In this case, it was during a quick, but grumpy, trip to London Drugs Computer department I overheard someone in the parking lot yelling to someone else: “There’s Nothing To Be Grateful For In This World!” It was a higher male voice, so I thought “There’s another spoiled early teenager about to go into a tantrum.” I have to admit, it was one of those grey and wet days, my laptop had crashed, I had a springtime farming to-do list a mile long that wasn’t getting done so, in that moment, I wanted to agree with him but only for a second or two. It turns what we have into enough, and much more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity. I can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Can I Make A Claim if I Am Injured On Or By An Electric Bike, Scooter, Or Skateboard?

There are many ways to get around, including electric bikes, scooters, and skateboards. People using these forms of transportation are particularly vulnerable to serious injury — a major accident could leave a rider with bone fractures, an injury to the spinal cord, or a brain injury. https://simpsonthomas.com/what-is-a-brain-injury/ Car accident lawyers are often asked about injury claims arising from electric bike, scooter, or skateboard accidents. Is it possible to make a claim if you are injured on or by an electric bike, scooter, or skateboard? Injuries Arising From Accidents Involving E-bikes, Scooters, Or Skateboards It is possible to make a claim if you are injured in an accident on an electric bike, scooter, or skateboard, and it may also be possible to make a claim if you were injured in an accident caused by the operator of an electric bike, scooter or skateboard.

PAGE 8

In fact, you may be eligible for more than one type of claim, depending on the circumstances of the accident that brought about your injuries:

• An ICBC Part 7 benefits claim (also known as a “no-fault” claim). In many cases, injured parties are entitled to make a claim for no-fault benefits under Part 7 of BC’s Insurance (Vehicle) Regulation, regardless of who was at fault for the accident. • If you are injured in an accident involving a motor vehicle, even if you were wholly or partially responsible for causing the accident, you can claim Part 7 benefits to cover your medical and rehabilitation expenses, wage loss and disability benefits, housekeeping benefits, and death benefits, up to certain limits, provided that you meet the definition of an “insured.”

licence, own a car registered in BC, or live with someone who does, you are eligible to claim for Part 7 coverage against that policy. If none of those situations apply to you, but you were injured in an accident that arose out of “the use or operation of a motor vehicle” (e.g., a collision between an electric bicycle and a car), you can claim for Part 7 benefits against the insurance policy of the driver of the car involved in the accident (or for hit and run accident coverage if the driver is unidentifiable).

• A personal injury claim (also known as a “tort claim”). In an accident involving an e-bike, scooter, or skateboard and another motor vehicle, the accident victim can claim for personal injury compensation from the at-fault party.

sible for the accident, the rider of the electric bicycle can bring a tort claim against the negligent driver for compensation for pain and suffering, past and future wage loss, and other types of damages. If the rider can establish • The definition of an “insured” • For example, if a distracted the driver’s negligence, he or she can who is entitled to Part 7 coverage is driver was wholly or partially respon- recover damages from the driver’s quite broad. vehicle insurance policy. If the rider bears some fault for the accident (for example, because he or she was operating a motorized scooter or motorized skateboard on a BC road or sidewalk adjacent to a road), or some responsibility for the injuries sustained (for example, by failing to wear a helmet), his or her compensation will be reduced based on the apportionment of fault. • What if the accident was entirely the fault of the operator of the e-bike, scooter, or skateboard, or if the accident was between two riders of electronic bicycles, scooters, or

skateboards? ICBC does not require operators of such “low-powered vehicles” to carry third party liability coverage. In these situations, it is worth exploring other sources of insurance coverage, such as the at-fault operator’s tenant or home insurance. Depending on where and how the accident occurred (e.g., a skatepark, a driveway of a home, a parking lot), there may also be a claim against a private property owner, commercial property owner, or municipality. Coverage and claim eligibility in this area is complex. If you have been injured in an accident involving an electric bicycle, scooter, or skateboard, the best course of action is to discuss your options for compensation with a top car accident lawyer.

