NDP MLA says new team will support people in mental health or substance use crisis in Abbotsford

New Democrat MLAs says that people in a mental health or substance use crisis will have the support of mental health experts as a new Mobile Integrated Crisis Response Team (MICR) launches in Abbotsford.

“During a mental health crisis, people deserve to be met with understanding and appropriate care,” said Pam Alexis, MLA for Abbotsford-Mission. “MICR Teams will help ensure that people in crisis receive support and connections to other services that can help them recover and thrive.”

MICR Teams, formerly known as Car programs, pair a police officer with a health-care professional to respond to mental health calls made to the police. The teams provide on-site mental health assessments and crisis intervention, and can refer individuals to appropriate services in the community.

Built on partnerships between municipal police departments or local RCMP detachments and the regional health authorities, these teams help free up police resources to focus on crime.

The provincial government has committed $3 million to help fund the implementation of nine new teams across

Doug McCallum and Safe Surrey Coalition Welcome Province's Decision to Move Forward with Surrey Police Service

Today marks a significant milestone for the City of Surrey as Doug McCallum, Councillors Doug Elford, and Mandeep Nagra of the Safe Surrey Coalition express their satisfaction with the Province's decision to direct the City of Surrey to proceed with the Surrey Police Service (SPS). This decision fulfills a key platform

"Today, we call upon the residents of Surrey to join us in expressing our gratitude to all those who have worked tirelessly to ensure public safety in our city," emphasized Councillor Doug Elford. "This decision allows us to move forward, heal any divisions, and foster collaboration for the betterment of public safety

promise made by the Safe Surrey Coalition during the 2018 elections, demonstrating their commitment to delivering on the mandate entrusted to them by the citizens of Surrey.

"For the past five years, the citizens of Surrey have been eagerly anticipating the establishment of the Surrey Police Service. Today's decision by the Province reaffirms that this is the best choice for public safety in our city, and it marks a momentous occasion," stated Doug McCallum. "We are delighted to see our vision become a reality, and we are grateful for the support we have received from the Province throughout this process."

The journey to establish the Surrey Police Service has not been without its challenges. Both the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Surrey Police Service have faced significant pressures during this transition period. Councillor Doug Elford wishes to extend his gratitude to all frontline law enforcement members from both organizations for their dedication and service to the community.

for all residents and neighborhoods in Surrey."

Councillor Mandeep Nagra added, "This has been a very divisive process in our city since October, and it is now time to come together, heal wounds, and work collaboratively for the best public safety for all of Surrey's residents and neighborhoods. Today's decision is a testament to our dedication to serving the people of Surrey."

The City of Surrey recognizes that the process leading up to this decision has been challenging for the community. However, Doug McCallum, Doug Elford, and Mandeep Nagra believe it is now time for the city to come together, mend wounds, and work collaboratively to achieve the highest standards of public safety for all of Surrey's residents.

The Safe Surrey Coalition wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Province of British Columbia for their ongoing support. They also acknowledge the citizens of Surrey for their patience and trust in their leadership.

(NC) Unusual heat can pose serious health risks, such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Knowing how to stay cool is a must – especially if you don’t have air conditioning. Here are a few tips to help you keep your cool.

Stay hydrated

To decrease your risk of dehydration, drink plenty of cool liquids - especially water - before you

No AC? How to keep cool this summer

feel thirsty. When you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated.

Dress for the weather

Check forecasts regularly so you know when to take action. On hot days wear loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing made of breathable fabric. Because sunburned skin is less efficient at sweating – and sweating is how your body naturally cools off – be

sure to wear sunscreen that is at least SPF 30 and a wide-brimmed hat for protection.

Keep your home cool

Create meals such as a bean salad or cold noodle bowl that don't need to be cooked in an oven. Block the sun by opening awnings and closing curtains or blinds during the day. And, if it’s safe to do so, open your windows at night to let cooler air into your home while the sun is down.

