PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE MONTH
As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves in a season of contrasts. November and December are often painted as the pinnacle of celebration, brimming with shimmering lights, joyful gatherings, and indulgent parties. But for some, this time of year casts a quieter, more introspective shadow, a moment to pause and reflect, often in solitude. It’s a time when the fashion we wear becomes more than just an aesthetic choice; it becomes a comfort, a shield, and a statement.
In this issue, we embrace these dualities, exploring themes of warmth, resilience, and creativity. Photographer Eriikkk captures the essence of intimacy and grandeur in a series that reminds us of the power of storytelling through a lens. Blogger Manuela Brianna graces our pages with her sharp eye for detail, showcasing ensembles that radiate sophistication, even in their simplicity.
And, of course, we couldn’t resist throwing in a dash of playful competition with our Coats Styling Challenge. This challenge invites our readers to wrap themselves in their boldest, coziest, or most imaginative layers, because if there’s one thing that defines this season, it’s the ability to stay chic while staying warm.
At ModeLS, we embrace the magic of the holidays, the dazzling lights, the joyful gatherings, but we also honor the quiet beauty of reflection. In this season of warmth and connection, it’s important to remember those who face the shadows of cyberbullying or struggle with loneliness, often in silence.
To anyone staring at a wall, feeling unseen or unheard: know that you are not alone. Whether you’re dancing beneath festive lights or finding comfort in a solitary moment with a cup of cocoa, hold onto the truth of who you are. Somewhere, someone cares deeply for you, even if you can’t see it right now. You matter, and your light makes the world a brighter place. From all of us at ModeLS, may your season be filled with style, warmth, and meaningful moments, however you choose to spend it.
Stay inspired,

Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?
I’m a passionate photographer with a love for capturing nature, environments, and people. This artistic drive led me to turn my photography into a career within Second Life, where I focus on fashion. Being well-dressed and staying up to date with trends is something I truly enjoy, and through my blog, I aim to showcase SL fashion in a way that highlights the beauty of each piece. My goal is to combine my love for photography and fashion, creating stunning visuals that stand out in the virtual world.
Describe how did you first get into blogging?
When I first joined Second Life years ago, I noticed that stores often struggled to showcase their products effectively. Recognizing this need, I decided to use my photography skills to help. Over time, I channeled my passion for fashion into creating a blog that highlights the best pieces from SL stores. My goal is to provide high-quality visuals that allow these products to shine, making them more appealing and accessible to the community.
Can you tell me some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?
I am an extremely perfectionist person, very committed to what I do. I am very detail-oriented and I try to put a clean photo on my blog in the photo itself so that the person can see the content of what I am bugging, in this case the clothes or accessories. I try to give a very special highlight to the pieces so that when people look at the photo they can clearly see the items to be advertised.
if I had to choose something else to do, in the case of another job, I would choose to be a DJ because it’s something I also really like. Two things I really love are taking pictures and music.
What was your greatest failure and what did you learn from that?
I’ve never experienced failure per se. I’ve had experiences of really wanting to blog for a store and being rejected, sometimes more than once, but that’s part of it, so I don’t get sad or disappointed. It happens to everyone. I just wait for the next opportunity for the store to accept me.
Why did you start with blogging? Describe your writing process, from concept to publishing. How do you stay motivated?
I started blogging because I saw the need that stores had to display their pieces. In reality, the need to have good quality photos so that stores could display their pieces in a very visible way. So I decided to create my blog to be able to show these items in a very unique way. I focus a lot on the piece that I am blogging about and I always try to do my best, the best of my work so that the store is seen in the spotlight. During the time that I take photos, I never lack motivation. Every day, I create new poses. I see new ways to please my audience because I do it with love.
How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
I always try to create new poses. Creativity is the key that makes each photo unique. The love I dedicate to my photos and the time I dedicate to each one of them always make me want to seek perfection even more. So every day I take it as if it were my first photo.
Second Life is a big place, do you have any other interests besides blogging?
What I like doing most in SL is actually taking pictures of people wearing their clothes. Anyway,
The fashion industry has a lot of bloggers, how do you get in contact or how do you pick the designers to blog for?
In the vast world of fashion bloggers, it’s not me who picks the stores, but rather the stores that choose me. Designers reach out to collaborate, inviting me to photograph their latest creations.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to showcase their work, and it’s always exciting to bring their designs to life through my photography. The process is a wonderful exchange, where creativity meets opportunity, allowing me to highlight the best of what each store offers.
