AIM AGENCY PRESENTS LAYERED FASHION
INTERVIEW WITH .... NAARNISSE VANESSAJANE new styling
by BonieFacio
Today we’re thrilled to sit down with Lola Nippo, model, stylist, dancer, and lifelong student of creativity. Originally from Spain, Lola discovered Second Life through her sister and found in it not just a pastime, but a passion during a difficult moment in her real life. From her early days as a nightclub host to her current standing as a respected fashion model and instructor, Lola’s journey through SL is filled with dedication, humor, challenges, and unforgettable moments.
With roots in real-world fashion thanks to her talented seamstress mother, Lola brings a unique perspective and genuine love for style that shines through every outfit and every runway walk. Whether she’s pushing a vacuum cleaner dressed as Freddie Mercury or mentoring new models with the same spirit of excellence that once inspired her, Lola proves that fashion in SL can be both glamorous and deeply human.
In this interview, she shares her story. from backstage laughs to moments of triumph, her philosophy on learning and collaboration, and her hopes for the future of SL’s fashion community. Let’s dive in and get to know the vibrant force behind the avatar.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to talk to us. Our readers are very interested in who you are, where you come from. Can u tell us a little bit about who is behind the avatar?
I’m Lola, I’m from Spain, and I discovered SL through my sister, who had been a player for months. Due to a health issue, I had to stay home for a while, and it became an escape valve for me during that time. It was also a great help during the lockdown
What was your first job intention when you came into second life? How did you feel about the fashion industry?
I think we all start out knowing little more than the world of nightclubs, so I briefly worked as a Host. When I discovered that it was possible to create models in SL, I immediately knew it was what I wanted to dedicate myself to. Right now, although I occasionally explore other things like dance, fashion remains my greatest passion. It’s also a passion in RL, ever since I was in diapers, as my mother was a very talented seamstress. I grew up surrounded by fabrics and threads, lulled by the sound of the sewing machin
What are your hobbies and interests besides Second Life?
If ‘STUDENT’ could be a profession, I think it would be mine. I always love learning new things, so it’s easy to find me in RL watching tutorials, taking classes, basically studying whatever topic I’m passionate about at the moment. I also love literature and writing—and, of course, Netflix
Let’s get into your favorites. 1. What is your favorite personal style? 2. Who are your favorite designers? 3. Who are your favorite places to visit? What is your favorite Movie?
When it comes to my personal style, I’m quite eclectic, although I have a soft spot for timeless classics. I like to take inspiration from the trends
of each season, but I believe a great, high-quality wardrobe foundation is essential. I tend to follow trends more in accessories. I absolutely love Haute Couture, so it’s hard for me to name just one designer because I admire something about each of them.
Honestly, that’s a tough question for me to answer. Can I say my mother? Both my RL mother, who was a seamstress, and my SL mother, who is a designer in SL. (She’s Caroline from Carol’s Store). My favorite places? If we’re talking about RL, anywhere that allows me to disconnect. I love traveling, discovering new countries and cultures, but I also enjoy a relaxing weekend at a beautiful spa or heading out to the mountains. Sometimes, you don’t have to go far to find stunning places. As for my favorite movie... ummm... maybe Remando al Viento (Rowing with the Wind), which is about the Romantic movement and the creation of Frankenstein.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? How did you decide to be a professional model? Who or what inspired you?
I decided to become a model after seeing a Facebook post offering classes. Fortunately, I’ve had amazing colleagues along the way. If I had to highlight someone, it would be Margot LaSalle, who was there for me when I wanted to give up at the start, as well as my instructors, Absinthe Stephano del Piero and Sholee. They were tough on me, but they taught me to love my work even more, to demand 120% from myself in everything I do, and to grow as a model. And they’re still teaching me! With every show, every rehearsal, there’s always something new to learn—you’re constantly evolving
Are u currently in an Agency? When did you sign with an agency? What agencies are you currently part of?