Beat the heat

If your home is extremely warm, try taking a cool shower or bath until you feel refreshed, and try to spend a few hours in a cool place. It could be a tree-shaded area, swimming facility or an airconditioned spot like a shopping mall or public library.

Watch for symptoms of heat illness, including dizziness or fainting, nausea or vomiting, headache, or rapid breathing and

heartbeat. If you have any of these symptoms during extreme heat, move to a cool place and drink liquids right away. Water is best.

The Largest Summer Floral Experience in the Lower Mainland

Home of the Abbotsford Tulip Festival, Lakeland Flowers is hosting its first Abbotsford Summer Flower Festival and the largest summer floral experience in the Lower Mainland. Guests are invited to wander through 45 acres of lavender, sunflowers, buckwheat, phacelia, and feature flowers.

Operating from July 21st to September 4th, 2023 the festival has three focal

points beginning with the lavender fields in full bloom including Provence and English lavender. Next is 20 acres of sunflowers, with over 1 million blooms, 30 varieties, a u-pick field, and photo spots including raised wagons, frames, canoes, tractors, and swings. The final area offers a 10-acre meadow of phacelia pastels, a buckwheat sea of white, and an array of colour with the feature flowers, ranging from snap dragons and BlackEyed Susans to coneflowers and Woodland Sage.

For an elevated floral experience, guests are invited to attend two special event nights. Amidst the lavender, a comedy show featuring comedian Cliff Prang will be held on July 28th with a specialty seasonal cocktail called Lakeland Lavender Lemon Fizz and local wines and beers. New addiction services available for young people in B.C.

Young adults living with addictions in British Columbia will have access to more treatment and recovery services, with the opening of new substance-use beds in Surrey and Vancouver.

The Province has added 24 new substance-use treatment beds – 18 at the Phoenix Society in Surrey and six at the Covenant House in Vancouver – to help more young people connect to life-saving services and supports.

“The well-being of our children and youth is our top priority – every young person in British Columbia deserves access to the addiction services that meet their unique needs,” said Jennifer Whiteside, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions. “These new addictions treatment beds in Surrey and Vancouver will help more young people and their families get the supports they need and deserve.”

The beds at the Phoenix Society opened in May to serve men from throughout the province between the

disproportionately affected by the toxic drug crisis,” said Susan Wannamaker, executive vice-president, clinical service delivery, Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). “The beds at this location are for older youth and young men who require higher intensity substance-use care beyond what is available in their regional health authority. Our thanks to the provincial government and our partners at the Phoenix Society and regional health authorities for their collaboration and support.”

The six beds at Covenant House will serve youth and young adults ages 16 to 24 living in Vancouver, including youth who are experiencing homelessness. An additional bed will be publicly offered to patients at no additional charge by Covenant House with oversight from Vancouver Coastal Health. The length of stay in these beds will vary depending on patient needs. Vancouver Coastal Health is accepting referrals from health-care providers for the beds. Services will begin by the end of June.

ages of 17 and 24 with severe and high-risk substance-use challenges who may also have moderate mental health-care needs for an average stay of three to six months. These beds are free for patients and offer wraparound supports, including stabilization, intensive treatment, and after-care services to support people with safe and successful transitions back to the community after treatment.

“Youth who use substances have unique care needs that should be individualized, accessible and non-judgmental,” said Dr. Patricia Daly, chief medical health officer and vice-president of public health at Vancouver Coastal Health. “We are pleased to announce this new partnership with Covenant House to expand the availability of youth-centric services for young people who use substances in Vancouver.”

Enhancing supports for young people living with mental-health and addictions challenges is an integral part of building a comprehensive system of mental-health and addictions care for British Columbians.

Easy remedies for summertime afflictions

(NC) Summer may be your favourite season, but with longer days, warmer weather and often more time spent in the great outdoors, there are a few common and annoying conditions to watch out for. Ensure you’re prepared so you can continue living life to the fullest and enjoying all the season has to offer.

