairgrounds and took their first look at the track, the hard work could be seen in every corner of the facility. From fresh slurry down the straights, Redman logos greeting racers on top of the bridge, and a Titletown welcome as they hunt for the finish line, the weekend’s racers were ready for the show while we were hearing Redbone’s iconic lines ring through the PA system. The Pro/Am action slammed down the front straight and brought the collection of athletes into a heated pack during each lap. On the Women’s Pro/Am side of the action, the gate was greeted with two of the Rookie pros locking down the top spots on Friday as Ava Corley and Jacy Moore raced to the one-two.
HELLOO: Battles to the line are exciting for the long-haul stretch of the National Series; however, it wouldn’t be BMX racing without some bar-banging in the corners. Giving the Redman pits a frontrow seat for our favorite moment of the weekend, a heated battle for third and fourth came to a head in 41-45x. Justin Leal found the open door on Tim Bostock in turn two, and as the move was about to be locked in, they both found an asphalt sample. In the same split second, Deadset’s Newel Ruggles was coming in hot, looking to become a legend. Bunny hopping the tumbling Tim Bostock at the apex of the turn, Ruggles landed and was met with a new obstacle, his teammate Justin Leal, putting Ruggles from legend to last, having to wait to fight another day. Backing up to the first turn during Saturday’s action, the Rockstar/RIFT/Tangent pit had a front-row
seat of their own to watch their elder Burian launch off track in a scary moment during 14x girls. Battling Montanans, Landon Burian and Addison Thompson, connected bars over the first straight triple, putting Burian into a moto-seat bounce-style eject. Luck was on the National No.4 bike’s side, landing on the turn one tough block and living to fight another day while Addison Thompson charged to the class sweep, taking the win across the 14x Girls weekend.
OKAY RIDERS, RANDOM START: The most iconic phrase throughout the world of BMX Racing and a constant reminder of the impact that Redbone left on the BMX world. Mike Redman’s voice started each race with the cadence, but it was the racers who made him proud with fast laps. In 12x, the Noisy Boy, Michael Hoffman, brought his fast flats to GP BMX, taking wins all weekend ahead of class dominators Manix Smith and Aidan Moody. California kids were on fire, but the northern chill of Canada’s fastest came to cool off some classes. Both Connor Brereton-Stiles, 13x, and Lucas Zhou, 16x, put the maple leaf on the top spot in their respective classes. From National regulars to a returning Olympian, the NorCal fans lined the fenceline to watch Vilma Pelton return to the races, taking home Saturday’s 41-45x Women’s top spot.
And as always:
“The comments of the announcer are not those of the American Bicycle Association. I am a private contractor, which means I can say pretty much whatever I want.” - Mike Redman
WYATT WILLIAMS
Igniting cheers from the fans, Williams showed off his Redman speed through 11x.
IMPACTFUL: The Vegas local has been hunting for his wins all season and in Lake Perris that win came on Sunday for Casshe Hopson.

