Alexis Alden charges out of Cobb County BMX’s first turn during the Female Pro/ Am at the 2024 Dixieland Nationals.
Like so many others, Alexis Alden’s BMX journey started with a family outing to the BMX track to try out the sport, which became a passion that has continued for over a decade. When she first tried out BMX racing, she just wanted to keep up with her brother John. In today’s world of BMX racing, Alexis Alden is one of the fastest amateurs on the track.
Starting her journey at Whittier Narrows BMX in LA County, Alden has come a long way since her first time touching tires to dirt. As the 2023 national number one amateur girl, she has put herself on the map throughout the BMX world with her speed and off-track persona, giving back to the community she grew up in. Say hello to Double-A, the rising star from a California grom to a household name.
When talking to Alexis Alden, it’s clear that she knows she’s fortunate for the life she lives. She started the sport of BMX racing at six years old when her brother John and her dad, Big John, took her to the track. She started racing BMX when she saw her brother becoming obsessed, and from that day at Whittier Narrows BMX, she began her journey, met one of her lifelong friends, Keiley Shea, and took the steps that many of you reading this have also taken.
Getting her bearings in the sport as a novice in 2013 and progressing to the next proficiency level, where she made the jump to regional and national levels, Alexis had plenty of role models to look up to at the track.
“Joris Daudet would come out to Whittier Narrows, and he was so nice, he would ride the track. I had Shane Harlow, Dick Cheeseburger, and Courtney Tomei. Those are the people that we looked up to. We also had Danny George at the time. George was a good person that I looked up to for the majority of my riding at Whittier.”
Often, a BMX racer’s ability to win
comes from those around them. With a local program at Whittier that combined a fun atmosphere with some of the fastest speeds worldwide, Alexis Alden soon contributed to that winning atmosphere. Earning her first win at the Cajun nationals in 2016, we can follow her career with her wins.
Securing eight wins in the 2016 season, the Alden family begin their travels throughout the country. With more and more success, young Alden enjoyed her time traveling to new places and riding her bike at new facilities. With winning comes added pressure for some, but Alexis Alden looks back on that time and remembers the people around her having the most significant impact on her outlook toward racing.
“I think the people really made you stay, and especially when you’re young and going to travel, it’s an, ‘I get to go to this new state. That’s super cool.’ And I think that kept me more interested in BMXs, my friends, and riding new tracks I’ve never ridden before.”
The Alexis Alden of today has a similar outlook on staying grounded with her success but in the reverse perspective.
“I really like, giving back in the sense that I see, especially my teammates, I see a lot of young riders where I was, and I enjoy mentoring younger riders and giving them what I had when I was younger or giving them more than what I had. But I was pretty fortunate when I was younger, but I really like helping younger riders, and I feel like that motivates me more to keep doing what I enjoy.”
Becoming a role model for the younger generation following her, Alden looks towards her heroes when filling those role model shoes. As the younger sibling in her family, Alexis looked towards her older brother, John Alden. It was through
his work ethic, determination, and attitude toward the athletic side of the sport that Alexis pulls her motivation from.
“I really look up to my brother John. H e’s inspired me in so many ways. He goes to college now, so he doesn’t really ride with me anymore, but he helps me get motivated because I’ve seen everything he’s gone through and all he has faced. Him being my brother and having him through this sport, even though he didn’t enjoy racing as much. Seeing him ride and wanting to be, that is just someone I really look up to.”
watching her brother through the sport and into his new college chapter, Alexis also plans to further her education. As a senior in high school, Alden learned to balance her BMX and school, where she became interested in pursuing Chemistry as a Major after high school. That BMX-school balance can get tricky when traveling to races across the country, but coming home from Thanksgiving break with a National No.1 Title opened her classmates’ and teachers’ eyes to BMX racing.
Throughout the 2024 season, Alden
has come to love and respect running the National No.1 plate. She sees it as a reminder of her accomplishment and as a source of motivation to earn another one. Seeing a reminder of an entire year’s worth of training and racing ignites that inner spark every time she gets on her bike. While Alden has God-given talent that helps her on the track, she also has a support system that guides her to success. “I like to take it a race at a time. It’s really good to visualize your race mentally, and I like to visualize it as just me and the gate. It’s just me racing myself, and there are other opponents, but it’s just me and my race, and really keeping my mind clear of that really helps me focus and not get too nervous”…. ”That’s what my coach Brandon and my dad tell me and have been telling me, it’s just you and the gate.”
On the day of her title-winning lap, Alden ran through that thought process once again, leading to the 15-16x Girls main event on Sunday night.
“Honestly, I was in another mental. I’m not saying no thoughts were going on, but I had to be confident within myself and Jesus. I know that he’s given me talent, and I just had to play it through and literally trust the process. I think that was the main reason I wasn’t nervous because it was, ‘Okay, it’s just any other race. It’s my race, my gate. I gotta get out and don’t change a thing,’ and that’s all I did.’
From a Title contender to a Title winner, Double A has been seen through the 2024 season taking the jump into the Junior Women’s ranks. Getting her big hill confidence up to par with a new class and taking her racing skills up to the Championship level, Alden looks forward to next season and beyond.
“I raced a few UCI races here in America, and they went pretty
good. I made my first ever UCI Junior Main, too. I ended up getting seventh, but that’s still great, I made it in there, which is pretty good. But I definitely want to do my second-year Junior, and depending on how I feel, I might want to hit some World Cups. I have to figure that out, but that would be really cool if I can at least do one.”
With a jump into the Junior class and getting her feet wet in the international side of the sport, the looming question is when will the Women Pro class see Double-A join their ranks?
“I’m still deciding. I definitely want to go Pro within the next year and a half or so. I definitely would rather do it sooner than later.” … “I want to become a professional BMX racer, and I’d say my biggest goal is to make the 2028 LA Olympics. That’s probably my biggest goal that I’m going to reach for. After that, whatever happens happens, but I’d say Olympics is a dream that I definitely want to see and live out.”
Talent and bike skill aside, Double
A Alexis Alden has the work ethic and determination to become a major player in the world of BMX. We have already seen her go from the California grom to the titlewinning teen. Now, we watch along with many of you as she leaps into some of the most pivotal years of her future BMX career. With each race being only her and the gate, we foresee many more fast laps from the Georgian who will keep that young girl from Whittier Narrows BMX by her side for years to come.
“Thank you to my sponsors for supporting me. Thanks to my brother, and thank you, God for giving me this opportunity.”
Becoming the Georgia Giant on the USA BMX National Series, the Dixieland Nationals has become the place where Double-A shows off her speed.

