y how time flies. Just over a year-and-a-half ago we launched our first issue with absolutely zero expectations. Of course we had substantial goals and lofty dreams but to reach issue number ten is unbelievable. It is so surreal. The MAP Management Group that brought you Uptown’s hottest restaurant and bar, 5Church is at it again. It hasn’t even been a full year since 5Church opened their doors and they are already in the process of opening a second restaurant concept called Nan and Byron’s that will be located at the site formerly known as Vinnie’s Raw Bar in Southend. When asked how they came up with the name and what we can expect from the new concept they replied, “It had to be the opposite of 5Church which is modern, sleek and New American, so the new place had to be traditional, Classic American. The terms that kept coming to mind were ‘American Gothic’ and ‘Farmhouse Chic’. After doing some reading about the painting ‘American Gothic’ we found out that the artist, Grant Hill, used his sister, Nan and his dentist, Byron as the models for the classic work and the name just stuck.” Jamie Lynch, the chef behind 5Church’s award winning menu will be back at the helm and whipping up what he likes to call “Traditional American Fare.” We asked Jamie to elaborate on the menu and he replied, “Imagine all the great dishes grand-
26 • qcexclusive.com • May/June 2013
ma used to make; meatloaf, chicken pot pie, wings, etc”, but all will be made with the creativity and attention to detail that Chef Jamie has become famous for. Another key element to 5Church’s success is the innovative design and atmosphere that was created by MAP partner, Mills Howell and his award winning interior design team from Reaching Quiet. Mills said they are completely gutting the old Vinnie’s interior, and the aim is to develop a space that is, “Comfortable, lived in, warm, classic, and welcoming. The hope is that it feels like a cool version of home; a home away from home.” They are also adding a 1200 s.f. outdoor patio which is sure to be slammed during the warmer months. The food is bound to be good, and with an extensive wine list and specialty cocktail menu of over 20 handcrafted drinks that have been r&d’d in their lab at 5Church, the drinks will be tasty and the scene will be vibrant. If you want to learn more about Nan and Byron’s from the MAP team, you will surely find them and most of the Charlotte socialites celebrating the one year anniversary of 5Church on Thursday May 16th in what they say will be “A serious Throw Down.”

father once said, “Son, you have champagne tastes, and a Coca-Cola wallet.” After years of various careers in fashion retail as well as having run a “private membership club for exotic and luxury automobiles in Charlotte,” Kevin Fielden, spurred on by his father’s comment, decided to open a men’s consignment shop. It was a natural turn of events for Fielden. His grandfather, a master tailor founded the American Clothing Company in Nashville, Tennessee, and his father, Jilson, belonged to an era-gone-by where “men wore hats, everyone dressed to the nines, and friends enjoyed the simple pleasures of a picnic…” Fielden was raised with the understanding that if you were savvy and understood the phrase “more bang for the buck,” you would be able to find high-end brands that would satisfy one’s love of fashion for a lesser price. Hence, the beginning of a new age in men’s consignment stores, Jilson’s Men’s Consignment, located off Providence Road behind the new Hubee D’s and directly across the street from Zio Italian Restaurant. Honoring his father, Fielden named the store Jilson’s. Housed in a home built in 1930, Fielden says, “It’s a “place where you can be yourself, have a laugh over a good beer, and avoid the push-and-shove drudgery shopping at the mall, or simple boredom found elsewhere.” Hang out and 28 • qcexclusive.com • May/June 2013
stay a while. Jilson’s inventory reflects a “healthy combination of styles.” Resort wear, top-level boardroom meeting attire, or casual weekend wear, Jilson’s has it all. Along with clothing, shoes and accessories, Jilson’s welcomes small furnishings and décor items that “fit a gentleman’s taste. You will find Armani to Zegna, and everything in between- Canali jackets, Ferragamo ties, and simple J. Crew polos.” Fielden continues, “Prices will generally range from 20% to 40% of what you would pay at a high-end retailer.” “My goal,” says Fielden, “is to have Jilson’s become the place that gentlemen all over Charlotte refer to as ‘my shop’.” Opening day is Tuesday, April 30th. “We accept both new and gently used clothing. Those still with tags are a plus.” Because Fielden is a huge car buff, be prepared for some special touches that honor vintage motor racing such as automotive watercolors by local artist Dan McCrary on display. Food and refreshments, such as fine craft beers will be available. “We are excited to be partnering with Natty Green’s Brewing Co.,” says Fielden. What we are looking for in our customers, are those “individuals who appreciate fine quality, craftsmanship and style, but also those who seek good value for their money.” For further information please go to www.jilsonsconsignment.com.

