B.C. secures measures to ensure families feel safe accessing public spaces

To help ensure kids and families feel safe in their communities, the Province has received approval from the federal government to prohibit the possession of illegal drugs at playgrounds, spray pools, wading pools and skate parks.

Effective Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, possession of illicit drugs within 15 metres of any play structure in a playground, a spray or wading pool, or a skate park will be prohibited. B.C. had made a request to Health

Canada for an amendment to the decriminalization policy to add these spaces to existing exclusions on possession, including on the premises of K-12 schools and licensed child care facilities. The federal minister of mental health and addictions and associate minister of health has approved B.C.’s request.

“Our government is committed to breaking down barriers and connecting people to the supports they need,” said Jennifer Whiteside, B.C.’s Minister of Mental Health and Addictions. “We requested this amendment from Health Canada to ensure that families feel safe in their community while continuing to use every tool available to fight the toxicdrug crisis and save lives.”

With this amendment, police officers may enforce the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act when individuals are found to be in possession of illegal drugs in these child-focused spaces. Intoxication remains illegal in all public places.

“Everyone, especially children, should feel safe in their communities,” said Minister Ya’ara Saks, federal Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health. “This cannot be forgotten as we continue to work relentlessly to reduce substance use related harms. This amendment ensures that law enforcement has the tools needed to address public drug-use concerns, while continuing to provide support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community who use drugs. Our government recognizes the tremendous work B.C. has been doing across

the full continuum of care to address the overdose crisis and we will continue to work with them to save lives.”

The Province has also recently completed consultations on public drug use with key stakeholders, and is planning to introduce provincial legislation to further regulate public drug use this fall.

The B.C. government is also releasing data on mental-health and substance-use services in the province. This new data snapshot will show how the ministry is expanding mental-health and addictions care to help people connect services, including early intervention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery, and after-care supports.

The data snapshot includes information about the impacts of decriminalization, including law-enforcement data, research on the emotional wellbeing of people living with addiction, and connecting people to services, including treatment. It also reflects the

work accomplished to date as part of A Pathway to Hope, issued in 2019, a strategy that lays out government’s 10-year vision for mental-health and substance-use care. The Province has released a report to highlight progress to date on key priorities and action areas.

Since decriminalization came into effect, the provincial and federal governments have continued to work closely to monitor this exemption to ensure it is meeting the desired outcomes and that any potential un-

intended consequences are promptly addressed.

Decriminalization is just one tool in the Province’s toolbox in the fight against the toxic drug crisis.

The B.C. government is working to build an integrated system of mentalhealth and addictions care that works for everyone. This includes adding hundreds of new treatment beds, expanding services for youth, and increasing access to programs that reduce harm and help keep people safe, such as drug-checking measures.

Premier’s statement about India and the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar

Premier David Eby has issued the following statement regarding the Government of India and the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar:

“Today, Prime Minister Trudeau announced the Government of Canada has credible evidence of links between the Government of India and the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar outside a gurdwara in Surrey. This afternoon, I received a further briefing from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) on these allegations.

“I am deeply disturbed and angered by this information. Canadians across the country must be safe from the interference of foreign governments, including being targeted for threats or physical harm, including murder.

“Our democracy depends on it.

“In light of these revelations, we will do all we can to enhance protection for the people of British Columbia against the violence or threats of state actors. I call, yet again, on the federal govern-

ment to share all relevant information related to any known ongoing foreign interference and transnational organized crime threats with our provincial authorities and our government, so we may act in co-ordination and protect those at risk.

“I join with those in the Sikh and Punjabi community, and the broader province, demanding justice and answers. Our government will fully and enthusiastically support any federal efforts to ensure those responsible are held personally accountable.

“As investigations progress, I ask for those who are rightly angry to support justice and accountability through our formal legal systems. It is what makes us strong and is what distinguishes us from those who would act illegally to advance their own ends through threats, assassinations and attacks.

“We will win and there will be justice, because it must be so to protect what is best about the province we love."

