In September 2024, Givenchy unveiled the Shark Lock Boot Project, reimagining its iconic boot style as a work of art. Four international image-makers, selected by creative director Jamie Reid, were given creative freedom to reinterpret the boots through unique visuals, blending art and fashion. The project showcases new interpretations of the Shark Lock boot, highlighting craftsmanship and design in various styles, including wedge, knee-high, and biker ankle boots. Complementing these are updated versions of Givenchy's star handbags, such as the Antigona, in luxurious materials and seasonal colours for Fall-Winter 2024-2025.

To create this look, divide your hair into two sections. First, pull the top half into a ponytail at the crown of your head. The Italian Job (Radisson Blu Doha)
Classic Tiramisu
Ingredients:
Pâte à bombe (Pasteurised Eggs)
510g White sugar
150g Water
225g Egg yolk
Method:
On low heat, cook the syrup until it reaches a temperature of 121°, use a kitchen thermometer to measure the exact temperature. (Makes 14 servings)
Tiramisu:
• 1.5kg Mascarpone cheese
• 1 Vanilla beans
• 600g Strong coffee espresso
• 150g Cocoa powder
• 120g Savoiardi ladyfinger
Method:
As soon as the syrup has reached the right temperature, slowly pour it into the egg yolks and continue whisking. You will have to work on it until you obtain a light and frothy cream. When the mixture is cold, turn off the whisk. Pour the mascarpone into a bowl, add the vanilla pod seeds and whisk to soften it. Also add the pâte à bombe and continue mixing with the whisk until you obtain a uniform, firm cream. Transfer to the refrigerator and in the meantime prepare the coffee and let it cool. Combine the ladyfinger with mascarpone cream and a generous dusting of cocoa powder on every layer. Keep in the fridge for about 12 hours before serving.

B Lounge (The Ritz-Carlton Doha)
Radish Cake
Method:
For the batter:
• Grate the white radish and julienne the carrots and black fungus, then set them aside.
• In a bowl, combine flour, wheat starch, potato starch, salt, and water. Stir in the prepared vegetables.
• Grease a tray and pour in the batter until it reaches about 1 inch in height. Steam for 40 minutes.
• Once done, let it cool before cutting into your preferred sizes.
• Finally, pan-fry the pieces in a little oil until both sides are crisp. Serve with Cantonese chili sauce.
BBQ Beef Char Sui Puff
Method:
1. Prepare the puff pastry sheet:
For the butter
Mix the Hong Kong flour (low gluten flour) and butter and flatten it out to a 1 inch slab.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, whole egg, water, butter and salt.
Add the cold, cubed butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the egg yolk and mix until combined. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
Shape the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
2. Roll out the dough:
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/8 inch thick and place the butter slab and cover with the dough. Do this step three times to allow it to form even layers of butter and dough. Cut out squares and set it aside till use.
For the BBQ beef Char Siu:
Marinate the beef with all ingredients and skewer it with bamboo skewers. Cook it over the grill with well done and set it aside to cool. Now cut the beef into small cubes, mix it with the char siu sauce mentioned below and let it cool down to all it to become firm,
For the Char Siu sauce:
From the left over marination of the beef add the ingredients for the char Siu sauce and cook it together to form a paste.
For the final preparation:
Take a square sheet of dough and fill it with the mixture. Fold both ends to create a small rectangle, sealing all edges by gently pressing to prevent it from opening during cooking. Brush the puff with egg wash and sprinkle with white sesame seeds. Bake at 180 degrees for 15 minutes, or until golden brown, and serve hot.

Ravioli Cacio & Pepe: Cacio e pepe is a pasta dish from the cuisine of the city of Rome. Cacio e pepe means "cheese and pepper" in several central Italian dialects. In keeping with its name, the dish contains grated Pecorino Romano cheese and black pepper. The Cacio e pepe is usually a sauce but, in our dish, the cacio e pepe sauce will be the filling of our ravioli.
Ingredients:
Homemade Ravioli filled with Pecorino and black pepper. Served with sage brown butter and Parmesan chips.