STOUFFVILLE BMX / JUNE 2024
Words by: Justin Wahl

Traveling through Toronto or crossing the border, the Greater Toronto Nationals bring Canadian and US racers together to battle it out at Stouffville BMX. From the first gate drop to the last, the weekend’s racers seemed determined to give the fence line a show they could talk about for weeks to come. Kicking off the action packed racing, the Girls/Women Cruiser classes ramped up the speeds.
Riley Pootmans in 11-12 Girls Cruiser kicked off her weekend with a win joined by Alex Pasowicz taking home the Saturday/Sunday Cruiser wins. In the 15-16 Girls Cruiser class the weekend was owned by Minnesota’s Alma Stoeckel who went on to battle the ladies in 20”. In between the Camryn Searfoss and Vivienne Ooms battles and the Kady Brink domination, Stoeckel took home the double on Saturday while fellow Minnesotan, Kenadie Neelan, took the Friday/Sunday top spots. The ladies showed the crowd their speed and left it to the boys to keep the action rolling.
Kicking off the day on Saturday, 14 & Over Pro/Am brought the excitment to 110% as Ryan Chabrzynski powered to the win in front of Ryder Cormier and Mathew Brewer. The Pro/Am classes were fast but the racers of 9 Cruiser got the crowd going as Reid Waters elevated the action fending off the charge from Broder Peterson, Alessio Improta, and Carwyn Thomas-Osika. While Chabrrzynski was excited to take home the 10 rider Friday win, it was the 15x class who brought the biggest class of the weekend to Stouffville BMX. Dominated by New Jersey’s Gavin Menditto, the Staystrong ride of Brandon Morrison and New York’s Mathew Barone were hot on his tail keeping him honest through the race day.
Making the journey to the great white North, Chase Reynolds charges out of turn two in 7x.
The fence line was full and ready to cheer on the action as racers from Canada and the US joined forces on the track.
Elijah Henry leads the charge with a whole lot of speed chasing after him in 10x.
GAVIN MENDITTO
Doing it for the Blackcrown crew, Gavin Menditto brought his speed to Stouffville and showed off how far he’s come since his first visit to Canada.
CAMRON PYPER
Making his name know on both sides of the border, Pyper has become a heavy hitter on both bikes for the HRP squad.
Powering to the lead, the big wheel racers kept the front wheel spinning over Stouffville’s table.
Lighting up the USA BMX National tour with their California speed, the Gomolicke siblings are bringing their best to BMX with long careers ahead of them. Meet the Supercross BMX duo putting fast laps and fun times at the forefront of their riding sessions.
How did you start racing BMX?
Gaige: I started racing BMX because I was playing Tball across the street and could see the track as I played. So I went over to it to check it out and liked the way it looked. My mom looked up the name and found out when the next practice was. I took my bike and fell in love with it.
Who helped you at the track when you first started? Gaige: I
didn’t have anyone specific, but there was a group of good older guys. I would watch them and want to try doing the things they did because I thought it was really cool looking.
When was your first National race? Gaige: My first national was the Chico Golden State Nationals. Who do you look up to and why? Gaige: I look up to Bubba Harris because I love his riding style. He wasn’t scared to make moves on people like most pros now, and it made it fun to watch videos of him riding.
What has become your favorite part of BMX racing? Gaige: I look up to Bubba Harris because I loved his riding style and how he wasn’t scared to make moves on people like most pros now. It made it fun to watch videos of him riding.
What is your biggest BMX goal? Gaige: My biggest BMX goal is to make it to the Olympics and get world 1.
As a Factory Supercross BMX squad member, how has Supercross helped you grow as a BMX racer? Gaige: It has helped me enjoy the races more and not be so hard on myself if something doesn’t go right. As long as I try my hardest, Bill doesn’t care how I do. All he wants is me to be having fun, which is fantastic because most teams put a lot of pressure on the riders by having team sheets, so it’s nice not to have that pressure. What are your goals for the end of 2024? Gaige: My goal for the end of this year is to win Grands, get NAG one and top 3 in national, and improve on a big hill.
How did you start racing BMX?
Sequoia: I started racing at Rusty Bowl BMX because my brothers Logan and Gaige raced. I was always at the track and got tired of just singing the national anthem. When I first started, I was on a strider for the first couple of weeks, and my mom and dad would run after me. I hated balance bikes because everyone would be clapping and cheering, and it made me nervous. So, I was off on my peddles by two and a half.
Who helped you at the track when you first started? Sequoia: My family has been on the board at the track, so it was easy to get lots of practice on the track without anybody until I got comfortable. If it were a track night, my brothers would ride next to me to keep other kids from running into me.
When was your first National race? Sequoia: My first national race was Black Jack Nationals in Reno.
Who do you look up to and why?
Sequoia: I look up to Bethany Shriever because she’s a hard worker. She takes the time to take pictures and talk with us younger kids, and she didn’t look annoyed with it. Plus, I like her YouTube videos.
What has become your favorite part of BMX racing? Sequoia: My favorite part of BMX racing is hanging out with my friends and Supercross teammates. I used to like to travel, but now it’s just normal. Oh, and winning. I like to get my triple Scoops. (Thanks, Grindle, for my nickname.) What is your biggest BMX goal? Sequoia:My goal for BMX is to
make the Olympic team and win Gold for the USA. That would be awesome.
As a Factory Supercross BMX squad member, how has Supercross helped you grow as a BMX racer? Sequoia: I am very grateful for Bill and my other sponsors and teammates. They have really put the fun back into racing for me. I am trying to learn that it’s OK not to always win. Bill always texts me in the morning before racing to remind me to just have fun. It takes a lot of extra pressure off of me, so I can just go out and enjoy my ride. What are your goals for the end of 2024? Sequoia: My goal for the end of 2024 is just to do my best while having fun on my bike.

WATERFORD OAKS BMX / JULY 2024
Words & Photos by:

ive decades of racers have rolled up onto the Waterford Oaks gate, and in 2024, a new crop of racers had the chance to experience riding the wave in Waterford, MI.
Returning for the first time since 2014, the local Waterford Oaks volunteer crew put in some serious work to prepare for the weekend. Once tires hit the track, the BMX world was reminded why we love racing in Waterford, MI. While the modern era of BMX is used to all-out speed, fully pinned into each turn, the pro classes and ever-growing amateur speeds were made to bring a little brake lever finesse into the 2024 Stars & Stripes National weekend.
After a busy year of international competition, the Pros of the USA BMX Pro Series brought their race legs back to the small hill, looking to capitalize on some missing names on the moto sheets. The big winner of the weekend throughout the Women Pro class came with a flash and a crack as lightning struck past the Answer Holeshot flags and made the turn down the Waterford last straight. Going into Friday’s final lap of the total points racing, Lexis Colby drew the inside gate while her main competition for the weekend, Payton Ridenour, was out to the fence line. Cranking up and over the first jump and headed to the quick entrance into turn one, Colby and Ridenour lined up in front while the rest of the pack slotted into their battles. Battling for the third spot, Carly Kane and Ava Corley mimicked the race leaders’ inside/outside trajectory. However, through the quick transition, the two connected bars and collapsed their podium hopes right there in the infield of turn one. While Michigan local Elida Beeman avoided the carnage to grab the Day One podium spot, Colby and Ridenour weren’t done battling quite yet. After a first straight exit in round two for Ridenour, the Mongoose ride