BC Children’s offers back-to-school wellness toolkit to families

BC Children’s Hospital is offering families a ‘back-to-school wellness toolkit’ with guidance and resources to support families, young children and teenagers this fall. For some children, particularly those with social anxiety and other mental health issues, the first few months of the back-to-school transition can be challenging and emotional; conversely, others rely on school for social and emotional stability and support, and adapt more easily.

medical officer for BC Children’s and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre said, “School is an important environment for healthy development in young people’s lives. Families who create safe and caring environments where their child is valued for who they are, and where strong emotions are normalized, produce healthy, more emotionally-balanced adults. In the weeks and months ahead, I strongly encourage families to access supports and resources to create this

BC Children’s clinicians advise families to tailor their approach to meet the unique mental, emotional and physical needs of their child or teenager. Some steps families can take to support mental and emotional well-being include:

- Open communication: Talk honestly and openly with your child, address their concerns and validate their feelings. Normalize that school can be challenging and that feelings of anxiety and related emotions are normal.

- Create safe and supportive environments: Value and praise your children for their unique strengths and encourage a healthy and balanced relationship with academics.

- Model behaviour: If your child is expressing strong emotions during this transition, remain calm, listen and show empathy. To teach them resiliency, you can encourage productive ways of coping, such as exercise, talking to others, exploring creative outlets and practicing mindfulness.

Speaking about the back-to-school transition, Dr. Jana Davidson, chief

environment for their child or teenager during what can be a challenging transition.”

There are also steps families can take to promote physical health and wellbeing. These include ensuring a consistent sleep routine and encouraging their child to have breakfast every morning. Families with financial constraints can engage with school leadership or community groups for support with this. Immunizations are also critical in preventing some serious illnesses. Public Health may visit your child’s school during the school year to offer certain vaccines, which protect not only your child, but also your family and the entire school community.

To support families during this transition and throughout respiratory season, BC Children’s has launched “Sunny Bear,” a new chat bot feature on its website. This platform offers families guidance on where to access care, services available at BC Children’s, and information on how to reduce the risk of serious viral infections.

Provincial Tuition Waiver Program expanded to former youth in care of all ages

People looking to enrol in post-secondary education, who are former youth in care, will benefit from an expansion of the Provincial Tuition Waiver Program, which has launched for the fall semester.

“This program has made a massive and positive impact on so many peoples’ lives to shape their future without barriers, financial burden or worry,” said Selina Robinson, Minister of PostSecondary Education and Future Skills. “Expanding this program to all former youth in care will provide significant support to British Columbians to seize the opportunities in this changing economy while providing them with the skills and talent needed to build the lives they deserve.”

The Provincial Tuition Waiver Program for former youth in care has been expanded to include all former youth in care, regardless of age. The program is no longer capped on a person’s 27th birthday. This program is also available to those who turn or have turned 19 with B.C. children and family development ministry or Indigenous Child and

Family Service Agency legal status, regardless of time spent in care.

“We want young people from care to have as many opportunities as possible when it comes to accessing post-secondary studies,” said Mitzi Dean, Minister of Children and Family Development. “We are breaking down barriers, making access to postsecondary education more equitable and providing holistic support to former youth in care across the province. The tuition waiver program, in addition to others under the Ministry of Children and Family Development’s Strengthening Abilities and Journeys of Empowerment Program, addresses a wide range of needs, enabling more adults to access supports to reach their full potential on their terms.”

Previously, tuition waiver recipients had to be under the age of 27 and had to have been in care for 24 months, consecutive or accumulative. Government has expanded the program to include former youth in care of all ages who have been in care for 24 months. In addition, those who turn or have turned

19 in care are eligible, regardless of time spent in care. The total provincial funding is $19.2 million over three years.

Eligible former youth in care of any age can receive free tuition at all 25 public post-secondary institutions, the Native Education College and approved union-based trades training providers. This expansion also includes the introduction of a new $3,500 grant to support educational costs, such as books, computers and supplies.

Approximately 2,300 students have accessed Provincial Tuition Waiver Program since its implementation in 2017, resulting in $16.6 million in tuition and fees waived. The program expansion is expected to support an additional 1,200 students who are currently enrolled in post-secondary programs and result in an estimated increase of 1,000 to 1,500 program participants per year. In total, this program extension will create opportunities for approximately 50,000 former youth in care in B.C.

The Provincial Tuition Waiver Program covers a wide range of undergraduate study options, including courses leading to a certificate, diploma or undergraduate degree, non-credit courses, apprenticeship programs and continuing education courses.