he excitement was growing for the 2024 Buckeye Nationals. With a State Qualifier just a few weeks prior, Ohio’s racers had their race legs primed to take on the traveling competition. A relatively new track on the scene, the National Tour came into Marysville, OH, with hesitant excitement as the track’s traceability was still a mystery. Once the practice laps concluded and fast race laps began, the raceability was clear: Marysville BMX is a race track.
Walking into the facility, race fans were immediately greeted by the picturesque track and surroundings. With its U-in-a-U layout featuring wide-open first and second straights leading into an elbow-to-elbow third and fourth, the track brought multiple lines together for an exciting last-turn, last-straight showdown throughout the weekend. As the weekend developed, the confidence grew, bringing an abundance of battles to the 2024 Buckeye Nationals.
Kicking off the weekend’s competition, the Pro/Am classes took to the track with some cash and fun battles fueling their race efforts. The lead for the ladies had Floridian speed on the point as Avery Jones took home the cash for both total point wins adding to her weekend win total with 15-16x Girls wins throughout the weekend. As the Men’s Pro/Am loaded into the gate and stared down the drag strip ahead, the fans were greeted with some of the fastest names in the region.
From the early Friday rounds the two pros, Drew Polk and Jonnie Vance, were seen as the two to beat, however, South Park BMX speed had something to say about it as Gavin Stazetski and Tommy Bruney laid down fast laps leading into their day one main event. Carnage for some, with a few getting out clean to the downhill second straight, Drew Polk looked for his place to make the move on the leader, Gavin Stazetski. That chance came with a crowd electrifying turn two where Polk did Polk things, starting wide, swinging low, and shutting down Stazetski’s line. The two continued to the line, joined on the podium by Redman’s Dyllon Reeder..
Bringing the action around the track one after another, the crowd’s energy overflowed as racers entered the last turn and made their run towards the finish line. In 7x that energy came from a new face on the national circuit, Walker Watson from Dover, OH. In his first appearance on the USA BMX National Series, Walker charged his way to the Saturday win with a stretch at the line. While they raced hard, fist bumps in the finishline runout were had along with a family celebration in Marysville. The sportsmanship between the BMX Family was seen in the runout and on top of the hill.
Random mechanicals happen, and when they do, panic can start to set in. With a tire blow just minutes before his main event dropped its gate, Gavin Smith looked for a solution. That solution came from Max Meinels bike two gates behind him. Mad Max’s NAG No.5 TNT did the trick as Smith charged to the loaner bike win in 10 Cruiser followed by a rare two-win day for the TNT
THE KID: All Tow Wrecking Crew’s young gun, Marshall Warner, is a fan favorite across the National Series, thanks to his bike skills ans style.
THE CALM: Electric racing all weekend long came from the 17-20x lineup as Marshall Gehrke and Gavin Menditto stealing the wins away from Gavin Stazetski.
cruiser. Meinel grabbed a win of his own in 12 Cruiser on top of his top notch sportsmanship win. From two wins from the same bike to multiple wins in the same family, Ohio’s National weekend brought an Upper Peninsula power household, as the Palomaki’s family came to play around Marysville. Stella and Silvia Palomaki were seen at the top few spots of their classes taking the Friday cruiser wins with a double from the younger of the two with Stella winning the 8 Girls Cruiser and 8x Girls going on to battle hard all weekend long.
The battles for the Buckeye National wins kept coming as the gates dropped. Sunday’s 51-55 Cruiser saw three wide in and out of the last turn with bars banging all the was to the stripe. In 17-20x the battles came from the Major Marshall Gehrke and E-Pop Ethan
CHARGIN’: Stacked across the first jump, Sierra Samhammer and the 17-20x Ladies had their eyes on the lead down the first straight.

LIFESTYLE
On and off the bike: the style of BMX has been evolving since the beginning of the sport. From immulating the moto heros of the past to keeping up with current styles and fads, the style of racers is what makes and evolves BMX. Take a look at some of the styles the racers across the sport are bringing to the track and social media.
Top Left: Molly Simpson brings her speed to the track but also her style with the black splatter Fox kit.
Top Right: Baggy is back and Jack Davis is a perfect example each time he rolls up to the track. With a casual oversized style, Davis leaves the tight fit for the race kit, staying comfortable in his race morning prep.
Bottom Left: Walking in to win, Saya Sakakibara showed off her pre-race style at the Tulsa World Cup. While Red Bull logos might be a style cheet code, its the effortless accesories that speak the loudest.
The man from Japan. Asuma Nakai has brought his style to BMX since the early days of his career. Taking from his time in traveling the world to mold his style, Nakai’s creative side shines, making himself an all around style guide. From his social media featuing streetwear style content to his pre and post race fits, Asuma’s off track style seeps into his riding. Going for the lines not ridden and testing the limit allows him to find that new gear and look good doing it.
WITH THE ALABAMA-SLAMMA
First: Practice tucking the bars into your lap and finding a comfortable and consistent spot without taking your hands off.
Second: Once this feels consistently locked into place and where you could control the bike with your hips, then slowly work on taking off your hands.
Third: Keep your chest over the bars so your weight is always going forward towards the landing. No one like to snap a big tuck no only to loop out on the landing.
2023’s ODI Style King, Louis Kaminski, knows how to throwdown on two wheels. From the track, to the trails, to the local park, Kaminski brings his riders-rider style everywhere he goes. His Style doesn’t stop with him. Louis’ Bike and fit always bring that extra flair that keeps us coming back to watch in amazement.
One of our favorite casual kits on the USA BMX National Series came from the Eugene, OR ripper Trent Jones with a silver flair to his Goods BMX race kit.

ach year, there is a time when the fun of working on the USA BMX series turns into a job. Constant travel, stacking tasks, and Grands prep take their toll, but then we get a weekend escape with a trip up to the Great Northwest. With the NCAA powerhouse stadium in the background and Oregon stylers on track, the Lumberjack Nationals brought the perfect mix of speed and style to the weekend.
Before we dive into the racing action, our mind drifts to Saturday night memories, when riders of all ages hit the trackside trails after the races. The Oregon sunset, with its breathtaking beauty, painted the sky, and local rippers floated in the clouds. The Goods BMX/ Badstart Brand rippers showed us where their on-track style was cultivated.
Once the battle charged down the first straight at Emerald Valley BMX, the BMX fun turned into 35 seconds of pure competition. It kicked off with the 12 Cruisers, where Jacob Gonzalez, with his impeccable skill, showed the fans his air show a little too long. Skipping through the second and third straights, Gonzalez had our attention through the lens, but with his strategic move, Edgar Fernandez saw his opening for the Friday win thanks to a last-turn bump and run.
The bump-and-run move returned to the last turn for Saturday’s 10x main, where John Kerr threw the hail-mary low line. Just over a bike length behind Barrett Macias, Kerr checked up, took a hard righthand turn to meet Macias at the apex, and claimed the lead with a bump and run.
Taking over the lead wasn’t exclusive to the final corner, though. For a few classes, the passes came in the straights, like Mighty Mia Reyna’s pass in 9x Girls taking over the lead from Maci Fry, going on to sweep the class’s top spots through the weekend. Another straight-away pass came from the 14x class, where Zane Piper grabbed his first National win on Saturday afternoon. With the leaders going down hard down the second straight, Piper took the fast lines he shared on #TrackTalk presented by Supercross BMX and kept it fast to the line with his cheering squad waving him in down the last straight.
Making the pass for the win is huge; however, the racers who won from the jump were seen at next-level speed. Factory FullTilt/ Radio’s Olivia Armstrong and Sean Day did precisely that in the Pro/ Am classes, with Day continuing to take the fast laps to his 17-20x racing. In the Women’s ranks of the 17-20 racing, Kira Boustead battled through a fast crew of racers, holding off Makinzie Palmer, Briella Barrett, and Makayla Brosius for a three-day sweep.
Briella Barrett and Makinzie Palmer continued their battles on the 24” side of the weekend. Taking it upstairs through the second straight with a cast and all, Palmer charged to chase down the BioLab-Box ride of Barrett. With her Cali speed, Barrett held onto the weekend cruiser wins, putting her up into the top NAG standings for the season.
ELBOWS OUT: Jacob Wood and Edgar JR Fernandez put their elbows out and prepare for transfer round battles in 12 Cruiser.
BMX BUDS: Before the battles, staging is where friendships are created. Just minutes from racing, these two wanted to remember their time at the Lumberjack Nationals.
With Cali’s speed on display, the Canadian crew of racers had speed of their own to show, with big wins scattered throughout the race weekend. One that caught our eye the most was Elle Foo-Donais’s dominating speed and skill in 12x Girls. Up against series regulars, Foo-Donais cranked it up in practice and kept it pinned into her race days. Taking home two wins in the class on Friday and Saturday, a crash in turn one on Sunday spoiled her three-forthree hopes but ignited her hunger with Candian Grands on the horizon.
A few more Canadians getting in on the fast laps were the brotherly duo of Connor and Dallen Bereton-Stiles taking their Factory RIFT Tangent rides to the winner’s circle in 13 and 15 Expert.
As the youngsters cultivated and created memories, the older dogs of BMX replayed lifelong battles. The 4145x classes saw those lifelong battles play out for the top spot with Tarik Assagai and Andy Andree. Lifelong competitors, the two went to war, with Tarik Assagai locking down first place through the weekend.
Good Gordy’s: Tommy Prewitt laid down the speed in 4145 Cruiser, showing the Lumberjack Nationals the Gordy’s speed.

