Model Naarnisse Absinthe

Behind the vibrant persona of Naar Nisse lies María, a spirited and creative Spanish woman who has transformed her love for artistry and style into a thriving modeling career in Second Life (SL). María’s journey began serendipitously—within just two weeks of joining SL, her fascination with a stylish avatar led her to inquire about modeling, a decision that propelled her into the dynamic world of fashion. Inspired and guided by her first mentor, she not only learned the art of posing but also the delicate balance between being a model and a stylist. Her relentless pursuit of excellence has been fueled by real-life influences including her background as a makeup artist and muses like Grace Jones and Lady Gaga, alongside SL role models like Wicca Merlin.
Naar’s approach to fashion is anything but conventional. She thrives on blending gothic, avant-garde, and fetish styles to craft striking and provocative looks that leave an impression. Her love for the dramatic extends to her cinematic preferences, favoring gothic horror adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe’s works. Naar values professionalism, training, and humility in the competitive SL modeling scene, emphasizing the importance of good mentorship and collaboration. While she revels in the adrenaline of creating outfits under pressure, her ultimate satisfaction comes from achieving her dreams and encouraging aspiring models to aim high while maintaining integrity and respect within the industry.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to talk to us. Our readers are very interested in who you are, where you come from. Can u tell us a little bit about who is behind the avatar?
Well, behind Naar is María, a somewhat crazy spanish woman hahaha who loves modeling in SL.
What was your first job intention when you came into second life? How did you feel about the fashion industry?
Well, mine was quick and easy. When I was only 2 weeks old in sl, in a club I noticed a very stylish avatar that I loved, and I looked at her profile (something I had learned to do that day) and saw that she was a model herself. I found it so interesting that I opened im and asked her what I had to do to be a model. I had very good luck because she was a modeling teacher and that same day I signed up for her academy. And from that day until now!
What are your hobbies and interests besides Second Life?
Classic cinema and reading, especially in the mystery and suspense category.
Let’s dive into your favorites!
1. What is your favorite personal style?
I don’t have just one favorite style; I have three distinct ones that speak to me: gothic, avant-garde, and fetish. Each holds a special place in how I express myself, and together, they form a unique blend that defines who I am. Gothic brings the drama, the darkness, and the allure of mystery—it’s like wearing poetry steeped in shadow. Avant-garde offers the freedom to push boundaries, embrace the unexpected, and turn clothing into a form of art that challenges conventions. And then there’s fetish, which introduces boldness, sensuality, and unapologetic confidence, turning the idea of style into an act of empowerment. When these three come together,
they create a singular aesthetic that’s both rebellious and deeply personal, something that’s entirely me.
2. Who are your favorite designers?
Stephane Rolland, Thierry Mugler, Issey Miyake and Vivienne Westwood.
3. What are your favorite places to visit?
Well, I have never visited them, but I would love to travel to Egypt and Greece. I wouldn’t like to die without having seen them.
4. What is your favorite movie?
Any of the adaptations of the literary works of Edgar Allan Poe directed by Roger Corman with Vincent Price as the protagonist for the Hammer production company. I love gothic horror films.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? How did you decide to be a professional model? Who or what inspired you?
I will always be very grateful to my Euridice Qork. She taught me the difference between being a model and being a stylist, and she taught me the art of posing. She was my mentor, my teacher and I will always carry her deep within me. Well, in rl when I entered sl I worked as a makeup artist and did makeup for many models in many shows, so when I entered sl and saw that there was this world, I said to myself: why not know the other side of the profession? And I’m still addicted hahaha I actually have 3 muses.
When creating a style I always think: what would they do? How would they pose it? They are Grace Jones and Lady Gaga as my rl muses, and in sl my inspiration and role model is Wicca Merlin, whom I greatly admire and consider the best stylist in the metaverse.
Are u currently in an Agency? When did you sign with an agency? What agencies are you currently part of?
I am in several agencies. The first time I entered a modeling agency in SL I had only been a model for 2 months and I was scared to death! Well, I’m in AIM, Blvd, Audace, Excelsior, One on One, Models giving back... I’m in many agencies, really, but of all the ones I’ve mentioned, they are the most active.