This program expansion is a part of the StrongerBC: Future Ready Action Plan, released May 2, 2023. It is a cross-government plan that will help make education and training more accessible, affordable, and relevant to help prepare the people of B.C. for the jobs of today and tomorrow. The Future Ready Action Plan is supported by a provincial investment of $480 million over three years.

The Canada-India relationship, anchored in their shared membership in the Commonwealth and numerous common allies, is currently sailing through turbulent waters. The recent events have underscored a growing diplomatic rift between the two nations, primarily due to concerns of ongoing Indian interference in Canadian affairs.

According to Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), India had interfered with the 2020 federal elections and are now accused of being behind the killing of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. On Monday

afternoon, Trudeau told the House of Commons in a rare statement on a matter of national security that Canadian intelligence agencies were investigating "credible allegations" that agents of the Indian government were involved in the June death of prominent Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in B.C. Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly then announced Canada had expelled a "key Indian diplomat," Pavan Kumar Rai, who is listed as the head of Canadian operations for the Research and Analysis Wing, India's foreign intelligence agency. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government hit back

early Tuesday, denying any involvement in any act of violence on Canadian soil and announcing it would be reciprocally expelling a senior Canadian diplomat out of concern for interference in internal affairs.

The Canadian High Commissioner in India was summoned and informed about the expulsion of senior Canadian diplomat Olivier Sylvester and was told to leave the country within five days, India said. The Indian government urged the Government of Canada to take prompt and effective legal action against all anti-India elements operating from their soil in a

statement after PM Trudeau's speech in the House of Commons.

The diplomatic strains have now spilled over into the economic realm, as talks on a proposed trade deal between the two nations have been frozen. While Canada has provided few details on the impasse, India has cited "certain political developments" as a reason for the strained relations. These political developments have now come into light with Trudeau’s announcement in the House of Commons.

On Tuesday morning, Trudeau said since the summer, officials had been

working closely with intelligence agencies to "make sure that we had solid grounding in understanding what was going on." David Eby, Premier of British Columbia issued this statement, "I join with those in the Sikh and Punjabi community, and the broader province, demanding justice and answers. Our government will fully and enthusiastically support any federal efforts to ensure those responsible are held personally accountable." Jagmeet Singh, leader of the NDP, wrote "In my experience, as a Sikh-Canadian, there have always been suspicions that India was

interfering in the democratic rights of Canadians. Yesterday's announcement by the prime minister confirms that these suspicions are valid." He also announced that he'd written to the commissioner leading the public inquiry to ask that India specifically be included in her examination of foreign interference in Canada.

On Monday afternoon, following Prime Minister Trudeau’s announcement Pierre Poilievre, leader of the opposition, the Conservative Party, said, "Our citizens must be safe from extrajudicial killings. Canadians

deserve to be protected on Canadian soil. We call on the Indian government to act with utmost transparency as authorities investigate this murder. The truth must come out.” He further added "Let us lock arms and join hands in condemning this murder, standing with the family and the friends of this victim. Let's put aside our difference to stand up for the rule of law. One law for all our people." However, the next morning, on Tuesday, he said "We need to know all the evidence possible so that Canadians can make judgments on that." "The prime minister hasn't provided any facts. He provided a statement, and I will just emphasize that he didn't tell me any more in private than he told Canadians in public. So we want to see more information," Poilievre said.

Trudeau announced the CSIS shared this information with the Five Eyes Alliance, which consists of New Zealand, Australia, the UK, the USA, and Canada. Although the UK and Australia showcased neutrality on this developing matter by mentioning their ongoing talks with CSIS

and how shocking these allegations are, the USA denied any pressure to condemn this murder from Canada. Instead, a senior U.S. administration official reached out to CBC News and stated, "In fact, we very clearly and very publicly have done the opposite by expressing deep concern shortly after PM Trudeau made the announcement." A U.S. State Department spokesperson in a comment to CTV News also made this statement, "We are deeply concerned about the allegations referenced by PM Trudeau yesterday.” "We remain in regular contact with our Canadian partners. It is critical that Canada’s investigation proceed, and the perpetrators be brought to justice."

As this diplomatic drama unfolds, it is imperative for all stakeholders, including the government, intelligence agencies, and opposition leaders, to put aside partisan interests and prioritize the pursuit of truth and justice. Canadians deserve answers, and the international community will be watching closely as events continue to unfold.

