Elefanté isn’t Here! By:Elizabeth Hoppe “AAAAAHHHHHHHHH, MAAAAMAAAAA,” Cassidy screeched, as she kicked and squirmed around on the airplane ride to Mexico. Cassidy had thick, brown, curly hair. Her hair bounced in her face all the time. Her eyes were a milk chocolate color, that sparkled in the sun. “Shhhhhhh, Honey, we are almost there,” Mrs. Smith whispered as she tried to calm down Cassidy.

It had been a long hot plane ride. Cassidy was in the middle, Mrs. Smith was on the aisle seat and Mr. Smith, who was asleep, with ear plugs jammed in his ears was in the window seat. Cassidy was in the middle of them both, throwing a very aggressive fit. Mrs. Smith was getting a little annoyed with Cassidy so she took out the first book she could find and started to read it out loud to Cassidy. But that did not help at all. Finally she knew what would make Cassidy be quiet, her Elefanté. Mrs. Smith search around in Cassidy’s toy bag but could not find Elefanté. She thought, “Whatever, it’s probably underneath Cassidy’s seat.” “We will be landing in Mexico in ten minutes,” a voice started to fill the the plane. Cassidy was so confused because she had no clue where the voice was coming from. “Cassidy, we will be there really soon,” Mrs. Smith told Cassidy because she had a feeling that Cassidy had no clue what the man had said. Cassidy clapped and smiled. “Yaaaay,” Cassidy screeched.

Cassidy had finally calmed down after her big fit. It was finally time to get off the plane and Cassidy was almost jumping off the walls she was going crazy. her brown curly hair was bouncing up and down as she hopped down the aisle to exit the plane. “Slow down girly,” Mr. Smith told her. “Daddy,” Cassidy complained. She loved jumping down the aisle and swinging in between the seats. They stepped off the plane. She flailed her arms and legs. The Smith family went to go get the rental car and they were putting Cassidy into her car seat that they rented. They were in a huge parking lot that had cars everywhere. They were trying to take out her Elefanté and couldn’t find it anywhere in her bag. “Where could Elefanté be?” asked Mr. Smith, as he scrambled to try to find

Elefanté “I’m not sure, maybe she’s in my bag,” said Mrs. Smith, she took a deep breath she was getting really worried. She knew if they did not find Elefanté that Cassidy would be devastated.

“No I don’t think so.” responded Mr. Smith. He was worried too, but he never really showed when he was worried. Cassidy and her parents looked all around, in bathrooms, inside all the bags, the waiting area for the plane, and they couldn’t find Elefanté anywhere. So they finally gave up on looking. So she decided to call a worker and see if he could look in

the plane. They walked back to the parking lot as Mrs. Smith talked on the phone. “Hello, I am Beth, I am wondering if you could look in the plane for my daughter’s elephants stuffed animal?” It took forty five minutes for the man to come back. Cassidy was getting very tired she was getting scared because she missed Elefanté. Finally she heard Mrs. Smith say, “Honey, look someone’s here,”said Mrs. Smith. Cassidy turned around. She saw blue cars, red cars, grey cars, and even green cars. Her brown curly hair bounced in the air, as she turned and saw Elefanté in the hands of a gigantic man she didn’t know. She had a big smile on her face and flung her hands out in the air. She dashed over to where Elefanté was. She was so happy that Elefanté was here. She thought she would never see him again. She grabbed Elefanté out of the man’s hand and ran around with him in the parking lot. She held him tightly in her hands. She snuggled with him and jumped into a car seat. The smell of the car was clean and fresh. Her mom and dad got in the car and buckled her up. They started driving away as Mr. Smith said thank you to the man. Cassidy took a deep breath. It had been a long day for Cassidy and she was getting tired. She rubbed her nose on Elefantés trunk like she always did when she was about to go to sleep. On the spot that she rubbed her nose on Elefanté was all worn out because it was very soft on his trunk. She thought it was the fuzziest part

of him. Her car seat was soft too, and she rubbed her hot cheeks against the pale blue car seat. She clenched Elefanté in her hand tightly and sighed. She thought about her day. It had been an adventure, but she was happy to go back to a hotel that had a nice comfy bed to take a nap in. Her eyes slowly began to close as she fell asleep. Her eyes felt heavy. She let them close. “I love you Elefanté” and she meant it.