Charging towards the Grand Nationals for the final gate drops of 2024, the racers of the USA BMX title classes have put themselves into title contention with TEN scores through the regular season. Let’s look at the Amateurs in the hunt for the four Silver Cups on that highadrenaline Sunday Night with some of the battles we expect to see around Tulsa.

As the Open classes wind down and the winner circle begins to clear, the first Title contender video starts to play with Girls/Women Cruiser loading into the gate. Throughout the 2024 season, the defending champion, Landon Burian, has been in a heated backand-forth battle with Minnesota’s Jemma Tollefson and Vegas’s Preslie Gould, all swapping the points lead at some point during the season. Looking at the current points, the 11-12 Girls Cruiser class will most likely bring four racers, “with a win and only a win,” into into the points lead. With Jemma Tollefson having the possibility of locking it up with her win alone, Malia Alvarez, Sequoia Gomolicke, and Savannah Priest will be looking to join Tollefson in the main event and claim their spot at the top of the leaderboard. The next class will
be eager to take over their lead as 13-14 Girls Cruiser brings two past Girls Cruiser Champions to the gate via Landon Burian and Lily Ashley. Continuing their season-long battles at the Greatest Race On Earth, the two have had ample experience racing each other on both bikes, making this match-up a must-watch race for the National No.1 and National Age Group titles. Currently sitting in third for the Girls/Women Cruiser points chase, Answer BMX’s Preslie Gould will have a battle on the track and against rider points in 15-16 Girls Cruiser. Barring 15-16 Girls Cruisers bring a deep enough field of racers to the Grand Nationals, Gould will make her hometown and team pit proud, racing for the title on Sunday night.
sits in the third spot in her title
Danny Waters leads the Boy/Men Cruiser with big wins through the season in 14 and 15 Cruiser. With the largest class in 2023 at 55 riders in 14 Cruiser, Waters will be looking for his class to return to Tulsa one year later to bump the 15 Cruiser rider count. Hoping to secure the Silver Cup on the main stage, Waters isn’t alone in the 15 Cruiser title call, as Florida’s Taylor Koll is only 24 points behind and bringing his East
the Cali kid. Before we get to their battles, we get to see the 11 Cruiser battle, where the two-time defending champ and the Impact PacMan
take on the fast laps from their fellow 11-year-olds. With back-toback titles under his belt, we can’t count out the Young Gun around Tulsa. Claiming both 2022 and 2023 titles outright with his Main event wins, 2024 brings will most likely have to not only beat the super fast Vegas speed of Trenton Paxman but also sweat out his points lead as the rest of the title contenders fight to dethrone the J&R Bicycles ride. If those four don’t claim the title, we have two racers in the top 10 who could get it done: Chase Harp in 12 Cruiser and a somewhat rare 17-20 Cruiser contender with Ricky Carter. These two will need a lot of help from the racers ahead of them in the chutes, but when it comes time to cross the line first, they will be hard to beat.
Following the Cruiser titles being claimed and the Intermediate and Novice classes creating lifelong memories during their Grands Main event, the top racers of the girls club will flash across the jumbotron. Leading the points through the 2024 season, Defending National No.1 Girl Alexis Alden leads the points ahead of three 15-16x Girls, each of whom could ‘easily’ leave the Expo with the title. We put quotations around “easily” because with Sadie Herrera, Addison Thompson, and Derin Merten on the hunt, getting to the main event and winning the final lap will be anything but. All three have the speed and ability to
Whether the No.1 Plate stays on Alexis Alden’s Speedco or gets handed off to the subsequent history maker, we know the Boys/Men Amateur Title won’t go back-to-back, but it might go back. The 2021 National No.1 Amateur Sean Day has seemed unstoppable through 2024, and as the points leader headed into the Grand Nationals, it will take a lot to stop Tacoma, WA, from having another Title added to its zip code. A couple of classes that could overthrow Sean Day’s Title hopes but keep the No.1 plate in the FullTilt Family come from the 12x class with Wyatt Christensen and the 14x class with Eli Staton. Christensen has already shown his speed in 2024, grabbing the World Championship title along with big win after big win across the USA BMX National Series. With a win, Christensen would not only be in the hot seat for the title but add to the Factory FullTilt team sheet as he watches the next FullTilt Jersey take a stab at the title with Eli Staton in 14x. Joined by Hayden Passanisi and Lucas Theisen as the top dogs of the class, Staton would have the edge on holding onto the points lead, currently sitting in the top five; however, a little Grands magic could bring Passanisi or Theisen to the hot seat. A gate drop behind Sean Day’s Title effort sits 2024’s class to watch, 16x. It’s a special mo-
take the top spot in what will most likely be the largest group of the Girls/Women Amateur Title battle, bringing extra pressure to the Title contenders outside of the 15-16x Girls class. For Lily Ashley and Landon Burian in 14x Girls, securing their spot on the leaderboard ahead of the keynote class makes way for the Grand Nationals chaos that can ensue like so many times before. For The defending champ, however, that title pressure is on pause until we see the final rider count of 1720x. With 50 riders joining 2023’s Grand National racing, this year is expected to see a slight dip; however, we know Double-A and her competitors will be ready to race for it all with a formidable group of future pros in 17-20x Women.
ment on the USA BMX Series when a class fills its eight-rider brim, and 16x has an entire Semi worth of talent led by defending NAG No.1 Gaige Go molicke and World Champ Chris Felker. Sitting inside of the top 10, the two long-time competitors will have to get through a stacked field before they can race to the title, but don’t be surprised when you hear, “with a win and only a win,” attached to these two rid ers. Returning down to the young gun classes, we must remember Coye Weidner for the Answer Factory squad. With an outside shot due to the amount of riders in the teenage classes, J-Dog will need some help to win the title, but you can count on him to give it his all to sit on top of the points lead.
ake us back to the World Famous Derby City BMX. A staple on any National BMX series in the US brings another year of big battles and big points toward a title at every level. For the Nationals TItle hunt, Amateur rider points are injected with boosted numbers and increased competition. For the Pros, it’s a season reset as the international racing concludes and eyes shift to the USA BMX Pro Series. For racers like Kam Larsen and Alise Willoughby, Derby City brings a need to maintain their lead, while for Cam Wood, Izaac Kennedy, Payton Ridenour, and Molly Simpson, it kick starts a nine-score run towards the Grand Nationals. From District Champ to National No.1 Pro, we’ll look back at the Derby City Nationals as a key to their success in the 2024 season.