The legal team at Simpson, Thomas & Associates has extensive experience handling claims arising from all types of accidents, including electric bicycle, scooter, and skateboard accidents. We represent clients who have sustained all manner of injuries, ranging from soft tissue injuries, to spinal cord injuries, fractured bones, and traumatic brain injury. Tiger Shroff completes 6 years since he made his debut with Heropanti

Tiger Shroff is the youngest action star and has attained enormous fame, admiration, and appreciation in his journey in Bollywood. The actor has completed 6 glorious years since his debut in Heropanti! Ever since his debut, the path of the actor has always been illuminated by the light of fame and admiration his massive fandom has shined upon him.Heropanti was a romantic action film which first saw Tiger delve into his power-packed heated action scenes where he first won the hearts of the audience. After Heropanti came to the screens the first part of Tiger's most acclaimed action franchise 'Baaghi' which shattered records at the box office. Progressively, Baaghi 2 did even better than it's predecessor, crunching up more numbers in box office and Tiger's performance in the film was larger than life and received a lot of critical acclaim. The film was recently released on OTT where it emerged successfully as well all owing to Tiger's stunningly performed action scenes. The actor's 2019 action film WAR was the highest-grosser of 2019 and collected over 300 crores during its box office run. Speaking about his upcoming projects in a

Whenever I feel low, I just look back at where I started from : Esha Gupta Bollywood actress Esha Gupta made her acting debut with Mahesh Bhatt's Jannat 2 opposite Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. The actress has a lot of successful films to her name like Rustom, Baadshaho and Total Dhamaal. In a recent interview, Gupta opened up about her film choices and the low phase in her career. Speaking the Rustom actress said, "By God's grace, every time I have a low, like a lot of

recent interview with a leading magazine, Tiger shared "I'm looking forward to starting shooting for Heropanti 2, which was already on the cards before the lockdown began. We've been conducting meetings to discuss work on upcoming projects via Skype and Zoom calls on a regular basis. We will start shooting once everything is back to normal and it's safe for everyone to get back to work."

Don't have any family member with me; It's just me and my house help at home : Yami Gautam The fear of uncertainty has hit everyone hard as the world has come to a standstill due to the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Actress Yami Gautam says she doesn't know when film shoots will resume because even after the lockdown is lifted, it doesn't look like COVID-19 will be contained. How does she see the future of the entertainment industry post-pandemic and in what ways will the industry change? "Budgets are going to be reworked. Already the proposed films that most of us were to be part of, are looking at reworked budgets

and mediums, with theatres being shut and with no idea when they'll open. Of course, the mid-budget films have an opportunity to opt for digital platforms," Yami said. She says she is only being offered work that is set for the web space. "Films are coming my way with the proposal that it's for the digital platform. This shift is already happening. We don't know when we're going to resume shooting because even after the lockdown is lifted, it doesn't look like the coronavirus will be contained," she said.

Personal life experience reflects in my 'Ghoomketu' act : Nawazuddin Siddiqui

National Award-winning actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui collaborates once again with Anurag Kashyap in the new digital film "Ghoomketu", but this time the equation is more than just actor-filmmaker. Although Nawaz stars in the comic drama and Anurag's banner has co-produced it, this time the filmmaker also plays a pivotal role -- as a corrupt cop. "I have been working with Anurag for so long and we are together on this journey. But on a film set, our equation is that of director and actor. In this film, for the first time, he was my co-actor, and in my head, I was wondering when he would say ‘cut'! Because that is what I am used to. In my head, he is the director (laughs But yes, as a co-actor also he is good. We enjoyed working together in the film,"

Nawazuddin said. The actor has been collaborating with Anurag since 2007, when Anurag's "Black Friday" released, followed by several films including "Dev.D", the "Gangs Of Wasseypur" franchise, "Raman Raghav 2.0", and the web series "Sacred Games" to name a few."Ghoomketu" is directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra, and the film also features Ragini Khanna, Raghubir Yadav, Ila Arun, and Swanand Kirkire among others.Nawazuddin shared: "Raghu bhai is an actor we looked up to. This was the first time we worked together but he is such an unstoppable actor! He keeps improvising and at times the director would come and tell Raghu bhai to stop! But seriously, he is a talented actor who can create a piece of art out of two lines! His ability to improvise mindblowing.