Can you share the funniest or most interesting story that happened to you since you became a model?
Well, I’m a bit rebellious lol and I don’t know why, don’t ask me, I’ve always tried to avoid translators and try to communicate with my basic english lol. Being a new model, I decided to open an im to the owner of an academy to ask for information about her course. Here is the problem: course and curse are two words that are very similar and I, in my total ignorance, asked her for information about her curse... fortunately this model laughed it off and answered that surely the models what has she suspended if they thought she was cursed hahaha
What do you think makes your stand out? Can you share a story?
I always seek to create a reaction with my outfits, often creating controversy. I had to do an anti Valentines style for an agency and I had an appointment with a photographer to take my photo for that agency’s magazine.
As soon as the photographer saw me, he started ranting:
“Okay Naar that you are always looking to create controversy, but this time you went too far!!! It seems terrible to me that you wear a dead child in your styling.” While he continued ranting I couldn’t stop laughing, so much so that I was unable to say a word. In the end, as best I could, I told him: try changing the backdrop from white to black. When he did, the photographer fell silent... ok Naar, sorry, I didn’t see that it was a cupid. I laughed until everything hurt!!!
Tell us about your education: Have you attended fashion modeling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? Does it costs a lot of money? or can you teach yourself?
At first I was very insecure and I was very afraid of the catwalk, so I took a total of 6 courses to be able to feel confident in myself and, I confess, because while I was taking a course I had the excuse of not walking, I was terrified of facing to the catwalks. Incredible but true lol Of all the courses I took, the best and the ones that taught me the most were 2: Elite Events Models and Miss Virtual World Modeling Academy. A good modeling course does cost money, and apart from everything you spend, especially on poses. Teach myself??? That is a tremendous mistake!
If you don’t believe me, look at that group of mediocre models who think they know everything and that they are above others, who refuse to listen to those who know and if it occurs to you to tell them this is wrong, they will crucify you on social networks. social media calling you the antichrist because you haven’t told them how wonderful they are. Look at them when they are on the catwalks and die of laughter watching them make fools of themselves. They embarrass others. So yes, a good academy that trains you well is very important.
What advice would you give someone starting out?
At least take 2 modeling courses, and listen carefully and pay attention to your teachers, because they know what they are talking about. Be humble, accept criticism and always try to go further. And above all, be a good companion and help in any way you can.
What do you prefer: Modeling, blogging, print work, photography, competitions? and why? I admit it, what I like the most are competitions because what fulfills and motivates me the most is working under pressure creating new outfits. That adrenaline rushing through your body has no comparison!
Do you have any limitations? Would you model any kind of clothing at all? Well, I don’t think I would ever agree to parade genitalia lol (I think hey, maybe later I’ll say yes lol) I’m a model, and I’m a professional, so I parade whatever they give me. The rarer and more difficult what I have to parade, the greater the challenge and the more I will enjoy it.
What do you think about the competition in this industry, and the relationships models have with each other?
Unfortunately I no longer believe in competitions alone. I have seen and experienced too many things that have made me a skeptic. I have always told my students that in modeling there are no friends, only colleagues, and that they should watch each other’s backs because this profession, unfortunately, is a real nest of vipers. I can count on the fingers of one hand who I consider friends in this world of modeling, and it has taken years to realize that they are.
What magazine would you like to be on the cover of?
“Vogue... lol! Am I honest with you? From all the fashion magazines in SL!!! I know, I know, I aim too high xD”
Where do you see yourself in a year from now? Do you have any dreams or goals you want to have achieved Fortunately, I have achieved everything I dreamed of achieving in modeling, so I would be happy if in a year I am in the same place I am now. Enjoying the fruits of my hard work.
If you could change something in the fashion world in SL what would it be? The salaries. Models do very hard work and we deserve to be paid for it. It is not fair that some agencies expect us to do it for free or for a few coins. It is an offense to our work.
Is there something you would like to add to tell our readers or future models?
In the world of SL modeling there are 2 types of models: mediocre models and good models. You choose what you want to be, so don’t blame others for your decisions later.