I’m part of several agencies, both in fashion and dance, but I’m most active with AIM as a model and Officina del Sogni as a dancer. I work with other agencies occasionally, and I always enjoy participating in charity shows whenever I can.
Can you share the funniest or most interesting story that happened to you since you became a model?
I completely messed up the runway during my final exam! Honestly, I’ve had so many laughs along the way, and I hope to keep having them. One of the most surreal moments was during a competition when the backstage director said something like, ‘I remind you that wearing underwear is mandatory.’ I guess we all zoomed our cameras underneath, and one of the girls was wearing a cage on her… um… you know... she had his testicles enclosed. She got angry and dressed up as a nun. I have to admit, I couldn’t help but laugh, although it ended up costing her a disqualification
What do you think makes your stand out? Can you share a story?
I’m not the kind of model who enjoys being the ‘Queen Bee’; I’m more of a hardworking and disciplined person. I believe in doing things well with common sense. I think the funniest moment of my career was during an AIM show about Pride, where I dressed as Freddie Mercury. I could hear the audience go wild for a moment as I pushed a vacuum cleaner down the runway. It was, for me, the most fun styling I’ve ever done, and I hope it won’t be the last!
Tell us about your education: Have you attended fashion modeling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? Does it costs a lot of money? or can you teach yourself?
I’ve completed six courses at four different academies. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish the first one, even though I was just one final exam away. However, two years later at Audace, they created a Valedictorian award specifically to honor me as the most outstanding student in the academy’s history. After that, I completed the basic course at EC Models and finally the Trendy and Innova courses.
For me, Innova was the most challenging but also the most inspiring. In fact, after finishing it, I started teaching at Innova. While it’s true that there are self-taught models, I believe that the guidance from a course is essential. There are courses at all price points, from free to incredibly expensive, but what you should really value, beyond the cost, is the quality of the instructors. Are they active models? Do you attend shows and see that they can truly offer something valuable? You may have both bad experiences and beautiful ones, but from each of them, you’ll take away important lessons
What advice would you give someone starting out?
I would tell them to never lose the excitement of those first times, to always stay updated, and to constantly strive to improve themselves. To avoid getting caught up in competitions with other models or unnecessary drama, and most importantly, to walk the runway confidently without thinking they’re wearing a crown, because crowns can fall.
What do you prefer: Modeling, blogging, print work, photography, competitions? and why? Modeling is definitely pure adrenaline, the thrill of controlling your avatar, paying attention to instructions, battling lag, and the warm reception from the audience. I enjoy taking photos, but even though I was a blogger for a time, I prefer to be the one who creates my own styling for the shoots. Fashion competitions, while a great learning experience, can be exhausting. It’s good to live the experience, but at the moment, it’s not something I plan to do again as a candidate.
Do you have any limitations? Would you model any kind of clothing at all? Well, I’ve modeled without clothes, especially when doing tattoo modeling, where you have to walk the runway with as little as possible. My preference is for things to be well-designed, no matter the style, but with quality. I believe that as a model, you can make even an ugly piece of clothing look attractive. In fact, it would be pretty boring if we didn’t face challenges and setbacks!
What do you think about the competition in this industry, and the relationships models have with each other?
I don’t think models are different or detached from what happens in SL; just like anywhere, you encounter both good and bad people. Fortunately, there are more of the former. It’s beautiful because most of my colleagues always help each other out, whether it’s when something isn’t properly edited or when there’s a language barrier, there’s always someone there. Plus, you make great friends along the way. Since the positive side of backstage weighs more, I prefer to focus on that. As we say in my country, What doesn’t contribute, gets set aside,’ and we keep working.
Where do you see yourself in a year from now? Do you have any dreams or goals you want to have achieved?
Within a year, due to RL reasons, I see myself being more outside than inside the fashion circuit. I’m not sure if that will open other paths, but sometimes it’s challenging to balance real life with the timing of shows. I hope that in time, when everything normalizes, I’ll be able to return to the runway more frequently because I truly enjoy it.