actors have in their career, I just look back at where I started from. I did not have a Godfather, I did not have anyone, I don't think there's anyone remotely related to us (her family) form this industry, we don't even know anyone, like not even say a singer who's in the industry. And I'm a believer and when I look back and see the number of girls and guys who come everyday to Mumbai to try and make it in the industry, I'm like, 'God, wow...I'm fortunate!'". She also spoke about the abysmal critical and commercial reception of Humshakals. "The film had released in 2013, but it's still a part of my career, a part of my journey. I'm not ashamed of doing it or any film for that matter. I don't want to say, 'Oh...I wish I didn't do it because everything make you who you are, right? I mean, you learn from your mistakes, you fall and that's what I've learned from being an athlete all my life. The thing is if I'm not first, not second, not third, I'll still be somewhere, and that's what makes you an athlete — it just always give you that hope of you now going to be better. And that's what you need to do — just be better. Just that desire of being a better version of myself has got me this far", she added. On the work front, Esha will be making her digital debut with the role of a police officer in REJCTX2. Esha will be playing the role of a Singaporean police officer. The second season of the series, directed and produced by Goldie Behl, promises to be high on action and drama. The show will also feature Masi Wali, Anisha Victor, Saadhika Syal, Ayush Khurana, Ridhi Khakhar, Prabhneet Singh, Pooja Shetty and Tanvi Shinde besides Esha and Sumeet Vyas

I understand what it takes to be a new mom : Sameera Reddy

Actress Sameera Reddy, a mother of two, says she understands what it takes to be a new mother, especially during this difficult time. The actress, who has worked in films like Race, Musafir, and Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, gave birth to Hans in 2015 and welcomed Nyra in July last year."Every time I look at my baby girl, I feel a sense of joy and optimism. There are so many stories that I will be telling her about the unconditional love and efforts that doctors, nurses, police forces, and the community at large are putting in to ensure our safety and protection," she said."I understand what it takes to be a new mother, especially during this time. I have always championed that we mothers are imperfectly perfect --- the ups and downs, constant worry, disconnection, these feelings are normal and I am confident that we will come out

stronger," she added.Diapers brand Pampers' new film Welcome To The World struck a chord with her. "There is so much beauty and love present in our world today. This is the start of something new and truly is the best time to be born," said Sameera. Building on the insight that no matter the uncertainty that surrounds her, a mother is engulfed with hope and a deep sense of positivity when she holds her baby for the very first time, the film shares a mother's wish for her child during this time of uncertainty.

ford’s first ‘Pet Parade’ scheduled for July 1st. The City is asking Abbotsford residents to submit a short video clip or photo of their pets for the Pet Parade. There will be prizes for best dressed, most original pet, and crowd favourite!

This virtual celebration will be made possible with generous support from our sponsors and partners, including Prospera Credit Union who have contributed to Canada Day for the past twelve years. Support is also provided from the Government of Canada through Canadian Heritage, Unitech Construction Management, The Abbotsford News and The Patrika.

Every year the City of Abbotsford has a new Canada Day theme and artwork to go along with it. In the spirit of celebrating community, the City is calling all Abbotsford artists to help design the 2021 Canada Day theme and artwork. Abbotsford residents will have until June 15th to submit their theme idea and accompanied art wordmark. Then for the entire month of July the community will be voting on their favourite submission. The winning submission theme will help shape next year’s Canada Day Parade and Family Festival; while the art wordmark will be featured on all Canada Day marketing material, electronic community signs, and the T-shirts!

Community zones, created by Abbotsford partners, will feature engaging videos and activities for the entire family. From learning how to shoot hoops with pro-basketball players, reading Canadian stories with Abbotsford heroes, to online fitness videos, and scavenger hunts – there will be hours Submissions for the Pet Parade and of fun and learning to be had! Theme contest can be submitted unThis year’s Canada Day parade will til June 15th at www.abbotsford.ca/ also look a little different with Abbots- canadaday

There can be some good news or opportunities connected to finances. Things are moving into a busier stage to late May where you can re-establish contact with friends or a group of people in either a work or personal situation. You won’t feel completely freed up but things will steadily head in that direction to late June.

Decide what you want or need to be committed to when it comes to long-term plans. There could be a need to return to the past in some way. This will most likely be connected to finances and require your attention to late May. There can be a change to what needs to be your priorities. Utilise who you know to get ahead.