Savor the Flavors of Abby Night Market : A Culinary Extravaganza

On the enchanting evening of Friday, September 15th, 2023, Jubilee Park in Abbotsford came alive with the irresistible aromas and delectable delights of the Taste of Abby Night Market. This annual gastronomic celebration brought together local culinary artisans and food enthusiasts for an unforgettable evening of feasting and fun. A few of the standouts at the event were Lucente’s Osteria, where foodies indulged in the delightful Italian classic – arancini. These crispy, golden orbs of risotto filled with gooey cheese and savory ingredients were a true taste of Italy's culinary excellence. Wingerz, known for their mouthwatering chicken creations, had crowds flocking to their stall for their crispy chicken wings. Each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures, a testament to their dedication to the art of fried chicken. Mia Birria showcased their drool-worthy quesadillas, combining tender, slow-cooked birria meat with melted cheese, all wrapped in a warm tortilla. It was an explosion of flavor that left taste buds tingling. Thirst was quenched with finesse at Ripples Winery & New Wave Distilling, where their artisanal cocktails captivated attendees. From classic cocktails to creative concoctions, they had it all. And not to be outdone, Crow's Nest Distillery made waves with their blueberry margarita, a delightful fusion of sweet and tangy flavors. There were too many delicious foods to try, but we could only eat so much! Thank you to all the vendors for the delicious food and drinks!

The Taste of Abby Night Market wasn't just about food and drinks; it was a celebration of the vibrant food culture in the Abbotsford community. There was live music from Velavox and Rebecca Sichon, who graced the stage with new hits, original songs and some classics. Families, friends, and food enthusiasts gathered under the starlit sky, forging connections over shared culinary experiences and good music. As the night market concluded, the air was filled with contented sighs and satisfied smiles. It was an evening where every bite and sip was a sensory journey, a reminder of the power of food to bring people together and create lasting memories. The Taste of Abby Night Market of 2023 was indeed a night to remember, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating next year's culinary extravaganza.

3 creative nooks for a cozy home

(NC) Everyone has their guilty or not-so-guilty pleasures, and it’s important to embrace the little moments in life that make us feel at ease. When designing a living space, leave room for your everyday habits and favourite activities. Read on for inspiration and tips to create cozy corners within the home.

A space for reading

Create a cozy reading corner with comfortable seating, the perfect lighting and an accent wall that makes it feel like its own little room within a room. Choose colours like greens, blues or a deep brown that will help you stay immersed in the story you’re reading.

A personalized coffee area

Start every day on the right foot with a personalized coffee nook. Choose a corner near windows for maximum sunlight exposure first thing in the morning. Here, you can paint window trim for a unique accent that will make the room pop. When selecting

a colour for the trim, keep the wall colours in mind and go for a contrasting look.

A corner for wellness

In today’s fast-paced world, creating a space that promotes your wellbeing is essential. From a skincare vanity to a dedicated fitness area, make your home your sanctuary and reserve an area for self-care and peace. Choose paint colours that calm the mind – such as Benjamin Moore Palest Pistachio 2122-60, a barely-there hue with crisp notes of blue and grey, or Benjamin Moore Natural Linen CC-90, a sandy neutral with just the right amount of rustic warmth and elegance.

Immunization in Mission Some Facts

Only 70 per cent of children in Mission receive the needed childhood immunizations before they turn two! We need to do better!

Why is it important to get immunized?

• Vaccines protect your child against serious illness even death such as –

• Polio can causes paralysis

• 10% of measles infections cause brain infection – lifetime brain damage

• Mumps is a significant cause of sterility and deafness.

• Vaccines are effective

• Measles vaccine is more than 95% effective

• Measles vaccination is associated with reduced non measles deaths and illness.

• Measles vaccination has prevented more than 25 Million Deaths

We need to prevent every infection that we can.

• Immunizing your child protects others – Especially family members, babies and at risk people, such as those receiving cancer treatment.

• Vaccine-preventable diseases have not gone away: Our high immunization rates have made these diseases rare. But we have seen recent outbreaks of measles and polio due to lack of Immunization.

• Vaccines build immunity: Just like our muscles, our immune system becomes stronger with use. Immunization trains our immunity making it work better!

• Vaccines are Safe! Every vaccine in Canada has to go through serious safety testing before it is approved. Once the vaccine is approved, public health continues to monitor and review side effects to make sure there are no unexpected effects from the vaccine. Vaccine development, licensing and monitoring of any side effects, are parts of a highly regulated process. How can you make immunizations a positive experience?