In an effort to elevate Pro racing for riders and fans, USA BMX brought a new pro schedule to test. With a delayed start to the Pro Schedule, a night show to race under the lights and put an emphasis on the athleticism of the top level in BMX Racing. Four top dogs in the Men Pro classes shined as the action snapped down the hill for the Pro rounds. Cam Wood, Izaac Kennedy, Kamren Larsen, and Joey Leto caught the eyes of the fans, and even while Kam Larsen took a crash early through the third straight pro set, his speed was undeniable as the next two motos hit the track. As the sun dipped below the tree line and the track lights flipped on, the energy ramped up for SuperX and Pro main events. In the SuperX classes, we saw two of our favorites take the top spots, with Preslie Gould dominating the Women’s total point racing for the Factory Answer squad. For the Men’s side of SuperX, the final eight were whittled down from an original 43, hoping to take a big hill win home from the legendary facility. Those final eight searching for backside down the landing of the Derby first jump, The Assassin Ronnie Kim led into turn one. That lead was short-lived, and a man dressed in all white opened up the low line and grabbed the lead. Marshall Gehrke put his tires to the test around turn one and went through the rest of the track in true Major fashion, Smooth and Stylish.
Back up to the big hill for the Women Pro main event, the first Louisville Slugger and Answer BMX Holeshot were on the line with heavy hitters lined up bar to bar. With Vaughn, Willoughby, Kane, and Stancil from gate one to four, the bottom of the hill got dicey as a cascade of events went from Vaughn to Stancil, creating an airborne eject for Ssquared’s Felicia Stancil. While the World Champ Alise Willoughby survived the contact up the lip of the first jump, her speed was scrubbed, leaving her to battle in the pack. From gate one and five, Daleny Vaughn and Payton Ridenour took the one-two lead down the second straight with Ridenour on the hunt. From the outside into turn two to the lead down the third straight, Payton got the elbow in front of Vaughn, forcing a minor check-up in speed, paving the way for Willoughby to claim the second-place spot, following the Mongoose race rig into the finish line runout. Ending the streak of Sluggers for one and putting it into a Tulsa, OK, trophy case, The Men’s bat was also ready for a new home.
When the ‘goose gets loose, it’s hard to tame, and with a Ridenour win, Cam Wood’s ‘goose was ready for a win of its own. Ssquareds Jack Davis popped off a fast Semi time to snatch the night’s first gate pick, moving Wood into gate two. With Kennedy and Larsen in four and five, Wood charged into turn one with an inside, elbow-to-elbow with Larsen. With a highspeed high-low from Larsen, Wood
could hang on for the Answer Holeshot and then some, taking the outright lead after pushing Larsen wide into turn two. That push wide allowed Kennedy to gain some ground and add 10 points to his day, slotting in for the two as the podium boys settled into their Friday podium. With a Cowboy on the top spot, bringing a new addition to the Slugger club, a veteran around Derby took a couple more sluggers.
Barry Nobles rocked the top spot of the Vet Pro class through the weekend, with his consistent competitors close behind.
Kicking off Friday’s main out of gate six with a powerful Jeff Upshaw and Emilio Falla to either side, Nobles took the straight-on line to the turn and didn’t look back. With Big Jeff and Emilio slotting into the podium spot under the lights, the three looked to repeat their fast laps on Saturday night. Or at least they tried.
A fan-exciting Amateur race day in the morning, a packed house for the Answer BMX Autograph session, and an eager crew of night-ready racers were met with a lightning storm to remind us Mother Nature stays undefeated.
Airing on the side of caution, the racing resumed the following Sunday, thanks to a hard night’s work from the Derby City BMX crew and the helpful hands of the BMX Family. Reigniting their race legs for “Day Two” Sunday morning, the evolving track condition added an extra layer to the competition.
Missing the Friday racing action, Molly Simpson loaded into the gate with an untapped speed, ready to take on the Title chase with a fast third round and the first gate pick ahead of the Women Pro main. Meeting day one winner into the first turn, Simpson used her inside line to take the lead and go on the defensive with Ridenour and the corner bomber, Carly Kane, close behind. The Kane corner bomb came in turn three with the Huffy Prototype looking for a two-for-one special.
THE JUMP: Derby City is the perfect spot to test the big hill race legs putting the SuperX class into big battles with future Elites fighting for SX experience.
w2 PISTOL: Las Vegas’ Preslie Gould has had herself one heck of a year with a SuperX win to add to her season stats.
Slotting in for the second spot, Kane almost claimed her first slugger, but instead, the bat made its way to Canada, with Molly Simpson claiming her first win of the season and the first Louisville win for the Daylight Cycles superstar. Coming back from being under the weather on Friday to taking the win on Sunday, Simpson ignited her title hopes for 2024, stating after the podium, “We’re going for that title.”
For the Men’s classes, a lot of talent is gunning for the title, with the names from Day One returning to make another run for the slugger. That hunger showed down the second straight and last turn as the fence line fans were greeted with a four-wide battle and a high-low to solidify the Derby City podium. Cam Wood out front after battling through the Izaac Kennedy’s elbow into turn one, and a stack of racers lined up white line to white line down the second straight is what Jeremy Smith watched from the last place spot. Did the Hyper rider panic? Nope. He played the veteran role and waited for his chance to boomerang back to the steps. Ticking off a few down straight three and swooping for two more spots down the last straight, Jeremy Smith goes last to third, an unheard-of feat in the current pro classes of BMX racing.
As Cam Wood climbed onto the podium for a second slugger, the title chase was sparked for him and his Chase Bicycles competitor, Izaac Kennedy.
The Pro battles ignited a title run while the amateurs looked for those missing pieces to perfect their seasonlong scores. All it takes is a few wins with a high rider count to jump up in the NAG/NAT standings, and those
high rider counts were seen in Louisville.
For the 17-20 Women Cruiser, Saturday’s 14-rider racing brought BMX Sharks to the top, with Shelby Elder out front. Only a few classes later, in 11 Cruiser, the defending National No.1 Cruiser, Cody Young, took the 16-rider challenge and battled it out with Friday winner Jackson Stauffer. With the Black plate speed running one and two, Young’s J&R ride held off the black widow for the biggest boys’ cruiser win of the weekend.
Cody Young had plenty of fellow Floridians racing hard through the weekend, but Florida wasn’t the only state to bring their heavy hitters. Up one border into Georgia, the Acworth and Peachtree speed raced to the line for a pair of 23 rider wins. Sadie Herrera and Alexis Alden took charge of the 15-16 and 17-20x Girls classes. Doing it for the Factory FullTilt/Radio crew, Sadie Herrera got out front. She stretched her lead to the line in dominating fashion, cementing her spot as a National No.1 contender for 2024. With one win going home to Georgia for Herrera, Double A Alexis ALden was on the hunt for a win of her own. While she had to power past USA Cycling Junior National Champ Rita Fedewa on Friday night, Alden wasted no time, gaining the lead out of turn one, bringing a second 23-rider score to Georgia.
From 23 to 54, the 17-20x class brought international speed to EP Tom Sawyer State Park with the return of Factory BABs. The day’s big winner came with a Bogota speed boost as Juan Velasquez hit the top spot from gate 8. Finding himself in third into the first turn, the w7 bike took an extra carve at the apex to exit the turn on the top spot in front of Powerlite DFR’s Thomas Restrepo.
A lot of action has come to the BMX world in Louisville, KY, and as the 2024 Derby City Nationals wound down on Sunday afternoon, the excitement for more could still be felt, eager for another race in EP Tom Sawyer State Park.
WALK OFF WIN: A podium we’ve grown accustom to in the Vet Pro class, Barry Nobles, Jeff Upshaw, and Emilio Falla climb the podium once again.