Singer of the Monthkhewel
by BonieFacio
Among the dynamic facets of virtual and real-life reativity, there’s one group that often goes unnoticed: live singers. We know our readers are drawn to authenticity, so what better way to connect than to delve deeper into the lives of these captivating artists? We want to move beyond the performance and get to the heart of the person behind the avatar. Who are you? Where do you come from? What are the qualities that make you uniquely you? Let’s explore what inspires you and what drives your art.
For me, life is a treasure trove of connections, human beings, emotions, music, it’s all intertwined. Music, for me, is more than a passion; it’s my oxygen, my lifeline. Singing isn’t just about hitting the right notes or delivering a perfect vocal performance. It’s about creating a shared experience, about giving a piece of yourself to others. Every song carries a part of my story, but it’s also an invitation for others to connect and feel something profound.
My journey has led me to work with incredible people, particularly from France, in the medico-social field. It’s a path that blends empathy, collaboration, and purpose. I’ve learned that life is enriched by sharing, be it ideas, emotions, or music, and I strive to infuse that philosophy into everything I do.
So, to share a little about myself, here are three characteristics that define me: I love life in all its vibrant complexity, I deeply value human connection, and I am constantly inspired by the transformative power of music. For me, the grid is not just a platform; it’s a stage to connect, create, and give a part of myself to the world.u
Who are your musical influences, and how have they shaped your style?
I sing songs that hold meaning for me, whether it’s the melody, the lyrics, or a cherished memory tied to the music. Sometimes it’s the emotion or sensitivity of the artist that resonates deeply with me. My choices are guided by what moves me, what sparks connection, and what feels authentic to my soul.
I embrace diversity in music, I’m eclectic by nature, drawn to a wide range of styles and genres that speak to different aspects of life and emotion. For me, every song is a story, a moment, or a feeling worth sharing.
Have you ever dealt with stage fright or performance anxiety? How did you manage and overcome it?
I am, by nature, incredibly sensitive, a trait I once struggled to navigate on my own. But it wasn’t just me who found a way through; it was my fans, with their kindness, support, and love, who helped me embrace it. They’ve given me wings to soar, lifting me up in ways I never thought possible. Together, we’ve created something beautiful, built on a foundation of joy, love, and shared connection. It’s a journey we’ve taken hand in hand, and I’m endlessly grateful for their presence in my life.
Do you ever get bored doing what you always do? How do you keep your job exciting? For me, singing and performing isn’t just a job, it’s a shared experience. I give a part of myself to the audience, but what they give back to me is so powerful and fulfilling that boredom simply isn’t possible.
Maintaining a balance is key, though. A thoughtful schedule is important to ensure I can juggle my real-life work and this passion. Listening to yourself, understanding your limits and needs, is essential to stay inspired and energized. I also believe in quality over quantity; it’s better to give your best in a few meaningful moments than to spread yourself too thin. This approach keeps the experience vibrant and rewarding, both for me and for those I share it with..
Can you share an example of a time when you had to adapt your musical style to fit a specific project or audience?
I have my song list, but for me, music is all about traveling through time and styles, sharing emotions as they come naturally—so I don’t rigidly stick to it. You know, when you sing, it’s about how you feel in the moment.
For example, I might prepare a song list in the morning, thinking it’s perfect. But by evening, after everything the day has brought me, its ups, downs, and moods, I’ll look at that list and completely change it. My emotions guide my choices, and if my heart isn’t in the songs, the performance won’t feel genuine. So, that song list is more of a starting point—it means nothing if it doesn’t align with how I feel when I’m ready to sing.
How do you stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in music?
Music is a feeling, Music is in your heart, and so you listen to a song and know thats is.
Getting followers or people attending your set isn’t easy. How to you get people to come to your set?
Avec ce petit quelque chose que seuls les Français ont
Sometimes in venues people can be really hard, jealous or even a bully when they don’t like the music. How do you deal with drama? Drama has no place in my world. I have no time for those who feel the need to make themselves seem important or create chaos while hiding behind a screen. I choose to surround myself with people who bring positivity and peace, not unnecessary drama.
This is my life, my dream, and I have the power to decide who matters in it, and just as importantly, who doesn’t. The energy I allow into my world is entirely my choice, and I protect that space fiercely.
