Many Lost Days

Many Lost Days by Lyle Spitz “See ya later Benjamin,” I called. ”some friend you are Bob,”replied Ben. A moment later as I was leaving my friends house some trash got thrown at me along with a sombrero, Wow a sombrero. It was a rainy day in 2/22/2222, so the sombrero looked very appealing. I put it on. When I was walking home I heard a rustle in the bushes. What could it be? I was a curious person and wanted to know what the rustle was, so I followed the sound into the woods. (dun dun duhhhhh!). Man what is that? I kept following it. I knew I should be getting home but not knowing what that rustle was, was killing me. So I kept following it. “I should really be getting home now,” I muttered. I was about to start back to my destination, home when I realized I didn’t remember which way I came from. I was lost. “Dang it my hover shoes, they are broken. All my technology is broken. Uhoh this is the worst dayeveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!” I whined. I was feeling pretty bad by now and I didn’t feel much hope.

I stormed further into a different part of the woods not caring what would happen. That was my big mistake.I thought about what to do I decided I should get some rest. So I went to find a suitable place when I slipped on a hunk of wood and got knocked out. When I woke up it looked approximately noon. It was a sunny day, I was in a good mood and I felt like going for a swim. But when I got up then I realized that I was in the middle of nowhere. “Aw great, no swimming today, I grumbled. I sat down and thought about what to do, should I set up camp and try to survive like people did in movies people are so optimistic in the movies. How are people so optimistic in the movies when there is so little hope? Should I try to find my way home. First I needed to find some water because I was parched. I walked

for a few hours until I found a stream I drank way more than my fill and looked up. I saw some frogs that seemed to be saying “you are new around here aren’t you”. I all of a sudden realized that I was really tired and I was pretty much falling down so I layed down shut my eyes and instantly fell asleep. When I woke I decided I should make a makeshift camp, I found a branch and thought that I should make a comfortable shelter in the canopy before I did anything else, so I tied some vines here and there, and soon I had a hammock. It wasn’t anybody’s dream bed but it would have to do for tonight.

When I woke up all I could see was leafy green because so many leaves had fallen on me during the last night.“I am going to try to find my way home,“ I said to myself. I started off into the wilderness. I trudged all day long without luck. “man this is really tiring,” I thought. “But I have to keep going.” I walked for hours not knowing when I would be found or if I would be found. I took a break on a comfortable looking rock and decided to stop for food “ I don’t have food ‘“ I realized.”Now I have to go find it for myself, I wish I was back home,” I whined. I started off in a search for food. I got lucky and found some strawberries. I gobble them up and felt them sliding down my throat and into my stomach, it felt so good, and I’m not thirsty.”man, score,” I whispered. I was really tired and went to sleep on a rock. I woke to growling and heavy breathing I squinted eyes so the thing wouldn’t see me, it was a gigantic, and burly grizzly bear. I bolted to a tree and started climbing up the tree until I couldn’t climb any more. Meanwhile once the bear saw me move it had started barreling towards me and started to climb the tree that I was on. I was cornered I only had one choice left to try to jump to the tree next to me I jumped, Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I

wasn’t going to make it. Suddenly time slowed down. I moved my arm toward my destination. The branch. I barely made it to the branch. With only centimeters to spare, sweat was dripping from my cloths and hair. I looked back, the bear fell off and knocked the daylights out of himself. When I got to the ground I ran as fast as I could until I couldn’t run any more, instead of trying to make camp I just lay down and shut my eyes and passed out instantly. When I woke up I was on a bed next to a fire.” Who, what, where,” I mumbled.”Hi, honey,” said a familiar voice. “Mother,!” I shouted. “How did I get here,”I asked.’Oh Ben found you and told us where you are,”she replied. “ Ben, is he still mad at me?”I asked.”Yeah, Ben got over it. I think you owe him an apology, and a thank you,” she replied.

Then the bear woke up And he wanted Revenge.

THE END