The beautiful views of Vancouver Island around the facility and fast racers battling around Greater Victoria BMX brought another fun weekend to the BMX Canada season. Challenging racer’s pack riding ability, Victoria put speed on display with a fast first straight leading into the highspeed split second straight. Watching those who dared to go big through the pro set, Keira Murphy in the Women’s Pro/Am was one of those who dared as she floated through the big side securing her second place behind Tiffany Brosius on Saturday and jumping up a step into the top spot on Sunday. One gate drop later it was the Men’s turn to battle through the track and lock in their final scores before returning to Chilliwack. Both Saturday and Sunday featured the DB Factory squad on the top spots as Nico Martinez and Max Ganakovsky traded wins with Austin Cornbill staying consistant with a pair of third places for the Factory Motofill appearance on the podium.
Igniting the crowd as wheels turn down the front straight, the 5 & Under Novies tested their young riding ablitiy as they went four wide into turn one. Controlling their speed and fighting to keep their feet on the pedals, Liam Brealey swept the weekend and ended his Sunday race day with a move up memory to remember.
Dominating the track and using every bit of bike skill to take the win, Elle Foo-Donais hit the track with traveling racer Vida De Vera and Surrey, BC’s Lily Backman on the hunt. Using her skills to stretch ahead down the second straight on Saturday and Sunday after DeVera started their battles out front on Friday. Bumping and battling down the mountain into turn one, the 12x class got competitive as Factory Motofill’s Andrei ‘Da Tank’ Martinez got the jump on Rift/ Tangent’s Leonardo Leavy. Taking the Sunday holeshot out of turn one, Leavy fought hard to keep the weekend sweep alive but Martinez got out and got gone to lock in the Sunday win.
DOWN THE MOUNTAIN: Stacked up three wide down the first straight, Meriah Honeysett grabbed the inside advantage against Kenzie Green and Sky Sherman.
RIDING THE BUll: The Greater Victoria second straight brought some great battles and an extra challenge to the class seen here with Kamden Norris hanging on for backside in 6x.
FASTEST NUMBER IN BMX: Laura Stewart is so fast she has two No.1’s on her plate as she charges down the first straight.
AIR TIME: Utilizing the

If you were trying to win a Gold Cup plate in the Northeast this year your final two races, the Gold Cup Finals, were held at Egg Harbor Township BMX in New Jersey. The track is located in a big municipal park surrounded by regular ball fields and three hockey fields. The big red truck was last seen here for the 2019 Garden State Nationals, but EHT BMX is better known for their season kick off race the Jack Frost Classic, AKA the Single Point National. This Northeast season opening race brings in over a hundred motos, usually in sub 50 degree weather, and riders come from all around to get in their first race of the year here.
This weekend would be different from the freezing cold Jack Frost race, we had 167 motos on Day One and 155 motos on Day Two and the weather was incredible. Although it was a little foggy one morning it was warm and sunny otherwise, which usually is not the norm for the Northeast GC Finals, we usually have at least one day of rain. EHT BMX is definitely one of the best tracks in the Northeast, it is fairly long, extremely technical and starts off with a barrel gate. Even if you rode here for the Jack Frost Classic, the track is likely different than when you last saw it, they often make mid-year changes to the track layout to keep things interesting.
Overall it was a killer weekend with great weather, what more could you ask for?
FLY COUNTRY: Just a few hundred miles from FLY HQ the brand was well represented with Cooper ‘Cherry Bomb’ Cherry.
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Teammates off the track, competitors on the track as the Nevin family brought both John and Samuel to the track to battle in 17-20x.
FACTORY SPEED: Racing out of Omak, WA, Jay Duran brought his Factory Syndyt/LSG speed to Spokane BMX to claim his Gold Cup Title in 46-50x.
NUMBER ONE: “What place did you get?” “I GOT FIRST!!”

Eager for the Gold plates and Titles of the region, the Northwest got down to business in Spokane. A region of BMX fun, these racers battled for the 2024 Northwest Gold Cup plates with the home town talent ready to defend their turf. Joe Albi’s Spokane BMX brought a tradition M layout with a three jump first straight and fast second half of the track to put the pack close together towards the line.
On the Gold Cup circuit, especially in the Northwest, there are racers who consistently find the top spot of that Sunday podium ceremony. Next Generation Racing’s Veta Cramer is one of those racers taking the top spot of the podium after a heated battle with Peyton Howard in 15-16 Girls Cruiser.
For the hometown crew, there were a few racers battling on the top spot but it was 11 Cruiser’s Rylan Tarr who caught our eye, climbing the top step of his Cruiser podium. Taking both Saturday and Sunday wins, Tarr dominated the class straight onto the top step holding the No.1 plate high for his local track. Just a few classes later in 66 & Over Cruiser it was the Bionic Man, Danny Bushnell, who held his plate high with Rich Mundell and Charles Rossell alongside him proving age is just a number when it comes to BMX.
BUMPIN’: Stacking up the competition, Magic BMX’s Miller leads the way with Dominic Webber
Mother Nature stays undefeated in the North Central region. With storms on the way, the North Central Gold Cup action got a two in one special as the Regions fast racers flooded into MadTown BMX’s pocket of paradise. Bringing an inner U to outer U track layout to the Gold Cup series, MadTown brought some added spice to the year’s regional finale. Holding one of the best kept secrets in BMX, the North Central racers are as fast as they come making for entertaining racing at every level but especially through the regional battles. Eight & Under Girls Cruiser is a perfect example with Stella Palomaki, Rowyn Fischer, and Kenidea Wallgren battling to the first turn and beyond. From the start of the class to the end where the Anderson sisters, Shirley and Sheryll, joined Miss Kittie Weston-Knauer for the 56 & Over Gold Cup Titles. The class has many more years of racing to come.
DEFENDING THE TITLE: Brooklyn Turley charges down the first straight with her fellow 14x Girls in tow.
Some battles just getting started came from the 13 Intermediate class where Glencoe, MN’s Cayden Miguel charged the track to land himself on the overall podium with the Gold Cup No.2 behind Antioch Cyclery’s Eaton English. Up to the final class of the weekend, WAY past their bed time on Saturday, Frank Branum crossed the line for the win and the title to close out the racing action at MadTown BMX.
DON’T GET MANGLED: Factory Mangler’s
SEARCHING FOR GOLD: As the defending Gold Cup No.3, Dirt Addiction’s William Wetendorf looked for the lead in 13x with Lincoln Hundstad joining the battle.
THE LEGEND: A competitor to some and an inspiration to many, Miss Kittie brought her positive vibes to the No.Central racing at MadTown BMX
LONG HAIR DON’T
CARE: Ryan Mote showed off his airtime for the DL BMX crew in 16x
GOLD v GOLD: Kingston Pommells and Sutton Erwin showed off their Gold plate speed ending the weekend with no new plate needed, holding onto the 1 & 2 plates in 11 Cruiser.
PEDAL FLOW: Lincoln
HE’LL BE BACK:
Tevin ‘The Terminator’ Johnson cranked through the track with his fellow 10x competitiors for the GC No.3.
NO CHAOS: Colton Wyatt fought off the chaos that can come from the 36-40 Inter class landing himself on the podium with the GC No.2.