Ruby Wu’s (Radisson Blu Doha)
Beef Tenderloin with Mushroom and Broccoli
Ingredients:
250 gms Beef tenderloin
80 gms Shitake mushroom
100 gms Broccoli
50 gms Corn oil
15 gms Oyster sauce
5 gms Soya sauce
5 gms Chicken powder
5 gms Potato starch
2 gms Sesame oil
2 gms Black pepper powder
5 gms Ginger, garlic, spring onions
Method:
Slice tenderloin in small pieces.
Mushrooms, ginger, garlic, broccoli, green onion cut in small pieces.
Heat the wok and corn oil to 120 degrees and sauté the beef for 10 seconds.
Leave the beef to rest.
Heat the wok again and sauté the ginger, garlic, green onions and Shitake mushrooms until fragrant.
Add the beef tenderloin, broccoli and seasoning.
Add beef stock and potato starch with a little sesame oil.
Best served with rice.

Parisa (Al Messila Resort)
Lamb Kebab
Begin by preparing the marinade. Mix onions, fragrant saffron, a pinch of salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Cut the lamb fillet into 1cm thick and 4-5cm long pieces, then immerse them in the marinade. For best results, cover the container and refrigerate overnight – 24 hours is ideal for maximum flavour infusion and to give you the authentic traditional Persian flavour.
Once marinated, press the lamb evenly around a long, thick metal skewer, ensuring it holds its shape. Barbeque each side for about 5 minutes, turning frequently to ensure even cooking. For boneless lamb, marinate as instructed, mince the meat, and refrigerate for a few hours. Then, fix the minced lamb to a skewer and grill.
To serve, remove the kebabs from the skewers and plate them alongside saffron-infused rice. Drizzle with a decadent butter sauce, made from melted butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper, to elevate the dish to perfection.
This recipe captures the heart of Persian cuisine, blending simplicity with deep, aromatic flavours. Perfect for any festive occasion, it's sure to impress your guests with its authenticity and taste.

Highlights from the menu include the Lobster Pumpkin with Enoki Mushroom and Fermented Yellow Chilli, where lobster represents good fortune, and the golden pumpkin symbolises prosperity. Another iconic dish is the Wok-Seared Wagyu Beef Ribeye with Artichoke and Kam Heong Sauce, a luxurious treat that exudes wealth and status. The Golden Mala Dumplings with Lamb Loin and Chilli Crisp further elevate the experience, as dumplings are traditionally associated with wealth.

From the moment I stepped into The Italian Job, I felt transported to a cozy Italian village. The décor, inspired by the 1969 movie
The Italian Job, this restaurant features charming wooden arches, red brick accents, and vintage images of Italy. Whether dining inside or in the outdoor seating area, the ambience exudes a warm, verdant charm perfect for intimate dinners or large group gatherings. Throughout the evening, waiters and waitresses serenaded us with classic hits from ABBA and Celine Dion, bringing a joyful energy to the meal. Rico, our server, has been entertaining guests for over 19 years at the restaurant, adding a personal touch to the experience.
Azqa Haroon recently visited The Italian Job at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Doha, and she came away delighted. Combining homely Italian cuisine with vibrant entertainment, this restaurant has earned its reputation as a must-visit spot for Italian food lovers in the city.
The dinner experience
The meal wouldn’t have been complete without the freshly baked Mare E Monti A Mode Mio pizza. This delicious creation blended the sea and earth, featuring mozzarella, succulent shrimp, zucchini, garlic, and parsley, perfectly balancing light seafood flavours with the comforting warmth of the dough. A wide variety of refreshing cocktails were freshly prepared at the counter.
The dinner featured an exquisite array of authentic Italian dishes, beautifully curated from appetisers to desserts. I began with two standout salads – the Insalata Di Mare (a refreshing seafood salad, packed with octopus, cuttlefish, calamari, mussels, and topped with a zesty lemon dressing) that brought out the freshness of the ingredients and the Insalatina Con Frutti (a delightful blend of mesclun greens, strawberries, clementine, and berries, paired with creamy goat cheese, thyme, and a light balsamic vinegar dressing) both polished off with a sprinkle of toasted black pepper for a subtle kick.
Moving to the mains, the Linguine Ai Frutti Di Mare was a highlight of the evening. This perfectly cooked durum wheat pasta was paired with a rich and creamy pink sauce and an array of seafood, making each bite a perfect harmony of flavours and textures.
For seafood lovers, the Grigliata Di Pesce Con il Pescato Del Giorno was a showstopper. The platter featured a generous selection of grilled seafood, including lobster, prawns, fish, and calamari, all expertly seasoned and grilled to perfection, delivering robust, smoky flavours.
The Costolette Di Agnello was equally remarkable. These tender lamb chops were served with roasted potatoes, spring onions, and a flavourful thyme and garlic sauce, which elevated the dish with its aromatic richness.
Decadent desserts
No meal at The Italian Job would be complete without indulging in their decadent desserts. The Tiramisu was nothing short of perfection, with layers of creamy mascarpone and espresso-soaked ladyfingers. The Pannacotta Vaniglia E Cardarmono, a vanilla and cardamom panna cotta with strawberry coulis, was rich and velvety, offering a balanced sweetness that wasn't overwhelming. The Affogato Al Caffe, vanilla ice cream soaked in espresso coffee, was a delightful twist on a classic dessert.