Afflictions affecting your health

Abby News Carly Ferguson (604) 851-4538 carly.ferguson@blackpress.ca

Patrika Dave Sidhu dave@patrika.ca

Thank you for bringing product/ experience to Abbotsford. We hope it is a clear-cut success and sets the stage for future products or experience offerings in Abbotsford in the years ahead!

About Tourism Abbotsford:

Tourism Abbotsford is a leading advocate for community development through tourism. Our mission is to promote Abbotsford as a premier destination, showcasing diverse products and experiences that contribute to a thriving community for both visitors and residents. The Tourism Abbotsford Marketing Grant aims to support local businesses and individuals in their efforts to attract visitors to Abbotsford and create a memorable experience for all.

You’ve heard it before, but applying and re-applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen really is the best way to prevent the painful effects of sunburn or melasma, including serious outcomes like skin cancer. If it’s too late and you’re already burnt, be sure to drink a lot of water, take a cool shower, use a moisturizer containing aloe vera and stay out of the sun.

Heat stroke is dangerous and can occur with too much exposure to high temperatures. Watch for signs like no more sweating, excessive thirst, exhaustion or shortness of breath. Hu-

midity and heat also make heat rash more likely. It occurs when sweat gets trapped under the skin. To avoid heat illnesses like these, wear breathable clothing, drink plenty of water and take breaks from the hot temperatures in an air-conditioned space.

Annoying skin and body conditions

Summer is the season when warts tend to be more common. Though harmless, warts can still be annoying. However, at-home remedies can help get rid of common or plantar warts easily and discreetly, without having to visit your doctor. Grab an at-home solution like Dr. Scholl’s Freeze Away Max Wart Remover to treat warts in as fast as 10 seconds, safely and effectively at home.

Nominations open for 2023 Community Builders’ Awards

Archway Community Services to honour those who make a difference in our community

Nominations are now being accepted for the Community Builders’ Awards organized by Archway Community Services.

The awards honour outstanding individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to making the community a better place in which to live, work and play.

A new Emerging Community Builders category has been added to recognize those who may be younger, new to the Fraser Valley or have recently started giving back.

“It’s always so inspiring to learn about these individuals and organizations who work selflessly, passionately and collaboratively to make a difference,” said Pamela Chatry, chair of the awards committee and Archway board member.

The event will be held on November 2nd at the Matsqui Auditorium. Tickets will be available closer to the date.

The Community Builders’ Awards were established in 2006 by the Archway board of directors to honour and acknowledge individuals and organizations connected to the organization.

In 2022, Louise Burns, Gwen Settle and Thomas McMillan were recognized for their contributions to Archway and the larger community.

The 2022 event also included a Flood Hero category recognizing those who helped during the 2021 November Floods. Clearway Rentals, Gateway

Community Church, Victoria Kuit and Alison Arends were honoured for their work with flood victims.

The deadline for nominations is September 18th, 2023. To submit a nomination and see sponsorship opportunities, please visit Archway. ca/CBA.

For 2023 MercedesBenz dazzles the competition what litter there is with the fully electric AMG EQS luxury sedan. The all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS comes in two body styles: a SUV and a sedan as reviewed. The sedan in this case the performance AMG model looks expensive and impressive with its eye-catching swoopy design, and purposeful stance. It slightly aggressive, but in a cohesive tasteful way, with a waterfall grille, rear diffuser, and subtle trunk spoiler. The EQS rides on 21inch five-spoke alloys or the gorgeous looking 22-inch multi-spoke turbine wheels as fitted on our tester.

Interior wise, the EQS is stunning with a few other new features distilled from the premium Mercedes S-Class and the ultra expansive Mercedes-Maybach! Buyers gains high end features such as exquisite material and finishes, and luxury items such as adjustable rear seat overhead lighting, tablet gesture controls, premium seats pillows, headrests, and every convenience and luxury as possible. One of the biggest highlights must surely be the stunningly impressive e 56-inch glasscovered Hyperscreen dashboard, and the concept car -interior design.