rowing up in Gainesville, Florida without a father made childhood tough for My 1st Suit’s founder, Christopher Williams. “It was a rough start not knowing how to work with a male who had interest in getting to know me,” says Chris. Sadly, this scenario is becoming more common in today’s “modern family”, and the importance of positive male role models is grossly undervalued. a husband, and they demonstrate, define, and teach all of the little life lessons that equip a boy for the journey into manhood. It wasn’t until his freshman year in college before Chris encountered a mentor that became his positive male role model. He invited Chris to meetings and lunches and allowed him to just observe. Although Chris had limited understanding about the subject matter, he allowed him to ask questions about the experiences, and most
importantly, took the time to answer his questions. According to Chris, “I was exposed to so much it got me interested in learning more about business.” The culmination of this experience came when Chris’s mentor bought him his first tailor made suit. His experience inspired Chris to create My 1st Suit. My 1st Suit is a nonprofit organization that aims to help young men between the ages of 18-26 who are first generation college students and come from low income areas. Chris explains, “Most of these young men may have never met productive men in a setting like ours. Due to a serious lack of exposure, they are just accepting life for what it is versus pushing themselves to their fullest potential.” The program provides them with resources and exposes them to male business leaders, entrepreneurs, and mentors in order to stimulate social wellness and self-esteem. Candidates enter into a four weekend intensive that includes classroom discussion, special projects, mock networking scenarios, etiquette classes, and much more. At the end, My 1st Suit’s tailoring partners provide the suit they receive and wear for the first time at our annual gala. Chris is looking for companies willing to step up and creatively engage through sponsoring special projects, and men in the business community to volunteer to join their intensives by way of purchasing or donating a suit, sharing their story, or giving financially to help provide top notch experiences. Donations can be given by emailing info@my1stsuit.com or sending funds to P.O. Box 366 Mooresville, NC 28115. Getting involved personally can be done by contacting Chris directly at chris@my1stsuit.com and more information can be found at my1stsuit.com.

irca Interiors and Antiques (CIRCA) has grown from what once was only a “small bungalow of treasures into a premier retail destination.” Started by best friends Jane Schwab and Cindy Smith, CIRCA is famous for its “elegant mix of antiques, signature love of neutrals, and a light touch of ‘now’.” Smith and Schwab were not always interior designers. Smith studied in Europe after college and eventually taught school. Schwab, on the other hand, had a degree in Art with a minor in Interior design from the University of South Carolina after which she attended Parsons School of Design in NYC, but eventually chose to work for Xerox Corporation in sales. It wasn’t until 1979 when Smith’s love of antiques became the incentive to start CIRCA. At first, CIRCA only sold antiques, gifts, and upholstery. Over time, it grew into what it is now, a full service interior design studio. Specializing in “peaceful elegant and timeless” creations of “beauty,” CIRCA’s philosophy focuses on creating “comfortable, beautiful, livable homes that reflect the personality and lifestyle of the client besides bringing a sense of welcome and sharing to all who enter.” When a client first comes to CIRCA, “we set up an initial on-site visit with the client to learn their background, wants and needs.” If it’s a new house being constructed, CIRCA works closely with the architects. If it’s a pre-existing home, a new design plan is established. “We es-

The design style and era CIRCA draws their inspiration from is “classic traditional with currents of modern elements.” Smith and Schwab insist on “quality and value,” paying close “attention to detail.” Having unique shops in both Charlotte and Birmingham, a design studio in Charlotte, and interior projects around the country, CIRCA has years of experience that separates them from their competitors. Travel and research for sources and merchandise from around the world, a passion for beauty and quality, and a love of antiques are characteristics that make CIRCA a success. Combine these with a dedicated staff, a support team, and a company that insists on customer satisfaction, and there is no room for dissatisfied customers.