We bloggers know that Blogging is really time consuming and a lot of work. How do you deal with organizing your posts?
As my blog is only for photos, I usually take photos at night, when I am free from my tasks, so I can dedicate myself to the maximum, thus highlighting the best of the photo.
How would you describe your personal style and is there a person who is a fashion inspiration to you?
I’m a person who takes great pride in my appearance, which is why I pour so much love into my blog. I don’t have a specific inspiration— my passion for fashion comes from my love of being well-dressed. I mix and match trends that suit my style, creating my own unique look. I don’t follow every trend or like them all, so I blend elements from each to create something that feels true to me. Fashion is about expressing who I am, and I do that by making my own statement with every outfit.
media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?
In my case I use social media, I interact and share photos.
Can you tell me about few sources from where you get products for review on your site? For my blog, I focus solely on showcasing products from stores. Designers and store owners reach out to me, offering their latest pieces for photography. They choose me to capture their items in a way that highlights their unique details and style. I don’t actively seek products myself, as the stores approach me with their new releases, and I take care to present them beautifully on my blog. This allows me to work with a variety of designers, ensuring my content stays fresh and diverse.
How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? I take pictures practically every day. I am hired by many stores so every day I have to take pictures of a new product.
What would you like to achieve in the future? Any Dreams?
I would like to undertake more, have a fashion store naturally and be able to continue in this area that I love so much.
How do you attract new readers? Describe the methods you’ve used and their impact on site traffic? What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a
by BonieFacio
Thank you so much for you time. I know for some of you its not easy to getting an interview. Do you mind me asking ... are you nervous? No
Our magazine usually does interviews with models, photographers, bloggers, .... , but i think there is so much more on the grid. We all know the club scene but there are also the LIVE SINGERS. Our readers probably like to know a bit more about the person behind the avatar. Who are you? And where are you from? Can you tell us 3 great characteristics of yourself?
One characteristic is that I like soft music and then explosive music. It’s like I have two voices sometimes and it’s fun for me to have a high level of variation in music thanks to my vocal range. Another characteristic is that I like to work on original music with my current second life companions. That makes everything more fun between us. A third characteristic, I like pop culture a lot, so I’ll practically try to use different avatars and sing movie songs
Who are your musical influences, and how have they shaped your style?
My musical influences are a blend of iconic voices and unforgettable bands that have left an indelible mark on my style. Chester Bennington’s raw emotion, Kurt Cobain’s unapologetic authenticity, Kelly Jones’ soulful storytelling, and Billy Idol’s electrifying charisma have all inspired me in unique ways. Of course, I can’t leave out the timeless brilliance of The Beatles, whose artistry continues to shape the way I approach music. These legends, along with countless others, have helped me craft a sound that honors their impact while staying true to my own creative journey
Do you ever get bored doing what you always do? How do you keep your job exciting? I’ve been thinking about this for a long time. And it’s the reason why I play different genres of music, or many rock music styles. I also learned to play different instruments. But music has always been a way out of my problems, so it’s hard for me to get bored of it.
Can you share an example of a time when you had to adapt your musical style to fit a specific project or audience?
Basically, in Second Life I do rock covers. But it’s fun to change it up from time to time. So sometimes I do acoustic songs, salsa and jazz. I try to adapt to everything and find a suitable set list.
Have you ever dealt with stage fright or performance anxiety? How did you manage and overcome it?
Have I faced stage fright or performance anxiety? Absolutely—just like anyone else, I’ve had my moments of doubt and insecurity. But when those feelings creep in, I focus on something simple yet powerful: the joy of connecting with my audience. I remind myself that we’re all here to share a moment of fun and inspiration. By channeling my energy into creating a positive and uplifting experience for everyone, I naturally start to relax and enjoy the moment. When I’m having a great time, that energy becomes contagious, and suddenly, any anxiety fades away.
How do you stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in music?
I have a large repertoire, I always try to update myself. But I believe that music is not about trends. Once a song appears, it can stay alive for a long time.
Getting followers or people attending your set isn’t easy. How to you get people to come to your set? Singing in Second Life was a nice accident. Many friends asked me to stay but I had a crazy RL. When I started getting more gigs, I started to dedicate myself more to this in a proper way. So I sang in many places spontaneously to attract the attention of the right friends. Doing publicity on my own and doing collaborations.
Sometimes in venues people can be really hard, jealous or even a bully when they don’t like the music. How do you deal with drama?
