Pink Praline Apple Tart
Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 30 to 35 minutes Makes: 6 servings Ingredients: ½ pkg (397 g) puff pastry, thawed and cold ¼ cup ground almonds 1 tbsp granulated sugar 2 to 3 tart green apples, peeled and thinly sliced 10 pink pralines, crushed Almond Struesel ¼ cup all-purpose flour 2 tbsp ground almond 1 tbsp icing sugar 1½ tbsp unsalted butter, cut in pieces Method: Roll pastry to 12 x 9-inch rectangle. Trim edges to straighten. Using fork, prick pastry all-over, leaving ½ inch edge. Place on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Sprinkle pastry with ground almonds and sugar. Arrange apple slices, in three long rows along length of pastry, overlapping if necessary, leaving ½-inch edge. Sprinkle apples with crushed pink pralines. Almond Streusel: In separate bowl, stir together flour, ground almonds and icing sugar. With fingertips rub in butter until mixture forms clumps. Sprinkle mixture over apples and pralines.
Bake in 375 F oven until edges are golden and apples are tender, 30 to 40 minutes. Let cool.