Inspiration Cascades
Overstream Inc. designed this amazing natural aquifer-fed swimming pool inspired by the Gan HaShlosha National Park in Israel.
H
ome is a place you return to everyday, where after a long day at work, you want nothing more than to kick off your shoes, grab the newspaper or remote, and sit in your comfy chair. But most people forget that Home encompasses not only indoor living space, but also outdoor living space. Both are equally important. Mother Nature wants you to enjoy the heat of the sun, to bear witness to the starry skies at night, to listen to the sounds of crickets and birds singing, and to feel the wind’s soft caress. Based on this description, Home is a place of refuge and should be treated as such. Overstream Poolscapes shares these feelings. Home to them is an “idea,” a “vision,” and “a place you want to live.” Being passionate about their work, Overstream wishes to make their client’s dreams come true. They start with a vi54 • qcexclusive.com • May/June 2013
sion and together begin building. One such vision took place in Ballantyne Country Club. The home was a traditional style, Brick, two-story home built on 0.25acres. During a trip the family took to Israel, they visited the Gan HaShlosha National Park near Beit She’an. There they enjoyed the naturally warm water and decided upon their return home they would recreate the look and feel of the very same site they had just left in Israel. “Contacting us at Overstream, we set up a meeting and proceeded to design renderings combined with the vision and desires of the customer—a natural aquifer-fed swimming pool.” “We suggested the use of boulders in order to bring a more natural, rustic feel to the project. Unique [in] character, we didn’t simply place them in or around the pool; we actually made them part of the deck, pool, and spa structures.” The
[Design+Style] OUTDOOR INSPIRATION
shape of the pool is a free-formed kidney bean shape. Because the customer wanted a small pool, “we were able to add a round spa about 7’ in diameter that is raised 14” above the pool. Water cascades over a large slab of flagstone and runs into the pool. The irregular patterned flagstone on the pool deck and coping, walkway, and spa veneer gives the pool a more natural lagoon-like feel. Overstream decided to go with salt water because it “is softer and does not have the chemical feel of traditional chlorine.” By incorporating plants, such as windmill palms, into the surrounding landscape, the outdoor living space became an oasis. Overstream is proud of their work and go to great lengths to “use the finest products and craftsmanship” available. John Ogburn, Design Consultant, spearheaded this project. He has been with Overstream Landscaping and Irrigation, Inc. and Overstream Poolscapes, Inc. for three years. This particular “project was our opportunity to be creative and to think outside the box in order to make our customer’s dream a reality. We not only helped them bring a little bit of Israel to Charlotte, we enhanced their outdoor living space and made it more enjoyable.” Just listen to what the customer had to say, “Overstream spent time listening to our ideas and crafted a plan for the project. John Ogburn captured all the elements we hoped for and brought perspective and creative solutions to both. We enjoyed watching the team work as artists…Thanks for making our dream come true.” For further information please go to www.overstreaminc.com. 56 • qcexclusive.com • May/June 2013

PARISIAN MARKET
Les Puces by Traci Zeller
Charlotte designer,Traci Zeller, visits the City of Light for Paris’ famous markets.
A
re you familiar with the phrase, “There’s nothing new under the sun?” Many established designers – including those for well-known furniture retailers -- have gleaned more than a bit of inspiration from their visits to “le marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen,” more simply known as Les Puces (“The Fleas”). That’s just one reason no trip to Paris would be complete without a visit to the most famous Parisian flea market, located at Porte de Clignancourt. Some of the other reasons would, of course, be the incredible variety of furniture, fashion, books, and vintage objects – much of which looks nothing like what you might find stateside! As an interior designer, I carefully shopped Les Puces in search of unique, beautiful items that fit my aesthetic and would work for my home and the homes of my clients. Let me share a few tips and tricks of Les Puces so that you, too, can find a treasure to bring back to Charlotte. That way, every time you see the piece you purchased, you’ll be instantly transported, if for a brief moment, back to the wonder that is Paris! 58 • qcexclusive.com • May/June 2013
Put on your comfortable (yet chic) shoes, because Les Puces is actually fourteen different markets spread over 753,000 square feet. Of course, you can choose to see as much or as little as you like, but there’s no doubt that you will be walking a lot. Saturday and Sunday are the best days to visit Les Puces. Some vendors are open on Monday, but go early, as those vendors will typically be straightening up from the weekend. Don’t be fooled by the merchants on the outskirts of Les Puces. There are plenty of vendors selling clothing and household goods, and although you may find some treasures, those pieces are generally not the antiques. More importantly, that’s just the beginning of what lies ahead. My favorite markets were Marché Dauphine, Marché Malassis, Marché Vernaison, Marché Paul Bert and Marché Serpette. Marché Dauphine has an incredible selection of vintage fashion, books, art prints, and textiles. If you are a fan of the Art Deco period, Marché Malassis provides