would need a win and then some to take the top spot. The Supercross BMX colors kept the speed ramped up and her elbows out through the final two turns, bringing the Phoenix, AZ, local her first Pro career win. Lightning Lex wasn’t finished either; Day Two came with another total point race day and while she slotted into the outside gate, her 30’ time set her up for back-toback wins, leading Olivia Armstrong to the overall third. At the same time, Ridenour battled through the pack to save her second-place spot on the podium.
The Women’s racing electrified the crowd surrounding the wave, and it only got better as the Men’s Pros loaded into the gate to take to the track. With their speed and power slotting them into position halfway down the first straight and some skill and finesse getting them past the first turn, it was no surprise that J-Smooth took the first top spot of the weekend.
Winning the A-Pro racing back in 2014, Jeremy Smith came to Waterford Oaks BMX with another Michigan win on his mind. Taking the top spot early on in the race day, Hyper BMX’s Men Pro kept his smooth laps rolling as he grabbed the Answer Holeshot to Finish line win. Leading Factory Ssquared’s Aussie Jack Davis down the last straight and showing off their high-flying speed to the crowd as they lock in the one-two atop the podium with Corben Sharrah beating out the rookie, Drew Polk for the three spot.
Hungry from his close view of the big step on the podium, Jack Davis lit up Day Two with his Aussie power getting him to the front of the pack down into the first straight. Coming from the outside, Davis charged from gate seven holding a slight edge over Day One’s winnner Jeremy Smith. With a quicker line through the first turn, Jack Davis brought his first win of the season to the line with an added $250 from his boss over at Answer BMX. While he got beat out for the win, the Ohio born Smith didn’t slip off the podium holding onto the second place, leading Rockstar/RIFT/Tangent’s Fede VIllegas.
Have you ever wondered what would happen if a group collectively decided to even the playing field and test their skills at one of the highest levels? Well Josh Smith put the word out at the beginning of the season and the Vet Pros came to honor the agreement, lining up for the Stars & Stripes Nationals with toe gripping speed via their flat pedal snaps. Talking to Barry Nobles during practice on Friday, the Alabama Slamma was having the time of his life sessioning the different sections of

the track especially the last straight, boosting the triple along the fence line any chance he got. Nobles is a dangerous man when he has fun on the track and with a bonus purse put together by Josh Smith and Waterford Oaks BMX, Nobles took to the top step of the podium with a few extra bills added along to it. With the Chase ride on the top step the other dads of the class joined the 2x National Champ for a podium straight out of 2012. Big Jeff Upshaw and The Captain Nic Long traded places from Friday to Saturday, bringing their little ones to the podium and giving the fans a flat pedal show with some fan favorite pros on the top three spots of the weekend.
From the Pros fighting for a pay day, to the Amateurs searching for three of their 10 National scores, one class was electrifying the crowd as they made their turn on the wave. The 12x brought the heat to their Saturday main as Jacob Theisen fought to take the top spot away from the World Champ Andres Andrade after he made the inside move in turn one. While the open door Theisen tried to sneak into closed fast leaving him to fight another day, Noah The Nighttrain Williams saw his opportunity to make his run to the line. From the outside of the dog leg, Factory Fulltilt powered to the top spot with a lunge at the line grabbing his third National win of the season.

