Theowner,anentrepreneurwithagreatpassionfor boating,leftarch.Dennerleinarawfabrictobe modelledashewished,anopenspace,interruptedon bythestructuresupportingcolumns, tobecompletely reimagined.Andsoitwas.
Dennerleinintervenedbybreakingupthetraditional patternofsubdividingspacesandmouldingthedesign asifitwereapieddansl'eau,withoutsharpedges, sophisticatedandmadetomeasure.

Everythinghasbeendesignedandhandcraftedwitha highlevelofcarpentrywork:fromthefurnituretothe cupboardsandpartitions,fromthekitchentothe doors,someofwhich,inglassandconcealed,are diaphragmsdesignedinharmonywiththeoverall designofthehouse.Thewallshavethewarmtexture oftheARTEEffeitaliaandDEDARwallpapersthat recallthelinearhorizonoftheseawhenitiscalmor thestreakingofshells.Theflooringisasingleskin thatrunsthroughtheentirehouse,abeige-coloured Turkishtravertinestonewithnoveining.Thefloor heatingisjustoneofthemanydevicesthatmakethe residencesmartlydomoticandhigh-tech.
Thearchitectchosetooptimisetheoverall dimensions,thinkingoflifeonthesurfaceofthe water,anddesignedandbuiltlargepillowsand cupboardsthatserveasbackdropstoseparate

functionsandspaces,suchastheoneintheliving room,whichalsoincorporatesthefireplaceandwhere theAbsoluandSherazadesofasbyEDRAstandoutlike solosinanorchestra,infrontofarefinedGLASlow table.ThetableandchairsarebyBAXTER.Theonly darknoteistheDAYTONAconsoletable. Thisshell-likeasasoulfindsitsnaturalsupportinthe ceilings,onwhichlargeceilingstreatedwithsilver leafarecarvedtoreflectthelightandmarkthe roundnessoftheentireproject.
Theintwineofreflectionsandtransparencies underlinestheimportanceoflightinthedesign philosophy,asdemonstratedbytheuseofSwissSKY FRAMEfloor-to-ceilingwindowstounify,ratherthan separate,thelivingroomwiththeterraceembellished withRODAfurnishings,inaseamlessdialogue.

Theimpressionoftouchingthepinetreeswitha fingercontinuesinthemainbathroom,wherethe highqualityfinishingsoftheRITMONIOsatinbrass tapware,thedarkgreystoneembracingthebathtub arefoundinthedecorativefriezecutlikeanowl's claw,andtheEdonéfurnitureallstandout.Asartorial workthatdemandsattentiontoeverydetailand vibratesinthegoldenthreadofthewallpaperthat completestheinterior.Thepreciousnessofthe materialsreturnsinthebathroomadjoiningthe masterbedroom,aroomwithamorerigorousand masculinemoodwhosesurfacesarehighlighted horizontally.
Inthenightareathevolumesdominatemorethanthe furnishings,containedinthedividingpaneling,and thesuitesouloftheRomanresidenceimmediately
emerges:thebackdropwithitsportholemirror,the refinementoftheonlypieceoffurniture,Scrignoby FRATELLICAMPANAforEdra,andthewhiteandbeige underliningtheluminosity-emphasizedevenmore bytheSHUCOfixtures-ofaroomwithdeliberately smallandintimatedimensions.