At the top end of the Southeast region the Gold Cup battles awaited with Lexington, SC welcoming in the racer who had gold in their sights at Lexington BMX. Bringing the souther speed from Georgia and Florida up to compete with the Carolina racers, the Southeast Gold Cup Finals saw bar-to-bar battles the region has come to love.
Racing up from Boca Raton, FL, Zahra Urena showed off her Power FX SpeedCo speed in 10x girls through the weekend climbing the podium with Kylee Maybin and Kendall Brown filling out the podium.
In one of the fastest classes in BMX the 16x racers fought hard all weekend with Tristan Pryor fighting through the pack to upgrade his GC 2 to the skinny digit. Up against Carter Wise for the title, they both would have to get past Chris Fosdyck from Douglasville, GA on top of their own overall battle.
The same went for Nathan Evers’ trip to the top step of the podium as Ryan Rose came into the weekend to play upset in 36-40x. In a PAK Racing sandwich between Rose and Daniel Ready, Evers powered through to claim the GC No.1 plate for the Chaos Squad.
OUT WITH A POP: 56& Over’s John ‘POP’ Lormand kept his eyes on the prize while fending off Texas’ own Gene Pilgrim.
Two hours west of the USA BMX HQ, the Gold Cup action hit Yukon BMX for the South Central action. Filled to the brim with southern speed and regional rivalries, the racers of the weekend took to the track in search of Gold plates and new jackets to rock at the track.
FULL FOCUS: We see a lot of different race face variations but Kenna Jones stays stone cold and focused when the gate drops.
Kicking off with the young ripper to the left, Kenna Jones came to repeat, and that she did, holding onto the 6x Girls GC No.1 for another year. Yukon local Keeaira Sherrill wanted to do the same, bringing Jocelyn Wright and Skyler Brown with her to the finishline in 15-16x Girls with all three stepping up to the podium.
Watching the locals get it done in the girls club must have sparked the 4145 Intermediate class as Joey Barta cranked his way to the weekend win and the overall GC No.1 with John Weed and Christian Villa joining the step into the Gold plate celebrations.
From competitor love to brotherly love, the Guihan family brought Conner and Collin to battle for the skinny digit as the two went head to head in 12x. With a good battle through the track, Conner would claim victory, hitting the top step one above Collin with year long bragging rights until 2025’s Gold Cup Finals hit the track.
RACING FOR A CAUSE: Racing’s fun, but racing with a purpose is extra sweet. Just ask Purple Heart Racing’s Sydney Akin.
LANDSTAR SPEED: Making their name known throughout the region, Ryler Long brings Landstar Racing to the winners circle.
MAJESTIC BATTLES: William ‘The Fire’ Crane battles for the Majesty Racing crew in 10 Inter with Tazo Frattini hunting on the inside.
THE LOCAL RIPPER: High Top Vans, Motorcycle helmet and Chromo Frame? Yep, that’s gotta be OKC’s own Jason Kennedy in 41-45 Inter.
FLY GUY SAVOSTIN: San Diego breeds fast racers and we’re putting Daniel Savostin in that list of racers in 6x.
BIG WHEELIN’: Bringing his Phoenix speed to the Interstate with Tim Knapp and Ryon Gomez in 3640 Cruiser.
BUSY BEE: Getting busy on the big wheels, Alana Kushinsky took off her bubblewrap to lock in some laps around Interstate BMX.
BIOLAB LEADER: Taking the top spot in 26-35 Inter, Joseph Gagliano led the pack to the line.
KICK OUT:
Trenton Klein kicked out in the lead during his 15 Inter racing, locking down the GC No.1 title for another season.

Back in Kingman for racing in the desert with the fast Southwest speedsters, brought California, Arizona and Nevada speed to battle the rest of the region. Familiar faces filled the staging chutes and geared up for title winning battles around Interstate BMX.
Kicked off by a 14 & Over Pro/Am battle between Tempe’s Luke Howes and Supercross BMX’s Justin Perkins, the weekend was set up for fun times on two wheels. Right away we saw that fun with Nixon Fanning taking the Mixed Open win.
With a strong presence from Gordy’s and BioLab BOX teams, their racers brought fast speeds like those from Amaya Gonzalez and Rory Strain going back to back in 8 & Under and 9-10 Girls Cruiser.
A powerhouse on the National series, Tim Knapp brought his speed to the regional racing in 36-40x battling Dustin Cross and David Reed onto the top step of the podium, earning the GC No.1.
With Justin Perkins kicking off the racing, Shawn ‘Swifty’ O’Gorman finished it for the Supercross BMX crew locking in a top spot with Greg Webster and Robert Raymonde sharing a Taco Tuesday celebration on the 56 & Over Expert Podium.
PEAK SPEED: BioLab-Peak Performance’s Micah Yibwemar was seen out front and dominating 8 Novice all the way to earning the 8 Novice GC No.1 plate.

AIR SHOW: Showing off his skill into the third straight, Tommy Herrera took it up around Tulsa.
Take us back to Tulsa. The home of USA BMX brings another race weekend to its gates with the third rendition of the Legacy Nationals. Just a few months after the international scene made its mark around Hardesty, the Amateurs and Pros of the USA BMX National hit the track for three days of long track battles. The racing action tested even the best at Hardesty BMX, which calls for an elevated set of skills and stamina to keep the fast lines fast. Local Olympian, Payton Ridenour, showed us those fast lines and needed skill with #TrackTalk presented by Supercross BMX. Pointing out the must-jump second straight and the preferred lines for the elites down the third straight, Ridenour would go on to use those exact lines, powering to a podium spot in Friday’s racing.
Bringing the night show test schedule to Tulsa, USA BMX was able to get the delayed start for two days of racing under the Hardesty roof. Stepping up to the challenge of Tulsa’s first jump, the Men’s SuperX class was the first to take the track on Friday night. From the first rounds, a few were seen as the top dogs. Seen in front of the pack in each round, Zac Stoppa from Queensland, Australia, has found his footing in the US, bringing fast laps under his belt into the Friday Main event, with US names like Gunn, Ragle, and Stenson gunning into the first turn, along with Louisville’s two-day winner, Marshall Gehrke, who headed to Tulsa to keep his winning ways going. Rocking the R.I.S.E Program Jersey, The Major got to the front from the middle of the pack with Gate one’s Zac Stoppa challenging the lead into turn one. The two split up for the second straight, with Marshall going for the high road. Stoppa fought from second place spot down the third straight to the line, but Gehrke had the top step of the SuperX podium locked up tight. Gehrke would go into Day Two with another win in his future. An Albe’s rocket streaked down the first straight into the turn one lead, Gehrke and Ryder Santos tucked behind and plotted their pass. Staying low with the Am side of the second straight, the grandstands held their breath as Matthew Weerts and Marshall Gehrke’s lines met into turn two. With a better angle around the turn, Gehrke forced a Weerts brake check, allowing Santos to grab an extra carve and take the two-spot in between Gehrke and Brady Oneil across the line.
The “kid” from Antioch, IL, doubled up in Tulsa. Why can’t the Canadian? Molly Simpson came into Tulsa hot off her win at the Derby City Nationals and looked for redemption around the track that denied her a World Cup Podium.
An eight-rider total point class elevated the Women Pro Racing right from the rip as Simpson, Daleny Vaughn, Payton Ridenour, and Lexis Colby took the low points into their third and final lap on Friday night. As Vaughn and Simpson brought their fast hill times to their third lap, Simpson used her bike skill to power through the backside of the first jump and come out of the first turn with the Answer Holeshot award. Leading the podium spot throught the rest of the track it was Payton Rid-
enour and Daleny Vaughn, who would join Simpson on the podium stage. Race Day Two came back to the track with one looking to repeat and seven racing for the upset. With another eight-rider total point race Molly Simpson knew she had some work to do from gate eight, Simpson and Tucson’s Daleny Vaughn got out first with a Vaughn 2.57sec hill time. Landing on the backside with a little tag from Vaughn, Daylight’s Molly Simpson capitalized to the first turn, grabbing the Holeshot and solidify ing her win. As the ladies raced through the second and third straights, Carly Kane snuck into the front of the pack, banging bars with Vaughn. Pushing her high in turn three, Kane battled with the Olympian while a pop of color was lurking for the pass. Mckenzie Gayheart lurked behind the battle until her time to strike came down the last straight. With Kane and Vaughn banging bars on the white line, Skittles gained ground and made the uncontested pass for the second-place finish, bumping h into the bottom step on the podium for Day Two at the Legacy Nation als.
The back-to-back restart of the USA BMX Pro Series brought even more eyes to the Men Pro racing. Throughout the week, the big three on the series were the talks of the HQ office. Cam Wood coming off his back-to-back wins, Izaac Kennedy searching for his first win on the series since Houston, and Kam Larsen fighting to hold his points lead. With history around the track between Wood and Kennedy, the battles kept the fans glued to that Tulsa first turn. They wouldn’t have to wait long as the Friday Night main saw a bump and run from the ‘06 Lexus. Kennedy and Wood lined up elbow to elbow in one and two with a bunch more speed waiting to the outside. Down the first straight, Wood took a lead on the pack and entered turn one with