Putting her pedal to the medal, Elida Beeman climbed the top of the Flat Pedal Podium with Mila Kelly and Piper Yockelson joining the top 3 in Richmond.
n June 16th, Richmond
BMX hosted its sixth annual Flat Pedal Pro-Am, bringing out some of the biggest and best amateur, pro, and vet pro men and women riders in the country. There’s no question why this event continues to be a fan and rider favorite, growing each year since its start in 2018 and this year awarding over $12,000 in total cash prizes with an equal payout structure for both men’s and women’s events.
This year’s event was marked by intense competition, with many first-timers, including Corben Sharrah and fan favorite Barry Nobles, challenging the returning men’s pros Joey Leto (2022 podium), Jeremy Smith (2022 winner, 4X podium), and KJ Romero (the only 6X flat pedal rid-
er with a 2018 win and 3X podium finishes). With over 30 riders entering, the men’s pro-am was a display of speed and carnage, especially during the qualifying rounds. Local amateur riders Jonathan Smith and Dawsone McDonald, despite their best efforts, were squeezed out of the main event, leaving their fellow local rider Marshall Higgins to represent the home team in the finals. Higgins also took home the Box local amateur award for the men’s event.
The women’s pro-am continues to gain attention since its 2022 premiere, bringing out Elida Beeman, Sam Miller, and Piper Yockelson for their first flat pedal appearances,
along with Mila Kelly, who returns after last year’s podium finish, along with a full rack of local and regional amateurs. And boy, did the ladies bring it this year! With tight racing from start to finish in each round, it was Beeman who took home the big check and the holeshot award sponsored by Alienation.
The men’s main event, much like the qualifying rounds, was action-packed, with Sharrah leading just ahead of Smith and Nobles, who locked elbows around turn one, closely battling for the top three podium spots and ultimately finishing in that order.
Here’s what Barry Nobles had to say about the event:
“This race was one that reminded me why we all ride BMX. Good family vibes off the track, everyone was stoked to just ride, and no big pressures for a result. Just a fun weekend of friends and BMX.”
Richmond BMX would like to thank the many sponsors of this year’s Flat Pedal Pro-Am: Pedaling Innovations, Mongoose, Box, Ryno Power, Alienation, Powers Bike Shop, and RADshare, as well as the staff and crew for their hard work leading up to and throughout the event. Coming next for Richmond BMX: The Duel of the Decades Old School Open, taking place on Sunday, November 3rd. And you’re hearing about it here first: this year’s event will include appearances by Bill Allen (Cru Jones from the movie RAD) and Radical Rick creator Damian Fulton. Fans of the old school won’t want to miss this one.

RAD CANYON BMX / JULY 2024
Words & Photos by:
Justin Wahl
warm welcome back to Rad Canyon BMX excited us for racing in the “State of Sport.” However, the weekend quickly went from warm to red HOT as racers from across the nation converged on the Great Salt Lake Nationals. Straight from the balance bike battles around the back straight to the 56 & over legend laps, there is a LOT to talk about from West Jordan, Utah.
As the track crew kept the dust down, the speeds were unleashed on the first corner with packs of riders searching for clean air or risking a trip into the danger zone between the second and third straights. Carving hard and tucking into the top side pocket, Anthony Agraan stayed strong and set himself up for the inside move to take over the lead in 11 Cruiser, although Chase Harp’s speed couldn’t be denied, taking a pair of wins back to Los Alamitos, CA. The 14x class came with some extra oomph to take advantage of a Passanisi-free main. Two racers, who tried to take advantage of a National giant missing from their Friday main, came in a little too hard, ending their race day in the soft stuff. Tyler Wagoner and Colton Kidd met at the apron of turn one, locked elbows, and couldn’t unhook before finding the asphalt edge to turn one. With a quick dust-off and a check on each other, the two were ready to saddle up for the rest of the weekend.
That fear of going up and over wasn’t a problem for Tatumn Huffman as she started and finished her weekend at Rad Canyon BMX in the top
INSIDE LINE: The World Champ was on the charge around Rad Canyon, finding the inside line for the Zeronine team sheet.
ANIMALISTIC: Apart from a crash leaving him out of the Friday main, Hayden Passanisi was on fire once again, showing 14x who’s the top dog.
ANOTHER STEP CLOSER: Eliza Porter takes the front side lead down the second straight adding to her hunt for yet another N.A.G. plate for her career.
spot. She was taking home her first win in the 15-16 class and a whole six-pack in her class and cruiser racing, sparking some love from the USA BMX social. Joining Huffman in the “catch our eye” category, Aidan Ragle brought his high-flying speed to his summer RV tour and the 15x class, putting the Factory Ssquared logo on display out front.
Back to the Girls Club action for Saturday’s battles, 17-20x Women found some bumping bars to a show of skills from the LRC Mongoose ride of Savanna Stokes. Getting the outside push from Bio Lab’s Kate Sifford, Stokes stuck the inside line into the lead with a fast second and third straight to lock in the 12-rider win in the class.
As a track with a long history of National events rolling into town, the significant events bring out the local legends throwing their hat in the ring, or rather, their hat on their belt loop. TP Todd Parry brought his speed back to the track for the World Championships, but the BMX bug bit him once again as he came to the Great Salt Lake ready to take six wins back to Eagle Mountain.
With a few new features to the track, friendly faces greeting you at the snack shed, and plenty of fun in the RV lot after the racing action, our return to Rad Canyon BMX was as RAD as ever.
Stay RAD Rad Canyon.