I try to be very professional about this. And I will never give extra opinions. I always welcome recommendations, but most of all I love it when someone tells me that my music has touched them.
Besides singing are there other things you like to do in second life? ynamic world of fashion. However, I’ve learned to channel it positively, us I really like science fiction places, and I always do. Every day there is something new in Second Life. For me, everything is fine as long as someone tells a joke.
To end i like to give you a chance to promote your club. You meet someone that doesn’t know the club, how would you convince them to come and work there? And if you had the chance to make a slogan or advertisement what would be the headliner?
I don’t have a club, but I invite all my friends to join my Second Life group, called “Diego Adrians Music”. A lot of friends are there, trying to have a fun time with music and jokes. Sometimes we do contests or giveaways.
Can you describe your work ethic and commitment to your singing in SL, how do you prepare yourself? I’m as responsible as I can be. I’m online long before a concert starts. And I always do some mantra to feel good before.
Any last thoughts you like to tell our readers? Music heals, music does not abandon you. Heal, open your eyes and use your energy to do good.

It is a regrettable aspect of human behavior that bullying continues to exist, crossing the limits of our real lives and invading virtual environments such as Second Life (SL). Speaking about experience i would like to let everyone know you are not alone. Lets all make a better SL.
While many individuals leave bullying behind during their childhood, some bring these detrimental behaviors into adulthood, continuing harmful practices online. In SL, bullying, although it violates community standards, frequently goes unreported due to uncertainty, fear, or a lack of clarity about what constitutes bullying.
This article intends to clarify the issue of bullying in Second Life, assisting users in recognizing and effectively navigating these situations. By sharing personal experiences and those of others, this piece also aspires to equip readers with the knowledge and confidence to safeguard themselves in a digital environment.
At its essence, bullying involves utilizing power, coercion, or intimidation to control or harm others. It can manifest as overt actions or subtle behavior, appearing as a single incident or a recurring campaign. In Second Life, just like in the physical world, bullying often reflects a disparity in power—whether through social influence, technical expertise, or group structures.
The main types of bullying are:
1. Physical Bullying
2. Emotional Bullying
3. Verbal Bullying
4. Cyberbullying
Each type can present itself in distinct ways within a virtual setting like SL.
1. Physical Bullying
Although avatars cannot physically harm one another, certain actions can imitate physical aggression, such as:
• Bumping or pushing: A conscious effort to shove your avatar, disrupting your experience.
• Blocking movements: Intentionally standing in front of your avatar to hinder or annoy them.
• Stalking: Trailing your avatar across different locations, instilling a sense of intimidation.
Example: You’re enjoying a performance at a venue when another avatar continuously bumps into you. Initially, you think it’s unintentional, but as time passes, the behavior escalates, making it evident that you are being targeted. By using tools like “movelock” or reporting the conduct to the venue’s management, you can regain your space and safety.
2. Emotional Bullying
Emotional bullying in SL frequently entails social manipulation intended to isolate, exclude, or belittle someone. Common strategies include:
• Leaving someone out of group dialogues, events, or activities.
• Circulating false rumors to tarnish reputations.
• Misusing private conversations to manipulate words and provoke conflicts.
Example: An avatar joins a group chat but conducts all interactions through private messages, deliberately sidelining one person. This subtle exclusion can lead the targeted individual to feel unwanted or invisible.
3. Verbal Bullying
This involves using written or spoken language to hurt someone. In Second Life, verbal bullying often surfaces through:
• Harassing messages in private messages (IMs).
• Public insults or mockery in local chats.
• Employing gestures or sounds to mock or belittle.
Example: An SL club owner repeatedly sends messages to a staff member, despite requests to cease. The targeted individual mutes the bully, yet they return on different accounts, continuing the harassment.
Using muting and blocking functions are effective methods to halt verbal bullying, and Linden Lab’s reporting system can help address ongoing cases.
4. Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is the most widespread and damaging form, often reaching beyond SL to platforms such as Facebook, Discord, or YouTube. Illustrative instances include:
• Disclosing private information or images without permission.
• Coordinating group harassment or “mobbing.”
• Posting defamatory or false information online to humiliate someone.
Example: Someone is using or obtains your real-life (RL) details and harasses you across various platforms. Implementing privacy settings and reporting the actions to platform moderators are important steps in addressing these violations. Or gives your private information to others.
