As a authour, social media influencer, podcast host, inspiration speaker, Ayurveda expert, DJ, and dance enthusiast, Sahara Rose lives a full life. Sahara first took the spot light after publishing her book named ‘Ayurveda (Idiot’s Guide)’. Rose has influenced many through her meditation training and education about Ayurveda. She also hosts the Highest Self Podcast, the #1 spirituality podcast on iTunes with over 25 million downloads. “Sahara is known for making spiritual + Ayurvedic wisdom fun and relatable so it can serve the needs of today’s people. She believes the key to spirituality is embodiment. When she’s not writing books, recording podcasts or facilitating workshops, you can find her dancing, DJing and drumming.” Here is a statement embodying what Sahara’s beliefs are, “I believe the most important thing we can do to raise the vibration of the planet is to help others discover their dharma, soul’s purpose.I went from being confused, overwhelmed and uncertain about my purpose to being clear, aligned and embodied in it.”

Inspired by the diminish of the Great Salt Lake, Alkali is meant to remind us of our effect on the natural world around us. Colors are derived from the halophiles microorganisms that give the water its pinkish color. The organic shapes were taken from the outline of the Great Salt Lake, from 1987 to today. This collection provokes thoughts on how our actions result in the collapse of wildlife around us.

“Mental health is a fundamental component of human health across all stages of life and is vital for the physical and social well-being of all individuals, communities and societies. Mental health is not simply the absence of a mental health condition. Rather, it is a state of well-being, in which individuals are able to live to their fullest potential, cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and contribute to their community. Mental health is determined by a range of socioeconomic, biological and environmental factors, such as work conditions, lifestyle and health behaviors. Through a diverse set of interventions, the WELL Mind concept seeks to address and support these drivers of mental health with the goal of improving the cognitive and emotional health and well-being of those living, working, learning and spending time in built spaces.”

Sumptous statement baths and idyllic high-country interiors provide ample design inspiration for the summer.
With its dramatic woodland backdrop, this iconic glass house creates a perfect rejuvenating retreat for the young new client, Sahara Rose. Sahara was seeking a weekend Pediatr that would encourage a fresh start. She needed a space that supported her ayurvedic, yoga, and meditation habits. This redesigned home meets those needs through dedicated meditating spaces, exposure to daylight and biophilia, and a kitchen featuring a steam oven and a Lomi product. Each space has an intentional color pallet inspired by views seen from home. The home is a smart home, including voice shades from Lutron and dimmable lights to conserve energy. The home also meets many of the WELL Building Certifications specifically under the Mind category. Wit h the house being mainly glass there are no shortages of views that incorporate nature into the space. Each is design ed to reflect and support the views seen outside. With the simple clean lines of the exterior of the home, it created the perfect nod to a contemporary and modern interior. The design style is simple but is full of color to bring enjoyment to Sahara’s personality. The hope is that this space will bring a new experience in the woods to this new client.
“no matter where you live, your home should be driven by context, culture and history of place.”

classic color in bold placements takes this aweinspiring view to the next level. The living room features a tone-on-tone blue palette of color to direct the eye to a beautiful glass chandelier and an Andy Warhol art piece. This space will allow Sahara to relax and creates a large space for gathering and socializing to replenish the soul.
Enveloped in nature was an inspiration for this small yet unforgettable den sitting room. Recreating the night sky with dark royal blues and pops of yellow, this space is bold and peaceful. This seamless design is a hidden focal point of the home saved for the clients.
“There is nothing more exciting than incorporating bold, vibrant colors with a striking mix of genres and periods to create lively, magical spaces that inhabit memories and enrich lives.”
-Jamie Drake, Interior DesignerOriginally this room served as a simple guest/flex space, however, with Sahara and the forefront of the designer’s mind, we opted to create a space specifically for her. As the queen of dancing and twerking, a dance studio could not be a better space for Sahara Rose. This room features a wall length of mirrors reflecting the beautiful nature around, this will giv e Sahara the effect she is dancing in nature. The unexpected element of this space is a bed that drops from the ceiling allowing this space to have dual purposes, a dance studio, and a guest room. The bed suspended above the dance floor with a blue paneled detail doesn’t detract from the beauty or function of the room. Inspired by Drake Anderson’s Bold book this room embodies the theme “Why Not”.

“Despite the contemporary interest in steam showers, steam is mankind’s oldest therapy. The simple act of sitting in a steam room on a regular basis confers wellness benefits that have been recognized for centuries by cultures across the globe. Despite its long history, steam continues to surprise people with its wide range of health and wellness benefits. One study found that initiating a thorough sweat response in the body can help remove toxic heavy metals, including mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium. These dangerous substances are notoriously difficult to excrete from the body by any other means. While you’re feeling better about your skin, you may find yourself breathing easier as well. As every yogi knows, breathing deeply can help with “stress reduction, insomnia prevention, emotion control, and improved attention.” One recent study found that steam treatments may boost the respiratory system and reduce symptoms associated with bronchitis and other lung disorders.
The science on steam shower benefits continues to reveal new and ever-stronger support for the meaningful role that steam may play in making people healthier and happier. And beyond science, we can turn to thousands of years of anecdotal evidence to support the same conclusion: Humans love to steam because it ma kes us feel good. Whether it’s easier breathing, better skin, emotional balance, or fewer aches and pains, the indelible link between steaming and wellness can’t be ignored. And who would want to, when it’s so much more pleasant to cast off the n oise and pressure of the day and be enveloped in a soothing, invigorating cloud of steam.”

“STEAM THERAPY IS ANOTHER EXCELLENT WAY TO ACHIEVE RELAXATION AND PEACE OF MIND.”
Sahara Rose’s new glass house in the woods will celebrate the beauty and richness of the area around it. What was once a simple glass shell now includes intentional furnishings and thought-out details. Each selection and the combinations convey a feeling of luxury, peace, and boldness that aligns with the needs of the client. Featuring Well Design guidelines, toxic-free spaces, and meditation spaces, this space is grounded and serves as a healing retreat for Sahara.
With a fresh update and personally designed spaces, Sahara Rose can live her dharma to the fullest. “Spirituality is one of my favorite things to teach and practic e. My journey began with my health issues and became so much more. I realized that we are not our bodies or our minds, but rather souls that live inside of them, and that we can only truly come into harmony when we balance the three. “
“It is essential that every room, every space, feels comfortable on a personal scale, and with a connection to nature.”

At a young age I discovered how important design is in our world. It impacts the life we live, how we live, and our emotions. I have a strong passion that good design is for everyone. My talents and skills that have developed at Utah State will allow me to be an author of design, every design has a story which is something I can share. Growing up in Cache Valley has given me a strong background but I am exited to travel and explore the world. I’m recognized for my ablility to curate mood boards, hand renderings, and time management. Me and my husband have big dreams, but we believe that if you can dream it you can reach it. We hope to travel the world and inspire others to reach their dreams. Being a designer is my passion and I love to be able to solve the many problems that arrive on a project. This quote from John Cary puts into words how important design is to me. “Well-designed spaces are not just a matter of taste or a question of aesthetics; they literally shape our ideas about who we are and what we deserve in the world.
That is the essence of dignity — and both the opportunity and the responsibility of design. For good. And for all. “
