However, they are not interested in humans, pets and large animals. Asian giant hornets hunt insects for food and will attack people only when their nest is disturbed.

What is Diwali? (From CBC Kids) Diwali (say “deVAH-lee”) is a holiday celebrated around the world that got its start in India. It’s a harvest festival, but it's also an important religious celebration for Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. Even people who don’t belong to those three religions celebrate Diwali in India and other places in south Asia. It’s like Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve combined! A festival of lights Diwali is called the festival of lights! Rows of lamps are lit inside and outside homes and buildings for the holiday. Imagine how bright that must be! These lamps are called deepavali (say “deep-a-vallee”), which is where we get the word Diwali. The lights line the street and even are floated down rivers on little boats. Nowadays the traditional small lamps are joined by electric light displays and LEDs. All these lights represent the triumph of light over dark and the power of good over evil.

In the Hindu religion it’s also a time to honour the gods and goddesses, especially the goddess Lakshmi, who is believed to step inside your home if it is clean (wait, does that mean I should tidy my room?). In Jainism, Diwali marks the nirvana, or spiritual awakening, of Lord Mahavira on October 15, 527 B.C.; in Sikhism, it honors the day that Guru Hargobind Ji, the Sixth Sikh Guru, was freed from imprisonment. Buddhists in India celebrate Diwali as well. In Sikhism, When is it? Diwali is always in October or November. This year it’s starting on Thursday, November 12th and goes for five days. The main celebrations happen on the darkest night of the festival — this year that's on Saturday, November 14th. The five days of Diwali

ally a shopping day, especially for gold or silver. The second day is used to decorate the home. Eugene Reimer Middle School Students Deliver over 250 Cookies as a Random Act of Kindness to all 46 Schools in Abbotsford District The classroom was buzzing with positivity and the students said the highlight of this project was making video messages of thanks, packing cookies and designing cards to say "Thanks". Grade 6 Eugene Reimer Middle School students decided as a class to send a suprise thanks to the office staff, custodians, and administrative teams for their leadership and service to community, especially during the pandemic. On Wednesday November 4th students from Mrs. Sidhu's, Mrs. Sangha's and Mr. Hirschmans' grade 6 classes with the help of teachers and principal Ian Levings delivered over 250 cookies as a sign of appreciation to 46 schools . The schools included every elementary school, 8 middle schools, and every high school in Abbotsford. These grade 6 students are new to middle school and are just getting to know each other yet they came together around an act of kindness as agents of change to build community during a pandemic year. Student spent a lot of time figuring out how to make this Random Act of Kindness possible during the "new normal" at school. They increased their sense

of belonging, strengthened their leadership and communication skills. Over 46 gift bags were delivered with messages of thanks and cookies that had a personal message on them to communicate their thanks to the office staff, custodians, and administrative teams for caring about students. Students created a video to say thanks as well since they could not deliver the cookies in person. Eugene Reimer students continue to make a difference. A special thanks to Pam MacGregor for baking these amazing cookies ! Staples donated printing for this RAK. A very special thanks to stellar Eugene Reimer Staff for delivering all the cookies! please check youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnk1bUes3k4&feature=youtu.be

We all had such a great time making Vidya Balan's short film eligible for Oscar nomination Golmaal 3 : Kunal Kemmu

The third instalment of the Golmaal franchise directed by Rohit Shetty released 10 years ago. Actor Kunal Kemmu, who played Laxman in the movie, reminisced about shooting for the film and said that he really enjoys comedy."'Golmaal 3' has been such a special film for me and the amount of love I've received from the audiences for my role has been overwhelming," Kunal said. The 2010 release also starred Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Ratna Pathak Shah and Mithun Chakraborty.Kunal shared that he loves the comedy genre. "I really enjoy doing comedy and it's always nice to make people laugh and give them feel-good content. Even till today, people give 'Golmaal 3' the same amount of love and I'm really happy about it. We all had such a great time making this film," he said. Kunal was recently seen in the digitally-released heist comedy "Lootcase". He was also seen in the second season of the thriller web-series "Abhay".

Natkhat, starring and co-produced by Vidya Balan, has won top prize at the third edition of Best Of India Short Film Festival 2020, which makes it eligible for Oscar nomination. "In a year that has been turbulent, it feels great to win the first award for our film that leads the way directly to Oscar qualification. This film is incredibly close to me since it gave me a chance to play the dual roles of actor and producer," said Vidya.Vidya, who turned producer with the film, plays a homemaker in a patriarchal setup."Even in these times, creativity and content have found ways to thrive and travel. Through innovation and technology international festivals and platforms have continued to advance and bridge the gaps in new and disruptive ways. We are thrilled to have won the festival and are eligible for Oscar 2021 qualification. Onward, together Vidya and I hope to bring home an Oscar," coproducer Ronnie Screwvala said.