Mercury, your ruling planet, moves into your sign this week where it will remain until 29th May. That held back feeling from late April, will begin to ease. Social activity will slowly begin to return to normal with Venus turning around in your sign until 25th June. You could also be mentally clearer on what you should focus on.

Difficulty in gaining clarity on the true intentions of somebody else could suddenly become clearer and this could be from information passed on by another person. It would be wise to contemplate your position until late May because there are other things that will have a way of turning themselves around outside of your control.

Actions that other people have taken that may have affected your work since late April will now go through change, giving you greater flexibility to late May. This will come with the support of others. Involvement with a group of people in either a personal or work situation will continue to turn around up to late June. Be patient.

You can put the final touches on anything you have been diligently working on since late March as you prepare yourself to be busily in contact with others, one way or another until late June. If you feel there are commitments that need to be changed, focus on this until late May. Look cautiously into any new obligations presented.

A much better view of the future should begin to emerge, giving you a good perspective until late May on plans you can make for the future. You have had time to consider all sorts of options since early April and you might be surprised to find that staying with something you have known in the past will appeal the most.

You can be dealing with some very firm opinions when it comes to others and perhaps things you have put in place. Being too forceful with your ideas will not work – it will drive them to become secretive. They need to see that you are willing to compromise. This is the only way they will accept what you have structured.

You can come out of hibernation and get back to some normal activity with other people. There will be much to communicate about to late May and this can include turning something around to get back to some normality by late June. Whatever you have been thinking about putting in place since late March should be worked on too

Life can be busy with a lot more running around or the need to get in touch from now to late June. There will be a lot of work to do that involves detail to late May. You can also begin to get back to some normal routines – this will continue through to late June. It could bring an abrupt end to any recent opportunity to rest more.

You can gain clear insight into what you should develop in your life in a more serious manner from next year onwards that would result in greater pleasure. From now to late June you can review what you have enjoyed in the past and want to continue with but also include some alternatives that would provide greater interest.

Mars moves into your sign this week where it will remain until 28th June. This creates the beginning of a new 2 year cycle. Your energy level should pick up as well as your self-confidence. This corresponds with having alternative ideas to late May with what you want to put into place and returning some things to normal again.

"WE ARE CANADA"

Eugene Reimer Mrs. Nerlap Kaur Grade Seven Class Completes a Top Secret Community Project: "WE ARE CANADA" Since September 2019, students in Mrs. Sidhu's class at Eugene Reimer Middle School have been working on creating a web page and short video that is filled with I am statements and images from students, parents, police officers, RCMP officers, fire fighters and community members from across Canada. We have someone representing each region. This video project allowed students to define what it means to be Canadian in 2020 using the thier perspectives and voices. All submissions were received in February of this year. Over the months of March and April 2020, the Eugene Reimer Middle School student leaders led the production of the video with the help of a former student,Gurman Sidhu of Peakproductions. This video is in the editing stages and will be revealed in early May 2020.

We are happy to share that we received over 200 submissions from across Canada including all provinces and territories. The schools from across Canada that participated include Gobind Sarvar Calgary Alberta, Bishop James Mahoney High School SK, Mildred Hall School NWT, Cantebury High School NB, Gobind Sarvar Brampton Ont., Ecole Stanley Knowles Manitoba, Sacred Hearts School NFLD, and Umimmak School Nunavat. Along with these schools we had many parents and community members participate including Mayor Braun, police from ville de Gatineau QC, RCMP from N.S., OPP from Ontario, Winnipeg police, Fredricton NB fire and police, PEI fire officers, Brampton Ontario fire officers, Yukon Dawson City fire fighters, Calgary AB police, and Saskatoon Police SK. Eugene Reimer Middle School Student Message:

Grade 7 student from Mrs. Sidhu’s class Simar Judge shares that “To me, this means that not everyone can be themself in front of others and it is okay if it takes time to be you.”

Ashleen Dhugga, a Eugene Reimer Student, says “It shows that no matter what your job is you can save and protect wildlife too.”

