WEEK 3 READING: TITLE OF READING
Question 1: What is Pictorial Space according to Le Corbusier? (Maximum 100 words) According to Le Corbusier, pictorial space is “that which cannot be entered or circulated through; it is irremediably space viewed fron a distance, and is therefore eternally resigned to frontality”. In other words, it is the flat space viewed from distance that one cannot make through.
Question 2: The Flatness of Le Corbusier’s painting’s are attributable to two properties. What are they? And what are these pitted against?(Maximum 100 words) The object is registered as pure extension, as flat. The flatness of his paintings are attributable to color and texture. These pitted against the distance or depth in the painting and it is no longer a matter of representing the space seperating one object and another in the real world.

MARIO’S WORLD
3
1ST MARIO’S WORLD
This is the scan image of my first hand drawing of Mario world. I tried to make every obeject accurate with the help of guide lines.
4
COMBINED MARIO’S WORLD
After combining two worlds, I added more details like the windmill and ladders. The river between two worlds can be considered as both a connection and a distinction. In order to make the image looks creative, I drew smiling faces.

WEEK 4 READING: TITLE OF READING Complete your reading before attempting these questions:
Question 1: Explain the difference between Pictoral (in this case perspectival) space and Projection? (Maximum 100 words) Persepectival space: It has a vanishing point which is located at infinity and records what already exists. Projection: It represents universal geometries and infinite space. It is an illusory space which is irrational in nature.
Question 2: Where did Axonometric projection first arise, and why? (Maximum 100 words) It first arose in a military context. The reason is that it is a means of measuring and prediction.

ILLUSTRATED MARIO’S NEW WORLD
To make two worlds have a connection, I drew a river. The color of the original pictures are not so bright. When I drew the new objects like the little girl and smiling cloud, I chose light colors. I added many small but interesting elements to make the overall picture rich layers and creative. I hope the whole world can express the happiness.