Besides singing are there other things you like to do in second life? ynamic world of fashion. However, I’ve learned to channel it positively, us Besides singing, I love creating in Second Life, designing places and homes that feel welcoming and comforting. My goal is to craft spaces where people can feel better, and in doing so, it helps me feel better too.
I’m also passionate about dreaming, connecting, and exchanging ideas with people from all over the world. It’s inspiring to share experiences and perspectives with such a diverse community, it keeps the magic of Second Life alive for me.
To end i like to give you a chance to promote your club. You meet someone that doesn’t know the club, how would you convince them to come and work there? And if you had the chance to make a slogan or advertisement what would be the headliner? i would told them invite them to search for this french word and a song : “La boheme and ask them to listen to this Mr Charles Aznavour s song.
Miss & Mr Elegance
by BonieFacio
TwinkieBean and Adonis Hansome are the winners of this years Miss and Mr Elegance.
Hello there, first of all thank you for taking the time to get in touch with us. On behalf of ModeLS magazine congratulations of being the winner of the Miss & Mister Elegance. How do you feel after weeks of challenges?
AH : Thank you, it has been exhilarating to say the least. Now that it is over I will miss the pressure to style.
T : Wow, let me tell you, I was absolutely gob smacked! I mean, my jaw hit the floor and I just sat there for a minute, totally stunned, trying to process what had just happened. It was this wild cocktail of joy and surprise, you know?
Then, it was like an explosion of love and celebration! My inbox was lighting up with all these IMs of congratulations, and before I knew it, chaos reigned supreme. It was pure chaos and joy swirling together – an absolute whirlwind! Honestly, it’s one of the best moments of my entire Second Life. I’m still buzzing from it!
How did you start your career, where you planning on being a model since the moment you started Second Life?
AH: A friend of mine got me to start modelling, back in 2010, it was not even thought of until it was mentioned I should give it a try.
T: I kicked off my career at a Tri Pi Sorority fashion show on the Woodcrest University sim. I strutted my stuff, and bam! Someone spots me and says,
“You gotta model!” Naturally, I’m like, “Who, me?” And you know what? I took them up on it! I signed with a few agencies and hit the runway like a rough diamond in the making - still figuring it out, but loving every second of it!
I’ve had some amazing mentors who saw the potential in me and took me under their wings. I mean, who doesn’t need a little guidance from seasoned pros, right? It’s been a wild ride, and modeling has always been a dream of mine since jumping into Second Life. This is my happy place! Whether I’m on the catwalk or just vibing in SL, I’ve found my groove, and I’m loving every minute. What a journey it’s been!i
If we would ask your friends to give us 3 words that can describe you the best. What would those be and how do those words are really you.
AH: Loyal, honest and committed
T: If my friends had to pick three words to describe me, they’d probably throw out nurturing, goofy, and sweet. Let’s break it down! First up, nurturing. I’m the proud parent of five SL kids and one godson! Seriously, my heart is as big as my virtual family. Friends often say they wish I could adopt them too. I guess it’s nice to know people appreciate how much I care for my family. I’m always just a call away - drop me a line, and I’ll drop everything for you!
Now let’s talk goofy! I’m all about that silly life! Sometimes, it’s a bit much in real life (whoops!), but in Second Life? Everyone is just as playful, so I fit right in! Nothing like a little laughter to lighten the mood.
And sweet? You know it! I love keeping in touch with my pals and going to their shows. I genuinely enjoy cheering them on and bringing the good vibes whenever I can. So, there you have it: nurturing, goofy, and sweet - three words that really sum up my heart! Just your friendly neighborhood enthusiast right here!”ve extensive interactions with other contestants. Despite the limited contact, it was exciting to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for fashion. While
How would you describe your favorite style?
AH: Avant Garde, any over the top styling is my favorite.
T: My absolute fave—haute couture! I’m all about that runway magic, and if you haven’t seen the SCHIAPARELLI HAUTE COUTURE Fall/Winter 2022 show, do yourself a favor and check it out! It’s pure art, my friends! I’m talking edgy vibes mixed with classic touches - my fashion heart can’t resist!