ROCKFORD BMX / JULY 2024
Words & Photos by:
Justin Wahl
Cranking off 14 pedals into one of the most distinct riding positions throughout the BMX photo albums, The Rock was primed and ready for 2024’s Midwest Nationals action. Shifted from its regular time slot over Father’s Day weekend, the BMX Community couldn’t miss out on the summer tradition of hunting for national wins around Rockford BMX. With only a few changes to the track since our 2023 visit, National racers were ready to make the most of familiar territory.
Taking to the drop with Bermzilla looming in the distance, the Pro/Am classes kicked the weekend into Fulltilt as Olivia Armstrong and Sean Day charged through the Friday Pro/Am. Drew Polk was hot on Day’s trail and backed it up with a win of his own on Day Two as Olivia stayed on the top side. A racer that caught our eye throughout the class was Maryland’s own Jonnie Vance. Grabbing a little bad luck out of the gate in the mains, Vance was rocking on the top spot all day long with some impressive first straights to thank.
All-out sprints are a common theme throughout the Rockford BMX racing and 13x Girl’s Kendall Ehlen was a perfect example. Ahead by a tire at the 30 foot and over a bike length at the drop, Minnesota’s Kickstart Ehlen laid down the commanding lead throughout the weekend, locking in a three-pack to take home from Illinois. A couple of classes later, the 15-16x Girls’ battle between Sadie Herrera and Lola Jonjevic showcased the beauty of Bermzilla. Stuck to Herrera’s outside over the first straight triple, Jonjevic tucked behind the Fulltilt ride’s back tire and found the X-pass move, shutting the door up tight down the second straight. Sadie Herrera came out on top over the weekend, but Powerlite/DFR’s Jonjevic took home the Saturday win with a bonus move of the weekend nod.
Racing into the Expert Boys classes, the action shifted from the front
straight to the back straight as sprints to the finish line tested Jen Morris’ scoring eye. Saturday’s 13x dash to the line came as close as it gets, with Lucas Theisen reeling in the class dominator, Eli Staton. Waiting in anticipation for the photo finish to be called, the two shared a fist bump and a good job after Theisen snuck one away from the Fulltilt ride. More last straight action excited the crowd in 16x, where Nathan Anderson and Samuel Marulanda fought it out. Both were charging down the slight bend down the last straight, and Ander son wasn’t giving Marulanda any open room as they hit the lip of the final table. Getting pushed off track before the marked start of the last straight rule, Marulanda would have to settle for second.
It was dominating win after dominating win; however, Coach Domingos Lammoglia snuck one away in 51-55x, showing his athletes the benefits of pedaling to the line and saving his sweep of the class.
As Mark Melton showed off his hometown lines and capped off another successful weekend in Rockford, the BMX family is ready to return in 2025 for the Father’s Day time slot and more action at THE ROCK
PACKED IN: 14x bunched up into the pack right away through the weekend but it was hard to find a lap where Simon Duran wasn’t leading on the point.

It is always such a different experience when you go to a “local” national, that is what the New England Nationals was for me.
Trumbull is not really a local track, since it is two hours away, but our home track is over an hour away, so it still feels that way. The local national feels different because you go there for local races with only a handful of motos and see all of the same people each time, and the tracks are a little less exciting like that. When the big red truck pulls in, it completely changes the whole atmosphere of the track, changing in a way that you see all of the other local riders there that you may not get to see when you travel for a national race because they do not travel. And the track you see, week after week, gets enhanced for the big weekend with all of the signage and team tents.
After the balance bikes finished we went right into the Pro-Am Open motos and they set the excitement bar pretty high for the weekend. The Female Pro-Am Open winner was Landon Burian for both days, on Day One Devin Murphy finished second and Victoria Dube in third. Day Two, Camryn Searfoss beat Devin Murphy and took second leaving Murphy in third
Brecken Chadwick won all three days in 6 Girls Expert. In 8 Girls Expert Kira Spence and Alannah Ternahan raced about as close as you can all weekend, they crossed the line at almost the same time every moto. Kira Spence won on Friday, but Alannah Ternahan won on Saturday and Sunday. McKenzie Davis, Sahra Urena and Cali Kopetskie
out of turn
SHARK SIGHTING: Pro/Am racing brought fast cats together once again and the BMX Shark was waiting in the water ready to strike.
GETTING WILD: Wild Wes Hicks took the point through 8x coming up with a weekend full of podiums in
won all three days in 9 through 11 Expert respectively. All of the rest of the Girls Club riders won all three days, that includes Avery Jones in 15-16 Girls Expert, Emma Martin in 17-20 Women Expert, Devin Murphy in 21-30 Women Expert, Brandy Haislet in 41-50 Women Expert and Susie Levan in 51 & Over Women Expert.
On Friday in 12 Expert Noah Williams took the early lead and while Marshall Warner was battling with Andres Andrade, Williams was able to win, but on Saturday and Sunday Andres Andrade won. Thirteen Expert had a different winner all three days, Brayden Goris won on Friday, Espen Wilke on Saturday and Patrick Martinez on Sunday. Evan Douglass won all three days in 14 Expert. Fifteen Expert also had a different winner each day, Gavin Menditto on Friday, Mathew Barone on Saturday and RJ Crawford on Sunday. Kendal Wong won on both Friday and Sunday in 21-25 Expert, Friday he bumped the front tire of the second place rider and the whole rack fell behind him giving him an easy victory. On Saturday Ronan Weber and Austin Peebles bounced off each other on the first straight, knocking Wong off the track, and they fought all the way to the finish line, ultimately Weber won.