GRILLED TO PERFECTION AT AL TERRACE DOHA
Al Terrace in Souq Waqif is a charming restaurant with a recently revamped traditional Qatari ambience. Azqa Haroon walks us through her food experience at this restaurant.
As soon as I arrived, the combination of indoor and outdoor seating immediately caught my attention, especially the large terrace with views of the vibrant streets of Souq Waqif. It's an excellent choice for big gatherings, offering both space and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Appetisers that delight the senses
The meal began with three vibrant salads served as appetisers: Tandoori Bread Fattoush Salad, Date and Tamarind Hummus, and Beetroot Salad. The presentation was visually stunning, and each dish offered unique flavours. The Date and Tamarind Hummus was a true highlight – a delightful twist on traditional hummus, with the sweet and tangy notes dancing on my taste buds.
The Tandoori Fattoush had a unique depth, and the crunch of the pita complemented the freshness of the vegetables.
Next came the Punjabi Samosa, served piping hot. Stuffed with perfectly spiced potato filling, it brought a comforting warmth and a flavourful reminder of traditional Indian street food.
Mouth-watering mains
The mains truly stole the show, starting with the Lamb Tikka and Grilled Shrimps. Both were expertly grilled to perfection and were so tender that they melted in my mouth. The lamb, served with pita bread, grilled vegetables, chili, cucumbers, yogurt salad, and garlic sauce, was peppy yet balanced. The shrimp, paired with jarjeer salad and tahina sauce, was juicy and fresh, accompanied by the soft pita that enhanced the dish. The grilling was spot-on, bringing out the natural piquancy of the meats without overpowering them.
Al Terrace's Signature Chicken Biryani, cooked in dough, was a burst of aromatic smack. Each spoonful had a rich complexity that highlighted the traditional cooking methods, making it one of the tangiest biryanis I’ve tasted.
The Butter Chicken was another standout, cooked with tandoori boneless chicken in a creamy tomato and cashew nut gravy. The smooth, rich sauce paired wonderfully with fresh, buttery naan, creating a heavenly combination. Both dishes reflected the chef’s expertise in balancing spices and showcasing local twang.
Refreshing mocktails and decadent dessert
Throughout the meal, I indulged in a selection of mocktails, each as refreshing as the last, adding a fruity and light counterpoint to the rich zest of the food. The meal concluded with a delicious Kulfi, served on a bed of almonds, which was the perfect, cool finale to a zingy experience.
A traditional Qatari dining experience
Overall, my dining experience at Al Terrace was delightful, from the wellthought-out dishes to the warm, inviting ambience. The food, prepared with a touch of traditional Qatari tastes, was rich and satisfying. The restaurant’s new look, paired with its authentic relish, ensures that it’s a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal with friends or a grander gathering, Al Terrace offers something special for every occasion.