Richa Chadha on learning Urdu for Lahore Conspiracy: This shoot was fulfilling

Getting back on set is one of the most enjoyable times for actors these days. The seven-month hiatus has been hard on most of them after their choc-a-bloc schedules came to a grinding halt due to the ongoing pandemic. Thus, when a start-to-finish schedule was lined up for her upcoming project in Lucknow, Richa Chadha was more than thrilled to get back to work. Helmed by Kunal Kohli, Lahore Conspiracy is said to be a thrilling love story of two spies. The Zee5 film revolves around a divorced Indian woman, her love for Urdu literature, and a call of duty in Pakistan that will change her life as she knows it. Talking about her project, Chadha tells mid-day, "I was kicked when I heard the story and learned that I am to play an undercover agent. Lahore Conspiracy is an entertaining film that carries a potent message. We had a great time shooting it." Staying true to her style, the actor spent considerable time working on talaffuz (Urdu pronunciation) for the character. Chadha, who enjoys shayari, has read the works of Mirza Ghalib, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Basheer Badr, Chakbast, among others. But for the film, the Fukrey actor is widening her interests. Though her character in the movie doesn't speak Urdu, there is a lehja (manner of speaking), which she sought to perfect during the filming. The producers even hired a diction expert from Lucknow to help the cast pronounce words accurately. Chadha explains, "It's essential to stay authentic to the role. As actors, it is primarily our job to perfect every element of our character. I am glad this film allows me the opportunity. Exploring languages, places, and culture is the most thrilling aspect of being an actor. Every day is a learning experience and this shoot, drenched in old-world nostalgia, was fulfilling."

You can begin a steady movement forward this week as Mars, your ruling planet, begins to move forward after having been retrograde since 10th September. It has likely generated some frustration in this time but also encouraged you to correct matters. Interactions with others or the position they hold can become clearer.

Communication with others can become more significant from now to early December. Something can be finalised that may have been started in October but got nowhere. You are now in a better position to have your priorities taken into account than previously. There can be genuine interest in your future goals.

If you feel something is too much to handle or that too much is expected of you, there is the perfect opportunity to sort this out once and for all, from now to early December. You will need to put consistent effort into it. This will be the only way you will convince other people that you are serious. Then you will have to stick to it.

The ability to take a balanced position when it comes to commitments that are worthwhile or those you wish to handle, is in play this week. Other people can be open to any creative ideas you put forward from now to early December. You should not hold back when it comes to anything you want to discuss either.

You could begin to either see results or what is possible in the future with something important to you personally where you set out in a new direction 2 years ago. Progress can be made from now to early January. It will require you to put your mind to establishing a solid underlying foundation to build upon to early December.

Definite decision making, particularly on any matter you may have tried to be final about in October will now be possible to early December. This may not alleviate somebody else pushing for what they want. You are in a good position to take a risk with whatever you feel will work. If you don’t try, you will never know.

A turning point on the part of somebody else can be a relief to you, leaving you in a position to be able to establish greater balance in your own circumstances. You need to encourage them to move forward in their own way. Focus on your finances and anything that wasn’t fully sorted in October will be the case to early December.

Mercury, the planet of thought and communication, moves back into your own sign where it will remain until 2nd December. This is giving you the opportunity to make some final decisions and move forward with any matter affecting you personally. Don’t be distracted by anything going on behind the scenes. Focus on you.

Greater clarity on what your priorities need to be will now require you to focus from now to early December on what you need to let go. You can realise that you will be freer to move forward in your own creative way, though that doesn’t need to be done in a hurry. There can still be things to surface, so have some patience.

It is back to focussing on your priorities from now to early December after initial considerations in October. Better opportunities may present themselves now. You might have changed your mind in some way as well. Greater confidence should now be present to put matters in place, knowing that you can move forward with them.

Make definite decisions when it comes to commitments you are prepared to take on. This does not mean you have to agree with what is expected. You have had plenty of time since mid September to consider your options and gather any information necessary. This can have a lot to do with major new cycles you will enter just before Christmas.

Directions you can take in the future will have a more positive feel attached to them from now to early December. You may have tried without complete success during October. There was something to learn but now you a free to move forward. Greater insight or clarity can arise when it comes to what should take priority.

studded with nuts, an ideal portfolio balance will be different for everyone. First, a bit about the fruitcake tradition. In medieval England, Christmas (plum) pudding originated as a boiled concoction that contained raisins, other dried fruit, eggs, suet, treacle or molasses, and sweet spices like cinnamon and ginger.

Not much later, a surplus of sugar led to the practice of candying fruit to preserve it, and soon glacé fruit become the rage in British fruitcake. And that practice of dousing fruitcake with a good glug of brandy, rum or whisky became another way to keep cakes fresh for longer. Your portfolio can benefit from inherited wisdom, too. For example, maximizing yields while minimizing risks is a truth your grandmother might have passed down with her recipes, although exactly how to get there can be less obvious. Tradition might suggest a mix of fixed-income investments, stocks and cash, but how that aligns with your individual goals or aversion to risk is up to you. Consider your own needs just as you would your taste in desserts. If you're a young investor, perhaps you're more comfortable with taking on added risk with the hope of greater rewards and extra time to make up for downturns. More mature investors who are closer to retirement may well prefer to take on less risk, opting instead to make safety a bigger priority. No matter your risk tolerance, exploring your options can be a great learning opportunity. Bake that cake, balance your portfolio and enjoy the holidays.

THIS YEAR LET’S CELEBRATE IN A COVID-19-SAFE WAY. Here are some tips on how to honour Diwali and other special occasions. • Celebrate only with people you live with in your home and please do not invite guests into your home. • Connect virtually through a video call or by phone with extended family, friends and loved one and say no to in person invitations. • Wear a mask when shopping for festival celebrations. • if you are feeling unwell please stay home, ask a person you live with in your home to shop for you. • Sharing food is not safe right now. If you are preparing festive meals for your household, pour Daal and Sabji, and place Pakoras, Samosas, Barfi and Besan on a separate plate for each person. • Celebrate Diwali by joining live stream prayers and lighting Divaa or Diya at home.