Buliding their legacy while honoring one of the biggest, the Tribe debuted some new faces and new kits at the Mike Redman Nationals. With a long his-
tory in the sport of BMX, the team’s focused on looking cool, bringing titles back to title town, and having fun on two wheels. The team showed off those three goals on their hometurf putting the Redman
logo into the ODI Style Check, in the winner’s circle past the finish line, and in the front row of the Saturday night band. Reigniting the Redman frame to the masses, we are excited to see where this crew

KAMLOOPS BMX / JUNE 2024
Words by: Kevin O’Brien
Photos by: Makayla Brosius
As one of the first tracks established in Canada, BMX has deep roots in ‘Loops’. Racing started as early as 1980 just a couple of miles away from current location of their track and many of the former legends still live in the area.
Held on Canada Day weekend, this was the second stop in the Canadian National Series and when all the dust settled, the National standings would look very different. Only Tiffany Brosius in 20” would leave with her lead intact.
There were several World plates in attendance including Logan Lee (W3) and Elle Foo-Donais (W4) who did battle in the 12 Girls Expert Class. Foo-Donais came in leading the NAG points chase but Lee would win all three days and then double her win count taking three more wins in open class. Expect either of the two to challenge Brosius for the overall title in October.
Alberta is home to a growing number of top female riders which can be linked to the legacy of Olympian, Samantha Cools’ who was arguably the most decorated Canadian rider in her era. ‘Crazy’ Daisy Kettle is one of them and the Calgarian stomped the 15-16 Girls class, upstaging Payton Duffy in the works. Kettle would then take a pair of seconds in the Female Pro-Am class tucking in behind series leader Keira Murphy of BC.
Alberta would lay claim to the Men’s Pro-Am class with Max Ganakovsky taking big wins both days ahead of Lucas Zhou and Taylor Otterson. The DB Factory rider didn’t lose a lap all weekend and is emerging as a major threat in the class.
Vancouver Island is always a hotbed for up n’ coming riders and Jaxon Woods is a prime example. With a National in his backyard in early September, Woods had something to prove and dusted the 11 Ex’ers all three days, and found himself leading the NAG standings in the process. Only Cohen Purnell of Kelowna would come close in three tries.
The series now heads to Langley for the Borderline Nationals on BC Day weekend. Expect this race to be one of the bigger ones. The weekend also includes the first-ever Canadian BMX Hall of Fame event where the country finally gets to celebrate their history.
TOP: Jake Cerney came up with two big wins on the weekend, thanks in part to his fast third straight.
BOTTOM: Leonardo Leavy brings the flat pedal power to 12x leaving a dust cloud behind his back tire.
DACONO BMX
Dacono BMX is located north of Denver in the small town of Dacono, Colorado. The track opened in the early 2000’s and hosted the Mile High Nationals in 2015. Throughout the years, Dacono BMX has hosted numerous Gold Cup Qualifiers and State Finals. Recently, the track was awarded the State Final race in both 2023 and 2024.
Over the last two years, the track has undergone several improvements including a Contes safety gate, Pro Start ram and light system, a new starting hill and various other improvements. This is all due to the faithful local riders and their families who step in and step up to give time and labor endlessly!
Over the years, many notorious riders have graced the dirt of Dacono BMX. Former Olympian David Herman and Pros Deak Brown and Kenny Gustafson, to name a few. The track has countless NAG, ROC and World Cup riders both past and present that show up often to show off their rad skills. Paula Maresh, Jill McGuire, Susie Levan are some of the country’s top riders and are Dacono loyals as well!
Greats such as Nic Long, Connor Fields, Olivia Armstrong and Tanner Sebesta have recently hosted
successful clinics to further the skills and education of young riders.
Our tireless track operators consist of a team of multiple families who share the same passion for the sport. Through many hours of time and hard work, Wyatt Ball and Chris Wooten have taken on the title role of track operator, however, they could not run successful clinics, practices and races without the help of the dedicated families that surround them, especially the Martinez, Wagner and Adrian families, and many more! These current track operators have hosted several beginner race leagues to bring the sport to the forefront of the community. In the last year, Dacono BMX has registered upwards of 100+ new riders through the enthusiasm and education that they provide to the community. The TOs and their families have also worked to recruit young riders at local pump tracks and jumps around the community, bringing new ridership to the sport and track.
It is the hope of Wyatt, Chris and the entire Dacono BMX team that the track can continue to progress in the future as it has over the last few years!
LANGLEY BMX / AUGUST 2024