PAGE 34

Gurkaran Jhinger, a grade 7 student from Eugene Reimer Middle School, says that “This teaches me that I can do a lot more than just one thing in life. I admire Mr. Levings because he loves to take care of kids and I learned that taking care of people and not being mean is a really a good thing. This message of caring for the community is spot on for this pandemic because a lot of people are having a hard time nowadays so it's good to be nice. Finally there are a lot of ways to lead and I feel inspired to be just like my principal and give back in many ways.

A community is a group of people living in the same place and having particular characteristics in common. As students our goal for the Eugene Reimer Middle School "We Are Canada" project was to have students across Canada recognize a bit of themselves in each other and in our community members. We are proud to share that this project connects and strengthens relationships between school, home and community. We wrote "I am" statements by reflecting on and asking ourselves the most difficult questions. Who Am I? and What do I stand for? This reflective process was authentic, meaningful and helped us understand who we are and what we stand for. With so many community members involved in this project, we feel inspired, committed, and empowered to build a stronger Canada. A special thank you to all students, teachers, parents, administrators, organizations and community members for participating. This video is dedicated to all essential workers

As a school with over 600 students Mr.Lan leaving and Mrs.Nerlap Kaur Sidhu have created a incredible learning environment for reimer students especially during this new virtual teaching reality. Video: https://youtu.be/5jgdYBbV5Ak

~ Together we are Canada~ Sincerely, Mrs. Nerlap Kaur Sidhu's Grade Seven Class Principal's Message: We are proud of the work our students have done around personal and cultural identity formation and their drive to continue to strengthen our community. By reading the "I am" statements of students, parents and community members, we hope you gain a deeper sense of who we are as Canadians. ~Mr. Ian Levings, Proud Principal of Eugene Reimer Middle School, Abbotsford B.C.

Brandon Yuzon, a 12-year-old Eugene Reimer Middle School student shared that “This I am statement connected with me because it reminds me of my dad. He’s a frontline worker in the hospital and he's always at risk every day. He sacrifices his time away from family and his health to provide service to others.”

I am strong. I am fit. I am proud to be part of Nova Scotia RCMP Muskaan Bains, a grade 7 student from Mrs. Sidhu’s class states that she learned that you should always be proud of who you are and what you stand for. This also reminds me to always believe in yourself and never give up. Most importantly we must find a way to serve our community no matter what occupation you are in.

Jashan Deva, a Eugene Reimer Student, states “It means that family is super important and that we need to take care of our elders. Also our grandparents are proud of us and we are lucky to have grandparents and can learn a lot of life lessons from them. During COVID 19 we need to especially take care of our elders.”

Armaan Sahota, a student from Eugene Reimer Middle School, says “It teaches me that it's okay to be a boy with long hair and that boys can have long hair too and that there is nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone is different in some way.”

Gurjot Toor, a Eugene Reimer Middle School student, states “This picture shows that this Aboriginal boy wants to clean the land we rest on. I chose this picture because it reflects our needs to acknowledge the land that we are on and take care of it.

John karl It teaches us to always have fun no matter what. It applies to me because I like to have fun. I picked this because I liked it. It’s important because it reminds you to have fun. It brings us together.

"WE ARE CANADA" Arsh Toor, a Eugene Reimer Middle school student, said that this applies to her life because she really wants to help people in need and make their lives back to normal so they can live the best life ever. It helps us as Canadians because there are so many of us and everybody can always use a helping hand from someone else. Ashleen Dhugga, from Mrs.Sidhu’s grade 7 class, said that it taught her that she should help people when she can. It's also important during this pandemic because we need to help each other get through this. It connected with her because I have a family members that are nurses or doctors.

I am a thirteen-year-old boy who is determined to learn new things. Muneet Lidder a Eugene Reimer student said, “we must remain determined to learn new things especially during this pandemic because we need to really be united and determined to find a vaccine for the virus. It helps us as Canadians because it inspires us to learn new things and be determined to achieve new things.

Aishmeen Sidhu, a grade 7 student from Mrs.Sidhu’s class I learned life isn’t perfect sometimes and that is normal. No one has a perfect life. This statement connected with me becauase I'm quiet on the outside too. I liked that it said life isn’t perfect because our lives aren’t perfect right now with online school and we can’t go outside as much because of the coronavirus pandemic. I am quiet on the outside and I understand life can't be perfect. It reminds me to be grateful for what I do have and to concentrate on the things I have in my life.”