Use the C.A.R.D. approach

•Comfort: Think about what will make your child comfortable during the appointment. Some ideas include bringing a stuffed animal or having your child come in pyjamas.

•Ask: Think about what questions you or your child would like to ask the doctor or nurse so that you feel more prepared.

•Relax: Try to relax and encourage your child to relax with you. Use slow deep breaths or bring a friend for support.

•Distract: Give your child something else to focus on during the immunization.

What can you do to support immunization efforts in Mission?

1.Ask your doctor, nurse practitioner, pharmacist about immunization.

2.Talk to your family and friends about the importance of immunization.

3.Share the C.A.R.D. system with anyone who may be nervous about immunizations.

4.Visit www.healthgateway.gov.bc.ca to see if your family’s immunizations are up-to-date.

5.Book an immunization appointment to get immunized.

• Call your primary care provider or pharmacist

• Book an appointment with Public Health by calling 604-702-4906

By paying attention to detail you could sort something out much easier than you imagined, especially if it has been bothering you since late August. A novel way of dealing with it can come to mind. As a result, you can feel you are finding a way around pressures somebody else may have been placing upon you, perhaps unfairly.

Some unexpected opportunities can come up and perhaps suddenly that you could feel very pleased about. This can enable you to put things into place in a manner that gives you a solid sense of stability. This can include home and family matters. The only thing you have to mindful of is how this could affect routines already in place.

You can come up with a solution with something you haven’t been quite able to get settled and properly organised as far back as late August. A different way of looking at it or communicating the idea can make all the difference. It might also require some juggling when it comes to things you enjoy but are not necessary.

You could find the perfect thing. Think carefully before spending, whatever the cost as it may not be that necessary. Conversations about what is important to you can go well. Leave no stone unturned, discuss all the details. Getting things in place might take more time and energy than you initially anticipate. It will be worth it.

This is an excellent time for anything associated with work or business, especially if you want to increase your income. You should not hold back when it comes to promoting yourself, though keeping it well balanced and not too much over the top would be of benefit. Your skills could be appreciated more than you expect.

Don’t be surprised if your long-term view changes suddenly. It has likely been difficult to come to a final decision and not necessarily due to yourself since late July. You could see the benefit of letting something go and it can be this that establishes harmony in some way. Spending less could be part of the process.

You could feel you have finally worked out what somebody else is really expecting. It can now place you in a position where you can ask the right questions so that you can fill in the details more thoroughly. Much of your understanding needs to be kept to yourself. Your natural Libran charm, used patiently, will bring you results.

Somebody else could be more generous than you expect when it comes to a situation that suits you or fulfils something important to you. It is also possible that you could be highly recommended in some way. When it comes to obligations attached to any situation with others, it will be up to you to keep them in balance.

You can gain a clearer idea of commitments you are prepared to accept on a daily basis, or with regular routines in your life, especially if they have been all over the place since late August. Your main aim should be to maintain greater equilibrium in the long term. It might mean you will have to be more direct where priorities are concerned.

Some unexpected opportunities can arise that would be enjoyable to pursue and certainly most tempting. Your obligations will not be such that you could take these on wholly and solely. Somebody else might be quite prepared to pay as well. Your natural tendency to put responsibilities first will work out what is reasonable to accept.

Ideas somebody else has put into place might be worth considering when it comes to the way you would like to structure your own life, especially if you want to create more independence or freedom in some way. It would not be without some hurdles and it might mean lowering expectations in the long term but it could work out in the end.

Discussion with somebody else could get you thinking in a more open manner to what you have considered before. What you cannot afford to overlook in what might be enthusiasm for these ideas, are the things you need to deal with on a regular basis. Saturn in your sign now, will demand a practical approach from you in the end.

Hrithik turns director!

Hrithik Roshan has been in the Hindi film industry for more than two decades now and has cemented his standing with films like Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, Dhoom 2, Jodha Akbar and War. And now the buzz is that the actor has turned director, not for a film but for an advertising commercial. As per a report, the good looking actor has gone behind the camera to shoot an ad for a premium menswear brand that he endorses. The ad film also celebrates 25 years of Hrithik Roshan in the business. In an interview, Siddharth Anand, director of Hrithik’s films like Bang Bang, War and Fighter, had said that Hrithik doesn’t look at himself alone in a movie. He is a closet filmmaker but doesn’t know it himself. Siddharth also said that he keeps telling him he should direct a film soon. Hrithik will soon be seen in Fighter where he has teamed up with Siddharth Anand again after War. The film also stars Anil Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the lead. The film will be released in January next year.