Many SL residents are reluctant to report bullying for several reasons:
• Uncertainty: Doubts about whether the behavior constitutes bullying.
• Embarrassment or fear: Worries regarding retaliation or being criticized for speaking out.
• Lack of knowledge: Insufficient awareness of reporting options or community standards. Recognizing that you deserve a safe and enjoyable SL experience is the initial step in addressing bullying.
1. Identify the Signs of Bullying
• Are you feeling targeted, excluded, or belittled?
• Does the behavior continue despite requesting the person to stop?
• Are others aware of the issue yet reluctant to intervene?
Trust your intuition and do not downplay your feelings as overreacting.
2. Use SL Tools to Protect Yourself
• Mute and block: These tools immediately sever communication with the bully.
• Report abuse: File a comprehensive report using the SL viewer, including chat logs, screenshots, and other evidence.
• Movelock: Stops your avatar from being pushed or jostled.
3. Enhance Your Privacy
• Refrain from sharing personal details (e.g., real name, location, or social media accounts).
• Adjust profile settings to restrict what outsiders can view or access.
4. Find Support
• Join encouraging SL communities dedicated to anti-bullying or mental wellness.
• Consult with trusted friends or mentors for guidance.
Encouraging a respectful and comprehensive environment begins with each individual. Here’s how you can make a difference:
• Exhibit positive behavior: Treat others with respect, even in disagreement.
• Advocate for others:** If you observe bullying, speak up or report it.
• Inform yourself and others: Distribute information about bullying and its consequences.
In our shared virtual world, we can unite to confront bullying and create a safer, more welcoming Second Life. By recognizing the issue and taking proactive steps, such as adjusting privacy settings and reporting violations, we can foster a vibrant, supportive community where creativity and connection thrive.

Could you share some details about yourself, including your interests beyond photography? Additionally, could you let us know your background and the specific areas of photography that you concentrate on?
Hi, I’m Eric! My creative journey began as a graphic editor in advertising, where I discovered my passion for design. A few years ago, I ventured into 3D modeling, a step that unlocked a whole new world of possibilities. This led me to Second Life, a virtual universe where creativity thrives. Here, I combine art and technology to craft unique digital creations, from intricate objects to immersive environments. What started as a curiosity has become a passion, allowing me to share my vision and explore the limitless potential of virtual design.
Have you undergone any formal training in graphic design, or do you have a background in it? Additionally, what sparked your initial interest in delving into photography within Second Life, and which aspects of virtual photography do you discover to be the most captivating or challenging?
Yes, I have formal experience with graphic design, having worked extensively in an advertising company on illustration and graphic projects, where I mastered tools like Photoshop. My love for Second Life sparked my interest in photography. Capturing its beauty allows me to tell unique visual stories. What captivates me most is the challenge of blending real-world techniques with the freedom of a virtual setting, creating images that evoke emotion and imagination. It’s an inspiring way to merge my artistic background with the vibrant creativity of Second Life.
What 3 words describe your personal photography style?
kindness, calmness, love
I’m sure many of our readers will be intrigued to hear how you actually make your pictures regarding windlight, size of the pictures, pixels. Do you have a favorite that you always turn to? And what do you think makes the best angle to take a picture?
Favorite photography always changes in its priority. Second life changes and progresses. What we saw 5-8 years ago cannot be compared with the picture of today. Just listen to your heart and it will tell you :)
Is there a specific photograph you’ve taken that holds a special place in your heart? If so, could you share the link and tell us what makes that particular image stand out to you?
There are several photos that hold a special place in my heart, though I’ve taken them off Flickr and saved them privately. One photo stands out—a snapshot of Bosco, a red cat I bought in Second Life, modeled after my beloved real-life cat who passed away. Naming him Bosco was a way to keep his memory alive. That photo is incredibly special to me because it’s not just an image—it’s a heartfelt tribute to a dear friend who will always hold a place in my heart. (see next page)
Lastly, could you provide insight into the projects currently occupying your creative focus? Are there particular areas you wish to explore in the future? Additionally, do you have any aspirations or dreams within your photography journey, and do you believe you’re making progress toward achieving them?
I’m focused on improving the quality and vibrancy of my photos while learning more about the game client to better showcase Second Life’s beauty. My goal is to push creative boundaries and create immersive images, and I’m steadily progressing toward that dream with every shot I take.
Is there something else you would like to say to our readers? Creativity will make you a wonderful person.
New and exciting oppontunity awaits you!