Now, I’ve had my style journeys, too. I started out punk, then dipped my toes into the emo scene, but now? I’ve embraced that tailored, classic look. But listen, when I hit the stage, give me all the haute couture! I’m ready to strut my stuff and make those fashion statements. So, haute couture - best believe I’m your girl! Keep it edgy but classy, and I’m all in, baby!
If your are given the chance to be a leader, how would you do that?
AH: I would take advice from others in the position and use it to help me become better for all.
T: If I ever get the chance to be a leader, you better believe I’m bringing my A-game! First off, it’s all about keeping the vibes light and fun, right?
I’d create a space where everyone feels like a rockstar! We’re talking laughter-filled brainstorming sessions where ideas can flow as freely as the confetti.
I’d be the kind of leader who listens. Seriously, everyone’s got something special to share!
But hey, I’d also set clear goals - we need to know where we’re heading! So, with kindness, laughter, and a sprinkle of silliness, we’d tackle challenges together.
What made you decide to compete in Miss & Mister Elegance?
AH: The styling aspect of the competition, it helps me grow to become a better stylist.
T: It all boils down to the incredible experience I had last year, wowza! Everyone was so welcoming and organized, it felt like one big happy family. Seriously, I was like, “This is where I belong!”
When I snagged that 2nd Runner Up spot, I knew right then and there that I’d be back for more fun this year. And you know what? Competing isn’t just about the title - it’s about the friendships and good vibes! I made some awesome pals last year, and guess what? I made new ones this time around too! So yeah, I came back for the thrill, the laughter, and just hanging out with some of the coolest folks.
How were u able to deal with stress you had to go through and did you feel any jealousy with others?
AH: No jealousy at all with any other and I was not really stressed, I just took my time to read what was needed for each styling challenge and put my best foot forward.
T: You know how life can throw stress balls at you like a game of dodgeball? Well, I managed it by chatting it up with my good friend Hanne ѕтяαωвєяяу Kenin and hitting those shopping events to clear my mind. Retail therapy, am I right? I’d binge-watch runway videos like they were a new Netflix series, and sometimes I’d find myself mindlessly hopping around Flickr and Primfeed. Jealousy. Oh boy, did I feel it! Minyi and Zivaah know it because, come on, how could you not be jelly of their amazingness? I’m a HUGE fan of theirs! Minyi’s goddess outfit? A total showstopper! And Zivaah’s seasons outfit? Pure perfection! Their styles are so incredible I nearly wanted to hide in shame. So yeah, I was very jelly and proud to say it. the dynamic world of fashion. However, I’ve learned to channel it positively, using it as motivation to enhance
What was your favorite challenge?
AH: The God challenge. National was a fun one to do as well. Hard to pick one I enjoyed them all.
T: Oh man, my favorite challenge was definitely the finale formal! I just love a good formal moment, especially in Elegance - it’s my creative playground! This time, I mixed and matched designers like a pro, and wow, did it take some effort! But trust me, it turned out AMAZING!
If you were given the option to be a judge in this competition. Can you give us 5 pointers you will take a closer look to judge others?
AH: 1. Tell a story with your poses
2. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone
3. Learn forom those around you, you can take something new from each and every person.
4. Be true to yourself
5. Lastly have fun
T: If I ever judge for Elegance, I’ll bring tips I learned from my mentors! First, poses should flow naturally—thanks to Memole Giha for that lesson. Second, ask yourself, “Does this pose make sense?” as Hanne taught me. Stay organized with tidy inventories and early submissions for bonus points. Kindness is key—Laycie Pearl’s support showed me its value. Lastly, keep resources handy, like Marketplace faves or inspiration from Flickr. These tips helped me shine and enjoy competing, and I hope they’ll do the same for others!
What are you planning to do with the tittle?
AH: Help others who wish to aspire to be a model and to be a mentor to anyone who wishes for me to help them anyway i can.
T: As Miss Elegance 2025, my mission is to soak up knowledge and experience so I can uplift the next generation of models. I want to fully understand the responsibilities of this title and what’s expected of me with Elegance. It’s all about learning how I can contribute positively to the community and help others shine. To kick this off, I’m thrilled to be launching the TwinkieBean Scholarship Fund this month! This fund will support new models, agencies, and pageants - whatever needs a little boost. My title will help elevate this initiative, giving it that extra sparkle and recognition it deserves.