the lead. As the pack reached the apex of the turn, Izaac Kennedy stuck to his inside line and saw the winning path open up for him. Meeting Wood at the exit, the two top dogs of the series came together putting Wood on the gound and Kennedy out front. While bodies bumped up high, Kamren Larsen was on the carve to take over the lead and grab the Answer BMX Holeshot, leading into the second straight. Coming in with a full run down the top of turn one, Kennedy carried his speed past Larsen and finished the lap out front. Towing in Larsen and Rookie Pro, Drew Polk, to the podium, the Aussie grabbed his much needed win in the late half of the season.
With rested legs and a night show ahead of them, the Men Pro’s Saturday racing charged under the lights once again in Tulsa. Lined up in gate one, two and three, the podium was waiting for us on top of the gate. As the logos fell and the final rack of eight

UNDER PRESSURE: While the points leader, Kam Larsen has had plenty of experience in the class, knowing Cam Wood and Zach van Kammen are coming in hot has to be a nerve racking feeling.
cranked down the big hill, Cam Wood was leaving no room for a repeat as he quickly locked down the inside over the first jump. Keeping it strictly business through the track, Wood led Kennedy and Polk to the stripe with Larsen in four, closing the overall points lead by a hair while keeping Answer BMX colors on top into the next meeting of the Men Pros.
While the Men Pro wins split between the two top dogs, Vet Pro was locked down tight by the Chase Bicycle Alabama Slamma. Racing through total point battles, Nobles laid down some hot laps with a new front of the pack contender, Christopher Mireles. Joining Nobles and Arizona’s Corey Reid on both day’s podium, Mireles his semi local status to bring him fast lines and low points to finish the weekend with a third and second place spot in the Vet Pro battles.
National
To each of the National stops that highlight the Pros there is the
CHAMPAGNE SHOWERS: Victory celebrations are always sweeter for the pro classes covered in champagne.
Amateur battles that ignite excitement for the future of BMX. In Tulsa it was the 15-16x Girls and 16 Expert boys that sparked that eager excitement. From Day One’s 15-16 main where Derin Mertn dominated the track and the pack, Saturday’s Main got a little crazier thanks to a bump and blown clip. Hunting to keep the racing close into turn one, Powerlite DFR’s Lola Jonjevich wasn’t backing down from Merten’s gate eight charge. A small touch is all it took to make the dominoes fall up and over the step-up triple into turn one. As Bella White charged to the win with Katy Cirus in tow, Jonjevich circled back to check on her competitors as they all went on to battle another day on Sunday.
For the 16x side of the excitement, it was Saturday main that brought the stadium to their feet. Minnesota’s Gage Hill got the main started out front with all kinds of pressure from Griffin Kelleher and Evan Esposito close behind. As the three charged into the third turn, Esposito saw his chance for a two for one special, diving into the inside. With some racecraft telling him to dive low, Hill met the Albe’s ride in the middle of the turn, forcing them both up and over into the soft stuff leaving J&R’s Kelleher with a clean track infront of him for the 17 rider win.
NATIONAL MONSTERS: 17-20x has had many top dogs and while these two are still on the grind, Nate Loy and Ricky Carter are two main event monsters in the class.

HOLESHOT HUNTING: Daleny Vaughn leads the ladies into turn one for a low score in Saturday’s early rounds.
ARIZONA AIRSHOW: Luke Howes and Corben Sharrah push through the Pro set to keep their laps fast on Friday night.
Everything is bigger in Texas, including the battles on the BMX track. The USA BMX National series brought the National battles back to Pflugerville for a weekend filled with fast speeds ramping into the first Final Four National races. Tanner Sebesta and the Capitol City BMX crew got to work long before the racers started to roll in. With a fresh new pro straight on the track and a straight rhythm behind staging, Capitol City BMX brought exciting times to the series. The Pro classes raced to the finish line during another test schedule, showcasing the competitive spirit and dedication of the BMX community.
After the Derby City and Legacy Nationals tested a night show schedule, Texas brought a new schedule lining up the Pro and Amateur racing. The racers geared up to bring a show to both sets of fans watching the action, promising a weekend filled with thrilling races and exciting moments. Throughout the decades, battles in Texas have been some of the best, and with two pro weekends in 2024, the state brought pivotal moments to the Pro ranks as the Men and Women Pro classes split their wins and added an extra bit of excitement to the Title chase. Coming into the second to last regular season Pro stop, the Women Pro class was looking for their chance to close the gap on points leader Alise Willoughby. Dawning her World Champion jersey, the 33-yearold went to war with the young guns of the class. Starting her Friday night main event in gate two, Willoughby knew she would have to contend with fast first straights to her outside. Daleny Vaughn has been lighting up the series with her fast starts all season long, putting her in the mix down the first straight. Up and over the tabletop first jump, Willoughby and Vauhgn were joined by the Daylight Cycle’s Canadian, Molly Simpson. With open air around her down the backside of the first jump, Simpson powered down and hit turn one with her elbow in front. Grabbing the Holeshot on her way to a fourth

win in a row, the World Champ slotted in behind her fellow Daylight racer, with Lauren Reynold’s outside charge joining the battles. Railing the top of turn one, Reynolds charged with a head full of steam down the second straight and put the pressure on Simpson in the second half of the track. Going elbow-to-elbow into turn three, Simpson’s inside line secured her lead and allowed Willoughby to charge the outside of the dog-legged last straight for the Daylight 1-2. Returning to the podium on the three spot, Answer BMX’s Lozza Bear reminded us why she’s a key player on the series with consistency on her side, charging through Day Two with another podium.
Saturday racing brought more fast laps to the Women Pro class and a chance to make big strides in the overall points battle. With Willoughby not lining up for Saturday’s race for an unknown reason, Mongoose’s Payton Ridenour saw her chance to return to the podium’s top step. Laying down fast laps all day, Ridenour had one more to go too. Snapping out of gate three with speed on both sides, Ridenour stood out from the pack with a powerful

