Here in the home of the American Revolution, we’re proud of our rebel roots. We hold fast to our values—diversity, collaboration, and innovation—and we’re only half-joking when we tell people to run until apprehended, because we see our studio less like an office and more like a test lab. Ingenuity is embedded in the fabric of our practice, blurring traditional boundaries between disciplines. We take advantage of our city’s world-class academic institutions, actively seeking new perspectives for a fresh, dynamic atmosphere.

― FUN STUDIO FACT

Our in-house model shop is at the heart of our studio—both literally and figuratively. The shop is always bustling with activity, from the hum of the 3D printer to the buzz of the laser cutter. Making is a part of our every day.

Our Purpose

The best design solutions come from diverse design teams. Diversity and Inclusion Creative synergy happens when people from different walks of life collaborate on equal footing. When underrepresented voices are heard—and valued.

Read our best practices for creating a J.E.D.I. culture in any organization.

We’re on a mission to diversify the design profession and create a more just, equitable, and inclusive world. Because when it comes to excellence in design, there’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all.

differences, encourages participation, and ensures everyone is treated fairly. No matter your age, background, culture, ethnicity, gender identity, language, physical ability, race, religion, sexual orientation, size, or socioeconomic status, you belong here. Your voice matters.

We’re creating opportunities for small, local, and minority-owned businesses to shine. Diverse Subconsultant Program Our Diverse Subconsultant Program—one of the first of its kind in the AEC industry—puts strategies in place to ensure we partner with disadvantaged and minority-owned service providers and manufacturers. This kind of strategic collaboration on design projects catalyzes economic growth and accelerates entrepreneurial innovation in the communities we serve. And, it gives talented—yet often unsung—local business leaders a chance to shine.

Black in Design Mentorship Program Launched in 2021, the Black in Design Mentorship Program with the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) aims to promote greater representation of Black talent in the design industry. Originally conceived by students and Perkins&Will professionals at the GSD’s 2019 Black in Design Conference, the mentorship program will fill a critical educational and career gap in the design profession by fostering meaningful and lasting relationships starting as early as high school. As institutions evolve and respond to an unpredictable future, they are continually faced with challenges in strengthening and sustaining their resources, their community, and the environment. We believe that the concept of stewardship includes planning for a future where each project protects, cultivates, and supports these critically important aspects. This means programming, planning, and designing resilient facilities that frame intentional activities and outcomes, and contribute to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. Our goal is to assist each institution to optimize their greatest assets, accomplish their academic goals, and thrive in learning, research, and community engagement.