From outer U to inner U, the racers of the weekend were gunning for the top spot while the fans in the stands were gunning for the fun times. Racing doiwn the front straight, the inside white line was the key to a succsesful lap.
That inside line advantage was shown by the ladies racing where Kylin Weitz and Halle Stocks went bar to bar infront of the second straight crowd. Taking the inside in all three corners, Weitz brought her Cycle Therapy colors to the top of the podium on Sunday after watching the Syndyt/LSG Yellow climb the podium on the first two days of racing.
The Yellow kit was back to the top spot for 14x girls with Katlyn Cole leading Kymberlee Porter, Merissa Brown, and Payton Sarabia to the finish line during the class’s final main event. Seeing the fast lap ahead of her Tiffany Brosius straped up her clip shoes and broke out the broom at Langley BMX going 1-1-1 in 15-16x girls. The Factory Motofill is racking up the wins in 2024 and making her run for the Cup once again. Joining Brosius in the title chase is 51& Over’s Jennifer Bitz who has her eyes set on the N.A.G. No.1 for her class. Seen racing down in the states and up North in Canada, Bitz is on the charge and grabbing wins left and right.
The title hopes are equally as present on the guys side of the series bringing past champions to the Borderline Nationals. 2022 CNAT No.1 Lucas Zhou brought his Surrey speed to Langley and left with a used broom after sweeping the 16x field. Looking back on the race weekend more than a few racers left the weekend with a clean sweep however the 17-20x class sweep by Joshua Trerise might be the most impressive. Missing from the National action on both sides of the border, Trerise reminded the class of his speed and skill while powereing down the first straight. Leaving his mark on the weekend, could this be the start of his last hurrah in the amateur ranks? only time will tell as the season ramps up into the final few months.
Seeing Daylight through the weekend, CNAT 1 was on top and making up for missed time.
Cameraman spotted. Collins Clarke has an eye for the lens even during her fast 10x Girls racing.
Ready to bump ‘bows the 14x girls class means business down the first straight.
Bouncing back and forth through US and Canadian race weekends, Zach Frier is ready to show his speed all the way to the Canadian Grands.
Getting more and more comfortable in 15x Jake Cerney is quickly become the one to beat across Canada.
RACE FOR LIFE
Help raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
USA BMX and BMX Canada are among the top fundraisers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Each year, riders gather donations and raise funds for this worthwhile cause. The Race For Life Series was started in 1981 to help a fellow BMXer diagnosed with leukemia.
Please visit USABMXRFL.org to get started earning these fine prizes from BOX Components and SYNDYT.
Each year, every USA BMX track holds a “Race For Life”, with all proceeds going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
NEPEAN BMX / AUGUST 2024

Fuga. The Capital City Nationals at Nepean BMX in Ottawa saw a great weekend of racing and 50/50 mix of Canadians and US riders in attendance. These races are always a good time for US riders as the exchange rate is favorable and the size of the race gives you plenty of time to explore what the area has to offer. For the Canadian riders, they get to test their skills against some of the top USA BMX riders on their home turf - it is a win-win.
Local 17-20 Expert rider Jakob Kaiser would triple on the weekend for Factory Syndyt/LSG, powering them to Title Team wins on Saturday and Sunday. Sayona Godin would win 15-16 Girls Expert on Friday and Saturday, to go along with a podium in the Female Pro-Am on Sunday. Longtime BMXer Greg Bidwell had some epic battles all weekend long in class and cruiser, but parked it in victory lane in the 41-45 Expert class on Sunday for On Red Racing. Quebec rider Audrey Bertrand had some battles with Factory Rift Tangent rider Chase Burian on both Saturday and Sunday. Chase would win Saturday, but Audrey would top the podium on Sunday in 14 Girls Expert (and both of them are 13 years old).
The local track was certainly impressed with how far some of the riders travelled to get to that race. CNAT #9 rider Nicolai Martinez found himself on the eastern side of Canada, despite a race happening in his home province of BC. Nicolai had some great battles in 15 Expert with Matt Barone (on Friday at least, until Barone crashed going for the pass - ending his weekend) and Gavin Menditto. The DB Factory rider from Victoria, BC, would win Friday and Saturday, while Factory Blackcrown’s Menditto would best him on Sunday.
Arizona was well-represented in the Pro Am classes, with Factory Rift Tangent rider Landon Burian winning the Female Pro Am on Sunday and BioLab/Box rider CJ Cariaso winning the Men’s Pro Am on Saturday. Kendall Wong and Connor Beckley would show up and show out representing Bradenton, Florida, for AllTow Wrecking Crew/PKS and Profile, respectively. Kendall winning 21-25 Expert two days and Connor winning 11 Cruiser two days. And finally, Waxahachie, Texas, rider Rob Drolet made the most of his trip by winning 51-55 Expert and Cruiser all three days for Regulators/Gunslinger.
The Nepean BMX team did a fantastic job hosting another top-notch event and their track continues to improve every time we go back. If you’ve never been to a BMX Canada race, do yourself a favor and put it on the calendar for next year. With quality tracks, great prize baskets to win and a smaller race that gives you time to explore the Capital Cityyou’ll thank us later for the recommendation.
Myles Schaubel #30 for Sam’s Bike Shop and Jayden Kelly #4 for HV Racing battling into the second turn in the hotly contested 16 Expert class.
Looks like the 9 Expert class rocketing down the first straight at the Capital City Nationals. The NAG #11 on the inside looks to be Alessio Improta from New York. Alessio would bring home a trio of second place finishes Power FX/Speedco - boosting himself to NAG 7 in the rankings.
Mens Cruiser getting some hot laps in during practice. The W6 of Brendan Looby for C-YAA, the Gold Cup #1 of Dylan Maghan for Chip N Dale, the NAG 8 of AJ Amico for TNT Bicycles and the NAG #9 of Max Marshall for Answer Factory putting down the power.
Walker Babe #47 and Noah Peck #24 charge down the first straightaway in the 10 Expert class.
David Murchison (aka “Mav”) takes to the air in the 41-45 Expert class. Mav would put it in the big dance on Saturday and Sunday, picking up a second place finish on Sunday.
CARWYN THOMAS
piloting the CNAG #1 Daylight bike for Gold Coast/Daylight en route to a podium finish in 11 Cruiser.
NOTE: This track directory is as of AUGUST 2024 - and subject to change. Always call your track or check their website and/or USABMX.com before going to the track.

