ENVIRONEMENT . SOCIAL MIX . INTEGRATION
Explanatory text Site The contest rules stipulated the site to be located in an urban area. Thus, our team opted to implant it in the center city of Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital and largest city in the Maghreb. h Aware of the various issues associated with this large urban area, especially those related to sustainability and social identity, we favored the site of the old arenas in Casablanca. j Beyond its historical value residing in the memory of the bullfight “Corrida”, the 10.000 square meters land offers the ideal setting to embody a collective housing project, an innovative scope which offers intelligent answers to various issues in the urban area. h

ENVIRONEMENT
Theoretical orientations Anfa district
Our aim was to develop a conceptual approach which is sustainable and contextually situated, we defined three major theoretical factors: h
Site of old bullfight arenas «Corrida» k
ENVIRONEMENT Integration of eco-technologies (solar panel, etc) h Local material use (mud and Salé stone), rain water storage Composite structure due to structural constraints
SOCIAL MIX Our site is located between two adjacent districts, socially morphologically distinct: «bourgogne» (Level+7 buildings, middle class) and Maârif (two level houses and Level+5, upper class). Therefore, we aim to project diversity and social cohesion. The building by its shape and functional organization offers a sociopetal space. h
SOCIAL MIX
INTEGRATION