unbelievable inspiration. MarchÊ Vernaison is a wonderful market in which to find a variety of small items starting as low as 1 Euro. Of course, many higher priced items are readily available! I was enamored with the vintage luxury leather goods, from Louis Vuitton to Hermes to Goyard, at MarchÊ Paul Bert and MarchÊ Serpette. Of particular interest to me were the remarkable luggage trunks, many of which were covered with various hotel stickers to commermorate the original owner’s travel. Know that prices can be negotiated. A trusted friend (and Paris resident) estimates that vendors include approximately a 20% premium to allow for bargaining. It is absolutely acceptable to ask politely if a vendor would consider a lower price. Of

course, if a particular item is priced unreasonably high, there is always the possibility that the vendor is more of a “collector” than a “merchant.” A few vendors are less inclined than others to part with their personal favorites. Overwhelmed? Consider a guided tour! Many English-speaking guides are available to help you navigate the markets. This would be particularly helpful if you are searching for a certain piece or would simply like some assistance to visit the best shops and possibly negotiate purchases. I had a wonderful experience with the Paris Travel Group. The Paris Travel Group creates personalized itineraries based on your interests and ensures that you experience the best that Les Puces or other parts of Paris has to offer. Bonne vacances!

Napa on Providence brings the flavors of Northern California to the Queen City.
The Napa region in Northern California produces what is considered to be the best California wines in the world. “It’s a style, an esthetic, and a feeling. It’s simple, rustic, and earthy,” much like the restaurant Napa-on-Providence located in Charlotte. The restaurant, owned by Charlotte Prime, LLC, specializes in simple, rustic foods that utilize locally grown and seasonal ingredients. Partnering with Wild Turkey Farms, Tega Hills, Ashley Farms, Prestige Farms, Cloister Honey, and Maple Leaf Farms, Napa-onProvidence also uses Miry Clay Pottery and Tim Fletcher Crafts. Its inner workings highlight local businesses, demonstrating a strong relationship with community. The atmosphere at Napa-on-Providence is “simple yet elegant” combined with a “modern twist.” Using earthy tones and a rustic décor, the restaurant reflects what you would find in Napa. The wine dispenser technology used allows for the safe keeping “of open bottles of wine for up to 60 days,” thus allowing the restaurant to pour selections no

one else in town can,” as well as, assuring “the guest that no matter how long the bottle has been opened, the product will taste just as good as on the first day it was opened.” The restaurant’s California varietals carry an “esoteric” variety that “you would find in other countries but are still represented to the highest quality in California.” Several of the notable brands featured are “Robert Foley, Melka, Smith Madrone, Kennan, T-Vine, Burly, Silver Oak, Shane, and Arista.” Along with barrel dispensed wine and beer, there is also a “streamlined bar.” Here you will “not find 20 types of vodka and gin but a full representation of the best styles of spirits and accents for them. Infusing cocktails allows Napa-onProvidence to take “premium spirits and create new tasty drinks with fresh local ingredients.” The bar is viewed just like a kitchen, where “bartenders are essentially chefs” using fine liquor and fresh ingredients to create a balanced drink that pleases the palate.”
FOOD
The kitchen is run by Executive Chef, Bob Fox who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Delgado Culinary School in New Orleans. After graduating, he interned at Palace Café in New Orleans, moved to the Outer Banks but eventually relocated to Charlotte fourteen years ago. His skill as Chef is proven by Napa-on-Providence’s extensive menu. Lunch is served Monday-Friday at 11:30, Sunday brunch starts at 10:30, and dinner is every day of the week. The restaurant closes at various times: Monday-Thursday at 10:00 pm, Friday at 11:00 pm, Saturday 5:00-11:00 pm, and Sunday at 9:00 pm. When perusing the menu, you will find that Brunch offers such dishes as Napa Benedict, Bananas Foster Waffle, Poached Eggs and Porchetta Hash, Shrimp and Sausage Benedict, Herb Fried Chicken and Waffles, and a Napa Parfait. Other dishes that are an “absolute must try” and that appear on the dinner menu are Poulet Rouge: Ashley Farms roasted half chicken, roasted vegetables, with horseradish pan gravy; Perrin Plate: a charcuterie board served on wood from an oak wine barrel with six options of cheese and six options of meats, served with local cloister honey; Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs made daily and served on crispy ricotta polenta, and Napa Short Ribs: braised beef short ribs, potato puree, baby carrots, haricot verts, and a wild mushroom demi glace. A full dessert menu is featured on the black boards and are all made in-house. The Crème Brulee and Bread Pudding are two of the most popular. Napa-on-Providence is a restaurant that appeals to a “broad range of people, from young professionals to seniors in our community. We have something for everyone. Our price point is under $30.” For further information please visit www.napaonprovidence.com. 76 • qcexclusive.com • May/June 2013