RED RIVER BMX / AUGUST 2024
Words & Photos by:
Justin Wahl
National BMX racing made it’s debut up north as the Red River Nationals made it’s way to Red River BMX in the quaint Grand Forks, ND. A town tucked next to the North Dakota-Minnesota border, Grand Forks rolled out the red carpet for everyone attending the weekend with the American flag flying high behind the final turns, a helicopter flyover, and a visit from the Mayor to kick off the weekend; we were excited to see the battles laid down around the Red River Nationals.
Minnesota showed up in a big way through the weekend, in town from just over the border, lining up with the familiar faces of North Dakota BMX. Finding themselves lined up at state and regional events, it was time to battle on the National level on home soil. The leading man, Aiden Schizzano, held it down for his hometown racers as he chased down the Californian, Maddux Vicario, for the cruiser and class wins all the way up until Vicario locked in a win of his own to cap off the weekend.
At the start of the weekend, we noticed the significant presence from the BMX powerhouse state of Minnesota, and that presence was felt in the 15-16 Girls Cruiser racing as all three main events were swept by MN’s Alma Stoeckel, Bella White, and Marlie Rietschel battling bar-to-bar-to-bar to the line, each taking home a win from Grand Forks. The same state speed kept charging on the top spot in the lady’s cruiser classes as 65 & Over saw Texas come into town with Kim Fischer, Patty Bergstrom, and Adrianne ChangFields. One thousand plus miles away from home, the three ladies showed the crowd how Texas gets down on the BMX Track. From
Minnesota and Texas over to Wisconsin, Mya Poters took hold of the weekend in 17-20x. Even when she drew the outside gate for Saturday’s Main Event, the Junction City local showed her speed into and out of turn one. The northern states weren’t the only racers ripping up the inaugural Red River weekend. The Canadian champ, Jhett Hickey, is on the return run, going headto-head against Jacob Theisen in both class and cruiser. The Minnesota ride of Theisen got one over on Daylight’s Canadian, but Hickey came with some extra booster the rest of the weekend, putting down the fast laps for a few more wins to his career total.
As the older expert classes ticked away across the webcast, the speed gradually ramped up into our final race of their weekend. That final race is where the flat pedal warrior, Frank Nuccio, made the most of his last-minute 10hour drive, taking home two wins before saddling back into the car and saying goodbye to a fabulous weekend at Red River BMX.
As we said goodbye and thank you to the Red River BMX volunteers, the excitment and eagerness for more could be seen making us beleive this won’t be the last time we stop in Grand Forks BMX.
FLYING SPIDER:
Cooper Kedrowski took his Black Widow jersey to the sky while leading his 15x moto.
TOO FAST:
Silvia Palomaki’s speed couldn’t be contained as she fought for the win with Annabella Anderson.

Dear Gabi,
Membership Reminders
August is here and this means five (5) key things for the membership department:
1. No district transfers after August 1.
2. August marks the beginning of the finals for the State/ Provincial Series.
3. Preparation for Gold Cup Finals.
4. Cutoff for single point races for an alternate ROC qualification is Sept 15.
5. ROC invites are sent via email…make sure that we have a good email address for you on your membership record!!! Here are a few reminders that will make the next two months less stressful:
• The State/Provincial Pre-Race does NOT count as a qualifier.
• Bonus points have already been added into your score prior to your final.
• The points for the State/Provincial final are tripled.
• Novice and Intermediate riders are plated together.
• The website shows the riders age at their respective State/ Provincial Final.
• Gold Cup bonus points cutoff was August 15.
• The website shows the riders age at their respective Gold Cup Final.
• Remember to qualify for a Gold Cup Award, you need two (2) qualifiers in the same region as the Gold Cup Final.
• As an alternate way to qualify for ROC, you must have completed eight (8) single point races by September 15, and you cannot count class and cruiser together. If the races dated August 1 or prior were done in your state, you will earn points that will count towards your state total.