As standard equipment is full power controls and accessories, leather seating, a 15-speaker, Burmester, Surround Sound, 12.30-inch, Colour, Touchscreen, Voice Activating System, Audio, Phone, Navigation, Climate Control, In-car WiFi Network, and three years of Mercedes Me Charging giving access to a Canada-wide charging ecosystem. 12.3-inch gauge cluster, the 17.7-inch central touchscreen, and the 12.3-inch passenger-side touchscreen. The EQS features a fingerprint scanner that activates individual driver profiles, the “Hey Mercedes” voice-command concierge system and augmented-reality navigation in the head-up display. Rest assured occupants will simply be cosseted by the fantastic Burmester 3D audio system, 64-color ambient lighting, and an optional air freshening system.

You can also program other driver profiles based on fingerprint scans. Seating position and driver ergonomics are simply fine with all power adjustment. Storage for small items in the cabin is good , with a number of cleverly organized bins and compartments.

The rear compartment is also limo -like in execution, with the same highquality materials. The reclining, heated seats fold flat in the 40/20/40-split configuration. The rear trunk is a decent size and has a decent lift height.

On the road, the EQS AMG offers superb straight-line acceleration with

instant power delivery. The standard AMG Ride Control Plus, an upgraded high-performance version of Mercedes’ standard air suspension, just crushes road imperfections with aplomb, delivering a confident stable planted feel and takes curves with panache. There is tad of the S-Class here with a superbly comfortable, quiet ride. The steering is light, buts no compact sports car and it does not like to tossed around, its more an effortless long-distance cruiser. There is minimal outside noise and the suspension seems to make the car simply glide.

Downsides are few, the rear seats seem a shade small for taller people and the braking experience takes bit of getting used to as the pedal adjust s to the amount of regen braking you select. And of course, there is the price for mere mortals! To sum up the AMG EQS is filled to the brim with luxury and technology and is a fitting EV flagship for the premium brand. I want one!

Practical steps you can take to control indoor humidity

(NC) A common problem for homeowners during summer months is humidity. High indoor humidity not only makes you feel uncomfortable – it can also have negative effects on your health and your home.

Ideal indoor humidity levels are generally considered to be between 30 and 45 per cent. This can be a challenge to achieve during summer months, as warmer air retains more moisture.

The good news is that you can manage humidity levels effectively in a variety of ways. Homeowner maintenance is the key. There’s an extra level of importance if you own a newly built home, as your warranty will not cover moisture-related issues, like damage to hardwood floors or mould, that result from improper maintenance.

Here are some things you can try to tackle excessive humidity in your home:

Invest in a hygrometer, which will allow you to monitor humidity levels inside your home. Hygrometers are inexpensive and can be found at most hardware stores.

Farm Workers Wanted

B & J Berry Farms Ltd. Requires 11 full-time employees in Abbotsford, BC. 40-70 hours/week $16.75/hour + possible bonuses. Piece rate if applicable. Duties include weeding, tying, pruning, harvesting, digging and other farm related duties, in all weather conditions.

Approx Started Date: December 15, 2023

bandjberryfarmjobs@gmail.com

Be mindful of the number or type of plants in your home as they can mean higher humidity levels inside.

Use your home’s ventilation system. Turn on exhaust fans when cooking, showering or doing laundry. It’s also a good idea to leave them running for a short time after you’re done to ensure enough moisture is removed from the air.

Keep areas throughout your home as tidy as possible. Storage spaces and general clutter can interfere with air circulation, trap humidity and lead to mould growth.

Use a dehumidifier. They are available as standalone units or can be integrated into your home’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. A dehumidifier will help to remove excess moisture from the air.

Plan your landscaping in a way that does not alter the grading around your foundation. Flowerbeds close to your foundation can cause rainwater to pool close to the structure instead of being diverted away from it.