If you could change something in the fashion world in SL what would it be?
I think that perhaps fashion in SL should embrace people more. Many people don’t know that this whole world exists and possibly many people would enjoy it if they knew about it, both as models and spectators. If I had to change something it would be our playful lag, which although it is a challenge for the models .
Is there something you would like to add to tell our readers or future models? I would love for them to come closer, to peek into this world. It’s pure energy! Maybe, and this is in general, they should step out of the shopping events and nightclubs, because there’s a whole world of entertainment outside, and among that, the world of the runway.

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Jayden Mercury, Second Life model, photo artist, and the visionary behind the blog In SL Style. Known for his striking imagery and distinctive fashion sense, Jayden has been inspiring the SL fashion community since 2007. His blog is more than just a showcase of style, it’s a vibrant reflection of his creative journey, blending fashion, Photography, and storytelling into a one-of-a-kind virtual experience.
When we asked Jayden how it all started, he shared that blogging began as a hobby but quickly evolved into a deeper passion. Through collaborations with standout brands like GILD, Gabriel, ODIREN, and many more, he’s built strong relationships within the community while continuing to refine his storytelling through powerful visuals. Drawing from his real-life experience as a photo artist, Jayden’s work captures not just clothing but emotion, movement, and mood.
But Jayden’s creativity doesn’t stop at fashion. He’s also the mind behind NeverendingSL, an immersive storytelling experience where art comes to life and players are invited to dive into magical chapters like Mad Wonderland and Sakura Tales. As he continues to evolve as both a blogger and storyteller, Jayden remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in Second Life. We can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next.

Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?
Welcome to In SL Style! I’m Jayden, and this blog is my creative outlet where I share my love for fashion, photography, and events in Second Life. As someone who thrives on artistic expression, I’ve created this space to highlight the unique styles, looks, and experiences that catch my eye in the virtual world. Whether it’s through vibrant snapshots or in-depth posts, I aim to inspire readers to explore their own style and creativity within SL. In SL Style is all about celebrating diversity, trends, and the endless possibilities of self-expression in the virtual world..
Describe how did you first get into blogging?
I began blogging back in 2007, working with a small but passionate circle of brands like GILD, Gabriel, and some incredible pose designers. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a way for me to connect with the Second Life fashion community and showcase the creativity and talent behind these brands. Blogging became my platform to explore virtual fashion and style while building meaningful relationships with designers. Over the years, it’s been amazing to see how the SL fashion world has evolved, and I’m excited to keep sharing that journey with my read
Can you tell me some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?
One of my biggest strengths in blogging comes from my real-life experience as a photo artist. My passion for creativity has always been a driving force, and I love telling stories through the images I capture. In blogging, I bring that same approach, using visuals to evoke emotions, tell a narrative, and create a connection with the viewer. Whether it’s capturing the essence of a new outfit or showcasing a virtual event, my love for storytelling through pictures has really shaped my style and voice as a blogger.
What was your greatest failure and what did you learn from that?
One of my greatest challenges has been finding the balance between my real-life photography skills and Second Life photography. While the two share similarities, capturing a scene in SL while also highlighting the fashion and making sure the lighting complements the clothes has been a learning curve. Early on, I struggled with over -editing or missing key details in the outfits. But through trial and error, I learned the importance of balance—making sure the scene tells a story while still showcasing the clothing in the best light. It’s been a rewarding challenge, and I’ve grown through each setback.
Second Life is a big place, do you have any other interests besides blogging?
Yes, I have quite a few! I’m also a model in Second Life, and I love showcasing my unique stylings on the catwalk. I enjoy helping other models find their own style, whether it’s through posing or discovering their confidence in showing off their looks.