The Insider’s Guide To The Florida Keys
s far as the continental United States goes, it doesn’t get more tropical than the Florida Keys. This island chain at the southern tip of Florida spans 120 miles from Key Largo to Key West and is surrounded by miles and miles of aquamarine water, mangroves, reefs, and more. Adjacent to the Everglades, Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge, and the Dry Tortugas, the Keys are a perfect destination for the vacationer, aqua-lover, beach bum, and sportsman. For many mainlanders on the east coast from as close as Miami to as far away as Maine and Canada, the Keys are a sanctuary: an almost surreal place to escape the real world and leave all of your troubles behind. That’s the exact reason why I retreated to the islands just weeks ago. Winter had taken its toll. Even as the temperature began to climb, early spring days in Charlotte were spent dodging rain and wiping away thick layers of yellow pollen. Candidly, it was becoming a bit depressing. So I figured: what the hell! It was time to go on an adventure. With our baggage and gear packed and the most important item in tow, a Boston Whaler with a very shallow draft capable of exploring most of the waters in the Keys, we started our journey down the open road. The fourteen hour drive, although monotonous, passed fairly quickly and as we turned onto US 1 for the final stretch our excitement was at an all time high.
ADVENTURE Our first stop on our way to mile marker zero and Key West, was the gateway to the islands, Key Largo and the Upper Keys. Although the traffic is understated at terrible, and the environment somewhat resembles the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach, this area does have some spectacular offerings once in the water. It is a hub for divers, snorkelers, and lobster-ers and is worth the two days we alotted to explore. John Pennecamp Coral Reef State Park is a destination for virtually everyone passing through Key Largo due to its accessible and lively reef that is perfect for children and families to enjoy. However, if you want to get away from the crowds, crank up the boat engine and visit Cheeca Rocks and Alligator Reef, both just three to four miles offshore and marked with buoys. These destinations are a little intimidating because it is likely that you will be either alone or one of just a handful of boats on a vast reef surrounded by all kinds of underwater wildlife including sharks and barracuda. Although slightly creepy, snorkeling in this area is very liberating. On the other side of Key Largo, the bayside, droves of sailboats float in the turquoise bath water of picturesque Buttonwood and Black Water Sound. Folks on jet skis, water skis, and float tubes abound. Contiguous to both Sounds, thatched roofed, open air bars and restaurants are easy to find. Just dock the boat and order a Mai Thai. On westward to Islamorada and the Village of Islands. This area is known as the sportfishing capital of the world. It is a haven for tarpon and bonefish, as well as the guides that chase them. For those with a boat and a desire to hunt the “silver king” or the “grey ghost” the Bay View Motel’s boat ramp is your gateway to these legendary fly fishing flats (Note that the Bay View Motel rents boats for around $100 per day which is an affordable way to access all of this water). We were there for the elusive bonefish and found small schools of them on the flats near Hawk’s Cay, Shell Key, and Matecumbe Key. Tarpon were also rolling around the bridges and along the channels beside the flats chasing mullet. For fly anglers targeting either species, tarpon or bonefish, be prepared for the fight of your life. For those not into angling, Islamorada is still very appealing. It is spectacularly beautiful, quaint, and laid back. The island has the feel of a by-gone era and is the perfect place to escape. Cuban eateries, local dives and shops, and some classic marinas like Bud n’ Mary’s offer a plethora of things to do. For boaters venturing out into the waters of the Village of Islands, whether it be to the reefs or to the backcountry, you are for the most part on your own. Beyond the barrier islands of Lignumvitae and Shell Key (bayside) and Indian Key (oceanside) the enormity of the ocean is fully realized. It is expansive, allowing for days, if not years of exploration. One of my favorite aspects of this area is the peaceful silence that exists here. Other than the occassional putter of a 90 Horsepower Evinrude pushing through a flat, there is literally no other noise but the sound of the ocean. If you need to clear your head and just unwind this may be the world’s most perfect place to do it. After Islamorada, we traveled to Marathon, a small city in the middle keys with access to arguably the best reef in the island chain, Sombrero Reef. A short fifteen minute boat ride from the 33rd Street public boat ramp gets you to this popular reef. Virtually all of the guided