If you have not been keeping up to date with work that needs to be done much pressure will arise as a result. You will not be able to leave it any longer. This could also apply to any laziness when it comes to looking after your health and general well being. Getting a new foundation in place can be easier than you anticipate.

Let go of anything that doesn’t seem to fit with what you want in the future. There will be a greater desire to free yourself up personally but this won’t happen without making some decisions. There needs to be a basis of practicality when it comes to what you can actually manage. Over-extending yourself will not get you anywhere.

New things could start to become important to you, especially if finances are involved. These are decisions you need to make for yourself and not in response to pressure from what others expect. There is no way of escaping certain obligations but you need to take action in deciding on how you are going to take care of them.

The New Moon this week occurs in your own sign and with it can come some insight into what you should aim for long term. This will likely mean some sort of endings with a person or people in your life now. Not that the whole picture will be clear just yet. Practical information or fact gathering could be necessary for a while yet.

Be cautious with decision making this week as you could be easily inclined to over commit yourself. This could occur because there are hidden aspects and in your enthusiasm they will be easily overlooked. Some sort of difficulty or disagreement could arise over money matters and especially so if money has been owed a while.

You may need to stand your ground when it comes to something important to you on a personal level as you meet opposition from somebody who feels they have greater authority in some way. The main thing is to remain mentally optimistic when it comes to changes you want to make in the future. Be patient and resist pressure.

Somebody else does not necessarily have your best interests in mind and for this reason you need to be very cautious when it comes to taking on any new responsibilities. They could end up being a lot more work, which could prove overwhelming in the end. You need to remain mindful of your own priorities.

It might be time to take a more serious approach to what takes precedence in your life. This could mean cutting back on things you like to do or have but are not really a true necessity. The opportunity to enjoy the company of others who are out of the ordinary in some way could generate new directions in your life in the future.

You can be put under pressure to take responsibility for something that needs to be put into place, which might mean a bit of work you would rather not have to do. You could learn something useful and might even benefit from the way somebody else handles similar situations. It will leave you clear to focus on future plans.

New directions with other people can take shape. This could prove rather insightful for you, giving you a sense that there needs to be some sort of definiteness or finality established. Your thoughts and decisions need to be practical and you would be better not to consider anything that could be risk taking in the future.

If you are not happy with regular routines, you could now have the opportunity to inject new life into them. This can be associated with leaving the past behind in some way and entering into situations that are very much out of the ordinary. People you meet as a result might be a bit over the top but just enjoy the company.

If there is somebody around you with a dominant attitude, it could very well come to a head this week. Don’t let your emotions get the better of you. It is possible to control yourself and remain calm and poised on the surface at least. You have the knowledge at your disposal to simply deal with the facts. That will win out in the end.

RFID: A Value Added Technology for Moving Health Care Forward

We could be entering into a new era as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology takes over pharmaceutical planning. RFID is a cost-efficientmtechnology used since the early 2000s, providing users with an efficient process for hospital logistics. In recent years, hospitals have energised the RFID to become effective in pharmaceutical supply chain automation.

RFID is a wireless technology, usually comprised of a RFID reader, RFID tags, and antennas to track inventory and assets. There was a pressing need

for this modern technology, and thanks to our generous donors, Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation was able to deliver RFID to the pharmacy lab at Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) in April 2023.

According to Dwayne Kimoto—Coordinator, Distribution Pharmacy Service, ARH and Mission Memorial: “the reader allows us to properly and safely manage pharmaceuticals that are inside the crash cart trays in places like ICU, the operating room, Emergency (see image below). They need to be available anywhere in the hospital where someone is potentially having a heart attack. The trays, are based upon the advanced cardiac life saving protocols that are internationally recognised […]. In the past it would take us about 45 minutes for one technician to manually inventory

everything—get all the replacement stock, have another technician check it, package it and put it back into circulation. What we have now is really a time effective technology”.

