COMP Cams Mechanical Camshafts are for race applications in all “Super� category cars. These cars are more than capable of running well under the 8.90 second index. In terms of performance, the crisp, immediate throttle response, excellent repeatability, and the fact that they are relatively easy on valve train parts, are why many racers turn to COMP Cams. The aggressive mechanical camshafts lobe profiles are designed to withstand the highest of valve spring pressures. Like flat tappet camshafts, solid camshafts are noisier than those found in hydraulic systems.
These are pure race camshafts, not made for vehicle applications that require accessary drive equipment like power brakes or air conditioning. Racers need to fully assess their vehicle-based equipment and rear end gearing to achieve top performance. Unlike hydraulic camshafts, the roller lifters featured on a solid camshaft do not include an adjustment for valve train component expansion, and while more costly than flat tappet lifters, can be reused. hile the M-Rack is still a relatively new product, it’s origin dates back to the year 2008, when the idea of a form fitting roof rack was first conceived. The original prototype was developed in 2009 for a truck build. Numerous design challenges presented themselves along the way, but were eventually overcome through research and design, and the quality M-Rack you see today is the finished product. There is no “universal” option for the M-Rack. Each rack is designed specifically for each vehicle model. While the overall look remains the same, the design is completely different. Driven Break-In Oil Is Formulated For Engines Requiring Low Viscosity oils.
C
onventional 5W-20 Break-In Oil offers unmatched protection for internal components. BR20 promotes proper surface mating during the critical break-in process and chemically assists with piston ring sealing, thanks to a proprietary anti-wear formulation that doesn’t rely on conventional friction modifiers. It also features a low detergent level that allows the “fast burn” ZDDP additive to adhere directly to all ferrous metal wear surfaces for maximum scuffing protection. 46

Driven engineered BR20 for use in engines that call for the use of 0W-16, 0W-20 and 5W-20 viscosity oils, as well as for overhead cam engines with tight bearing clearances. It is good for dyno testing, one night of racing or up to 400 miles on the street, with no ZDDP or break-in additives required.Viscosity of typical of 5W-20.
Improved Over Original Driven has re-formulated its popular BR Break-In Oil to provide even better protection than the original. Customers may notice the 15W-50 weight oil’s lighter color, which Driven attributes to the additive package and detergent changes made as a result of testing in conjunction with Total Seal. The improved formula offers more than 30 percent better protection than the original version developed 12 years ago. “Because Driven constantly looks for ways to improve our 47

products, we do update formulas from time to time,” Certified Lubrication Specialist Lake Speed Jr. said. “This newest formula provides increased ring seal for better vacuum, less blow-by and more horsepower.” Comparison testing showed the improved formula reduced the camshaft wear rate by 3.56 microns/hr during a traditional 30-minute break-in period, based on Adcole precision measurements. Driven’s conventional BR Break-In Oil is recommended by multiple camshaft manufacturers. It contains
optimum levels of Zinc and Phosphorous for maximum protection on flat tappet camshafts and lifters and the added film protection needed on aggressive roller valve trains during initial break-in, as well as promotes ring seal.