snorkel and dive boats from the middle keys take visitors here. Over fifty boats were tied to buoys and over two hundred snorkelers were in the water exploring the magnificent reef when we were there. The water is extremely clear and the assortment of wildlife is mindblowing. You can see everything from mangrove and red snapper to barracuda, all while feeling comfortable because of the abundance of people around. It is a great reef for children and families. The other Marathon must is the breakfast served up at The Wooden Spoon. Who would’ve thought you could find a perfect biscuit, salty sausage gravy, and smooth grits nearly sixteen hours away from the Carolinas. From Marathon we drove a short hour to Key West. This historical town, known as the Conch Republic, is full of fun and excitement. Duval Street is lined with shops, restaurants, and bars including Sloppy Joe’s, the bar Hemingway made famous. To be honest it is a must based on reputation alone. It also is a shadow of its former self. Pictures of its heyday line the walls of the establishment reminding you that the times certainly have changed. After a quick in-and-out at Sloppy Joe’s, navigate to where the locals hang out, The Green Parrot and Irish Kevin’s. For the adventurous, stop into Garden of Eden, the only bar I’ve ever been to where nudity isn’t just allowed but is praised. It is quite the experience but it is not for everyone so proceed with caution. It does give you a story to tell when you get back home though. During the day, the Southern Most Point is a tourist attraction that you should see once and just once, Smathers Beach (although manmade) is a great place to relax, and bicycles are the way to travel. Traffic in this town is bad to say the least, and a beach cruiser can make your trip. You can rent them at most hotels in Key West. Rounding out our trip was a three day stay in Sugarloaf Key and Big Pine Key. After two days in Key West away from the water and the boat, it was refreshing to be back floating along the flats of Sugarloaf. Bow Channel is your access to the key’s bayside and its seemingly endless shallow water. Navigating here is difficult because of the depth but it is worth it. The angling is spectacular and is probably the best in the lower keys but angling isn’t the highlight of this area. Snipe Key and Marvin Key are. These two keys, just four or five miles into the bay, are sheltered to the North by a rock wall and when the tide goes out these two islands showcase some of the only natural beaches in the Keys and definitely the best. They are spectacular beaches reminscent of the white sandy flats in the Bahamas or Turks and Caicos and probably even less traveled. At the right time you can have the entire islands to yourself. For me these two Keys and the miles of walkable shallow water are the highlight of the entire island chain. That is if it wasn’t for the lobster reuben at Sugarloaf Key’s very own Mangrove Mama’s which takes the cake (or Key Lime Pie if you’d rather). Waking up to our last sunrise, we packed our bags and gear and with boat in tow headed back down US 1 to I-95 and towards the Carolinas. Our once in a lifetime trip had come to an end, but then again there’s always next year. For you however, this could still be your year to go. May and June are some of the best months to travel to the Keys. It’s not too hot yet, the fish are rolling, the water is calm and crystal clear, and drinks are flowing in the Conch Republic.

Gratitude
his year we had the opportunity to partner with the good folks at the Queen’s Cup Steeplechase, an absolutely amazing event that we feel sets the bar for all sporting events in our city. If you haven’t been to the steeplechase you should start planning for next year’s races because they are truly a “Can’t Miss” and if you have been you know how fun the event really is. The races are exhilarating and the tailgating is world-class. However, behind the scenes, there is so much work that goes into these races. We wanted to take this time to thank everyone that volunteered and helped make this event so successful. We also want to remind everyone that the Queen’s Cup is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to raise money for the race beneficiary. This year’s beneficiary was Purple Heart Homes and although the race this year has passed you can still donate to their wonderful cause of providing home improvement solutions to injured Veterans. To donate to Purple Heart Homes or just to learn about their amazing story please visit PurpleHeartHomesUSA.org.