Thus far 174 trays have been processed and according to other pharmacy staff: the process is very quick and RFID reader scans information within seconds. Dennis Allenby— pharmacy tech (ARH) said, “it tells us what is expiring and if we want to replace anything”. There is no need

for drug dosages to be hand-tagged, which could potentially be prone to human error. Crash cart trays are brought to patients immediately equipped with the correct inventory of pharmaceutical supplies.

Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation understands the great need for technology, such as RFID which can potentially save someone’s life and we are thankful to our donors for their generosity in helping us fund new technology for patients-in-need.

A New Flow of Fluid Management Arrives at Abbotsford Regional

Hospital: ICU Receives Starling Monitor from Auxiliary and Anonymous Donor

Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) ICU received a much needed Starling Fluid Management Monitoring System, this year, thanks to the generous Auxiliary to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and an anonymous donor.

The state-of-the-art equipment represents the latest advancements in hemodynamic monitoring, providing easy-to-use, non-invasive technology that delivers accurate and precise data for clinical decision making within seconds in critical care situations. Starling is a portable cardiac output detector that can help a clinician determine whether a patient should be dosed with additional fluids.

As costs continue to rise the economic impact of Starling cannot be underestimated. The estimated cost savings per ARH ICU patient treated with the Starling monitor is $10,379

and the estimated overall cost savings a year for ARH ICU is $3,113,712 by utilising the Starling monitor. And the consequential benefits include: less chances of procedural costs, infection, pain; and decrease days spent in hospital.

Thanks to our donors, the ICU are now able to rely on advanced efforts to deliver patientspecific treatment rather than a one-sizefits all approach. This new technology allows clinicians to rely on stroke-volume guided fluid therapy and management across the continuum of care.

According to clinical nurse educator – Fiona Howarth – “the right fluid management can lead to a decrease in days on dialysis and decrease days the

patient is on a mechanical ventilator. We are excited that Abbotsford Regional Hospital ICU is leading the way in utilizing advanced technology to provide high quality care to all patients requiring ICU care in Fraser East” (see, image one).

Donations for medical equipment such as, the Starling Fluid Management Monitoring System makes as Fiona highlighted a big difference to patients in our communities.

Abhishek to explore career in politics!

With projects like Breathe, Ghoomer, Dhoom 4, and Housefull 5 in his kitty, Abhishek Bachchan has his hands full with work. But that apparently wouldn’t stop him from exploring a career in politics. Reports suggest, the actor will follow in the footsteps of his star parents and step into politics soon. According to Hindi news portal, Junior B will reportedly join Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party, and contest elections from the Allahabad constituency just like his dad. However, there has been no official announcement either from Abhishek or the Samajwadi Party about the same. The buzz of Abhishek joining politics has created quite a stir, especially in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking about a political career in an interview

Bhumi hates to be put in a box

in 2013, Abhishek had said, “My parents have been into politics but I don’t see myself doing it. I might take on a politician’s role on screen but in real life it’s a big no. I will never get into it.” Looking back, Big B had taken a break from acting and entered politics for a short while. He had won the 8th Lok Sabha election in 1984, but he resigned in July 1987 after allegations of his involvement in the Bofors scandal. Jaya Bachchan was also elected as an MP from the SP.

Raja Kumari showers love on ‘King Khan’

In an industry that stereotypes actors constantly, Bhumi Pednekar has been a rare talent! Extremely versatile and considered one of the best actors of this generation with stellar performances since her debut in the Hindi film industry, Bhumi Pednekar hates to be put in a box. The Badhaai Do actress says, “I’m

fortunate that as an actor, I have not been put in a box. I have dabbled many genres, been part of commercial as well as edgy, disruptive films and fortunate enough to find projects that try and affect social change like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bala, Badhaai Do, etc.” She adds, “I’m glad that it has been hard to stereotype me because in this industry that’s the first thing that happens to anyone. I have only tried to break the mould with every film, with every role. I like disruption. I will always look to do the same. I hate doing the routine. I hate doing similar films and roles. It doesn’t creatively inspire me.” Bhumi promises that audiences will be pleasantly surprised to see her dabble in multiple genres in her next slate of movies.