Another big part of my SL journey is NeverendingSL, a creative project I started in 2020. It’s a personal passion of mine, built around storytelling and immersive experiences. The story revolves around an artist whose drawings come to life through a magical pen and paper. Each chapter of the Neverending story offers players a chance to follow clues, uncover hidden storylines, and immerse themselves in fantastical worlds. We’re now on chapter 13, with past chapters like Mad Wonderland, Sakura Tales, and Driftwood
Paradise shaping the ongoing narrative. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to keep expanding it.

Why did you start with blogging? Describe your writing process, from concept to publishing. How do you stay motivated? I started blogging to share my passion for fashion and storytelling in Second Life. It’s a way for me to connect with the community and showcase unique styles and creative experiences. My process begins with inspiration, whether it’s an outfit or a theme, and I then set up a photoshoot, ensuring the visuals capture the mood. Afterward, I write the post, tying the story together with the images. Staying motivated comes from my love for creativity and seeing how my work resonates with others. Plus, ongoing projects like NeverendingSL keep me excited and driven.
How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
I stay motivated by setting deadlines and looking forward to the latest creations from designers. The excitement of exploring and showcasing new styles and trends keeps the blog fresh and engaging. The constant flow of inspiration and creativity helps me stay dedicated to maintaining and growing the blog.
The fashion industry has a lot of bloggers, how do you get in contact or how do you pick the designers to blog for?
I’m fortunate to have built a strong network of designers and fashion events that I’m proud to be a part of. When choosing what to feature, I focus on styles and designs that inspire me and align with my personal taste. It’s important for me to feel a connection to the designs, as it ensures that my blog reflects genuine enthusiasm and creativity.
We bloggers know that Blogging is really time consuming and a lot of work. How do you deal with organizing your posts?
I aim to blog at least once a day, pushing myself to maintain a consistent schedule. Of course, life can get in the way sometimes, but I always strive to stay on top of my posts. Planning ahead and setting aside dedicated time helps me manage the workload and keep everything organized.
How would you describe your personal style and is there a person who is a fashion inspiration to you?
My personal style is all about uniqueness and creativity. I love experimenting with different looks and letting my mood influence the blog stories I share. Each post reflects a piece of who I am, as I put a lot of myself into showcasing the styles and stories that resonate with me.
How do you attract new readers? Describe the methods you’ve used and their impact on site traffic? What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?
To attract new readers, I use a combination of methods. I actively engage with the SL fashion community through collaborations with designers and participating in fashion events. I also share my blog posts on social media platforms, using eye-catching visuals and engaging captions to draw attention. Additionally, I leverage SEO strategies and maintain a consistent posting schedule to keep readers coming back.
For boosting site traffic, I believe the best social media strategy is to create visually appealing content that resonates with your audience.
Regularly interacting with followers, using relevant hashtags, and collaborating with other bloggers or influencers can help expand your reach. Engaging stories and authentic connections with your audience also play a key role in attracting and retaining readers
Can you tell me about few sources from where you get products for review on your site?
I get products for review from a variety of sources. Some of the key ones include MANHOOD, GOTHCORE, and the NEO JAPAN EVENT, where I was selected for the Fall round. I’ve also been blogging for a long time for ODIREN, as well as TANAKA, TREVOR, and DerDieb. I’m truly proud to be part of each of these teams and appreciate their trust in me. The list of brands and events I work with goes on, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to feature their products on my blog.
What would you like to achieve in the future? Any Dreams? In the future, I hope to continue expanding my influence in the SL fashion community and further develop my blog and creative projects. One of my dreams is to create even more immersive and interactive experiences with NeverendingSL, exploring new storytelling techniques and engaging more deeply with my audience. I also aspire to collaborate with more innovative designers and fashion events, pushing the boundaries of virtual fashion and creativity. Ultimately, I want to keep growing as a creator and inspire others through my work.