pedal manual over the first jump. Slinging her into the pull position into the first turn, Daleny Vaughn and Lauren Reynolds chased down the 15 bike while fending off Molly Simpson on the podium bubble. As Ridenour powered ahead down the third straight, Reynolds made her move on Vaughn around the outside. Keeping it fast and smooth through the tricky dog leg, the ladies locked up the podium and gained that extra inch into title territory with only three scores remaining before the Grand Nationals.
Split between Simpson and Ridenour, the Men Pro class saw a split with a repeat Kennedy/Wood battle royale. The Men Pro ranks came to play at the Texas Nationals after a three-week break. Bringing the expected cast of characters to the track, their speed off the fivemeter start hill hit top speeds in no time. Before we get into the weekend’s big winners, we have to talk about the podium run by a certain rookie in the class.
Syndyt LSG’s top dog, Drew Polk, is having himself a season. In the mix with some of the fastest racers in BMX, Polk is bringing the rookie class to the podium again and again. With four podiums going into the weekend, Polk saddled up with some extra confidence in his back pocket. The boys loaded into the gate and got ready for a Texas-sized battle. As the three favorites snapped out of the inside gates, our eyes drifted to gate eight with a first-time A-main appearance from Luke Howes. A true riders’ rider, Howes, brought his Arizona speed to the final eight, finishing his lap with a fifth place and locked into the points table. Back to the podium battle, Kennedy and Wood were at it again down the inside line. With pure determination to get to the lead, Kennedy snuck his elbow in front over the first straight roller, locking in the lead out of turn one. Wood and Larsen followed close behind through the second and third straight, waiting for their chance to capitalize. That chance would never come as the Chase Bicycles ride kept his lap fast and smooth, landing him the Friday win. Back on the podium bubble, Larsen charged into turn three with another step on the podium in his sights. With a carve and a crank, his pedal met asphalt, popping a cloud of dust into the air and flinging him to the exit of the turn. Able to avoid the carnage, Polk took his fourth place to a third for his first of two Texas podiums.
Locking back into the gate for their Saturday racing, the fans were ready to see The Cowboy Cam Wood take home the belt buckle in Pflugerville. Starting his main in gate one, Wood took an uninterrupted sprint into the turn while Larsen, Kennedy, and Cameron Bramer bumped and battled down the first straight. As Kennedy tucked into the turn in second, a streak of yellow shot the gap pushed Bramer to the white line. Drew Polk took his run from the outside, finding his chance to lock in yet another podium in turn one. Keeping the lap smooth and single file around Capitol City BMX, the Men Pro top dogs power-wheeled out of turn three and made their stretch for the line, bringing the Wood, Kennedy, Polk podium back to the finishline crowd. From the young guns building their legacy in the Pro ranks to the Veterans showing they still have Double A speed, the Vet Pro class boosted excitement with the 54 bike of
the
Tanner Sebesta joining the racing action. On Friday night, the first man behind Jeff Upshaw was the rider with more track time than the entire class, as Tanner Sebesta tucked into second place down the second straight. A major player in the class’s year-long battles, Big Jeff Upshaw, capitalized on the weekend via two wins against a small but stacked field, helping his chase for the title with less than a handful of opportunities left. With Zeronine and Answer out front and self-funded, Corey Reid put his Fly Racing kit onto the podium, with Arizona cultivated speed shining in Texas. As the pack continued to battle through each lap, the weekend’s Vet Pro racing was owned by these three racers who look to do it again at the next stop on the series.
Slotted between the Pro rounds, the Amateur mains kept the crowd on the fence line as they banged bars around the track. However, our favorite battle from the Amateur ranks came from the young 9x girls. Young in years but old in experience, the class has seen quite a few battles in 2024, and in Texas, it was Mighty Mia Reyna and Dynamite Daisy Noyola going into Sunday tied up, each with a win on Friday and Saturday. Down the first straight for their Sunday main event, LDC’s Mia Reyna looked to shut the door on Noyola, but her roots held firm, carving the low line and blooming into the lead out of turn one. The class with little legs and enormous speed charged into turn two with Roo Roo Eden Ireland knocking on the door, but Dynomite Daisy kept her wheels in the fast lane, leaving the weekend with two class wins and the “Move of the Weekend” title thanks to her Sunday Main.
THE FLYING V: Right out of the Mighty Ducks playbook, Jack Davis leads the pack out of turn one.
MN DOMINANCE: A top dog in the class for a couple years now, Kendall Ehlen showed her next level speed to the crowd in 13x girls.

RACE FOR LIFE
Help raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
USA BMX and BMX Canada are among the top fundraisers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Each year, riders gather donations and raise funds for this worthwhile cause. The Race For Life Series was started in 1981 to help a fellow BMXer diagnosed with leukemia.
Please visit USABMXRFL.org to get started earning these fine prizes from BOX Components and SYNDYT.
Each year, every USA BMX track holds a “Race For Life”, with all proceeds going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The team that took charge of the 2024 BMX Canada National Series, Factory Rift/Tangent Canada, brought their speed back to Chilliwack to cap off their next-level season at the Canadian Grands. The crew of Canadian racers rocking the black and gold have made their talents known in Canada while keeping the racers in the States on their toes when they join them at the gate. With a mix of young hunters and teenage dominators,
this squad keeps the fun rolling into their pits with a close-knit family dynamic, with everyone pitching in their helping hand to benefit the team. Finishing the season with 1,346 points, Factory Rift Canada won 12 out of the 21 total team sheets, winning all but three days on the BC side of the series. Featuring key players on the series, this squad has a bright future both in Canada and internationally as they continue their BMX careers.

It provides insight and gives you real time data to track, allowing you to make informed decisions in training and now on race day. Bringing in Sqorz timing to USA BMX events will be both fun and functional for racers to elevate their performance.”

Dear Gabi,
WHEW!
It has been a crazy ride and everyone is excited. Both the State and Gold Cup series have completed and the Membership Department is gearing up for the final stretch of the season. Here are a few frequently asked questions to get ready for the closing of the season:
How do you qualify for an invitation to ROC? – The top 10 riders in each age and skill level from each State / Provincial Championship series will be eligible to race the ROC. The top 10 Novices, Intermediates, Experts, Girls, Cruisers and Girl Cruisers of each age class. Check the website for the ROC list…under State Points!
When I look at my points it says SIG MISSING – That means we have not received the signed waiver for your renewal. You can digitally sign the waiver, just go to the website and login to your online profile. There click on Riders and then on Submit Digital Signature. Follow the prompts and submit!
Year End Awards Reminder – Riders earn points from January 1-December 15. You must have a current membership on December 15 in order to be eligible for year-end awards.
With all of the craziness we are experiencing a bit of a backlog in Membership, please be patient! If you need to reach out here are our email addresses:
• membership@usabmx.com OR points@usabmx.com
If you are contesting a finish at a race, you will need to reach out to the track, ask them to review their score sheets and explain why. If a correction is required, the track will reach out to us directly.
Remember, be safe, have fun and we will see you on the track!