Before starting her journey in the entertainment industry in India, Sunny Leone had a flourishing career in the adult entertainment industry in the US. In a recent interview, the actor candidly discussed her experience in the adult film industry and emphasised her approach in maintaining control over every project she undertook. Earlier, Mia Khalifa, who spent just three months in the adult entertainment industry before leaving in 2015, made a statement revealing that she made merely Rs 8.75 lakh from her projects while the producers continue to mint money from her videos. In a conversation with a news portal, when Sunny was asked if she had a similar experience, she said, “No, not at all. I worked with the best people. I have no horror stories. I read through every contract and corrected every single contract, so was gaining something from it. I was in control of every single thing that I was doing. I saw it as a business. I saw it as a means to get to something else. It wasn’t free for all in my world. Everybody’s experiences are different, mine was totally different.” After more than a decade in the Hindi film industry,Sunny’s hard work and dedication finally paid off when she landed a significant role in Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy. The movie recently premiered at the esteemed 75th Cannes Film Festival, receiving widespread acclaim and a seven-minute standing ovation.

Actress Zareen Khan who made her debut in Veer said that comparisons with Katrina Kaif backfired on her career as the film industry didn’t give her a chance to prove her individuality. A fan asked Zareen on social media platform, “People compared you a lot with Katrina Kaif in your early days in Bollywood. How did it make you feel and did it have any impact on your career?” To which the Housefull 2 actress replied, “So when I entered this industry, I was literally like a lost child, since I don’t come from a filmy background. So it made me feel really happy being compared to Katrina as I was her fan too, and found her really pretty. But it backfired on my career as the people of this industry didn’t give me a chance to prove my individuality.” Zareen was last seen in Hate Story 3, Telugu film Chanakya and Punjabi film Jatt.

I love ensemble cast : Tamannah

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia says being a part of an ensemble is empowering and she doesn’t feel insecure in a multi-star cast.Talking about younger generation avoiding ensemble, the Himmatwalaactress said, “I think change is individual,I remember when Baahubalihappened, my first successful Telugu film Happy Days happened, then I did a recent show titled Jee Karda,I’ve always been a part of ensemble films and I have never shied away from that because I think there is power when great bunch of creative people come together and I think I have always been a very secure actor.” She went on to add, “I can say for myself that in fact when you are with these great stalwarts from the industry, your best comes out, because you know you can’t do anything else but to bring your A game.”

A s she worked with Nitesh Tiwari in her latest film Bawaal, Janhvi Kapoor mentioned that she learnt to be relaxed

Haven’t taken shortcuts to shine : Vaani

Actress Vaani Kapoor, who is known for films like War, Befikre, Shuddh Desi Romance and others, is all set to make her debut on OTT with Mandala Murders and has to tap into her knowledge bank as an actor. The Shamshera actress said, “I was looking for something really clutter-breaking for my foray into OTT. I’m thrilled to be working with a mind like Gopi Puthran for Mandala Murders, a gritty crime thriller series that has pushed me to work my hardest in genre I’ve never attempted before.” Although the show has challenged the actor in her, she is taking it upon herself to rise above those challenges. “I have always been an actor who has never taken any shortcuts to shine when it comes to my craft because I respect the art of filmmaking and the purity that one needs to have towards acting. Mandala Murders has truly pushed me as an actor to deliver a performance

while working on a film, on a set. She says that she likes learning different methods while working with different directors. As Janhvi teamed up with the Chhichhore director for the first time, she said, “The kind of an actor that I am and I want to be… I like the thrill of following my director’s lead for each film. So, the director can be demanding or can expect my emotional and physical investment… I will just go with him/ her on that journey.” She further adds, “I like to follow my director and learn more about myself in the process and also the craft. As an artiste you can pick up different things in different processes and it in a way, I think, makes each performance more different.” Earlier, talking about working on her latest flick, Janhvi had said, “One doesn’t have to struggle and take pressure to guarantee results. Sometimes you can just enjoy the process, believe in what you are doing and follow your director’s lead and the results can be equally special.”