We were honored to welcome Miss Naarnisse to the Model’s Workshop,a true icon in the Spanish Second Life fashion community and the reigning MISS MUNDO VIRTUAL 2013. With a career defined by passion, resilience, and a relentless drive for excellence, Naarnisse has not only graced the virtual runways but also shaped the next generation of talent through her academy, In-Nova Models. In this exclusive interview, she shares her journey, insights into the evolving modeling industry, and her vision for the future of fashion in Second Life. Get ready to be inspired!
**1.** How are you today? Fine, thank you! Very excited
**2.** What motivated you to pursue a career in modeling within Second Life? Discovering that modeling itself was a combination between my love for fashion and a way to give free rein to my imagination.
**3.** As the winner of MISS MUNDO VIRTUAL 2013, how do you perceive the evolution of the fashion industry since then?
If I’m honest, I don’t see evolution but rather involution. I see less and less quality in the models and that is because we have become more lax, the discipline that existed before is being lost.
**4.** What aspects of participating in modeling competitions did you enjoy, and do you miss that experience?
Work under pressure. Ugh I love it, and that great pressure brings out the best in me. And I also miss the challenges a lot. Creating outfits that you have never done before.
**5.** You are also the owner of In-Nova Models, an academy that provides essential tools and guidance to help individuals excel in modeling, offering courses from basic to advanced levels. What inspired you to establish this academy?
Well, when I studied, I did it in several academies, and I realized that they were incomplete syllabuses and that to have a good foundation a model had to take several courses. I also realized that the best academies taught not from scratch, but rather assumed that the students already had a good level. For that reason I decided to create In-nova. A course that gave everything, but starting from scratch.
**6.** How do you balance your modeling career with your responsibilities as an academy owner?
Oh that’s very easy. I have a great team of professionals by my side who support me in everything! In-nova would be nothing without Steph, Sholy or Lola. I have the best team in the world!
**7.** What challenges have you encountered in the modeling industry, and how have you overcome them?
The truth is that the biggest challenge for me has been English. I arrived in Sl with a very low basic level of English since it is not my native language. It was a very tough challenge for me, but with the Google Translator and colleagues who did the translations for me, I moved forward and little by little I learned English myself and today I am very proud to be able to say that I defend myself very well.
**8.** Could you share some memorable experiences from your modeling career that have significantly impacted you?
I’m going to tell you the most super mega hyper WOW moment for me. It was the day when my SL modeling idol, Wicca Merlin, told me, Naarnisse Absinthe, that she admired me and that I was her idol. I almost died! I cried like you have no idea. That day I told myself: wow Naar, now you’ve reached the top!
**9.** What advice would you offer to aspiring models looking to make their mark in Second Life?
Follow your dream, don’t give up, fight for it and don’t let yourself be influenced by negative people. If you want, you can.
**10.** How do you envision the future of virtual modeling and fashion in Second Life?
I see a future where fashion has been dominated by AI and clothes are transformed on the catwalk. Where the models will be the paragons of the avant-garde creating and setting trends in SL.
We’re diving into one of the most essential, yet often overlooked, tools of runway modeling: poses. While we’re not focusing on the art of posing today, we are exploring the creative process behind pose creation, and how the right pose can elevate your runway performance from good to unforgettable.
We’re thrilled to be joined by Vanessa, a talented and experienced runway model, and the visionary behind MODEL POSE. Known for her practical, stylish, and storytelling-driven poses, Vanessa brings both personal experience and creative passion to her work. Whether you’re a new model building your first collection or a seasoned pro refining your walk, her insights are bound to inspire.
**1** How are you today?
Ty Bonie, I am good, busy as always, but that is by choice.
**2.** You are the owner of Model Pose and the creator of those poses for the runway. What made you decide to start your own business?
I kind of fell into this. I would not describe myself as a business woman, I suck at business. The shop came about because I had made so many poses for myself that it seemed sensible to offer them to others. At the time I opened Model Pose I was not aware of that many pose stores for models, so was happy to provide another resource. Making poses is fun, so I occasionally put out a pose set created
specifically to fill a perceived ‘gap’ in the shop, but most poses originate from my own work as a model.
