The Towing Experience
Tow Car Taster Sessions
Brush up on your skills with a 20-minute motorhome manoeuvring taster session, the perfect opportunity to build your confidence and get helpful tips. Visit the Caravan and Motorhome Club (stands 3-15 and 3-17) to book your session. A full UK driving licence card will be required. Spaces are limited, so book early.
The Camping and Caravanning Club have teamed up with Lookers Volvo Stockport to offer FREE one-to-one tuition on how to tow a touring caravan safely, efficiently and economically. If you are a new comer to the hobby then this is a great opportunity to build your confidence.
The Caravan and Motorhome Club experts will be offering FREE sessions on how to hitch-up a tow car and take a test drive in one of their recommended vehicles at the show. Open to both experienced caravanners and first timers, simply visit stands 3-15 and 3-17 to book your free 20 minute tow car taster session.

My First Towing Experience
Bringing together leading travel personalities and expert cooks, the Food & Travel Stage brought to you by Viking will teach you how to prepare and cook some of their favourite campsite dishes. You can also enjoy exotic cultural displays and performances set to inspire your next holiday adventures. The Food & Travel stage is located in Hall 4.
Driven by Peg Perego, Swift and The Camping & Caravanning Club, kids from 3 – 10 can take a spin round our track to have a go at manoeuvring their caravan, just like mum and dad! Once they have completed their session, little ones will receive a certificate proving they are a qualified towing expert. You can find My First Towing Experience in Hall 3 of the show.

OUR FAVOURITE CAMPERVAN RECIPES Picture this: You’re in your caravan, camper, motorhome or tent and you just don’t know what to cook! After rustling around for what seems like an eternity in the same cupboards and bags, you eventually decide that the good old beans on toast will just have to do tonight. But what about tomorrow night? Is it time to try something new? Is it time to get those taste buds dancing?
Hot Basil Beef
Serves 4 Prep 30 mins
TIP! Serve with cucumber
This Asian-inspired dish is simply delicious and super easy to prepare.
HERE‘S WHAT YOU NEED: • 300g rice
• 4 tbsp oyster sauce
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 4 tsp fish sauce
• 2 onions
• ½ tsp soy sauce
• 4 cloves of garlic
• 30g fresh basil
• 2 chilli peppers
• 1 tsp sugar
• 300g minced beef
We have compiled just a few truly scrummy recipes from ACSI, the Dutch campsite connoisseurs and our event partners, as well as Ali Ray, The Camping and Caravanning Club Eat Local Ambassador. Ready, steady, cook!
AND HERE‘S HOW YOU MAKE IT: • Cook the rice according to the instructions on the packet • Heat the olive oil in a pan • Chop the onion into small pieces, crush and finely chop the garlic and chilli pepper • Add the garlic once the oil is warm, and then add the minced beef to the pan
• Stir regularly until the minced beef is cooked through • Then add the onion and the chilli pepper • To finish, add a splash of water, together with the oyster sauce, fish sauce and the soy sauce • Stir well, and then add the basil and the sugar • Serve with the rice

OUR FAVOURITE CAMPERVAN RECIPES
Turkey Winter One Pot
Serves 4 Prep 40 mins
A lovely warming winter dish using fresh turkey breast but equally delicious using cooked turkey!
Strawberry Pudding
Serves 4 Prep 40 mins
Feeling adventurous this month, I baked a cake in a frying pan on my barbecue.
HERE‘S WHAT YOU NEED:
HERE‘S WHAT YOU NEED:
• 400g turkey breast
• Fresh spinach
• 100g of butter, melted
• Greaseproof paper
• 1 chopped red onion
• Salt & pepper
• 125g sugar
• Tin foil
• 2 crushed garlic cloves • Sloe gin (optional)
• 8 strawberries sliced
• Tomato puree
• Stock cubes
• 1 egg
• 200g pitted prunes
To serve:
• 100g flour
This recipe is designed for a 16cm frying pan or four Cadac tapas dishes
• 1 tsp tumeric
• 200g couscous
• 1/2 tsp coriander
• Olive oil
• 1/2 tsp ginger
• Pomegranate seeds
• 1/2 tsp cinnamon
• Fresh herbs
AND HERE‘S HOW YOU MAKE IT: • Heat a splash of oil in a pan • Add chopped onion and cook gently over a low heat • Add garlic, tumeric, coriander, ginger and cinnamon • Add turkey and brown gently • Add 2 tablespoons of tomato puree • Add stock. Put lid on and cook for 15-20 minutes
• Add a couple of handfuls of fresh spinach and the pitted prunes and a splash of sloe gin if using • Cook for a further 5 minutes • Put the couscous in a bowl, add a crumbled stock cube and mix through • Cover with boiling water and leave to stand for 5 minutes • Stir though a little oil, fresh herbs and pomegranate seeds
AND HERE‘S HOW YOU MAKE IT: • Grease the frying pan with butter and put a circle of greaseproof paper into the bottom. Lay the sliced strawberries across the bottom of the pan • In the bowl with the melted butter, put the sugar, flour and egg and beat it all together with a fork to make a thick batter. If the batter is too thick to drop off a spoon, add a splash of milk to loosen it • Pour this on top of the strawberries, keeping it a few millimetres from the edge of the pan • Seal a square of foil over the pan and make
a couple of slits in the top for the steam to get out • Cook this over a low heat for 20 minutes, although check after 10 • After this time the batter should have almost set completely. To finish off the bottom of the cake, invert the pan using a plate and slide the cake straight back into the pan to finish cooking on the bottom • After two minutes, tip the cake back out on to a plate • Leave for 5 minutes to cool before slicing

The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways run through the very heart of the Snowdonia National Park, with its stunning mixture of mountains, lakes, forests and coastline.