By being proactive, I hope to connect with aspiring models, share my journey, and encourage them to pursue their dreams. Being a positive role model isn’t just about glitz and glamour; it’s about using my platform to make a real difference.
Was there someone you thought would win besides you?
AH: I try not to think of who I think may win, with all who have competed, we are all winners.
T: Two stars caught my eye during the competition: Zivaah and Minyi. Zivaah was a total powerhouse, dedicated, professional, and bold with her unique styles. I thought the crown was hers to lose! Then there was Minyi, who strutted in with luggage like she owned the stage. Her goddess Kali look? Unforgettable! Both were incredibly talented and inspiring. I’d have been proud to see either win and can’t wait to watch their careers soar!
Is there anything you like to add to our readers?
AH: One thing I can say is be true to who you are, there is only one of you and have fun in whatever you desire to do.
T: You know, it’s really not just about the crown - it’s about enjoying the journey to get there! SL is meant to be fun, and finding that happy spot is what it’s all about. For me, SL modeling brings tons of joy. So my advice? Go out there and discover what makes you happy in SL!
Don’t waste your time hanging around things that drag you down or make you feel bleh. There are so many cool opportunities, styles, and connections waiting for you. Focus on what brings you joy, and pursue that with all you’ve got! Remember, it’s all about having a blast along the way, so let’s make those SL moments count!

Could you share some details about yourself, including your interests beyond photography? Additionally, could you let us know your background and the specific areas of photography that you concentrate on?
I consider myself a veteran in SL, being a member for almost 18 years (taking into account the necessary breaks). As a guitarist I have always been drawn to the music scene in SL and during the years I have met so many fantastic like minded people. Recently I got fascinated by the whole AI phenomenon. I started to create images based on existing pictures I took in SL, discovering a whole new creative world. Specializing in portraits where AI shines at it’s best!
Have you undergone any formal training in graphic design, or do you have a background in it? Additionally, what sparked your initial interest in delving into photography within Second Life, and which aspects of virtual photography do you discover to be the most captivating or challenging?
I wouldn’t call myself a die-hard SL photographer but I do have eye for composition. I didn’t follow any training or course, although I am a hobbyphotographer in real life. Using AI in photography is often seen as ‘easy’ or just a one-trick-pony. I disagree with this. Creativity is in in the mind and to keep a person’s identity using AI can be quite a challenge!
What 3 words describe your personal photography style?
realism, personalism, authentic
I’m sure many of our readers will be intrigued to hear how you actually make your pictures regarding windlight, size of the pictures, pixels. Do you have a favorite that you always turn to? And what do you think makes the best angle to take a picture? By leveraging the power of AI, I can manipulate
dynamically and independently of any specific game engine’s built-in features. This allows for unparalleled creative control and flexibility in crafting visually stunning scenes. The key to capturing the perfect image lies in choosing the angle where the pose, composition, and lighting come together harmoniously, creating a moment that feels both natural and striking. Every adjustment, from the light’s intensity to its direction, contributes to elevating the scene and bringing the vision to life. I’m sure many of our readers will be intrigued to hear how you actually make your pictures regarding windlight, size of the pictures, pixels.
Do you have a favorite that you always turn to? And what do you think makes the best angle to take a picture?
Favorite photography always changes in its priority. Second life changes and progresses. What we saw 5-8 years ago cannot be compared with the picture of today. Just listen to your heart and it will tell you :)
Is there a specific photograph you’ve taken that holds a special place in your heart? If so, could you share the link and tell us what makes that particular image stand out to you?
This picture is one of the first pictures I created using an existing picture as a basis and experimenting with AI prompting.
Lastly, could you provide insight into the projects currently occupying your creative focus? Are there particular areas you wish to explore in the future? Additionally, do you have any aspirations or dreams within your photography journey, and do you believe you’re making progress toward achieving them?
I am sure I will keep following the new developments in the AI world. In SL I think enhancing portraits will remain my thing. Helping out people to create their (profile) images.