When I was starting with modeling/ competitions I realized very quickly just how expensive collecting poses is. I also like to be creative with poses, and even to an extent ‘tell stories’ with poses to compliment stylings. That meant I needed a LOT of poses, and poses I couldn’t readily find for sale.
I had previously come across a YouTube video about a free program called Qavimator, so I decided to research that. With the help of many more YouTube videos, plus a lot of determination, trial and error, I was able to master the program enough to make static poses. It remains a dream to learn to do walks but I haven’t as yet found the time and resolve to tackle that much more difficult task.
Being able to make poses means I can extend my creativity as a model. It also means I am not fearful any longer of ‘impossible’ stylings. My avatar, styled, is my fashion doll and I can kind of bring her to life with my poses (saying that I use other pose stores frequently, and mix and match the poses I use).
*3.** You are also a model. How do you balance your modeling career with your responsibilities as an creator?
Being a bit of a workaholic helps! I am good at organising my time, so I juggle tasks. Modeling is important to me but I haven’t set my cap at being ‘Miss Top Model’ so I don’t feel the pressure of that. I have not put all my creative eggs in one basket so maybe that helps me keep things in perspective as a model.
**4.** What advice would you offer to aspiring models looking to get the best poses for modeling and where to look for?
Look everywhere is my first suggestion. I even trawled ancient pose sets on Marketplace ( I can recommend Locuala Madruga’s Vitalis Animatum store and the edgy sets by Hadaluna Daine’s Morphine store, both on Marketplace). I like Sapa too for unusual and edgy editorial poses.
I am sure you are all aware of Posesion Poses and Isomotion, Propose and Pink Moon. There are less known older pose stores still around, like Wicca Merlin’s Poses and Fairey Poses. Other great pose stores like Baxe and Armonie, and Xwalk for walks do not show up in Search, so ask model friends for landmarks.
By all means check out non-modeling pose stores for poses but remember a modeling pose for runway needs an extended move into pose and out of pose, and a lot of photographic poses do not have this. Photographic poses that snap into and out of the pose look ugly and unprofessional on the runway.
I have found that different pose stores tend to have different house styles. Posesion Poses can be very dramatic for instance, and Baxe poses very elegant. The difference in general walking styles is even more pronounced. My favourites here are Isomotion and Xwalk. Get to know the different pose stores and this can help you decide where to go for particular stylings.
There are also some basic rules of thumb every model should know, such as don’t use poses that distort or wreck the mesh you are wearing, don’t stick your hands into your body in poses and transitions. Try to look as realistic as possible and match the feel of your posing to the style you are showcasing.
Finally, girls try male poses and guys try female poses. As a female model and creator of poses, I find that male poses can give me a very edgy modern look. Experiment - always :)
**5.** How do you envision the future of virtual modeling and fashion in Second Life?
This is a hard question for me to answer as I haven’t been a model for that long, and understand the big heyday of modeling was years ago. Currently modeling seems to not be winning against blogging, but it keeps clinging on.
Modeling and Blogging needs to find a way to co-exist. While both are focused on promoting fashion, they do it in very different ways. Fashion shows use models in a more creative holistic experience and one that has a social dimension too. A fashion show is an event, a blog piece is an advertisement. Blogging, to me, is more hard edged and commercial. They both exist in real life so they can in SL too. Fashion shows need to be promoted in a clever way.
Dance shows are huge in SL because they promote themselves as a creative experience, so why not fashion shows? Perhaps fashion shows need to re-connect to a more holistic creative experience, to push boundaries, be less of the ‘mall show’ and more ‘fashion theatre’.
I came across a very old youtube video of a show called Miamai’s Golden thread from 2013. It blew me away. No amount of blogging can
recreate an experience like that, and no I won’t remember a blog page from 11 years ago.