Kavan Kaur, a Eugene Reimer grade 7 student, said it helps us Canadians because nurses are helping us stay safe all around Canada and the world. It's important during this pandemic because they are the ones who are risking their lives and helping save people's lives from COVID 19 and we should respect and honour the nurses at this time for their bravery.

I am a Punjabi girl who loves adventures and understands life is a mystery.

I am a kid that dreams to be the best soccer player in the world and secretly cries for starving children.

Ashleen Dhugga, a proud student from Mrs.Sidhu’s class said it taught her that we can always have adventures and that's important because what's life without adventure.

Muneet Lidder, a Eugene Reimer student said this motivates her to achieve my dreams and makes her feel sympathetic towards people who do not have their essential needs meet.

Dihn a student from Mrs. Sidhu’s grade 7 class said he learned that nurses do care about others and they will make time for you. We should appreciate that they put their lives at risk to help others with the virus and put them at risk of getting it.

I am a strong mother who believes in self-care.

Oliver Gust, a Eugene Reimer student, states “I learned that we should be reasonably hopeful that good things are coming even if things are looking bad. This doesn’t apply much to me physically but, this applies to me mentally in a way because she is hopeful and thinks positively about the future. I can connect to her in the way that I try to be “excited” for the next day while she is excited for the light after the long darkness. I chose this because it is a unique concept on what this Inuk girl would be hopeful about. This is important because people should be more hopeful in both life, and during these times with COVID-19. It helps us Canadians because it would motivate others to be again, more hopeful and happy in life as much as possible.” Gracie Shields, a Eugene Reimer student, says “It taught me that determination is the key to a team and I choose this photo because I thought it was meaningful beacuse I think with a team you can do things better and faster because you have more brains working on one thing .”

Tej Kaur a grade 7 student from Eugene Reimer said he admires this because it shows him that you should work hard. This message is important nowadays because you need to keep yourself healthy because you can’t go outside as often and can’t go to the gym like before due to COVID 19.

Nishan Deol, a student from Mrs.Sidhu’s class, shares “I learned that the girl in this picture is trying to change the world and I want to help her. It applies to my life because a lot of people want to change the world but this girl wants to play and change the world. It connects with me because sometimes I plan to change the world too and now I could see that someone else wants to do it too. I picked it because it stood out to me and it connected with me really well. It is important because this girl has two dreams and both of them are really hard and she actually cares about the world and she is passionate to play on team Canada. It is important in this pandemic because these were the dreams of the girl and she can’t complete them during this hard time. It helps as Canadians because she is a Canadian and she is trying to change the world and she is proof that Canadians care about the world.”

Ekamjot Malhi, a grade 7 student from Mrs.Sidhu’s class, states “ I like this picture because she knows that some people can’t change. I appreciate her understanding as she calls herself imperfect she understands that everybody can't be perfect in everything and that is ok. We are all learning at differeent rates and on lifes journey”

I am a 5-year-old boy who understands that together we are stronger. Simrat Jhinger, a student from Mrs.Sidhu’s class, says she learned that if we are together, we can do anything if we unite. This applies to her life because in group projects or in life if she has a problem and she shares it with others and we get together and come up with a better solution. It connected with her because this is someone younger who has shared a wise message. This message just touched her heart and just connected with Simrat. She picked it because for someone younger who thinks this it is just awesome. It is important because if people know that together we are strong people will start sharing their problems more. If we share our troubles then we can come up with more solutions together. It is important during this pandemic because we are all in this together and we will find a cure and help the doctors by staying home. JohnKarl Mauricio, a student from Mrs.Sidhu’s class, shares that “I learned that the world isn’t fair to many people. It applies to my life to how Asian stereotypes are something that people do believe are real facts. It connects with me by knowing that the world isn’t fair sometimes. I picked this because I know it’s true and I was a part of this picture. This statement is important because it is unfair for the elderly to die from COVID 19.”

Grishma Bhela, a grade 7 student, shares “This tells me that Abbotsford is in good hands and that I am safe here in Abbotsford the police officers work fiercely to keep us safe. I choose this picture because I think it's nice of the police officers to serve us and it inspires me to help my community.”
