About the Tournament Since its inception (1997), the RAHB Charity Golf Tournament has raised over $233,000 in support of local charities, RAHB’s Home Ownership Affordability Partnership, and the Karan Barker Memorial Scholarship Fund. This year, all proceeds will go to the Karan Barker Memorial Scholarship Fund!

About the Karan Barker Memorial Scholarship Fund “The golf tournament is about much more than just the prizes … It’s also about the funds raised for such a great cause, the Karan Barker Scholarship Fund. Higher education has become both very important and expensive, and it’s a privilege for RAHB to help our members and their children and grandchildren through the scholarship program.”

The Karan Barker Scholarship is named for Karan Barker, a 25-year RAHB employee and former executive officer. Karan was an outstanding executive officer, and won both the Tony Kafun Award from OREA and the W. Frank Johns Award from CREA in recognition of her contributions to her real estate association and the real estate profession.

Scholarship recipients are the children or grandchildren of RAHB members or Association staff who have demonstrated academic excellence and a high level of involvement in school and/or their community. To date, RAHB has awarded $76,500 to 60 students!