When director Shome Makhija approached Purab Kohli to play the serial killer in Blind, his first ask was that he watch the 2011 Korean original of the same name. “This is the darkest role I’ve ever done. I’ve dwelled in negativity for my roles before, but not to this extent. I read a lot of material about serial killers, and [watched] documentaries to prep for the role,” says Kohli, whose character is named The Driver. The thriller, which dropped on over the weekend, revolves around Sonam Kapoor

Ahuja’s visually-impaired character Gia who witnesses a murder and is then in pursuit of the serial killer. “Sonam and I didn’t do workshops together as Shome wanted distance between the two characters. The only rehearsals we did together were for the action sequences,” says the actor. Shaking off twisted characters is not easy. Kohli agrees, saying, “A good way to detox is to go back, be with family and let your sense of self come back to you.”

Grammy-nominated artiste Raja Kumari, who has written a high-energy, captivating rap for megastar Shah Rukh Khan for the action entertainer Jawan, has now expressed her profound love for ‘King Khan’. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Indian-American rapper wrote, “I got locked out of my twitter for weeks and I only came back to tell iamsrk that I

love him!” Replying to her message, SRK said, “I do too….my Thunder!! Big hug and love to you.” Raja Kumari responded to SRK’s tweet and wrote, “SRK & RK 4EVA”, with a red heart and an Indian flag emoji. The King Khan Rap, written and performed by Raja Kumari, brings an electrifying and dynamic element to the film. The rap encapsulates the essence of

SRK in the film, serving as a testament to the star power of King Khan. Raja Kumari’s unique style infuses the rap with an energy that perfectly complements the grand scale of Jawan. The flick is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation, directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma.

AN ACTOR’S JOB IS TO WAIT: ANGIRA

Actress Angira Dhar after being IMDb’s 2nd Breakout Star of the Year, opens up on how she had to wait for three years before her first feature film. Talking about her character

Kajal, Dhar says, “I explored my emotions deeply to portray Kajal, revealing a multifaceted aspect. I also committed to rigorous physical changes, investing time in the gym and modifying my lifestyle, sleep, and eating habits. The experience was so fulfilling that I’ve chosen to persist, reluctant to move on.It was my initial significant physical transformation. Additionally, we meticulously developed the dialects for each character, fusing different languages and dialects. With the help of a dialect coach, we dedicated

extensive hours to intense rehearsals.” The Commando 3 actress says, “Good things don’t come easy. You have to really wait it out. I feel as an actor you have to be extremely patient. 90% of an actor’s job is actually to wait.” “Sometimes you don’t align creatively on a lot of things. Thus, don’t end up doing such projects. I don’t want to be a part of something half baked. Either I am in or I am out,” Dhar concludes.

Kriti Sanon, who has created a big wave of excitement with the announcement of er production house Blue Butterfly Films, has explained the real reason of her choosing this title. Taking to social media, Kriti has shared a video of her journey, explaining and showing visuals of her high points so far, and also revealed how she has been using the ‘blue butterfly’ emoji since her debut. Kriti also said that how she truly resonates with the title of her production house. In the video, she said: “So why Blue Butterfly Films -- I do love butterflies and I do love the colour blue, it’s there on my insta bio since ages, I use it in my captions, I useit when I write poetry. I think it signifies dreams, wings, flight, freedom, liberal, positivity, happiness all of it. I feel like a butterfly is beautiful but it starts off with you know, being a caterpillar, turning into a cocoon and then turning into a butterfly.” The Shehzada actress went on to add, “It is a slow steady process and becoming the most beautiful version of yourself and I think my life on my journey has kind of been like that, I’ve learnt everything on the job, I’ve slowly gotten to where I am today, evolved into the person I am today.”
